Serge:

"All right first talk to Cara Willis and then Meg Lopes and then returned back home with our men." Serge said although it was obvious he was simply reciting his instruction out loud to himself.

"That is right yes."
Jeffry confirmed.

"Yes several things!" Serge said as he wasted no time explaining the situation.

"I spent a little more time on that picture and I think it's a warning that we might be attacked soon. Like...really soon! The problem is that we don't know how and their's still several things in that picture that are still fuzzy. Master Morgan asked you to use the teleporter to send me to Chicago and meet with the sage to see if I can get a better understanding of that warning."

"I see that is not good."
Narim said in a concerned tone of voice.
"Very well then I can send you to Chicago let me just contact Morningstar first so you do not run smack into their wards."
He said and flipped up his phone and begun sending a message.
"And the teleporter is me Mr Yager."
He said the a wry smile.

Nicole:

Elaine glanced at you for a moment.
"We do not run a restaurant Miss, we have a coffee maker and a teapot and that is about it if you want anything fancy I am sure you can get that somewhere...what we can give you is a hot meal."
The Hermetic returned to the table with a cup of hot coffee and a plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, little sosages and a bun.
"I hope you will enjoy your meal...I should go and tell Renee her guest is here."
She said as you glanced around, some of the others gave you curious looks but no one said anything.

'Thanks.' Nicole replied politely, taking the plate and giving a nod. Once alone, she stares into space for a moment with a slightly bemused look, shrugs and starts eating.

Elaine left and let you eat your breakfast in peace, the food was tasty and did seam to be home made. After about then minutes the Fortunae came back together with another woman, this person was of average height, slender and pregnant, she had short black hair, dark skin and sharp brown eyes, a scar ran the length of her right cheek she was wearing a white tshirt, black pants and a light blue blazer.
"Are you Nicole? Your Mentor called me, I am Renee...we are of the same Tradition."
The pregnant woman said and offered her hand in greeting she had an engagement and wedding ring on one hand other than that and a pair of gold hoops in her ears she did not wear any jewelry. Elaine smiled a little.
"Ok then I will leave you two to talk unless any of you need me for anything?"
She said and Renee shook her head.
"No thank you for telling me she had arrived Elaine I will see you later."
The Etherite said and the Hermetic glanced at you for a moment to see if you needed anything before she left to continue with her day.

"That is likely going to be the most difficult thing of the whole process yes keeping the girl safe until she is in a position to take care of herself, taking over an apprentice originally trained by another have it's challenges though, she will have her own way of doing thing which might be hard for you to overcome to teach her in your own way."
Crexia said and gave you a little smile.
Colin smiled, "Good thing I'm patient."

"I see...well Mr Wainwright I think perhaps it is a good thing that you are a Orphan, if you had a Mentor you would be giving the poor mage a heart attack from worrying over you with the stunts you pull...well I wish you both good luck on your ehm...adventures..."
Crexia said and she looked like she thought that you might just be slightly touched.
He grinned, "Oh, rest assured, if I can't see the ship cleansed of the Resonance saturating it, I'm not going to be flying off with her. The expedition is entirely contingent on successfully cleansing the ship. I'm not completely reckless."

"I'd like to see this as well, of course. I hope it works."
He nodded, "Time will tell... I'm optimistic, though."

"I hope you are right, a way to help those who get a major Paradox backlash that strain their soul or other injuries to their Avatars have been sorely lacking. Thank you for agreeing to keep me informed."
She said politely and nodded.
He smiled, "The least I could do."

"Oh dear...that can be...messy and while the woman is a widderslainte she have integrated well into the Traditions and her teacher is highly respected yes if she have been...arrested that will be a big shock for everyone..."
Udella said and Crexia frowned.
"Where do you have this information from Mr Wainwright?"
The old archmage asked.
He scratched his ear, "My Chantrymate was escorting a widderslainte we found at miss Jerkins' apartment, to be held at her home Chantry while waiting for a trial, and was, ah, accosted by a certain capable lady. He was only lightly injured, and could relate the event. The subsequent details - I'll admit to some extrapolation."

"I see, well I can understand you being disturbed by such an outburst then they are not tactically favorable most of the time, but at least this time it lead to one dead Nephandus which is generally a good thing."
Crexia said with a reassuring smile.
He nodded, "And it did end with Mia coming out of her shell."

"There are certainly other ways to christen a ship than sending it straight into battle," he said, wryly.
He smiled, "And here I thought a Flambeau would be all in favour of a baptism by fire."

"True enough, then again while expensive a shuttle can be replaced your life can not, nor the lives your plan might save among the magi storming the Labyrinth."
The Tytalus said softly.
He nodded, "And saving lives is the primary concern for such an operation."

"True enough that and yes you might be able to charm the woman to let her guard down, but it is still be a dangerous thing to attempt. As for me and knives in the back...well it would hurt and ruin my dress but no it would not do much more, hopefully Larson's Hander have not walked the same path as me though."
The lich said and frowned.
He shook his head, "I don't think so... I can't know for certain, of course, but I would hypothesize a Handler needs to be alive to be linked with a polyp."

"Having their name might be helpful, if we get lost in there..." he said, looking thoughtful.
He nodded, "Caution is key, of course... Hum, as a spot of insight, being able to manipulate a bit of luck would be useful if you come across a control panel - their security is scarcely the greatest, though I wouldn't rely on unassisted luck alone - you might come across a screen connected to a... fleshy harp-thing. The screen just might be able to display a map of the place."

"I can understand why Master Nassa would forbid his student looking at those illustrations they are what Master Porthos saw while Teomim was...well the way I understand it I do not need to elaborate that to you."
Crexia said and frowned.
"It surprise me you do not...react badly to those drawings yourself considering...well anyway I also understand why Miss Alexander would like to...read Teomim's speech they did face their fate with the gratest of courage...and in her situation..."
He frowned, "I think... Mia deliberately shelters me from the worst impact of that - though, when I first looked at them, she had not revealed her name to me yet. The pictures are... uncomfortable, but nowhere near as much as the sense of loss I sense when I see the images of the First Cabal..."

Crexia frowned deeply.
"I did not consider that possibility but yes I...have sometimes wondered what would happen if I...stopped resisting the pull of Stasis...there is another lich at this Chantry he carry the same name as the unfortunate boy we saved in the Labyrinth, and he...well bloodless is a good description then again he is a lich he do not technically speaking have blood but you get my meaning...and combine that with Jhor with someone as powerful as Teomim that is terrifying, truly terrifying. I do not know if their two Avatars would matter in the equation but...is sure is not to make it any better..."
She said and the old archmage seamed a little disturbed at that idea.
He nodded, "It seems a viable possibility, a most unpleasant one... and while two Avatars might not have much bearing on the condition, well... considering a Quiet can make one see what the Avatar's host a thousand years ago saw, I would hazard there is an element of the Avatar involved in such a condition - and if two Avatars have joined in the Mage's madness..."
He shuddered, "The potential consequences would be, well... written down."

"Very good, we have an accord then old friend?"
He grinned, "We do indeed."

