[Cabal Meeting]

"You are aware that you would probably be the one to contribute the most to this sarcasm jar right Colin?"
Bruce said sounding amused.
He frowned, "Well, bugger, I knew there was something I overlooked. Oh, well, I'll have to reconsider, then..."

"Oh, I don't know. His humor is more dry and punny than sarcastic, like most other New Englanders are sarcastic."

He arched an eyebrow, "No? No, you're right... hum, timelines again, I think. Still, you've got a better grasp of manipulating physics than I do yet."

He raised an eyebrow. "Not yet, but I think that I can. Being in my condition though, I shouldn't try until I am well. You've seen me work with fire and light though."

He pondered, "I suppose 'Sergios' would sound more Greek... Don't know what the Greek for 'Hunter' would be, though. Adley?"
"Huh, I thought it was greek. I guess I was thinking on similar lines to Perseus." Serge said evenly

"Kynigós would be hound leader, as in Orion the Hunter and more likely to carry the correct connotation. Serge may be derived from ancient Greek or before; the word in Greek means silken, sērikós. So we'd have The Silken Hunter. Perseus is an interesting name with a debated origin. One reasoning for the '-eus' ending is that such suffixes were added to form an agent noun. Agent nouns are those that are derived from verbs, for example, if you take the verb 'to bake,' the agent verb would be 'baker'. In this case that is added to a word that seems to share a root with 'perthein' in Greek, 'pers-'; assuming that, Perseus meant the destroyer, ravager or sacker."

He grinned, "Hence I used the plural. And yes, it worked surprisingly well; perhaps we can make a few older and sager Masters scratch their heads at how we pulled it off?"

"We should teach everyone that can how to do that, it's effective against Qlippothic ars..."

He gave him a dirty look, "The Sarcasm Jar isn't set up yet; kind of hard to have lost my cookie jar next to a future possibility... for now."

He gave him a smile. "Well, thank you for giving my brother some cookies then."

He grinned slyly, "True enough, perhaps a piercing... I'm sure you'd look great with a small silver earring, or perhaps you'd prefer something more exotic, like a nipple ring or somesuch?"
"Piercings can be stolen as well it just hurts more."
Bruce commented dryly.

He winced. "I don't know about more, but that would be distracting, if it got...ah, forcibly removed. Maybe an earring I can do, if the back end won't jab me in the neck. Exotic..." he shook his head. "I have no tattoos or piercings, or wear jewelry and my clothing are utilitarian for the most part. I suppose though knowing a jewelry maker I should probably try to find some aesthetic...not that I will afford such luxuries for some while, of course. But such things do make effective things to imbue with a spell in a pinch."

Bruce nodded at that.
"Thank you Adley."

Adley looked at Bruce, sighed then dug into a pocket and pulled out some parking meter quarters and shoved them over to Colin.

[Chicago, Crexia's rooms]

"Premonitions Sodalis, still weak and vague enough that it is har to know for sure what will happen but I know more death and trouble is coming, and I do not know how to stop it."
Crexia said and she frowned.
"And I do not think we have seen the last of the Nephandi and their servants."

"Damn, but I can't say that I am surprised. If there's anything with more clarity to it...well, let us know please. As much as warnings from the future can sometimes aggrivate me as it makes me feel out of control, I can't discount that such has saved our lives more than once."

[Chicago, Morningstar library]

You got to the library, it was a large room filled with rows of shelves, in one corner there was a small desk with a greed top, Master Antonius sat at this desk sleeping with Granite in his lap. Near the oor where a small table and some old armchairs, Deaconess Rose sat in one of these chairs as Isabella placed several books before her.
"These might contain the information you are looking for Deaconess Rose."
The vampiress said an Madeline looked up from the books she was already reading and nodded.
"Thank you Miss Jarden."
She said and then she noticed you entering.
"Good evening Mr Roth Hicks."
She said and Isabella bowed to you.
"Good evening, may I help you?"
Granite looked in your direction as you entered and mau happily.

"Miss Jarden, Deaconess, good evening," he said with a nod. "I was wondering if I could speak with you about a private matter, Deaconess? If you can spare a few moments..."

// lol if you want I don't mind if we can close up the cabal meeting soon Anja if you got too many scenes on, we're mostly shooting the crap and the characters interacting IC for now if that's cool with everyone else ofc

"Oh, I don't know. His humor is more dry and punny than sarcastic, like most other New Englanders are sarcastic."

"True but he is also quite good at sarcasm, something I suspect among others Miss Rozzo will get to experience during their debate."
Bruce said and grinned.

"We should teach everyone that can how to do that, it's effective against Qlippothic ars..."

Bruce raised and eyebrow and looked in your direction.
"Now this sounds interesting."
He said and he leaned back in his chair.

He winced. "I don't know about more, but that would be distracting, if it got...ah, forcibly removed. Maybe an earring I can do, if the back end won't jab me in the neck. "A ring will not poke you in the neck, but yes someone could yank it out and that would sting."
Bruce commented.

[Chicago, Crexia's rooms]

"Damn, but I can't say that I am surprised. If there's anything with more clarity to it...well, let us know please. As much as warnings from the future can sometimes aggrivate me as it makes me feel out of control, I can't discount that such has saved our lives more than once."

"I will let your Chantry know if I get anymore than a vague feeling foreboding."
Crexia said and she frowned.
"Yes it is never good to relay to much on premonitions, after all the future is not set in stone, but they can be useful as warnings of things to come."

[Chicago, Morningstar library]

"Miss Jarden, Deaconess, good evening," he said with a nod. "I was wondering if I could speak with you about a private matter, Deaconess? If you can spare a few moments..."

"Off course if you wish you can come with me to my office."
Deaconess Rose said and she stood before addressing Isabella.
"Could you please bring the books I have chosen to my chamber Miss Jarden?"
She asked and the vampiress curtsy.
"Off course Deaconess Rose."
She said and she begun to gather up Madeline's books as she nodded to you.
"I hope you are well Mr Roth Hicks."
She asked as Madeline waited for your reply to her offer of joining her in her office.

(OOC: It is perfectly fine I just had to play catch up today since I could not write a post last night. I might be a bit slow tomorrow morning as well though as I have a early doctor's appointment to get a referral to an eye specialist who might be able to tell me why I look like a Spacing Guild Navigator. I will post when I get home.)

Isabella nodded.
"I understand, and off course, have a nice evening Sir."
She said as you followed the Deaconess out of the library and into her tidy office.
"Please make yourself comfortable."
She said and indicated a chair.
"Would you like some tea?"
The old Etherite asked then she sigh and nodded.
"What you said to Miss Jarden, I understand we won against the Fallen but...there where costs and tragedies following in victory's wake...and I have a feeling you are here to see me about one of those tragedies are you not Mr Roth Hicks?"
She asked as she put on the water cooker.

Re: Little Moments Between Steptember and November, Meetings and Endings Part 2 IC Thread 31

Post by Nicole Bouchard on Tue Oct 16, 2018 9:36 pm

[RI Roadtrip]

Adley's Post:
"Well, they probably won't be expecting to see you or be actively looking for you if it's been that long. Do you have a cover story that I need to know, if we should happen to run into someone? Or are you thinking we should try for a game in Boston? You seem half wanting to see what's changed. The other half, not so much."

'Hah, you know the tickets are all gone and can't afford a scalper.' Nicole replied dismissively. 'As for a cover story... how the hell do you explain the fact of vanishing without a word for over ten years? Not blind; they'll think I was greybarred or something.'

[Chantry]

Anja's Post:
"That plan is sound Miss Bouchard, I will take care of cutting their escape of with fire, though it would be easier for me to have the aid of oil or some flammable substance I can do so on my own as well."
Hildegard said and nodded.

'That was the intention. Going to take a few bottles of oil with me for it.'

