Colin have probably heard the name House Thig, but he do not know that much about them nor do I think he have met any of that house but he would probably go well with them. Kyle though would love them since he want to make a Diablo 2 portal.

He can run into them; Nicole's got to go back to RI in the next Downtime anyway, so he might tag along out of interest and 'pop in' to the Providence Chantry...

That he might or Nicole's old Cabal might come visiting and one of them are a Thig.

Smirnov was in Nicole cabal? That says something about Dry Dock if the ranking Hermetic was in a low-rank cabal...

No his name was not Siminov I think, early on Nicole got a House Thig member of her former Cabal to call to Jeffry and vouch for her, it could be Siminov but I do not think that was the name you gave.

Yes, Dimitri Smirnov. It was the name she gave to Mr Porcupine Adley to vouch for her at the first cabal meeting. I think we was an Adept, though I didn't say whether he was or wasn't in her cabal. He could have been; but it's not important and nor do I mind...

Ah yes that is the man. I got the impression he had been in her Cabal but I was probably wrong on that then so it is up to you, in any case he was from her old Chantry so he might come visiting.

Well, Smirnov might be heading to Providence to drop in on the Emerald Children anyway, and decides to go via Boston [in fact, if he goes by plane chances are he'd do that anyway] and decides to drop in to see Nicole...

That works and Colin will have chance to meet him.

By the way, Colin rather wishes that Nicole will stop referring to Adley as "porcupine head".
It makes his job as Cabal Leader more difficult if people have to concentrate on keeping a straight face during a meeting.

She doesn't call him 'porcupine head', but 'Mr Porcupine'.

It's clearly in the 'I'm not sure whether it's an insult/compliment/description/all of the above' definition of nicknames...

...True enough. Still a nickname which will... cause some distraction at an otherwise serious meeting.

Well, if it's a meeting, she can just glower in Adley's general direction. He in return can respond with haughty glances.

Plus, does he want to ban it and run the risk Nicole coins something worse?

For some reason allot of Technomancers end up being Russian in my games.

Mr Porcuine might not be a good nickname to call Adley to his face.

I think they'd email you a fireball for calling them "technomancers". They're 'techno-Hermetics!'

Possibly it then again they might be happy with being technomancer Hermetics. Emailed fireballs though that would be useful.

Pretty sure Adley's already talked to Nicole's former Hermetic cabalmate for tips on how to deal with her attitude : P

The problem is that while it is clear he at times also had a problem with said attitude since Nicole lost her arm saving his life he is reluctant to say something bad about it, though his advice have been a bit like this, sigh, grin and bear it and buy a good headset so you can ignore said attitude easier.

Smirnov may have had a much easier time from Nicole; while she's no fans of Hermetics in general it's Adley's combination of 'smugness'/'arrogance'/'pedantry' which is really getting under her skin and aggravates old wounds.

I guess the problem is that others do not really see Adley as smug and arrogant. Like Patrick Dale said when he wrote Adley a letter from his cell on Horizon:

To the Hermetic who interrogated me, I do not now his name but he had blue eyes and dark hair and he was kind but uptight and the ones accepting the letter recognized Adley right away. So a bit uptight and perhaps a bit pedantic yes but my experience of Adley is not that he is arrogant or smug.

Colin was closest when he commented about 'Nicole seeing Adley as a class enemy'. Nick is giving voice to the deepening disenchantment, disconnect and annoyance of the 'blue collar working class' against the 'liberal professionals' of which Adley appears [to her] to be.

She's a character I've wanted to play for some time; all the other Mage games I've seen appear to be entirely populated by polite middle-class people.

Well in many ways we have the Brujah vs the elder Ventrue's childe problem here. Adley is kind and nice however while Jeffry is tolerant he do represent the old system of the Traditions, after all he is a respected Master of the art and a Deacon of a Chantry, raised by mages so he have never known anything else. But yes while mages comes from any walk of life the majority of the player characters and the NPCs closest to the are from middle class backgrounds.