"Thank you, get some rest yourself, too, okay?" he said, groggily to his friend before he slumped into the bedroll. As he slid off towards sleep, he reached out towards his avatar and then the shard, almost as if to say goodnight, and then feel into a deep sleep.
He nodded, "I did get some rest earlier, and I... have a little more experience with combat fatigue than you do, I think, though it's been a few years. I can get some paperwork done before I need to sleep."

"On plaintiff's name write up your own name and that you are complaining on behalf on your apprentice, you have given the girl the name Anna will you give her a surname as well?"
Udella asked.
"Ehm...let me think...Vanela...Vanela Bosh bani Verbena. I would fill in some details of what happened and note that alternative where available magick, herbs or pills could have been used to calm the child, or taking her out of the situation, be concise but make sure it is clear what happened."
The Enforcer advices.
"And frame it as an insult against you for harming your apprentice as the girl do not yet have any real rights but Tradition law."
He nodded, "I'll give her my own name - adopt her properly."
He filled in the fields as Udella recommended, "Right, an insult against me. Should I note that she seems to express a pattern of recklessness potentially endangering herself and the infirmary by needlessly traumatizing Awakened children? That is, after all, the chief practical concern in the long term..."

Colin smiled, "Good thing I'm patient."

"You are going to have to be to train a child apprentice."
Crexia said wryly.
"Trust me I know."

He grinned, "Oh, rest assured, if I can't see the ship cleansed of the Resonance saturating it, I'm not going to be flying off with her. The expedition is entirely contingent on successfully cleansing the ship. I'm not completely reckless."

"Good though do remember that ship's last mission cost allot of good people their sanity and their lives, that ship should be very well cleansed before you even consider using it..."
The archmage warned and frowned.

He smiled, "The least I could do."

"I would like to have some relief to offer victims of Branding as well...that would make things easier on some of my clients."
Udella said.

Crexia raised and eyebrow.
"Well I do wonder how that happened."
She commented.
"Off course neither I nor the honored Quesitor should be told any illegal details, but yes that will stir things up, I do pity the girl though."

He nodded, "And it did end with Mia coming out of her shell."

"And you spending two days in a pain induced near coma."
Crexia reminded you.
"But yes things do seam to have worked out for the best in the end."

He nodded, "And saving lives is the primary concern for such an operation."

Crexia nodded at that.
"So it is, I just hope we do not loose you in the process Mr Wainwright."

He shook his head, "I don't think so... I can't know for certain, of course, but I would hypothesize a Handler needs to be alive to be linked with a polyp."

"Yes you are probably right about that...which will make her easier to dispose of if you get the chance."
Crexia said wryly.

"That is useful information old friend is that from one of your visions?"
Udella asked.
"Using lucky based magick to get around hum...well it could work but by the very nature of luck it would not be reliable."

He frowned, "I think... Mia deliberately shelters me from the worst impact of that - though, when I first looked at them, she had not revealed her name to me yet. The pictures are... uncomfortable, but nowhere near as much as the sense of loss I sense when I see the images of the First Cabal..."

Crexia nodded and said nothing further about it. Udella looked at you for a while and put her hand gently on your arm in a comforting manner.
"You have a new Cabal now old friend, one to protect and care for, it will go better this time."

"Resonance is stored in the mage's own body, Paradox in the Avatar however a Quiet, regardless of the type are created and controlled by the Avatar as a way to protect the host when their will and inner reality get to be in to much conflict with everything else or when they just need to flee from the reality they see around them...how Quiet would work with two souls though...that I do not know."
Crexia said and frowned she was still clearly unnerved by the topic though trying to hide it.

He shuddered, "The potential consequences would be, well... written down."

The old Tytalus nodded and frowned.

He nodded, "I did get some rest earlier, and I... have a little more experience with combat fatigue than you do, I think, though it's been a few years. I can get some paperwork done before I need to sleep."

"That might be so but once we get this paperwork done we could both need some sleep old friend."
Udella said with a tired smile.

He nodded, "I'll give her my own name - adopt her properly."

"Very well Anna Wainwright then, a good name for the girl."
The Quesitor said and nodded approvingly.

He filled in the fields as Udella recommended, "Right, an insult against me. Should I note that she seems to express a pattern of recklessness potentially endangering herself and the infirmary by needlessly traumatizing Awakened children? That is, after all, the chief practical concern in the long term..."

"Hum...well adding it will not hurt and it is a concern, a mage child when frightened enough can do allot of damage."
Udella said and frowned.
"I am not sure if it will be taken into consideration but mentioning is a good idea."

Anja's Post:

On being addressed, Nicole turned to see, then rose as the pair approached. Instinctively, Nicole proffered her own right hand, hesitated for a moment, then completed the movement.

'Thanks.' turning and giving a little friendly nod to the Hermetic.

"Very well then I can send you to Chicago let me just contact Morningstar first so you do not run smack into their wards."
He said and flipped up his phone and begun sending a message.

"Thanks that would be nice." Serge said.

He said the a wry smile.

"What do you mea-....ohhhhhh I get it." Serge said understanding what Narim meant.

"I thought their was a room full of arcane symbols or something but this is cool too. So your going to send me over to Chicago...like from right where I'm standing over there?" Serge inquired.

"You are going to have to be to train a child apprentice."
Crexia said wryly.
"Trust me I know."
Colin nodded, "And the child apprentice will only be the warmup for children of my own, I suppose... Still, there's the next great challenge to look forward to, and a far more pleasant one than cleaning out a couple of labyrinths..."

"Good though do remember that ship's last mission cost allot of good people their sanity and their lives, that ship should be very well cleansed before you even consider using it..."
The archmage warned and frowned.
He frowned, "I know... When I was on board to retrieve the fuel tanks I used in the labyrinth, I... realized I am able to scry on the past. Unshielded, unfocused, unprepared, and I saw the crew's terrified supposition of where they'd ended up - the Caul dimension, for lack of a better term - and I am rather grateful I didn't see... what happened to them after that. I think I ought to try to get a record of precisely what happened there before all traces of the events are purged - put their souls to rest, as it were... It won't be pleasant, but it will be... necessary."

"I would like to have some relief to offer victims of Branding as well...that would make things easier on some of my clients."
Udella said.
He nodded, "I'll make sure to get the, er, recipe."

Crexia raised and eyebrow.
"Well I do wonder how that happened."
She commented.
"Off course neither I nor the honored Quesitor should be told any illegal details, but yes that will stir things up, I do pity the girl though."
He shrugged and glanced at Adley, "I don't know how she found out, exactly - but a message was sent to Master Senex for his counsel; I suppose would not be impossible for his apprentice to have overheard and decided to act on her own."

"And you spending two days in a pain induced near coma."
Crexia reminded you.
"But yes things do seam to have worked out for the best in the end."
He grimaced, "Yes, well, there's no growth without pain, and having one's Avatar actually grow in strength is pretty... significant, I guess."

Crexia nodded at that.
"So it is, I just hope we do not loose you in the process Mr Wainwright."
He smiled wryly, "I should most certainly prefer not to be lost, myself."