Anja's Post:
"Well there is a goo chance the vampires will figure out that we have done this regardless an just slaughtering the enemy left and right do not sit well with me, I will kill to protect the innocent or someone who is trying to kill me, but once someone is helpless, I may be Euthanathos but I am not a cold blooded murderer."
Fran said and frowned.

A short pause, then gave a respectful nod. 'Need reasons? Okay. Targets are holding the folk at the yard hostage, so to speak; if they leave they'll be killed. One called bluff - they died. They're being charged their own fucking blood as "rent". Think they're being whored out to other vamps, me; y'know, cough up some green and chow down. The targets could easily kill all the folk there and nobody would give a shit about it.'

Anja's Post:
"I have killed vampires a couple of times but only when there have been extreme need, I am not a vampire hunter."
Hildegard who surprisingly seamed to take the reference said.
"I know a bit a about them, I have spoken with them a few times but never tried to take them down other than at the Labyrinth."
Fran said.
"I have fought them a few times to protect sleepers but never taken their lives."
Richard said.

A nod to this. 'Good. No idea what mojo they'll be able to pull tonight, but will say this to the virgins here - don't be taken in if one simply plays dead; they turn to dust when that really happens. Running on the theory these ones are just small fry, me... they're a bunch of dick-swingers, y'know all boastful and shit.'

'Immortal does not mean indestructible. Remember that.' trying to exude an aura of quiet confidence.

Anja's Post:
"Direction is just a part of the code, that code can be changed, I can have our fire come from anywhere you like, any direction or from the sky and the ground to if you prefer."
Jon said.
"I have not been in a situation like the one you mention but I get the point."

'Work out the details once we're at the yard. The pair there are doing prep of their own.'

Anja's Post:
"The slaves I don't know I would be hesitant to just kill living breathing human beings, they can be saves but as or the vampires, if we take a prisoner unless there are very good reasons not to probably we will have to execute said prisoner, though that will be up to the Chief."
Fran said and she frowned.

'Don't want to kill them either.' Nicole replied, looking to Fran. 'But if one raises a weapon at me or anyone on my side, they've just made themselves a target and are charged the price. And how will we know the slaves from the masters? Not like they wear handy labels or something.'

Anja's Post:
"I am the highest ranking sent on this mission, the Chief have left it to me but I am not used to leading combat missions as such, my recommendation would be if any of the slaves surrender, we take them prisoner and decide their fate later, taking one of the vampires prisoner would be useful, we accomplish nothing if we just kill of one limb of a group who use these poor pepole as a feeding ground, we need more information."
Hildegard said firmly.

'Seems fair enough.' Nicole replied, giving a shrug. 'Anyone got any cuffs and stakes, then?'

'Source of intel would be handy, but honestly don't want to risk anyone's hide here just for that.'

[Serge's Adventure]

Serge's Post:
"Don't undersell it. You gotta hype stuff up if you wanna sell it to a crowd." Serge said, although his interest in the jacket still remained as he watched Nicole like a hawk. Waiting for the moment where he expected her to disappear.

'Oh, can't do that. Violation of Scotty's Law; always pad estimates hugely, lowball predicted results.' Nicole replied with a smile. 'How else can I get a reputation of being a miracle-worker?'

Anja's Post:
As Nicole put the coat on she do get harder to notice, normally she sort of stand out like a sore thumb in most situation but with that coat she was just sort of there and easy to miss and somehow harder to see, though not invisible.

Serge's Post:
"Fuck, this is the exact sort of thing I've always wanted to create, just in coat form." Serge said with a smile, clearly enjoying the coats effects. Although, since his full attention never left Nicole it was hard to tell if it had effected him at all. "Mind if I try it on?"

'Always feels a bit weird wearing it.' Nicole replied in a thoughtful, slightly melancholic tone; perhaps suggesting a part of the Etherite liked to be noticed. 'But useful for when I've got to say gather intel and shit.'

'Try it on? But... it won't even fit you.' giving a puzzled look.

[Cabal Meeting]

Anja wrote:"Hum...thought so."
Bruce said as he regarded you.
"Not everything fit into your TV show stereotypes you know."

"I would love it if they did. Then I'd be guaranteed to win the paintball match. Beginner's luck + Underdog's advantage? I'd have a flawless victory until the match was interrupted by the bad guy of the week." Serge said with a smile.

Adley wrote:"Kynigós would be hound leader, as in Orion the Hunter and more likely to carry the correct connotation. "Man word etymology so neat. Like a small story wrapped up in a single word." Serge said with an interested look on his face. "The only thing I know about my name is that it might've come from France. And I think my mom might've been lying when she said that."

Anja wrote:"You would stuff your Avatar into a computer program and set it to fight for you in a duel?"
Bruce said and he raised an eyebrow.
"Well I have to admit kid that takes some balls."

"If my avatar can beat the shit out of me I should be able to dress him up and have him beat the shit out of everyone else." Serge said with a smile. "Won't lie, she'd probably enjoy it. She loves change and fighting in a core war would certainly be a drastic change in scenery that's for sure. ."

[Going to the Library]

Anja wrote:"I see, well it makes things a little harder for the rest of us to understand."
Kyle said and he nodded.

"You should try talking to Deaconess O'Connor. Even I have trouble understanding her sometimes." Serge said with a small chuckle.

Anja wrote:"Yeah it is possible, absolutely possible it it is more advanced."
Kyle said then he smiled.
"Well then again I do not know the limits of your abilities though Serge."

"Yeah. For all you know I could have master-level abilities." Serge said making jazz hands in a sort of mystical way. "Or I could be weaker than an initiate. Even I don't really know. I'm literally not allowed to use the limits of my abilities. Just small portions from time to time."

Anja wrote:"Yeah sorry, I should not have reacted as strongly."
Kyle said apologetically.
"Tell you what we ave chosen some books, what if we register that we are borrowing them and then go up to my apartment, I can make some hot cocoa, I made some for my brother last night and he seamed to like it."
The boy offered.
"And talk of other things.

"Right, you have an apartment now." Serge said with a smile. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I still need to see it after all. And I still have a bit more time so let's go."

[Serge's Adventure]

Nicole wrote:'Oh, can't do that. Violation of Scotty's Law; always pad estimates hugely, lowball predicted results.' Nicole replied with a smile. 'How else can I get a reputation of being a miracle-worker?'

"Scotty's Law? I guess that's one way to talk about the Law of Shade." Serge said with a grin. "I assume that's what you meant."

Nicole wrote:'Always feels a bit weird wearing it.' Nicole replied in a thoughtful, slightly melancholic tone; perhaps suggesting a part of the Etherite liked to be noticed. 'But useful for when I've got to say gather intel and shit.'

'Try it on? But... it won't even fit you.' giving a puzzled look.

"Who cares? It's a spy coat! Who wouldn't wanna wear that. Come on! Share with your friends! Give it here." Serge said enthusiastically, his eyes still focused on the coat despite a strange new sensation to look somewhere else.

Bruce said and grinned.

"We shall see."

Bruce raised and eyebrow and looked in your direction.
"Now this sounds interesting."
He said and he leaned back in his chair.

"You need to be familiar with primal ars," he began.

"A ring will not poke you in the neck, but yes someone could yank it out and that would sting."
Bruce commented.

"Less than getting my ringfinger caught on something and having it crushed or cut, or hurting myself or breaking it when I punch something."

"Man word etymology so neat. Like a small story wrapped up in a single word." Serge said with an interested look on his face. "The only thing I know about my name is that it might've come from France. And I think my mom might've been lying when she said that."

He seemed pleased with what he said, and nodded. "Serge is probably a name that has spread through quite a few languages, like Sergei in Russian - after all French is a Romance language, which is derived from Latin, and some Latin words were borrowed or adapted from Greek ones, so I doubt she was lying. Yes, your name is a story, like the title of a chapter of a book. The Silken Hunter. I would read a story named that, wouldn't you? Be careful who you let read your tale."

