New Character dicussion thread.
I was thinking new and old players might enjoy discussing their characters a bit here so we can find characters that work well together.
Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Hey super interested in a virtual adept, hacker who sees the world as code he manipulate with “magik” using technology. He will be all about power to the poor and a political activist as long as that does not sort on anyone’s toes, I imagine him with prime, mind and corespondence.

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
He might go well with both Nicole our Virtual Adept Serge our Cultist would probably find him cool. There are also among the NPCs one Virtual Adept among the Deacon Council of Steelhaven and two other NPC Virtual Adepts.
Nicole would appriciate him she is a political activist herself and getting into a bit of a problem with the more conservative magi rather often.

Sounds like him and Nichole will get along well I thought she was A son on ether. Maybe we know each other.

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
That might be why he is coming to Boston though Nicole is currently a bit red up with Tradition laws especially the first Protocol that says one must respect those of grater knowledge so she is considering leaving someone to stand with her might help though I can not speak for her player on that.
Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Hey everyone! The idea I was playing with is an Irish Akashic who comes from a really large, really crappy, really complicated family, and who's a bit of a celebrity and rabble rouser on the local celtic-punk music scene. Depending on whether it would be fun or just more complicated, I'd also like to giver her ties to both the Fae and the Fianna (Fae Blood and Kinfolk, possibly so she's sort of an ambassador who can move between different communities with some ease.
Her main Spheres would be Forces and Mind.
There's a version of her from Boston, and there's a version from Ireland recently arrived in Boston. Either could work.

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Interesting character concept. Well the plan was to bring in more fae into the story since one of the characters Serge is super creative and tend to draw their attention. We have a few werewolf NPCs so if your character buy up both merits I can agree to that. What would be their Paradigm?
Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Dude if you are part of the punk rock music scene and rabble rouser maybe I use my tech skills to promote you and such

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
That works very for getting the two characters to work well together.
Re: New Character dicussion thread.
it would be a lot of fun to have ties to both (fae and Garou) and have both come into play in-game.
Her paradigm is chi-life-dharma-tao-fate-blood-firewaterearthairbending-qi-karma-chakras-theForce. That whole invisible and ineffable river of 'the way that can be named is not the eternal way' that flows along under and over through and around everything that IS, the 'energy' that makes everything the way it is and not something else.
She taps into that, communes with it, and touching it, drawing from it, allows her to do things like read thoughts or project emotions (because we're all connected), jump higher or move faster (because she can bend the energy inside of herself, and possible other things as she learns more.
The practice would be a hodegpodge of various martial arts and meditative and spiritual practices. The balance of discipline and passion that drives everything from art to love.
She's in for that.

Oh yeah, that would work perfectly. I already anticipate her being a bit of an outlier among the Akashics, not being as disciplined and as serious as they'd like. So if she's hanging with techmages? It would Drive. Them. Nuts.Chronomancer wrote:Dude if you are part of the punk rock music scene and rabble rouser maybe I use my tech skills to promote you and such

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Sounds great for Paradigm.
Yes basically Colin an Orphan have adopted a girl with heart problem...well he actually shot her because she was a Nephandus but when the Labyrinth was taken down he adopted her since she is a kid. Colin have befriended a werewolf, a Glass Walker who is a pedriatric heart specialist and so he have gotten into contact with his pack. There is also a former PC now NPC who is a Dreamspeaker who works heavily with Fera.
Steelhaven have both Technomages and Mystics so they tend to work well together. One of the Hermetics are the boyfriend of the Virtual Adept Deacon.

Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Hey guys! Love your character concepts so far.
VA's are always cool and your character sounds like it'll be a perfect fit in with all the political talk happening in the game.
And an Akashic character with ties to the fae and werewolves also sounds like a lot of fun. Serge would definitely appreciate another Fae touched buddy .
If you guys need some more help with that music promotion, Serge has been wanting to improve his digital art skills. Perhaps with some posters?

Faerie-Buddy-Fist-Bump!
And for sure, she'll need posters and stickers! You want to be an awesome local underground punk act, you gotta have a sweet guerilla marketing campaign!

Serge I want to know more about your pc. Is your character a user and dealer of exotic substances Ivan see my pc being all about that as a way to quick hack the code. Not to be used all the time but in emergency. Can see that as a place our para meet.

Serge doesn't deal them, though he's not opposed to taking them.
If your PC uses drugs as an instrument, then Serge might've heard about you through his mentor (a high-ranking Cultist Master in Boston).
If you plan on having any sort of ties to New York that could also be something. That's where Serge grew up and where his Dad is a Senior Software Engineer. Serge has mentioned that if he hadn't met his Cultist Mentor, becoming a Virtual Adept was the next likeliest scenario for him after he awoke (assuming he wasn't snatched by the Technocracy).