"Yes you are probably right about that...which will make her easier to dispose of if you get the chance."
Crexia said wryly.
He nodded, "On the assumption that the polyp has some mobility still - I think I would counsel against that, at least until everything else is done and over with. Suddenly having the entire battleground decide to bugger off into the Deep Umbra would probably not be good for anyone's health."

"That is useful information old friend is that from one of your visions?"
Udella asked.
"Using lucky based magick to get around hum...well it could work but by the very nature of luck it would not be reliable."
He nodded, "That Seeking i had, where I accidentally infiltrated a Battlecruiser over Horizon and..."
He dragged a palm across his face, "...and killed Beatrice's reincarnation after reminding her how kindly I treated her..."
He shook his head, "No, I would not want to risk tinkering too much with the controls - but it does remain a possibility for navigation."

Crexia nodded and said nothing further about it. Udella looked at you for a while and put her hand gently on your arm in a comforting manner.
"You have a new Cabal now old friend, one to protect and care for, it will go better this time."
He nodded, "A new Cabal... Yes, but considering how many old, familiar souls I've come across this week, I do wonder whether I've already met other members of the..."
He paused, staring into empty space for a moment, "You know, it's odd, how I've started noticing it more since Mia made herself known, but Freddy does resemble Eloine to some extent, and she quite favours green."
He paled a little, "And the Union tried to feed her to their Computer, but the computer refused to eat her Avatar... What if that computer believes itself to be Teomim, or Moloch?"

He frowned, "Nobody would know, but... Two Avatars, two minds, if they both went into a Quiet at the same time, feeding off one another... it might create an infinite loop - a twisted spiral."

"That might be so but once we get this paperwork done we could both need some sleep old friend."
Udella said with a tired smile.
He nodded, "Agreed... That cup of... ink can wait until we've had our eight hours or thereabouts."

"Very well Anna Wainwright then, a good name for the girl."
The Quesitor said and nodded approvingly.
He smiled wryly, "Well, the only other name I could think of right away would be DuMonte, and that would raise some uncomfortable questions..."

"Hum...well adding it will not hurt and it is a concern, a mage child when frightened enough can do allot of damage."
Udella said and frowned.
"I am not sure if it will be taken into consideration but mentioning is a good idea."
He nodded, "If the case will be treated as a series of offenses, that aspect could well be taken into consideration as a Chantrywide concern, as well as simply a matter of worried parents and Mentors... Now, let's see, witnesses - Alex Horton was the one who let me know of the crisis; do you think he will suffice? And then... let's see, is there a field for requested disciplinary action?"

"Being stabbed several times is not lightly..." he muttered. "He gets stabbed too often for my liking, I wish he and Fran could be here with us resting," he said with a frown of concern. For most of that conversation he simply sat there, tired-looking and withdrawn, as if he had nothing much to add on top of what Colin was already saying.

He smiled, "And here I thought a Flambeau would be all in favour of a baptism by fire."

He smiled back with a nod. "There, you have your rebuttal to any argument if you need it for my pater," he said.

He made a face of disgust. "I hate Nephandi bioarchitecture...but that is good to know, just in case."

He paused, staring into empty space for a moment, "You know, it's odd, how I've started noticing it more since Mia made herself known, but Freddy does resemble Eloine to some extent, and she quite favours green." He paled a little, "And the Union tried to feed her to their Computer, but the computer refused to eat her Avatar... What if that computer believes itself to be Teomim, or Moloch?"

"Far be it from me to say otherwise, for it has become that kind of week somehow, that everyone I thought I knew, I knew before...and that would make Freddy..." He shook his head. "But how she looks might just be that part of your...avatar has a rememberence and preference. The other points however..." He shook his head. "How would this Computer think itself to be a mage, or even a god?"

Just like one can become lost to Jhor one can become so lost in Clarity that one can never return, these magi are forces of Stasis and nothing else, they are generally not called Marauders but they are the same thing only they are not Dynamic they are so trapped in the Static they...have become something inhuman..." Crexia muttered her voice was strangely far of and she was shivering slightly. "That is a terrible end to a willworker's path and my greatest fear, considering what I am chances are great I will become such a horror one day, and...I can not even be put out of my misery when I do...if that happened to Teomim...I am not so sure their fate in Council hands where any crueler." She muttered then she took a deep breath clearly embarrassed by her own emotion. "Ehm...sorry I em...well...yes well Teomim getting trapped in his on Clarity is an possibility for the birth of Malek..." She said clearly flustered and trying to hide her own fear.

Adley sighed, not seeming to take notice of how flustered Crexia had become. "It seems at least plausible. Though what we're concerned with is that we avoid taking a path that leads to that same place."

He nodded, "I did get some rest earlier, and I... have a little more experience with combat fatigue than you do, I think, though it's been a few years. I can get some paperwork done before I need to sleep."

"You have a lot more experience in general when it comes to being in prolonged combat, amicus, this is my first long campaign you know, at least in this life," he sighed, still a bit embarrassed. "I am not so overproud as to say otherwise."

// Haha, as a person from RI IRL, I found it hilarious when I tried to order coffee milk in FL when I visited there - I got a coffee and a glass of milk xD

Nicole:

Renee shook your hand gently then sat down opposite you at your table.
"Did your journey go well?"
She asked then she got into the more serious topics.
"I hear from your teacher that you are looking for a Chantry to join is that so? We are getting rather full here at Westchapel, however I have asked around a bit and a another mixed Chantry in Boston, Steelhaven is willing to take you in, they are a good place, with good people."
The Etherite said then she sigh.
"Off course you are arriving at a bit of a chaotic time...I do not know if you have heard?"

Serge:

"Thanks that would be nice." Serge said.

Narim sent his message and got a reply.
"Morningstar is willing to accept you as a visitor, if you come with me to my office then..."
The Virtual Adept said.

"What do you mea-....ohhhhhh I get it." Serge said understanding what Narim meant.

"I thought their was a room full of arcane symbols or something but this is cool too. So your going to send me over to Chicago...like from right where I'm standing over there?" Serge inquired.

"I am sending you to such a place since Chantry Morningstar have a portal chamber but I will be running the program myself and not rely on their Hermes portal."
The Virtual Adept said as he begun walking.
"Well I was thinking of sending you to Chicago from my office, I can do it with my phone but I prefer the greater control a proper computer give me, I might be old fashioned that way."
He smiled as little.
"So do you have everything you need Mr Yager?"

Colin and Adley:

Colin nodded, "And the child apprentice will only be the warmup for children of my own, I suppose... Still, there's the next great challenge to look forward to, and a far more pleasant one than cleaning out a couple of labyrinths..."

"Well yes a child apprentice would be good training for children of your own, I have never had children, and as a lich I can't have them, not that my Longevity potions did not make me sterile long before I became such a creature however I hear that many find great joy in raising children."
Crexia said and smiled.
"I wish you the best with it."

It won't be pleasant, but it will be... necessary."