[Chicago, Morningstar library]

sabella nodded.
"I understand, and off course, have a nice evening Sir."

"Please make yourself comfortable."

She asked as she put on the water cooker.

He nodded. "It's been...complicated. I am fine, thank you," he said to the offer of tea. "Yes; I understand that you are making the arrangements and...well, I would like to discuss that and it felt only right to do that in person.

[Adley and Nicole go to Beefbarn]

'Hah, you know the tickets are all gone and can't afford a scalper.' Nicole replied dismissively. 'As for a cover story... how the hell do you explain the fact of vanishing without a word for over ten years? Not blind; they'll think I was greybarred or something.'

"Plenty of people just decide to leave a place, for job opportunities, to follow a lover or friend, because they felt like it or that they needed to get out of a place to make a new start, to go to school or a training, or the military. I assume you are concerned for your reputation with these people?"

"Fuck yeah I'd read that book. 'The Silken Hunter.' " Serge said slowly, wanting to savor every syllable as he spoke it.

"Makes me sound like a smuggler. The story of a pirate on the high seas hunting merchants ship and taking their stockpiles of luxury goods to add to his collection. The legend would spread across the open waters, warning ships big and small. If ye be hiding silk in amongst your cargo, ye best be prepared for the Hunter." Serge said like a narrator, before slowly transitioning into a more pirate like voice.

In a more serious tone, "You should keep the rest of your Name as close as you can, I know you probably think that is strange but it's got power for those that know how and would want to abuse it. One wouldn't want to see the story of the Hunter hijacked, after all." Then he said in a more lighthearted tone, "Traveling the Silk road, the pirate looks for his prey on the open seas, capturing those ships that pass through his domain. No one knows where he stores his best goods, his stockpile is said to rival dragons. Some say that he has befriended a dragon who hides it for him with his own, others say it's at the bottom of the ocean. But the truth is that his real treasure is found in a far stranger place; it is something even he couldn't steal." He smiled a bit.

[Chantry]

'That was the intention. Going to take a few bottles of oil with me for it.'

"That would be quite sufficient Miss Bouchard then I should be able to start a fire fairly easily."
Hildegard said and nodded.

Fran considered then she nodded, for a while she was quiet then she simply said.
"Good enough for me, I will do what have to be done."
Miss Rozzo got a dark look in her eyes from what you where saying but she did not comment.

"Not all of them turn to dust some just stink up the place, my theory is that death takes it's toll once the curse animating them goes, I have seen one of them die by beheading and turn to a skeleton."
Fran said and frowned.
"But generally unless they are dust they are not dead, other than beheading you have to pretty much completely destroy their bodies for them to die, they do not like fire though, they really do not like fire."

'Immortal does not mean indestructible. Remember that.' trying to exude an aura of quiet confidence.

The others nodded at that.

Work out the details once we're at the yard. The pair there are doing prep of their own.'

There was another round of nods at that.

Don't want to kill them either.' Nicole replied, looking to Fran. 'But if one raises a weapon at me or anyone on my side, they've just made themselves a target and are charged the price. And how will we know the slaves from the masters? Not like they wear handy labels or something.'

"Well if you have any way of seeing primal forces then looking at a vampire will make them stand out, they look like a mess of death and stasis."
Fran said.
"And I agree all combatants are fair game, but if one of the slaves should surrender or be alive at the end of the fight I would rather take that person captive and see if anything can be done."

'Seems fair enough.' Nicole replied, giving a shrug. 'Anyone got any cuffs and stakes, then?'

"Just so there are no confusion during combat though, since you are more experienced than me on a battlefield I would prefer if you led, I will take responsibility when the fighting is done."
Hildegard said.
"If that is perfectly acceptable to you Miss Bouchard?"

Fran nodded and pulled a thin stake out of her teddy bear bag.
"I have one, that should be enough. I would not trust using cuffs on vampires though many of them are strong enough to rip right through chains and also cuffs will not stop their magic."

'Source of intel would be handy, but honestly don't want to risk anyone's hide here just for that.'

"Agreed we take a prisoner only if opportunity present itself without further risk to us or the sleepers we are doing this to protect."
Hildegard declared and she nodded.

[Cabal Meeting]

"We shall see."

"We shall see and we shall bet on the outcome and cheer!"
Bruce declared as if it where a Roman style Gladiator match which was planned.

"Less than getting my ringfinger caught on something and having it crushed or cut, or hurting myself or breaking it when I punch something."

"That is true. Rings can be impractical."
The Artificer agreed.

"I would love it if they did. Then I'd be guaranteed to win the paintball match. Beginner's luck + Underdog's advantage? I'd have a flawless victory until the match was interrupted by the bad guy of the week." Serge said with a smile.

Bruce gave you a bit of a look then he chuckled.

"If my avatar can beat the shit out of me I should be able to dress him up and have him beat the shit out of everyone else." Serge said with a smile. "Won't lie, she'd probably enjoy it. She loves change and fighting in a core war would certainly be a drastic change in scenery that's for sure. ."

"Well okey then, I guess it is Core Wars for you then, I just hope you win for while serious injuries have to be rare, I mean they have to be or we would hear more about it, I bet it hurts."
The Artificer said and he raised an eyebrow.

[Going to the Library]

"You should try talking to Deaconess O'Connor. Even I have trouble understanding her sometimes." Serge said with a small chuckle.

"Who is Deaconess O'Connor? I do not think I have met her yet."
Kyle asked.
"There are so many here I have not met yet."

"Yeah. For all you know I could have master-level abilities." Serge said making jazz hands in a sort of mystical way. "Or I could be weaker than an initiate. Even I don't really know. I'm literally not allowed to use the limits of my abilities. Just small portions from time to time."

"I guess one never knows."
The younger mage agreed and he gave you a bit of a look.

"Right, you have an apartment now." Serge said with a smile. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I still need to see it after all. And I still have a bit more time so let's go."

"Yeah I got an apartment, it is pretty neat, though I will probably have to share it with my parents once Master Morgan is convinced they are not goig to try to kill me. I had breakfast with them and Master Morgan and Adley today, so the plan is to have them move in soon."
Kyle said as he went to the book on the stand to register his stack of books.
"But for now I have the place to myself."

[Chicago, Morningstar library]

"How are you faring?"

Isabella hesitated there where anger and sadness in her eyes but after a while she apparently decided it was best to say nothing so she simply nodded.
"I have been well, what about you Sir?"

He nodded. "It's been...complicated. I am fine, thank you," he said to the offer of tea. "Yes; I understand that you are making the arrangements and...well, I would like to discuss that and it felt only right to do that in person.

Deaconess Rose nodded as you declined tea.
"I hope you will not mind if I have a cup, we have a dehumidifier in the library, it always always my throat dry."
The Etherite said politely then she nodded and looked away sadly.
"Dylan's child...his daughter, yes you should be part of deciding what will be done with her remains...you would know better than anyone Dylan's wishes."
She said softly.
"He would have loved that child you know, despite how she came to be, the horror of it, he would have loved her."

[Chicago, Morningstar Library]

Isabella hesitated there where anger and sadness in her eyes but after a while she apparently decided it was best to say nothing so she simply nodded.
"I have been well, what about you Sir?"

His brows drew together a bit at her expression and then he said, "As well as one might be expected. I won't keep you, if you don't wish to talk, perhaps another time if you wish."

[Chicago, Rose's Office]

"I hope you will not mind if I have a cup, we have a dehumidifier in the library, it always always my throat dry."

"Of course not, ma'am."

"Dylan's child...his daughter, yes you should be part of deciding what will be done with her remains...you would know better than anyone Dylan's wishes." She said softly. "He would have loved that child you know, despite how she came to be, the horror of it, he would have loved her."

