Plan for Colin Empty Plan for Colin

Post by Anja Rebekka Schultze Thu May 12, 2016 3:06 am

Warp I am moving through the scene at the Post Office basement as quickly as I can to just get that wrapped up, then Colin will be taken back to Morningstar and examined. I am thinking that he is not badly hurt, that Hans will offer to make another time bubble to let him rest, he still owe him for teaching him that Prime rote, so that he can regain some Willpower and that after a rest he can rejoin the game, and that while there will be some pain, not more than he can handle and be functional. I am thinking though that he might have a 1 higher difficulty for magick rolls for some days as his Avatar is bruised.

I am also thinking this can be used as a reason for buying up the Avatar background if you wanted that. Normally I do not let background be bought in play, things have to happen in the story to justify it, but I am thinking that as the Avatar heal, it might heal back stronger allowing you to get a dot or two in Avatar.

Do this work for you or do you want something else to happen?

I am just bumping this so it is seen instead of being hidden under Tane's thread.

Good good, then we should soon be done with the basement scene and can get on with things.

Huh. Just discovered that Avatar is necessary to channel Quintessence at all? O.o
Methinks that is a flaw in the system. Razz
Had I noticed that earlier, I certainly would've spent building points on an Avatar rating instead of extra Quintessence and stuff... Razz

Yeah if you do not have an Avatar rating then you can basically use magick for the Avatar will be able to channel some Quint from the pool, but you can add nothing extra. 0 rating Avatars nearly never Awaken unless the host have a patient teacher guiding them or the host suffer an extreme trauma that jolt the thing awake, or the Avatar is just a stubborn bastard. But yes I will allow you to get a rating in it, after all sometimes when something have been hurt it heals back stronger.

Yeah; I consider the Avatar as a Background thing a design flaw, though. Far too easy to overlook during character creation. Razz

I agree with that I am running a game for a group of new players table top, and I had to remind each and every one about the Avatar rating and that if they do not have one then that will cripple their characters later on in the game.

Very well then one stubborn bastard Avatar improved.

Yes and it also like to annoy Nephandi and anything else that decide to bother it. I would not want to be the Enforcer doing the job if Colin ever get sentenced to Branding, I am sure his Avatar would get even in some way. Hey look at me how tiny and cute I am, oh you are attacking me...chomp. Razz

Hehehe... "Colin Wainwright, it is this Tribunal's decision that you be sentenced to Branding for your violations of Tradition Law. Do you have anything to add before the punishment is administered?"
"While I politely disagree with the Tribunal's reasoning in this matter, I won't protest it further. I will, however, request five minutes to gather myself, and ask that Vittoria D'Angelo be the one to perform the Branding."
"...You are planning something, aren't you, Mr. Wainwright?"
"Perhaps I am; I'd rather not confirm or deny anything at this point in time..." Wink

Hehehe, well if I where D'Angelo I would not accept that request out of fear of having my spiritual fingers chomped on by a very angry and surprisingly hardly little Avatar. You know what they say about dogs, it is the little ones that are the worst. Razz

Hey, if the one person who carries the biggest grudge is asked to Brand him, and she refuses, it might make the Tribunal reconsider the sentence. Wink

Well yes.

This reminds me of when we got a mini hamster, I mean they are smaller than an egg, and just as big no matter what side you view. Anyway my cat came running and we where to far away to help the hamster, but she took care of matters herself and hit the cat straight on the nose with her tiny paw with sharp little claws. Maude never tried to mess with that hamster again. I have a feeling that would be the result if someone tried to Brand Colin. Well what a tiny little Avatar, this will be easy...ehm...oh shit... Razz

And yes I did just compare Colin's Avatar to a creature like this.