"Yes i heard you mention that, it would explain the state of the Serafina when she was found, and the state of the crew."
The archmage sigh.
"It can not have been an easy thing to see Mr Wainwright. I do agree with you though having some sort of record to appease the dead might be, necessary but are you sure you want to take on such a task? It is not without it's risks."

He nodded, "I'll make sure to get the, er, recipe."

"Thank you young man I am much obliged."
Udella said with a nod in your direction.

He shrugged and glanced at Adley, "I don't know how she found out, exactly - but a message was sent to Master Senex for his counsel; I suppose would not be impossible for his apprentice to have overheard and decided to act on her own."

"Well it is a good enough explanation for how the Blade of Senex found out that there is no need to go digging for further explanations."
Crexia said and she glanced over at Adley as well.
"In either case it was a courageous thing she did, poor woman she must have known such an action would finally get the Traditions to act against her."

He grimaced, "Yes, well, there's no growth without pain, and having one's Avatar actually grow in strength is pretty... significant, I guess."

"True enough, and like I said all well that end's well but that was a dangerous situation that could have ended very differently."
Crexia said and frowned.

He smiled wryly, "I should most certainly prefer not to be lost, myself."

"Indeed..."
Was all she had to say about that.

He nodded, "On the assumption that the polyp has some mobility still - I think I would counsel against that, at least until everything else is done and over with. Suddenly having the entire battleground decide to bugger off into the Deep Umbra would probably not be good for anyone's health."

"Ah yes you do have a point there Mr Wainwright that would be most...impractical."
Crexia said and raised an eyebrow.
"Taking down the Handler should probably wait until everyone is safely out of the Labyrinth then."

Udella looked at you for a moment and patted your hand with her own.
"I am sure that is a painful memory but it do not have to turn out like that, perhaps Miss Alexander will not die, she might survive and become an old crone like me one day and you will never have to harm her."
She said softly.
"And besides in that possible future perhaps death is better than being forever shackled to such a creature as those battle ships. As for the controls to much tampering is probably not good but knowing they are there are useful non the less."

"It would not be beyond the realm os possibility that the lower of one life be reborn into another. I did not really get a chance to meet Miss...ehm Adlebloom was it...before she returned to Boston but it might be, I guess that if she is Eloine then you will know in time, there will be signs."
The old Quesitor said and nodded.
"Well once one begin to notice such things it is hard to stop."

He paled a little, "And the Union tried to feed her to their Computer, but the computer refused to eat her Avatar... What if that computer believes itself to be Teomim, or Moloch?"

Crexia's attention snapped to you and Udella's conversation some urgency on her doll like features.
"What...the Computer refused to eat Miss Adlebloom's Avatar...are you sure?"
She asked.
"That might be very significant...it could have such a belief that I do not know but...if your theory is correct that is a quite disturbing idea."

He frowned, "Nobody would know, but... Two Avatars, two minds, if they both went into a Quiet at the same time, feeding off one another... it might create an infinite loop - a twisted spiral."

"That is certainly an unpleasant idea."
Crexia said and frowned.

He nodded, "Agreed... That cup of... ink can wait until we've had our eight hours or thereabouts."

The old Enforcer nodded at that.
"We should have plenty of time after we sleep until the time bubble is set to end."
She said.
"And I for one at least need rest, I am not as young as when you first met me old friend."

He smiled wryly, "Well, the only other name I could think of right away would be DuMonte, and that would raise some uncomfortable questions..."

"Yes no I do not think that would be a good idea..."
Udella said and frowned.

"It might be enough to claim that Miss Bosh endangered the Chantry with her actions but it is a stench but seeing as this case will be hard to persecute in any regard you might as well throw it on there, and yes Alex Horton should do as a witness."
Udella said as she pointed out where you could write up suggested disciplinary actions.
"Yes right here."

"No getting stabbed is a serious affair but your Chantrymates do seam to be doing well regardless and I am sure they are getting some rest, watching over a sleeping twelve year old is not labor intensive work."
Crexia said.
"A bit of a reason for the time bubble was so that Mr Wainwright could test the effect of the serum and not be rendered helpless for long."

He shook his head. "How would this Computer think itself to be a mage, or even a god?"

"It could be in the programming Sodalis or perhaps the computer is something else entirely which is what I suspect, why would an self aware computer program have any desire to eat Avatars? Something about that just do not add up."
Crexia said and frowned.

Adley sighed, not seeming to take notice of how flustered Crexia had become. "It seems at least plausible. Though what we're concerned with is that we avoid taking a path that leads to that same place."

"Hum...well not falling into a to Static path is one thing but something else must have happened in that alternative future to tip Teomim over the edge, getting a bit of Static Resonance would not be enough."
Crexia said as she tried to calm herself down and keep her well maintained dignity intact.
"It is a possibility however to avoid that path we still need to figure out what happened to Teomim in the Master Seer's vision."

"You have a lot more experience in general when it comes to being in prolonged combat, amicus, this is my first long campaign you know, at least in this life," he sighed, still a bit embarrassed. "I am not so overproud as to say otherwise."

"You also used the Verbena's method to draw Vis from their own life force, that takes it's toll Sodalis you have nothing to be embarrassed about you are doing well young Flambeau, now get some sleep, with rest and a good breakfast when you wake I am sure you will be feeling better."

(OOC: And from the sound of it I got ready with the post just in time to run and stop my cat from whatever mischief she is up to, it sounds like she is tearing a plastic bag to shreds out in the hallway. Razz )

"So do you have everything you need Mr Yager?"

"Sketchbook, pencils, my phone, drugs that I sincerely hope I don't have to ingest, yeah I think I have everything." Serge said with a nod.

Serge followed the Virtual Adept to his office.

Narim took you to a small office, there was a wood desk there with two computer screens, there where two chairs in front of the desk, on the walls there where a few movie posters. Narim got behind his desk and started typing on his computer.

"Yes more control would be nice." Serge said smiling as he walked alongside the virtual adept. "So you going to use a computer? Is it going to be like star trek's transporters?" Serge said jokingly to calm down his own nerves.

"I do use computers yes, I find that to be a good tool to assess the information that make up the universe."
The Virtual Adept said and smiled.
"And you wish sure I can make the teleportation have such an effect I ended up making a Diablo town portal yesterday when working in concert with some Hermetics, but generally I just shift your placement in the information matrix from here to there."
He said.

Sketchbook, pencils, my phone, drugs that I sincerely hope I don't have to ingest, yeah I think I have everything." Serge said with a nod.

"Very well, anything else then or should I just send you over there, my program is ready."
Narim said and looked at you then he smiled.
"And do not worry it is not dangerous I know what I am doing, but when you are not used to being teleported around you can feel a bit odd when you reach your destination."

And I do have a few ideas as for how to get the information without... being exposed to the sights directly. I think - in fact, I'm fairly sure - that I can fashion a camera lens that will allow a video camera to capture events at another time, without me necessarily having to look at it all as I go along... He smiled wryly, "Any injury that allows you to make your own way back to medical assistance, as opposed to having to be carried, tends to qualify as 'lightly'. Though I'll acknowledge that with magical medical attention, our perspectives may be slightly skewed."