"Perhaps I should write this down, if you do not wish this conversation to be overheard. May I sit?" he asked, looking for a nearby seat as he dug into his bag to retrieve the wax tablet. He tried to school his thoughts and emotions and they went from one tragedy, to a kind of awe and hope back to sadness again. He took a deep breath and made himself remember what happened in the Labyrinth. "I assume you spoke with Lady Crexia as to...what happened," he said. Then he wrote on the with the stylus: 'It is likely true he would have loved her and he would have wanted her to be saved but he would not have been able to keep her as a daughter, even if it were possible for her to be well again.  Her Name was Adele before she was made into that thing and I do not know if I made the right choice regarding her fate. Truth be told all that occured in there I have held off on scrutinizing since, it is still painful and I think some of it I have been unconsciously blocking out of my thoughts. But I was given a very dangerous offer in the field. Perhaps both may have been saved or it could have been so much worse, the risk was very high for additionally we could not afford to lose our Commander to paradox either. I thought it would be better to free her from her suffering and links to the past and let her avatar try to start over in time. For there was a moment before this when the caul reached out to me and it showed me a gravestone with little doves on top of it. I thought perhaps it could mean it needed to be laid to rest, but I cannot know for sure what it wanted, for in part it was...too tormented and its emotions were confusing but it recognized me and sent me that image.  But though I have some of Dylan's memories and can feel things that he has felt and may know what his wishes and hopes were I am a different man also though we have similarities. He may have made a different choice if it were him. My week started with a child sacrifice and it the next one ended with one. I made a choice. I am sorry if this causes you sorrow. These are not choices that people should have to ever make.'

[Serge's Adventure]

Serge's Post:
"Scotty's Law? I guess that's one way to talk about the Law of Shade." Serge said with a grin. "I assume that's what you meant."

'No... Scotty from Star Trek.' giving Serge a look, clearly wondering if it was a joke or not.

Serge's Post:
"Who cares? It's a spy coat! Who wouldn't wanna wear that. Come on! Share with your friends! Give it here." Serge said enthusiastically, his eyes still focused on the coat despite a strange new sensation to look somewhere else.

'But... the sleeves will flop over your hands, for starters.' she replied, giving a confused look.

[RI Roadtrip]

Adley's Post:
"Plenty of people just decide to leave a place, for job opportunities, to follow a lover or friend, because they felt like it or that they needed to get out of a place to make a new start, to go to school or a training, or the military. I assume you are concerned for your reputation with these people?"

'I left without saying a word, never contacted 'em afterwards. Good chance they got a load of crap from cops and the like.' Nicole replied, confused to Adley's response. 'Dunno how families work in your world, but you simply don't do shit like that with mine.'

[Chantry]

Anja's Post:
Fran considered then she nodded, for a while she was quiet then she simply said.
"Good enough for me, I will do what have to be done."
Miss Rozzo got a dark look in her eyes from what you where saying but she did not comment.

Nicole glanced at Rozzo, wondering for a moment whether the look was for the information or for her, the bearer of.

Anja's Post:
"Not all of them turn to dust some just stink up the place, my theory is that death takes it's toll once the curse animating them goes, I have seen one of them die by beheading and turn to a skeleton."
Fran said and frowned.
"But generally unless they are dust they are not dead, other than beheading you have to pretty much completely destroy their bodies for them to die, they do not like fire though, they really do not like fire."

'Dust, skeleton, clearly rotted corpse... all clearly no longer in the game.' Nicole quipped. 'That reminds me. Heard rumours that some of them naturally look like rotted corpses.'

Anja's Post:
"Just so there are no confusion during combat though, since you are more experienced than me on a battlefield I would prefer if you led, I will take responsibility when the fighting is done."
Hildegard said.
"If that is perfectly acceptable to you Miss Bouchard?"

'Chances are, the battle won't last long enough to be directed.' Nicole replied. 'But is there some way to give my rounds to light up the target or something? To allow us to concentrate fire.'

Anja's Post:
Fran nodded and pulled a thin stake out of her teddy bear bag.
"I have one, that should be enough. I would not trust using cuffs on vampires though many of them are strong enough to rip right through chains and also cuffs will not stop their magic."

'Was thinking the cuffs for the slaves.'

[Adley and Nicole go to Beefbarn]

'I left without saying a word, never contacted 'em afterwards. Good chance they got a load of crap from cops and the like.' Nicole replied, confused to Adley's response. 'Dunno how families work in your world, but you simply don't do shit like that with mine.'

"You didn't say it was your family and I didn't want to make any suppositions. It still does happen, though; young people run away from home. I'd imagine they wouldn't be happy about it if they cared about you at all, of course not. Maybe they were worried about you, or perhaps thought something bad happened to you, you would know better than I. But if you're back around here, what are the odds you'll run into them on this trip, even if it /is/ Rhode Island?" he asked. He looked over at him, "Do you want to see them again?"

[Chicago, Morningstar Library]

His brows drew together a bit at her expression and then he said, "As well as one might be expected. I won't keep you, if you don't wish to talk, perhaps another time if you wish."

"Ah ehm...forgive me please, I did not mean to be rude...something almost happened that...well where frankly quite disturbing."
Isabella said apologetically.
"Off course at...another time then Sir, again I am sorry for my...mood."

[Chicago, Rose's Office]

"Of course not, ma'am."

"Ah thank you young man."
The Deaconess said as she made herself a cup of tea and went to her desk and sat down behind it.

"Perhaps I should write this down, if you do not wish this conversation to be overheard. May I sit?"

"Off course please do sit."
Madeline said and she indicated one of the high backed chairs in front of the desk.
"And writing down the communication might be wise indeed Mr Roth Hicks."

he asked, looking for a nearby seat as he dug into his bag to retrieve the wax tablet.

"No I suspect that Dylan would not have been able to keep her, not after what had happened to him, but he would have wanted her to be safe and happy if possible."
The Deaconess said after she had read what you had written then she sigh.
"There are worse things than death Mr Roth Hicks and we will never fully know if the child could have been saved but I suspect that after had had been made into that...that thing, the answer would be no, I do support your decision."

"In that case you did the only thing you could, Adele...that was the name you said the baby was called, herself wanted peace and perhaps in time her Avatar may return and be healthy and grow, you did the right thing painful as it may be."
The Deaconess said, pain in her stern, blue eyes.

"I wish you had not had to suffer such a choice Mr Roth Hicks, and yes I am grieving fo the girl, and I grieve for what was done to my apprentice, he was a good man you know, he was brilliant and kind, if he had lived he would have made a name for himself in our society...what the Nephandi did to him...what they did...."
The woman turned away so you would not see the tears in her eyes.

[Chantry]

Nicole glanced at Rozzo, wondering for a moment whether the look was for the information or for her, the bearer of.

It was hard to say, but the Verbena hedge wizard sure looked angry.

'Dust, skeleton, clearly rotted corpse... all clearly no longer in the game.' Nicole quipped. 'That reminds me. Heard rumours that some of them naturally look like rotted corpses.'

"That is true, well both facts are true actually, dust, skeleton or rotten flesh both means you now have a dead vampire and yes I hear there are some of them who look like ehm...zombies, my Mentor have spoken of them but I have never seen one of them."
Fran said and she nodded.

Chances are, the battle won't last long enough to be directed.' Nicole replied. 'But is there some way to give my rounds to light up the target or something? To allow us to concentrate fire.'

"Hopefully you are right Miss Bouchard but if we end up in the situation we need oe voice to direct the battle not two to avoid chaos."
The elderly Chorister said and she nodded to you.

'Was thinking the cuffs for the slaves.'

"Ah yes staking the slaves might make the whole saving them somewhat hard."
Fran said with a slightly wry grin.
"I will get some cuffs, Freddy have some in her room, and I should probably get some of that green serum as well, those slaves get some hedge fuckery from their Masters and we need to stop that if we are taking them in."

"Ah ehm...forgive me please, I did not mean to be rude...something almost happened that...well where frankly quite disturbing."
Isabella said apologetically.
"Off course at...another time then Sir, again I am sorry for my...mood."