Hey, I was mostly considering the idea of a Rogue Technocrat. The main concept is an Iterator who's found himself effectively exiled from the Union and still hasn't quite shaken off the rose-colored mirrorshades, despite his former comrades trying to kill him.
Very much still a user of hypertech and enlightened science rather than openly admitting what he does is magic.

Am I good to start a new thread for an official Morrigan write-up? Or should I wait for some kind of formal approval?

Nicole our Etherite do the same thing so that is not a problem, open support of the Union would be a problem but not that he see his magic as hypertech.

She is, but a fairly modern one. And it's possible that she's 'known' by a few Cyberpunks.

More the fact she thinks they'll end up having a big crash and doesn't want to go down with the ship.

Why do I get the vague feeling Nick's being partly replaced? Though could be worse; could be a Bone Gnawer. Or Bastet kinfolk... *wry smile*

While my voting stock is 0.0001% on this, I like the former. It's a nice subversion on the 'everyone is from elsewhere' thing you so often see in WoD games. Plus, it gives the PC an inbuilt, normal reason to return to Boston. And if the 'Garou thing' is semi-known in the family, she'd be one of the few mages who can actually chat [a little] about what she really does. [Plus, the fact that Kinfolk count as Awakened in regards to blatancy is always nice...]
Oh yeah, that would work perfectly. I already anticipate her being a bit of an outlier among the Akashics, not being as disciplined and as serious as they'd like. So if she's hanging with techmages? It would Drive. Them. Nuts.
Wouldn't that piss off her fuzzy relatives even more?

Now that's a man who'd spend time with Nick, if only on the basis of 'they're the only one here who makes sense'.

Except mine, of course. Because I'm all secret and special. *smirks*

I do not think only one PC can have connections to fera. I mean a kinfolk to Fienna Garou is not the same as one who is kinfolk to Ratkin, if anything it could end up bringing them all together.
I mean Nicole have never been the shapehanger person in the group, that was Tane, she is developing a relationship with and contact among her follow Ratkin kinfolk and some Ratkin as well I do not see how a Fienna kinfolk rob her of that.
Wouldn't that piss off her fuzzy relatives even more?
It might her then again the leader of the Boston Pack is a Glass Walker, ironically he might go better with tech mages than many mystics. Fienna tend to be a bit more modern and tolerant than many tribes though but there might be growling at family dinners. Literal growling.

More the 'low-class punky kinfolk' thing. My comment wasn't intended to be taken *that* seriously. Speaking purely OOC, I wouldn't object if another took lots of the networking/social connections role from Nick on the basis she's crap at it anyway.

If the character is from MA, chances are they may have a true 'fuzzy relative' or three nearby. And Garou are generally possessive of 'their' kinfolk. And New England is bound to be thick with Fianna anyway.
But hey, just thinking aloud here. It means nothing.

Well the new character is not a soldier nor a mechanic, and having another person with similar political views might benefit Nicole. I mean it is not uncommon for there to be some overlap between characters in a group, as long as they are not copies of one another I do nto see a problem.

I am thinking there will have had to be a few talks. But yes that are the downside of being a kinfolk, you get allies and a few benefits but also a fuzzy family who might be rather over protective. I will leave it up to the player if her family are near Boston or not, if they are then they might be members of Dino's pack.
Re: New Character dicussion thread.
Welcome aboard, folks.
He's Done Some Stuff. And I do believe that's mostly what's considered public knowledge nowadays.
But yeah, Kinfolk could be a cool thing, and Colin would probably be quite alright with a "reformed" Technocrat, too.
If she's in that musical scene, and from Boston, she's probably run into Colin at a ren fair on occasion, a scar-faced silversmith selling handmade, high-quality jewelry from a small workshop (at a substantial mark-up above the usual in-shop prices; customers get a show and a commissioned piece, after all). If she's an Irish immigrant, I hope she's not going to take much issue with Colin, as he's an English immigrant, and a military veteran at that.Morrigan wrote:Hey everyone! That's... hardly a fair or complete explanation of Colin's reputation in Boston. I mean, he's the crazy Orphan who adopted a Nephanda with a heart condition he caused, jumped in a Caul to destroy it from the inside, and got away with not only deeply offending the Senior Quaesitor of Boston, but outright defying her when she tried to arrest him, adopted a vampire Custos in a Hermetic Chantry, and has opened cordial relations with the vampire Prince of Boston after giving a senior Ventrue, his majordomo, and his Childe a liberal sunbath, and found a way to safely use Qlippothic and vampiric Tass... Oh, and he persuaded a Nephandi Battlecruiser to defect from the Fallen using a book and a block of imported margarine.Anja wrote:Yes basically Colin an Orphan have adopted a girl with heart problem...well he actually shot her because she was a Nephandus but when the Labyrinth was taken down he adopted her since she is a kid.