He nodded, "And while I trust Adjan remarkably far, the subject matter of what we needed to discuss here is... perhaps a little too much for now."

"True enough, and like I said all well that end's well but that was a dangerous situation that could have ended very differently."
Crexia said and frowned.
He nodded, "It could easily have gone worse, but it seems Mia took over the defensive work as I was... not in full control of my faculties."

He smiled back with a nod. "There, you have your rebuttal to any argument if you need it for my pater," he said.
He smiled, "Because of course that's going to calm him down, playing on your House stereotypes like that..."

"Ah yes you do have a point there Mr Wainwright that would be most...impractical."
Crexia said and raised an eyebrow.

He made a face of disgust. "I hate Nephandi bioarchitecture...but that is good to know, just in case."
He grimaced, "You'll hear no argument from me there... For that matter, Anna and Allison also look forward to staying somewhere without genitalia and eyes on the walls. Hum, I told Allison I'd had a future vision where an old friend of mine had apprenticed her - didn't name names, though."

He nodded, "It's not only a physical resemblance - there's something in the way she stands, how she is... comfortable in her own skin, as it were. But, it's hardly more than circumstantial evidence, or possibly wishful thinking."

He nodded, "That's how she told me the story; she was captured by the Union, and that... part of it is why she has some issues with seizures and a bit of... cranial damage. And yes, the idea is dreadfully disturbing..."

"It could be in the programming Sodalis or perhaps the computer is something else entirely which is what I suspect, why would an self aware computer program have any desire to eat Avatars? Something about that just do not add up."
Crexia said and frowned.
He pondered, "The Union does believe the Avatar resides in a gland in the brain - I suppose the Computer could be extracting those glands to try to keep them artificially alive - to use the power of Avatars for its own purposes, comparable to the Heart of Horizon being powered by its Captain's Avatar..."

"That is certainly an unpleasant idea."
Crexia said and frowned.
Adley sighed, not seeming to take notice of how flustered Crexia had become. "It seems at least plausible. Though what we're concerned with is that we avoid taking a path that leads to that same place."
He nodded, "That path is closed off to me, it seems. That's not to say I won't have my... episodes, of course, but at least the Moloch outcome won't be mine."

He nodded, "Being poisoned with unexpectedly heavily Resonated Tass could probably do it - tricking them into meditating in a powerful, sanitized Node would be a dirty, but plausible trick. But, we're drifting into the realm of idle speculations on what-might-have-beens. Best table it until we have something more tangible to go on..."

"You have a lot more experience in general when it comes to being in prolonged combat, amicus, this is my first long campaign you know, at least in this life," he sighed, still a bit embarrassed. "I am not so overproud as to say otherwise."
He picked at his scars with a wry grin, "Well, so long as you come out of your first campaign looking more presentable than I did from mine, I will have no complaints."

"You also used the Verbena's method to draw Vis from their own life force, that takes it's toll Sodalis you have nothing to be embarrassed about you are doing well young Flambeau, now get some sleep, with rest and a good breakfast when you wake I am sure you will be feeling better."
He nodded sagely, "What she said."

The old Enforcer nodded at that.
"We should have plenty of time after we sleep until the time bubble is set to end."
She said.
"And I for one at least need rest, I am not as young as when you first met me old friend."
He smiled, "I suppose that is true for all of us - time keeps ticking along... and I am not immune to fatigue, either."

He nodded, "Good... Let's see, how to phrase it - I want her barred from pediatric care, to avoid another incident where a child is forced and terrified to the point of lashing out in self defense. Nurse Bosh got away with a kick this time, but a what would happen if a Child with some ability with fire or flesh were to be riled up in such a manner?"

"Don't worry, I'm from the Cult of Ecstasy, I'm used to feeling odd and uncomfortable. Not to mention I kind of have experience with transporting to other...places." Serge said remembering the details of his awakening.

"I don't think their's anything else that I need. I'm ready to be transported approximately 850 miles. Activate the program at any time." Serge said mentally preparing himself for the journey.

Colin:

He smiled back, "Thank you. Hum, come to think of it, the old Hermetic Longevity potions might have had something to do with why children among Magi have been uncommon - some recipients of it, such as miss Jerkins downstairs, did not know about that side effect until she wished for... well, thus she begat her children, and things took a turn for the disturbing..."

"It is certainly a reason why children are not common among Hermetics, in addition children takes allot of time and effort and many mages prefer to spend their time studying, mostly I think it is a culture problem where we are sort of encouraged not to have children."
Crexia said then she frowned.
"Yes Miss Jerkins' children...not plesant creatures..."

He nodded, "Want to is not the exactly right word for it - feel an obligation to is more accurate. And I do have a few ideas as for how to get the information without... being exposed to the sights directly. I think - in fact, I'm fairly sure - that I can fashion a camera lens that will allow a video camera to capture events at another time, without me necessarily having to look at it all as I go along... I will test that idea elsewhere, of course."

"A form of technomagick then...quite interesting. I can also see how such a spell would be a good way to gather evidence for a Enforcer as well."
Crexia said and nodded.
"And you are right the dead ones deserve a record of what happened to them, but watching what you film though...if your rote works, that will not be easy."

He nodded, "I don't suppose there's anything Senex could do to protect his apprentice after she willfully assaulted a member of her own Tradition..."

"No...she have stepped over a line. Amanda was left alone since no one wanted to get into a conflict with the Old Man, but after this, if he decide to fight to protect her he would have to bring Cerberus into war with the Traditions and he will never do that...all he can do is get her a good legal defense and I doubt that will help much."
Crexia said and shook her head sadly.

He nodded, "And while I trust Adjan remarkably far, the subject matter of what we needed to discuss here is... perhaps a little too much for now."

"I would limit who are told yes..."
Crexia said.

He nodded, "It could easily have gone worse, but it seems Mia took over the defensive work as I was... not in full control of my faculties."

"You have an interesting Avatar there Mr Wainwright, yes it seams she saved your along with herself."
The archmage said and smiled, you felt Mia shift a little around inside your soul.

He nodded, "And even that's assuming I feel confident in a clear shot. I will give priority to a clean getaway over a clean kill... even if letting her live is a long-term risk. It all boils down to the circumstances in which I find her..."

"Agreed that is the best tactical way to look at it, and I would prefer one Nephanda left alive and most of my team safe than to kill her and get the rest of your group killed as well, your main goal should be to distract her from using the ship against the strike team."
The old Tytalus said and nodded approvingly.

He sighed, "Whether or not that particular chain of events will ever come to pass... I will still remember what I... would have done."

"Yes...yes I suppose you always will."
Udella said and sigh.

He grimaced, "You'll hear no argument from me there... For that matter, Anna and Allison also look forward to staying somewhere without genitalia and eyes on the walls. Hum, I told Allison I'd had a future vision where an old friend of mine had apprenticed her - didn't name names, though."

Udella just gave a warm smile to that but she said nothing.

He nodded, "It's not only a physical resemblance - there's something in the way she stands, how she is... comfortable in her own skin, as it were. But, it's hardly more than circumstantial evidence, or possibly wishful thinking."