"There is no need to apologize and I will not pry if you do not wish to discuss it, Miss Jardin. I understand that many things have been upsetting lately, you have not been rude at all."

[Chicago, Rose's Office]

"In that case you did the only thing you could, Adele...that was the name you said the baby was called, herself wanted peace and perhaps in time her Avatar may return and be healthy and grow, you did the right thing painful as it may be."
The Deaconess said, pain in her stern, blue eyes.

"I believe that is what it was, yes."

"From what I know of him, he was, yes. And...they were captured and will be sentenced. It is not a panacea for what happened by any means but then they will never do such a thing again." He frowned, then wiped off the board. "So, as to the arrangements, perhaps we could make something like that for her, if you find that acceptable, ma'am. Let me know if there is to be a service or gathering, even if it is just us...and if I can help in any way..."

Post by Warpmind on Wed Oct 17, 2018 12:40 pm

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]
Anja wrote:"Did I poke a hole in your Master plan Colin?"
Bruce asked and he grinned.
S7trif3 wrote:"Oh, I don't know. His humor is more dry and punny than sarcastic, like most other New Englanders are sarcastic."
Anja wrote:"True but he is also quite good at sarcasm, something I suspect among others Miss Rozzo will get to experience during their debate."
Bruce said and grinned.
S7trif3 wrote:"We shall see."
Anja wrote:"We shall see and we shall bet on the outcome and cheer!"
Bruce declared as if it where a Roman style Gladiator match which was planned.
He grinned wryly, "Sarcastic, me? I can't imagine where you got that outlandish notion from."

Anja wrote:"No we would not want that to happen, then again I do not think we will be that petty."
The other Orphan said.
He nodded, "True, I don't expect it will be a problem, but then again, if we were to leave teams fixed from match to match, and one team consistently won, it would be likely to cause some strain..."

Jeremy wrote:"I've always wanted to be a pirate...."
He smiled wryly, "Well, more volition and less buggery than the Royal Navy, I suppose..."

Jeremy wrote:"Terrible at the first and no clue how to do the second." Serge said.
He nodded, "Not going to help you much, then... For now."

S7trif3 wrote:He raised an eyebrow. "Not yet, but I think that I can. Being in my condition though, I shouldn't try until I am well. You've seen me work with fire and light though."
He nodded, "Obviously, I would not expect you to demolish skyscrapers for a little while."

Jeremy wrote:"Huh, I thought it was greek. I guess I was thinking on similar lines to Perseus." Serge said evenly.
S7trif3 wrote:"Kynigós would be hound leader, as in Orion the Hunter and more likely to carry the correct connotation.
Jeremy wrote:"Man word etymology so neat. Like a small story wrapped up in a single word." Serge said with an interested look on his face. "The only thing I know about my name is that it might've come from France. And I think my mom might've been lying when she said that."
S7trif3 wrote:He seemed pleased with what he said, and nodded.
Jeremy wrote:"Fuck yeah I'd read that book.

S7trif3 wrote:In a more serious tone, "You should keep the rest of your Name as close as you can, I know you probably think that is strange but it's got power for those that know how and would want to abuse it.
He grinned, "The Silken Hunter? I don't know, sounds more like a magistrate rooting out corruption at the Imperial Court of Khublai Khan... And I don't think people ever sailed much on the Silk road; that route was over land through most of Asia, after all..."

Jeremy wrote:"If moths flew out of my wallet I'd have a whole new set of concerns besides it being empty." Serge said with a smile.
He arched an eyebrow, "Well, I suppose you could put a few mocking messages in the wallet in lieu of cash - to taunt any pickpockets who might run off with it..."

Jeremy wrote:"But the risk is what makes it fun. The constant suspense of whether I die or not. Will I chicken out in the last moment? Is it really worth it? Am I insane or have I performed some secret magick to turn the odds in my favor? Who knows! Tune in next time."
He shook his head in mild exasperation and sighed, "Thrillseekers..."

S7trif3 wrote:"We should teach everyone that can how to do that, it's effective against Qlippothic ars..."
Anja wrote:Bruce raised and eyebrow and looked in your direction.
"Now this sounds interesting."
He said and he leaned back in his chair.
S7trif3 wrote:"You need to be familiar with primal ars," he began.
He nodded, "And probability manipulation. As a simplified explanation, the trick counters Qlippothic magic by reintroducing possibility to the affected bit of reality - essentially bringing back the chance that that volume of space is not an impenetrable barrier, or that that fireball just might not exist after all..."

S7trif3 wrote:He gave him a smile. "Well, thank you for giving my brother some cookies then."
He smiled sadly, "Well, he certainly earned them at the hospital... He's a brave kid, and none of us foresaw the mishap... I should have, but I dropped the ball..."

Anja wrote:"Yeah for me it seams like a epically bad idea but I guess that if the Adepts regularly Gilgulled thelseves there would be less of them."
Bruce said and frowned.
"I wonder if Jon have ever done a duel like that."
Jeremy wrote:"You guys are no fun." Serge said jokingly. "I'd do it in a heartbeat. If only I was a little better at computers."
Anja wrote:"You would stuff your Avatar into a computer program and set it to fight for you in a duel?"
Bruce said and he raised an eyebrow.
"Well I have to admit kid that takes some balls."
Jeremy wrote:"If my avatar can beat the shit out of me I should be able to dress him up and have him beat the shit out of everyone else." Serge said with a smile. "Won't lie, she'd probably enjoy it. She loves change and fighting in a core war would certainly be a drastic change in scenery that's for sure. ."
Anja wrote:"Well okey then, I guess it is Core Wars for you then, I just hope you win for while serious injuries have to be rare, I mean they have to be or we would hear more about it, I bet it hurts."
The Artificer said and he raised an eyebrow.
He shook his head, "I wish you the best of luck in that endeavour, Serge, but my reluctance to tag along has nothing to do with my being no fun. My Avatar is quite special, and I would as soon not risk bringing the equivalent of a sentient blender into a round of fisticuffs. I'm not too keen on finding out how safe it would be for the other guy."

Anja wrote:"Piercings can be stolen as well it just hurts more."
Bruce commented dryly.
S7trif3 wrote:He winced.
Anja wrote:"A ring will not poke you in the neck, but yes someone could yank it out and that would sting."
Bruce commented.
S7trif3 wrote:"Less than getting my ringfinger caught on something and having it crushed or cut, or hurting myself or breaking it when I punch something."
Anja wrote:"That is true. Rings can be impractical."
The Artificer agreed.
He shook his head, "Having an earring yanked out could potentially deprive you of the entire earlobe, depending on the exact placement... I would rather not speculate on which would be more painful..."

S7trif3 wrote:Adley looked at Bruce, sighed then dug into a pocket and pulled out some parking meter quarters and shoved them over to Colin.
He looked at the coins with a blank expression for a moment, then started laughing, "I haven't set up the jar yet; I said tomorrow. Well played, though."

[Abandoned Junkyard]
Anja wrote:"That must have been horrible, did you have to stay in a hospital long? Staying in a hospital is really boring."
The young woman said and she sigh.
"I am glad not all mages have to go though things like that."
He nodded, "The worst part of the stay was how my face was all wrapped up, so I had to get food from a bottle for a few weeks... Fortunately, I had plenty to read, and a wonderful amount of drugs to keep the pain at bay. But yes, I do believe that for most, it's a more gradual thing."

Anja wrote:"Well shit, that must have been some vision."
Karin said her eyes wide.
"What are Great Polyps? What are any of the things you spoke about?"
He grimaced, "Great Polyps are a sort of creature found deep into the other dimensions; quite literally the manifestations of the concept of rotting flesh. They look mostly like gargantuan tumors with countless sensory organs and orifices, with tunnels shaped throughout the vast mass to make it work like a battleship, crewed by what we call Fallen, Magi who have sold their soul to Oblivion... You really don't want to see one."

Anja wrote:Bruce looked up and removed his goggles and held out three pairs of rough frames for glasses made out steel wire.
"Will these do?"
She asked.
"Hum...Bobby the spirit is it? Well I am glad he approve of me, is he going to be a problem when we deal with the vampires, that might be a bigger question."
He smiled, "He does not approve of those creatures with beastly aspects preying on his Dominion. He'll help shelter the Sleepers while the fight lasts."

Serge nodded, "I've heard about that. True names and the power they hold. Let it out and mages basically have a free connection to you." then with a smile said, "Ahhh, but what a tale it be. The Silken Hunter, whose true name be just as hidden as his treasure. Forgotten by all, maybe even to the hunter himself."

Colin wrote:He grinned, "The Silken Hunter? I don't know, sounds more like a magistrate rooting out corruption at the Imperial Court of Khublai Khan... And I don't think people ever sailed much on the Silk road; that route was over land through most of Asia, after all..."

Anja wrote:"Well okey then, I guess it is Core Wars for you then, I just hope you win for while serious injuries have to be rare, I mean they have to be or we would hear more about it, I bet it hurts."
The Artificer said and he raised an eyebrow.

"I get hurt on a daily basis. A little core war won't phase me." Serge said with an odd amount of confidence. "Doubt it'll ever happen though. Don't have the computer know-how yet."

Colin wrote:He shook his head, "I wish you the best of luck in that endeavour, Serge, but my reluctance to tag along has nothing to do with my being no fun. "Makes sense. Although it would have been fun to see the other guy complaining and calling 'Hacks' and calling your Avatar OP. You know, if he survived and all that."

[Going to the Library]

Anja wrote:"Who is Deaconess O'Connor? I do not think I have met her yet."
Kyle asked.
"There are so many here I have not met yet."

"One of the Deacon's at Steelhaven. She's half-fae and not really 'of this world'. So she tends to have a strange way of speaking to other people." Serge explained. "She gave me some unicorn crayons so that's neat."

Anja wrote:"Yeah I got an apartment, it is pretty neat, though I will probably have to share it with my parents once Master Morgan is convinced they are not goig to try to kill me. I had breakfast with them and Master Morgan and Adley today, so the plan is to have them move in soon."
Kyle said as he went to the book on the stand to register his stack of books.
"But for now I have the place to myself."

"Sweet." Serge said as he collected his books and got up and followed Kyle to the register. However, before he got to the register he looked at the bookshelves one more time and said, "Wait. There's one more book I want to try and find."

He began to search through the books, looking for any which had depiction of fae or the fair folk. Talking about the Deaconess had reminded him that he still needed to make her a gift as thanks for saving his mentor's life. Serge figured having some reference materiel on the home the Deaconess missed so much would be helpful in creating that gift.

[Serge's Adventure]

Nicole wrote:'No... Scotty from Star Trek.' giving Serge a look, clearly wondering if it was a joke or not.

"I thought it was called Scotty's principle? Not Scotty's Law." Serge said giving a nonchalant shrug. In truth he had actually forgotten and was now just trying to save face.

Nicole wrote:'But... the sleeves will flop over your hands, for starters.' she replied, giving a confused look.

"That doesn't matter to me? Will that prevent the cool stealth magick from working? If not then I don't see the harm from at least trying it out. Plus I could hide my pretend spy gun in those floppy sleeves." Serge said wondering why Nicole was so confused.

[Chicago, Morningstar Library]

"There is no need to apologize and I will not pry if you do not wish to discuss it, Miss Jardin. I understand that many things have been upsetting lately, you have not been rude at all."

"I fear that discussing it might cause conflict and also make others fear me, even if was never the one that did anything and some things are best forgotten rather than dwelled on."
Isabella said sadly.
"And I can not afford to wallow in self pity when Master Amadeus the man's who's custos I am need my care."
The vampiress said and she gave the sleeping old man a fond look.
"And this library needs tending."

[Chicago, Rose's Office]

"I believe that is what it was, yes."

Deaconess Rose nodded solemnly at that.

"From what I know of him, he was, yes. And...they were captured and will be sentenced. It is not a panacea for what happened by any means but then they will never do such a thing again."

"No they will hurt no one again, i will go to Horizon and see justice be done, not for vengeance to for Dylan's sake, so I can go to his grave and tell him that it is over, no one will suffer as he did at the hand of that woman again."
Madeline said softly.

He frowned, then wiped off the board. "So, as to the arrangements, perhaps we could make something like that for her, if you find that acceptable, ma'am. Let me know if there is to be a service or gathering, even if it is just us...and if I can help in any way..."

"There is a small area of the garden set aside for the graves of Chantry members who have no other family connections or preferences for their final resting place, with your permission I would have the girl laid to rest there, with a grave marker as you describe, I have acquired a baby's gown for her and a small toy as a gift, she deserve that, Dylan would have wanted her to have it."
The Deaconess said.
"What sort of ceremony would you prefer Mr Roth Hicks?"

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]

He grinned wryly, "Sarcastic, me? I can't imagine where you got that outlandish notion from."

"I already hear coins tinkling in the jar."
Bruce said wryly.

He nodded, "True, I don't expect it will be a problem, but then again, if we were to leave teams fixed from match to match, and one team consistently won, it would be likely to cause some strain..."

"At the very least it would make things far less fun."
Bruce said and nodded.
"I agree though we should change up the teams now and again."

He nodded, "And probability manipulation. As a simplified explanation, the trick counters Qlippothic magic by reintroducing possibility to the affected bit of reality - essentially bringing back the chance that that volume of space is not an impenetrable barrier, or that that fireball just might not exist after all..."

"Hum...that is pretty brilliant actually."
Bruce said and he nodded.

He smiled sadly, "Well, he certainly earned them at the hospital... He's a brave kid, and none of us foresaw the mishap... I should have, but I dropped the ball..."

"The Chief's new apprentice got hurt? I can not imagine Master Morgan being happy about that."
The Artificer asked and he raised an eyebrow.

Bruce raised an eyebrow at that and frowned.
"Well no that is best avoided I think."

He shook his head, "Having an earring yanked out could potentially deprive you of the entire earlobe, depending on the exact placement... I would rather not speculate on which would be more painful..."

"Between loosing the earlobe or loosing a finger? The answer it pretty clear, breaking a finger would break bone, reduce functionality of one's hand and generally suck, while the earlobe is just skin, I would much rather rip skin than break bones."
Bruce grumbled.

"I get hurt on a daily basis. A little core war won't phase me." Serge said with an odd amount of confidence. "Doubt it'll ever happen though. Don't have the computer know-how yet."

"I seriously doubt you get hurt to such a degree on a daily basis Mr Yager and if you are then you are doing something seriously wrong, let us try to keep fantasy and reality from bleeding together again shall well, when you say things like that to sound cool you make others worried about you needlessly and that is not right now is it?"
Bruce said sternly as he gave Serge a bit of a look.

"Makes sense. Although it would have been fun to see the other guy complaining and calling 'Hacks' and calling your Avatar OP. You know, if he survived and all that."

"Well it would be more likely the unfortunate opponent would be more busy laying in a pool of his own urine screaming until his throat bled to make any such complaints Serge though I do admit that the idea is somewhat amusing."
The large Orphan commented.

[Abandoned Junkyard]

He nodded, "The worst part of the stay was how my face was all wrapped up, so I had to get food from a bottle for a few weeks... Fortunately, I had plenty to read, and a wonderful amount of drugs to keep the pain at bay. But yes, I do believe that for most, it's a more gradual thing."

"That sounds really boring and sucky."
The girl said with compassion in her voice.
"I am glad you got better though and that most mages do not have to go through that sort of thing or there would be many traumatized witches, I mean damn I thought it was boring to spend a week in the hospital as a git when my appendix burst and had to be taken out ad I got infections and such."