"Well hum...your Avatar could be recognizing her, I can not say if it is true or not but it is not impossible."
Udella said then she looked up at the roof for a moment.
"I almost hope that she is not Eloine's reincarnation I have seen quite a few complications when lovers from former lives find one another again, questions if it is her or the past like memory you love, it can be messy."

He nodded, "That's how she told me the story; she was captured by the Union, and that... part of it is why she has some issues with seizures and a bit of... cranial damage. And yes, the idea is dreadfully disturbing..."

"Poor woman, and she is lucky to be alive and complete then."
Udella said.
"But I do wonder why the Computer refused the sacrifice of her soul even if I am glad that it did..."
She said and frowned.

"That is possible...I defended a Virtual Adept last year, I got him away from an execution but he was temporarily branded, the Sons of Ether clinic was able to keep him comfortable while he healed using morphine he completely believed his Avatar was a part of his brain and that is what ha been marked...the Computer harvesting glands are not out of the realm of possibility..."
Udella said and shuddered Crexia nodded.
"The Chief's apprentice who was Gilgulled by the Union he have scars in his scalp and do not let anyone except that Mercere boy touch his head, he gets hysterical if anyone tries...hum...the question is what the Computer would be doing with these glands if your theory is correct Mr Wainwright."

He nodded, "That path is closed off to me, it seems. That's not to say I won't have my... episodes, of course, but at least the Moloch outcome won't be mine."

"That is a relief off course but it do make me wonder if someone else out there will become Moloch and if they will end up on that dreaded path."
Crexia said and frowned.

"I agree we are now in the realm of idle speculation that will do us no good these are all possibilities but until we know more we can't really tell which path Moloch was on."
Crexia agreed and nodded.

He smiled, "I suppose that is true for all of us - time keeps ticking along... and I am not immune to fatigue, either."

"You can complain when you round six hundred old friend...however yes we both needs sleep, it have been a very long day."
Udella said and smiled.

"That works, I am not sure we can get such a reaction enacted but we can try and yes a child with...more directly active magickal powers might have lashed out far worse, unfortunately many seam to think force and pain are a good way to raise the young."
Udella said and sigh.

Serge:

"I see..." Serge said pretending as if he understood what the information matrix was.

Narim gave a bit of a smile at that and did not call your bluff.

"Don't worry, I'm from the Cult of Ecstasy, I'm used to feeling odd and uncomfortable. Not to mention I kind of have experience with transporting to other...places." Serge said remembering the details of his awakening.

"Good to hear it should not be to bad, about like stepping of from a roller coaster ride I guess."
The Virtual Adept said as he worked on his computer grinning a bit at your comments about your Tradition.
"I am not sure Mr Darehill would agree with that statement Mr Yager."

"I don't think their's anything else that I need. I'm ready to be transported approximately 850 miles. Activate the program at any time." Serge said mentally preparing himself for the journey.

"Very well stay safe Mr Yager and give my best to Mr Roth Hicks...and the other people we have over there please."
The Virtual Adept said with a soft smile. The suddenly you stood in a round room, there where symbols engraved on the walls and the floor, there where no flash of light or sensation at all you just suddenly where in the round room and that felt rather dizzying and confusing for a moment. There stood a young woman in the room towards the door, she was a teenager and pretty with large brown eyes and dressed in a simple green dress.
"Welcome to Morningstar Mr Yagar."
She said politely.
"I am Layla Wells second degree Hermetic apprentice, please let me take you where you need to go."

(OOC: Off course it was a very offensive plastic bag so Maude made confetti out of it and spread it everywhere. Razz )

'Journey was fine enough; did it in one yesterday.' Nicole replied, sitting back down. 'Yeah... thought a change of scenery might do me good.' glancing down at her hand for a second. 'So, what's this Steelhaven like, then? Heard of the Fallen... but not the details.' clearly a little suspicious.

He nodded, "I believe miss Willis in particular found them disturbing when I lent her the dagger for protection..."

He shrugged, "Not necessarily technomagic. More like pointing technology at a lens in time. Well, semantics, I guess..."

"I would limit who are told yes..."
Crexia said.
He nodded, "Perhaps some day..."

"You have an interesting Avatar there Mr Wainwright, yes it seams she saved your along with herself."
The archmage said and smiled, you felt Mia shift a little around inside your soul.
He nodded, scritching his scars absentmindedly, "Yes, twice now..."

He nodded, "We'll just have to see how things turn out..."

"Poor woman, and she is lucky to be alive and complete then."
Udella said.
"But I do wonder why the Computer refused the sacrifice of her soul even if I am glad that it did..."
She said and frowned.
He shrugged, "Virtually impossible to say without asking the Computer. I'm none too keen to try. For all we know, it's not something unique, and she is simply too Dynamic for its digestion or something of that sort..."

He frowned, "The first possibility that comes to mind is as a power source - it would be immensely powerful by now."

"That is a relief off course but it do make me wonder if someone else out there will become Moloch and if they will end up on that dreaded path."
Crexia said and frowned.
He pondered, "I would hazard the D'Angelo twins are on that path, as is the Computer... though that is not to say that either of them will walk the path to its conclusion."

"You can complain when you round six hundred old friend...however yes we both needs sleep, it have been a very long day."
Udella said and smiled.
He frowned, "I... don't know if I will be here by then. At some point in the future, Freddy will leave to become a Postulant, and... it seems I'll already have been gone for at least a century. She seemed to miss me, but she didn't tell me what happened - thank goodness. At the very least... whatever will be my fate didn't seem to have been too traumatic."

"That works, I am not sure we can get such a reaction enacted but we can try and yes a child with...more directly active magickal powers might have lashed out far worse, unfortunately many seam to think force and pain are a good way to raise the young."
Udella said and sigh.
He nodded, "I've no desire for her to be flogged or anything of the sort - I'm furious, but not so much so as to lose perspective..."

Nicole:

"Sometimes a change of scenery is the just what the doctor ordered."
Renee said and smiled.
"Steelhaven is usually peaceful it is a mixed Tradition Chantry though there are a majority of Hermetics. The Chantry is in an old apartment building, nothing to fancy but it is nice enough is there anything in particular you want to know? As for the Fallen, well the Nephandi are a faction of mages just like us, only their goal in life seam to be to destroy the world...actually, literary destroy the world...so they are not the nicest people in existence."
The Etherite said and frowned.

Colin:

He nodded, "I believe miss Willis in particular found them disturbing when I lent her the dagger for protection..."

"Well to be fair the creatures did start to treat Miss Willis as their mother..."
Crexia said.
"Do you still have Miss Jerkins' dagger by the way?"

He shrugged, "Not necessarily technomagic. More like pointing technology at a lens in time. Well, semantics, I guess..."

"Yes I think that difference is down to semantics indeed, but yes it might be a useful rote...perhaps some of our technomancers have already done something similar, I will have to check that."
The archmage said and nodded.

He nodded, "Perhaps some day..."

"Yes one day when the situation is safer."
Crexia commented.

He nodded, scritching his scars absentmindedly, "Yes, twice now..."