"Oooookey then, so such a thing exist...damn, well now I guess you are right I do not want to see a giant tumor full of evil mages, that sound like it would really suck."
Karin declared.
"Do they travel in the Umbra? You said they where ships."

He smiled, "He does not approve of those creatures with beastly aspects preying on his Dominion. He'll help shelter the Sleepers while the fight lasts."

"Good, that is good, well then should I make a few more frames before Nicole comes back?"
Bruce asked.

[Going to the Library]

"One of the Deacon's at Steelhaven. She's half-fae and not really 'of this world'. So she tends to have a strange way of speaking to other people." Serge explained. "She gave me some unicorn crayons so that's neat."

"That sounds really cool actually, I look forward to meeting her then."
Kyle said and he grinned.
"A real fay damn, well half fay but still that is neat."

"Sweet." Serge said as he collected his books and got up and followed Kyle to the register. However, before he got to the register he looked at the bookshelves one more time and said, "Wait. There's one more book I want to try and find."

"Okey I can register your books for you while you look for it if you want."
Kyle offered and he held out his arms for your books as well.

He began to search through the books, looking for any which had depiction of fae or the fair folk. You found a book named True Fae,Changeling and the Blooded by Rosante Green bani Verbena.

Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th

[quote]He nodded, "Obviously, I would not expect you to demolish skyscrapers for a little while."

"Not on my general to-do list."

"
Serge nodded, "I've heard about that. True names and the power they hold. Let it out and mages basically have a free connection to you." Then with a smile said, Ahhh, but what a tale it be. The Silken Hunter, whose true name be just as hidden as his treasure. Forgotten by all, maybe even to the hunter himself."

He smiled.

He grinned, "The Silken Hunter? I don't know, sounds more like a magistrate rooting out corruption at the Imperial Court of Khublai Khan... And I don't think people ever sailed much on the Silk road; that route was over land through most of Asia, after all..."

"There are some ones by ship, I thought. Perhaps I'm wrong.

"Who cares about Historical accuracy? This is fiction! Let there be sea dragons!"

"I do like accuracy n my historical fictions, of course even the best ones probably fall short should I examine them and ask around for the truth." He added, "There probably were sea dragons then and sea monsters of all kinds. If you haven't read Scarlet Pimpernel, you might like that one, it's not about a pirate. It's French but good translations exist."

"As it's a countermagick of a kind, I wouldn't try it on a fireball or spells that are cast that fast without some time ars on your side. If you fail to re-weave reality around the spell in due time, you're going to get a Qlippothic fireball coming your way. But yes, Qlippothic magick is anathema to reality itself, the main concept is to help reality heal the wound that those kinds of spells make using negation, which as we know Reality does not like very much for obvious reasons. Prime being the fabric of the Tellurian is used as threads, as it were, are used to draw the Reality back to what it should be, together with Quintessence it forms a raw scaffolding and that first spark of existence, entropy introduces multiple possibilities and whatever the base of the inverted spell is, the counterspeller will need to know that as well, just as you do with normal counterspelling. It can be a slow process if the spell is strong, but it can work."

"You didn't know. I wish you had, so does he, but you didn't. I'm still a bit upset about it, he's a teenager and he'd already been under so much stress. I just hope he will be ok."

He winced a bit. "That would not be fun. Every time I consider some kind of adornment I run through this conversation in my head." He sighed.

He looked at the coins with a blank expression for a moment, then started laughing, "I haven't set up the jar yet; I said tomorrow. Well played, though."

"Consider it an advance."

[Chicago, Morningstar Library]

"I fear that discussing it might cause conflict and also make others fear me, even if was never the one that did anything and some things are best forgotten rather than dwelled on." Isabella said sadly. "And I can not afford to wallow in self pity when Master Amadeus the man's who's custos I am need my care." The vampiress said and she gave the sleeping old man a fond look. The Deaconess said. "What sort of ceremony would you prefer Mr Roth Hicks?"

"That seems best, yes," he agreed. "As for the type, I am not sure really...if you or he had a preference, then I will take that as the lead as to what you feel would be best, ma'am."

"It is a little the same that static magick if used right can be effective in freezing the changes created by Dynamic magick then?"
Bruce asked then he nodded.
"Yes I can see that a fireball might not be the right place to use this but fo something like a ward it might just work very well, quite interesting."
He said and smiled.

"You didn't know. I wish you had, so does he, but you didn't. I'm still a bit upset about it, he's a teenager and he'd already been under so much stress. I just hope he will be ok."

Bruce asked and he raised an eyebrow.

He winced a bit. "That would not be fun. Every time I consider some kind of adornment I run through this conversation in my head." He sighed.

"Yeah that is one of the reasons I do not have piercings."
Bruce said.
"You might consider a tattoo instead, that is less in the way and harder to remove."

[Chicago, Morningstar Library]

"As you wish, miss Jardin."

Isabella nodded.
"Thank you for you understanding Sir."
The vampiress said politely.

"I can ask Sister Ragnhild a Chorister or one of the Verbena to to a ceremony for us perhaps, or Mr Mosfatt who is a practicing Hindi if I am not mistaken."

"Your right. Guess people aren't really use to me yet. I'll tone the exaggerations down." Serge offered with a nod.

Anja wrote:"Well it would be more likely the unfortunate opponent would be more busy laying in a pool of his own urine screaming until his throat bled to make any such complaints Serge though I do admit that the idea is somewhat amusing."

"Hah, you admitted it. That's all I need." Serge said with a smile, not seeming to disturbed by the mention of Colin's potential piss-soaked victims.

"A real fay damn, well half fay but still that is neat."

"It is really cool. You know, out of all the classic creatures that exist out there, the fae are the ones I know the least about. Granted I'm not an expert on vampires or werewolves either but the fae have a unique sort of mystery to them." Serge said with a smile. "Won't lie, it's probably cause there not as much popular media on them. Mostly old folk and fairy tales and old legends. Although there is a fair bit in Dnd. Do you know anything about the fair folk?"

Anja wrote:"Okey I can register your books for you while you look for it if you want."

"Your right. Guess people aren't really use to me yet. I'll tone the exaggerations down." Serge offered with a nod.

Bruce simply nodded at that.
"Good."

"Hah, you admitted it. That's all I need." Serge said with a smile, not seeming to disturbed by the mention of Colin's potential piss-soaked victims.

"Shit...well yes I admitted it, you got me there."
Bruce said with a displeased grunt.

"Allot of fantasy books have elves and such so there is that and there are some TV series with fay and allot of things intended for girls have mermaids and fairies and such so there is actually allot out there in fiction, I know nothing about real life fay though. I have not met allot of non mage critters, I know a girl who is a Risen, that is a sort of ghost and my dad really hate vampires with a passion, I mean really hate them, other than that I know little about supernatural creatures."
Kyle said and he shook his head though he smiled a little as he mentioned the ghost girl and he blushed.

"That'd be great. Thanks." Serge said handing his three books over to Kyle.

Kyle took the books and he started to register them in the log book.

"Neat. A Verbana." Serge said as he plucked the book of the shelf and rushed back to Kyle to register the new book he had gotten.

"Did you find what you where looking for Serge?"
Kyle asked as he registered the last of the book with title, your name and the date they where borrowed.
"Anything else then?"

Bruce asked then he nodded.
"Yes I can see that a fireball might not be the right place to use this but fo something like a ward it might just work very well, quite interesting."
He said and smiled.

"Something like that. Usually, the nudge will pull things together about where the consensus wants it, rather than a wholly new Dynamic thing in lieu of the Qlippothic void, but yes it's a bit like leaning on the weight of the Tellurian existing, rather than NOT."

"I did not know but I saw the kid in the hallways earlier and he seamed fine, can I ask what happened to him?"
Bruce asked and he raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know if now is the correct time for that conversation."

"Yeah that is one of the reasons I do not have piercings."
Bruce said.
"You might consider a tattoo instead, that is less in the way and harder to remove."

His eyes looked unfocused a moment then he shook his head. "Harder, but not impossible," he said, looking disturbed.

"Scarlet Pimpernel? I'll look for it. In fact I'll try reading the french. Need practice with a translation spell." Serge said with a nod.

"I think you will like it, there is actually a series though I have not read them all, just the first one so named. They were written by Baroness Orczy and set during the Reign of Terror, however these stories are not absolutely strict in historical accuracies, though there are historical figures in the books. Well, we seem to have digressed again, pardon. It seems we have named you but not the cabal."

He grinned, "Thank you, I'm quite pleased with the outcome, myself. And thank you for the quite accurate summary, Adley. Plus, it looks a great deal less disgusting than tearing through a powerful ward with some twenty drams of corrupted Quintessence, too... though the latter technique was a lot quicker, I shall admit."

He shook his head, "Long story short, he volunteered to help test a new method to find Primium residue from the serum. As a sbsequent side effect, the local anaesthetic ceased to function, causing him substantial pain during the lumbar puncture. So no, the Chief was not pleased. He understood, though, that giving Kyle a sense of agency during the hospital visit may likely have helped him more than he was hurt, but he was not pleased with it... The punishment for Dr. Lee and myself were no more harsh than they had to be, and far more generous than they could have been. That's all the details I'm quite at liberty to share."

Something set in the court of the Khan would easily have impressive fighting scenes, and possibly some weird sorcery as well."

Jeremy wrote:"Scarlet Pimpernel? I'll look for it. In fact I'll try reading the french. Need practice with a translation spell." Serge said with a nod.
S7trif3 wrote:"I think you will like it, there is actually a series though I have not read them all, just the first one so named. They were written by Baroness Orczy and set during the Reign of Terror, however these stories are not absolutely strict in historical accuracies, though there are historical figures in the books. Well, we seem to have digressed again, pardon. It seems we have named you but not the cabal."
He gave Adley a dirty look, "Baroness Orczy was British. Well, Hungarian-British, to be precise. And Sir Percy Blakeney was British Baronet, himself. Hell, without The Scarlet Pimpernel, we might never have seen heroes like Zorro or Batman, but he was most decidedly NOT French."

Jeremy wrote:"I get hurt on a daily basis. A little core war won't phase me." Serge said with an odd amount of confidence. "Doubt it'll ever happen though. Don't have the computer know-how yet."
Anja wrote:"I seriously doubt you get hurt to such a degree on a daily basis Mr Yager and if you are then you are doing something seriously wrong, let us try to keep fantasy and reality from bleeding together again shall well, when you say things like that to sound cool you make others worried about you needlessly and that is not right now is it?"
Bruce said sternly as he gave Serge a bit of a look.
Jeremy wrote:"Your right. Guess people aren't really use to me yet. I'll tone the exaggerations down." Serge offered with a nod.
Anja wrote:Bruce simply nodded at that.
"Good."
He frowned, "Good... Talk like that, when you don't have the scars to back it up, makes you come off like a rather, hm, bleak Goth who just lacks conviction."

Anja wrote:Bruce raised an eyebrow at that and frowned.
"Well no that is best avoided I think."
Jeremy wrote:"Makes sense. Although it would have been fun to see the other guy complaining and calling 'Hacks' and calling your Avatar OP. You know, if he survived and all that."
Anja wrote:"Well it would be more likely the unfortunate opponent would be more busy laying in a pool of his own urine screaming until his throat bled to make any such complaints Serge though I do admit that the idea is somewhat amusing."
The large Orphan commented.
Jeremy wrote:"Hah, you admitted it. That's all I need." Serge said with a smile, not seeming to disturbed by the mention of Colin's potential piss-soaked victims.
Anja wrote:"Shit...well yes I admitted it, you got me there."
Bruce said with a displeased grunt.
He frowned, "I would not want to see that... I held Beatrice when... well, I'm afraid my participation in a Core War would have similar consequences for my opponent, without my being able to do anything about it..."

Anja wrote:"Between loosing the earlobe or loosing a finger? The answer it pretty clear, breaking a finger would break bone, reduce functionality of one's hand and generally suck, while the earlobe is just skin, I would much rather rip skin than break bones."
Bruce grumbled.
S7trif3 wrote:He winced a bit. "That would not be fun. Every time I consider some kind of adornment I run through this conversation in my head." He sighed.
Anja wrote:"Yeah that is one of the reasons I do not have piercings."
Bruce said.
"You might consider a tattoo instead, that is less in the way and harder to remove."
S7trif3 wrote:His eyes looked unfocused a moment then he shook his head. "Harder, but not impossible," he said, looking disturbed.
He grimaced, "You forget, Bruce, the earlobe is a lot more sensitive than most of the finger, excepting the fingertip. And I did not say losing the earlobe would be worse in the long term, just that it might be more painful..."

S7trif3 wrote:"Consider it an advance."
He grinned and went over to a cabinet, pulling out a small, empty Mason jar, dropping the change into it along with a couple of quarters from his own pocket, "Very well, then. Cabal funds are off to a tolerable start."

[Abandoned Junkyard]
Anja wrote:"That sounds really boring and sucky."
He nodded, "There was a rather bright spot in the whole affair, though - my copilot and two passengers walked away without a scratch. And I got a few medals for the trouble... and a decent pension. But yes, extended hospital stays do tend to get boring."

Anja wrote:"Oooookey then, so such a thing exist...damn, well now I guess you are right I do not want to see a giant tumor full of evil mages, that sound like it would really suck."
Karin declared.
"Do they travel in the Umbra? You said they where ships."
He nodded, "Gargantuan living ships, mostly staying so deep in the Umbra that people can't simply wander into them."

Anja wrote:"Good, that is good, well then should I make a few more frames before Nicole comes back?"
Bruce asked.
He nodded, "Unless Master Sharaya sends some proper frames shortly, or unless you have some better improvements you can think of, like setting up some better cover for our sharpshooters to take aim from, a few more sets would be good."

((OOC: So, I've been wondering, which is more disturbing, a Chorister resorting to profanities, or a Hermetic resorting to vulgarities? Wink ))

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]

He grinned, "Thank you, I'm quite pleased with the outcome, myself. And thank you for the quite accurate summary, Adley. Plus, it looks a great deal less disgusting than tearing through a powerful ward with some twenty drams of corrupted Quintessence, too... though the latter technique was a lot quicker, I shall admit."

"Perhaps but the other way actually fixes the disturbances to the fabric of the Tellurian. I'm sure that other technique will be handy too though."

He grinned, "Oh, I was thinking more of a... what's the word... Wuxia-style presentation; something like a theatrical kung-fu performance, like the Monkey King stories that inspired that show... what was it called again... Dragon Ball? Something set in the court of the Khan would easily have impressive fighting scenes, and possibly some weird sorcery as well."

"I have never watched those types of shows."

"Pardon, the copy I saw first was in French. I should not have assumed based on the setting, I suppose that accounts for the good 'translations' though. Do forgive me."

He frowned, "I would not want to see that... I held Beatrice when... well, I'm afraid my participation in a Core War would have similar consequences for my opponent, without my being able to do anything about it..."

"Please let's not talk about that..."

He grimaced, "You forget, Bruce, the earlobe is a lot more sensitive than most of the finger, excepting the fingertip. And I did not say losing the earlobe would be worse in the long term, just that it might be more painful..."

"Unsurprisingly, I prefer to stay intact all around thank you."

He grinned and went over to a cabinet, pulling out a small, empty Mason jar, dropping the change into it along with a couple of quarters from his own pocket, "Very well, then. Cabal funds are off to a tolerable start."

"Wonderful; at that rate we'll have enough funds to go to Horizon in about sixty years. And there goes my advance. Dammit."

// hrm, maybe the former, since they might be inclined to actually believe in the original meaning of profane?