"You are turning out to be a rather durable man Mr Wainwright."

He nodded, "We'll just have to see how things turn out..."

"I am hoping it will go well for you old friend."
Udella said and smiled.

He shrugged, "Virtually impossible to say without asking the Computer. I'm none too keen to try. For all we know, it's not something unique, and she is simply too Dynamic for its digestion or something of that sort..."

"Well no I would not want to get close enough to ask the Computer itself no...and it might be Miss Adlebloom's Avatar did not...fit it's taste the explanation might be as simple as that, it is something to keep in mind though."
Udella said then she gave a wry grin.
"I would perhaps though not mention for Miss Adlebloom that the reason she was spared might be that her Avatar is not tasty enough she might take that the wrong way."

He frowned, "The first possibility that comes to mind is as a power source - it would be immensely powerful by now."

"That is a terrifying prospect."
The old Enforcer said.
"And yes it would be immensely powerful if that where the case."

He pondered, "I would hazard the D'Angelo twins are on that path, as is the Computer... though that is not to say that either of them will walk the path to its conclusion."

"Having two candidates instead of one do not exactly put my mind at ease Mr Wainwright."
Crexia said and frowned.

"Hum...that is not good news, then again our fate is our own so you might be able to avoid whatever is your doom."
Udella said and sigh.
"And if not then hopefully you will have some good years before then, with your wife and future children."

He nodded, "I've no desire for her to be flogged or anything of the sort - I'm furious, but not so much so as to lose perspective..."

Corporal punishment is not common on Morningstar, the most likely punishment is to have to make an public apology to you and your new apprentice."
Udella said and frowned.
"It seams Morningstar's Deacons agree with me that pain seldom is a good teacher."

'Usually sensible... unless that doctor is Harold Shipman.' Nicole replied, picking up her coffee cup. On hearing that it was a Hermetic Chantry, a slight but definite wrinkle of the nose was visible. 'Yeah, I know of them, but are they actually going after us, or did we simply get in the way for their "Evil Plan of the Week"?' taking a sip of coffee.

Nicole:

"You are not to fond of the Order of Hermes I see."
Renee said as she looked at you.
"Well like I said the Chantry are mixed even if three of the five Deacons are Hermetics. As for the Nephandi the way I have been told mages from Steelhaved stumbled over a wounded Nephandus seeking shelter in their secondary Node, and that led to discovering some rather nasty plans that needs to be stopped, so a little of both."
She said and and her frown deepened.
"Hopefully we can deal with their plans before they come to fruition."

Serge:

"Hi Layla. My name is Serge Yager. Serge said with a polite nod

"It is nice to meet you Mr Yager."
Layla said politely and smiled she said nothing about your apparent surprise at the speed of teleportation.

"I'm going to need to speak with Cara Willis. It's actually quite urgent."

"Off course Sir I think I saw Miss Willis in the cafeteria, if you will follow me then."
The young apprentice said and turned to leave the portal chamber, she led the way through what had to be a basement, there where several people filling the hallways some of them casting glances at you. Layla took you up the stairs to the first floor and into a lobby with two staircases elegantly arching upwards to the higher floors and a mosaic of a star on the floor. Layla showed the way into a crowded room that looked a bit like Westchapel's cafeteria dotted with small round tables and several mages gathered around them, some still bloody and dirty from some fight. At a table in the corner sat a young woman, perhaps your age, she was pretty with light brown eyes, short brown hair and a cute face, she was wearing a crop top and jeans and one of her shoulders where bandaged, the oddest thing about her though where symbols carved into her flesh and allowed to heal forming raised scars and she had them everywhere, including in her face.
"That is Miss Willis."
Layla said and pointed at the woman with the marked skin.
"Is there anything else you need then Sir?"

Layla showed the way into a crowded room that looked a bit like Westchapel's cafeteria dotted with small round tables and several mages gathered around them, some still bloody and dirty from some fight.

Serge kept an eye on his surroundings. It was not often that he traveled this far and even in the dire circumstances he wanted to see what the entirely new chantry looked like.

"Hello my name is Serge Yager. Master Morgan sent me here because he wanted me to meet your student, Meg Lopes, who sent us a prophetic drawing with a somewhat dire warning on it." Serge began.

"I managed to interpret it somewhat and from what I managed to understand we are running out of time, the Nephandi are going to get the items they need for a ritual and a third attack may be imminent on Steelhaven. However there are still many things we still do not understand within the drawing. The brass key, the role of the naked women, and what role Horizon plays into it. Even the bloody knight still has some ambiguity to it. Master Morgan asked me to come here and see the picture in person and meet with your student to try and get a better understanding if the picture."

'I'm not prejudiced, but...' Nicole began, then gave a soft laugh on realising just how that line usually ended up. 'They're very... by the book. Everything has to be just so; like a Scientist who likes all the screws sorted by length, thickness and thread.' giving a shrug, clearly no fan of this.

'What... they were in the Node? Where the hell was security? And how do we know they're not a plant?'

"Well to be fair the creatures did start to treat Miss Willis as their mother..."
Crexia said.
"Do you still have Miss Jerkins' dagger by the way?"
Colin nodded and fished the blade out, placing it on the table, "Here it is... you will be wanting to keep it here, in case one of the little hellspawn got away..."

"Yes I think that difference is down to semantics indeed, but yes it might be a useful rote...perhaps some of our technomancers have already done something similar, I will have to check that."
The archmage said and nodded.
He nodded, "The rote will be a fairly simple scrying on the past, through a lens similar to my monocles. The only difference will be that it will be a camera that does the looking, rather than myself..."

"You are turning out to be a rather durable man Mr Wainwright."
He smiled wryly, "Quite so... Let's just hope the universe doesn't decide to keep upping the ante..."

He grinned wryly, "All things considered, I think she'll be quite fine with not being to the Computer's tastes."

"That is a terrifying prospect."
The old Enforcer said.
"And yes it would be immensely powerful if that where the case."
He nodded, then pondered, "Well, how powerful it is would rather depend on a few factors - namely how powerful the Avatars so extracted are, and how long it can keep a single gland alive like that. Granted, HIT-Marks are quite durable, but that's a mostly intact brain, not just a single gland..."
He frowned, "Oh, bugger, there it is... the serum does have one effect over time I did not mention earlier - with long-term use, there begins some cellular death in that particular gland, but like with the proper Lichdom potion, instead of causing dysfunction, it instead makes the link between the Avatar and the Mage stronger. If those glands are saturated in... fuck..."

"Having two candidates instead of one do not exactly put my mind at ease Mr Wainwright."
Crexia said and frowned.
He nodded, "As well it shouldn't - but it would be foolish to assume that even if only one Moloch can rise, that parallel evolution impossible, as it were. The prophecy could be interpreted to suggest multiple ways things could go wrong - who is to say none of those ways could be running parallel?"

"Hum...that is not good news, then again our fate is our own so you might be able to avoid whatever is your doom."
Udella said and sigh.
"And if not then hopefully you will have some good years before then, with your wife and future children."
He smiled thinly, "Oh, that's the thing - there's no reason to assume my, ah, departure was either violent or involuntary. For all we know, I'll become a Postulant myself, some 150 years before my wife... or perhaps another path of Ascension is opened up by then..."

Corporal punishment is not common on Morningstar, the most likely punishment is to have to make an public apology to you and your new apprentice."
Udella said and frowned.
"It seams Morningstar's Deacons agree with me that pain seldom is a good teacher."
He nodded, "Pain can be an excellent teacher, if it is immediate. Like how some people learn not to stick their finger in a mouse trap only by doing so in the first place... If there's any amount of time separating a mistake from the pain, however, any... educational value is lost with the association. Pain as a punitive measure is... poorly suited in most applications of it."

Wrapping up in Chicago, New Trouble at Home and Angry Magi IC Thread 20 - Page 15 Empty Re: Wrapping up in Chicago, New Trouble at Home and Angry Magi IC Thread 20

Post by Adley Sun Sep 10, 2017 6:55 pm

Colin nodded, "And the child apprentice will only be the warmup for children of my own, I suppose... Still, there's the next great challenge to look forward to, and a far more pleasant one than cleaning out a couple of labyrinths..."
"Well yes a child apprentice would be good training for children of your own, I have never had children, and as a lich I can't have them, not that my Longevity potions did not make me sterile long before I became such a creature however I hear that many find great joy in raising children." Crexia said and smiled. "I wish you the best with it."
Crexia said then she frowned."Yes Miss Jerkins' children...not plesant creatures..."

"Much more pleasant," he agreed, giving Colin a tired smile. "I never thought of having biological children; I just assumed that any apprentices I took would be my family, as she said...besides, there's other reasons. So it never minded me much." He shook his head at that last comment. "Disturbing is too mild a word..."

He nodded, "I believe miss Willis in particular found them disturbing when I lent her the dagger for protection..."

"I don't blame her, glad that they didn't harm her though."

It won't be pleasant, but it will be... necessary."
"Yes i heard you mention that, it would explain the state of the Serafina when she was found, and the state of the crew." The archmage sigh. "It can not have been an easy thing to see Mr Wainwright. I do agree with you though having some sort of record to appease the dead might be, necessary but are you sure you want to take on such a task? It is not without it's risks."

"I think it's better you didn't see that...I'm not sure how much a video would be able to spare you but I would suppose it's better than a direct view," he frowned. "But, that is where you found the pinecone, wasn't it? I feel there is more to the story, too. Like how did the ship even manage to do that, even on accident...it's worrying. Well, let me know what you find out."

He nodded, "On the assumption that the polyp has some mobility still - I think I would counsel against that, at least until everything else is done and over with. Suddenly having the entire battleground decide to bugger off into the Deep Umbra would probably not be good for anyone's health."
"Ah yes you do have a point there Mr Wainwright that would be most...impractical." Crexia said and raised an eyebrow. "Taking down the Handler should probably wait until everyone is safely out of the Labyrinth then."

"Traversing the Umbra is difficult enough, out in the Deep?" he shook his head.

"No getting stabbed is a serious affair but your Chantrymates do seam to be doing well regardless and I am sure they are getting some rest, watching over a sleeping twelve year old is not labor intensive work." Crexia said. "A bit of a reason for the time bubble was so that Mr Wainwright could test the effect of the serum and not be rendered helpless for long."

Yes, I think it's important to remember that sometimes...magical medical attention as you call it is indeed a boon, but not one that should be taken for granted."

He nodded, "And while I trust Adjan remarkably far, the subject matter of what we needed to discuss here is... perhaps a little too much for now."
He smiled wryly, "Any injury that allows you to make your own way back to medical assistance, as opposed to having to be carried, tends to qualify as 'lightly'. Though I'll acknowledge that with magical medical attention, our perspectives may be slightly skewed."

"I'm not saying the reason wasn't good, but they too have been through much. He nearly died in the last battle. i trust him too but some things are better kept close as we can, if we can. For now."

He smiled, "Because of course that's going to calm him down, playing on your House stereotypes like that..."

He gave a laugh at that. "Naturally..."

He sighed, "Whether or not that particular chain of events will ever come to pass... I will still remember what I... would have done."

"It's a terrible kind of burden, isn't it...?" he shook his head.

He grimaced, "You'll hear no argument from me there... For that matter, Anna and Allison also look forward to staying somewhere without genitalia and eyes on the walls. Hum, I told Allison I'd had a future vision where an old friend of mine had apprenticed her - didn't name names, though."

"Oh? And you think you know who that might be?" he asked.

He nodded, "It's not only a physical resemblance - there's something in the way she stands, how she is... comfortable in her own skin, as it were. But, it's hardly more than circumstantial evidence, or possibly wishful thinking."

He shrugged slightly. "I wouldn't dismiss it, if it feels true, the pattern will continue to emerge."

"Honestly, ma'am things have become quite...ah messy already, haven't they?"

He paled a little, "And the Union tried to feed her to their Computer, but the computer refused to eat her Avatar... What if that computer believes itself to be Teomim, or Moloch?"
Crexia's attention snapped to you and Udella's conversation some urgency on her doll like features. "What...the Computer refused to eat Miss Adlebloom's Avatar...are you sure?" She asked. "That might be very significant...it could have such a belief that I do not know but...if your theory is correct that is a quite disturbing idea."
Something about that just do not add up." Crexia said and frowned.

"Quite a few things..."

If those glands are saturated in... fuck..."

"This is the damage to the brain you mentioned?"

"The ship is powered by their avatar?" he asked, looking at him with surprise.

"Hum...well not falling into a to Static path is one thing but something else must have happened in that alternative future to tip Teomim over the edge, getting a bit of Static Resonance would not be enough." Crexia said as she tried to calm herself down and keep her well maintained dignity intact. "It is a possibility however to avoid that path we still need to figure out what happened to Teomim in the Master Seer's vision."

Adley rubbed at his chin and then ran a hand through his hair again, dropping his hand to his side. "Well...spirit does not technically limit itself to linear time, aside from our avatars when they are incarnated - in a way, we as hosts process our experiences via linear time because it is...confusing to say the least to 'be' all of those past hosts. And our avatars experience them with us, with partly our points of view as incarnated beings. When we have moments of uniting our memories with our avatars, we can transcend that sense of singularity, and so access things normally outside of our personal pasts. So I am coming to believe and seems to be the case for me lately at least. So, if that is so and if time is, as you say, in a bowl with many possibilities some of which never come to light, is it possible to navigate the timelines of our other hosts in some way?" he asked, looking at Colin. "The way I perceive it is that we have their Names, we know who they were and the circumstances surrounding events in question, and our spirits link us to that and you have no greater link than a part of your avatar. It's easier for me to understand how this makes a chain of our past, rather than the future or even things that never happened, but maybe some way can be figured out..." he thought out loud.

"Yes, of course, pardon my speculation..."

He picked at his scars with a wry grin, "Well, so long as you come out of your first campaign looking more presentable than I did from mine, I will have no complaints."

"We shall do our best..."

"Thank you," he said.
