Nestle is owned by the Nephandi

I am just commenting OOC here since there is nothing for me to reply on in the IC thread right now. I believe that it is semi cannon, as in it could nto be put in the books or fear of being sued but Brucato have stated it as true that Nestle are owned by the Nephandi and associated with Pentex.

Yeah, makes perfect fucking sense.

"We're selling bottled water and mother's milk formula to poor African villages where we've purchased the sole rights to drain the groundwater" kind of attitude.

Also, their brilliant recent argument that "following requirements to report slavery might hurt chocolate prices"...

Yeah, Nestlé is definitely a Nephandi-owned corporation.

If there was ever a company to be the living embodiment of pentex or nephandi values it would be Nestle.  

The company that tried to argue that drinkable water wasn't a human right.

Well, it's quite possible that major Fallen own shares within Nestlé, but I actually doubt it. The issue is than in the modern world, major companies are rarely run by those who actually own it.

If you wanted a major company to create swathes of pain and evil in a manner it didn't get the world busting down it's HQ doors, you infiltrate it in the mid and mid-upper echelons. A middle-manager in the right position and with a few allies/pawns on their side can be a very powerful being - more so than a 'Fallen on the board' for said manager actually directly has their hands on the levers, while the board-member has to work through several layers of corporate bureaucracy which may 'correct' or at least mitigate the issue.

Cheaper too. Nestlé is the 33rd largest company on the planet. It has assets of $129 billion. It's about 20% bigger than Google. It's more powerful than Portugal.

If the Fallen controlled that amount of finance, the war is lost. It can afford the kit for every Bond villain ever and still have enough cash left over for the Dr Evil Island. It could quite literally be able to buy nations, armies and presidents.

So I'm going to politely say to Brucato; no, they don't. They can't.

You assume the goal of the Nephandi is about controlling the world.

It is not.

They are pushing the world to break down and deteriorate into an Entropic collapse, Unmaking it all.

That can't be accomplished by blowing it up by force of arms, they've got to literally break the hearts of the common folk - by inducing poverty and other forms of pointless suffering, and making the world just shittier. Buying a Dr. Evil island would be a counterproductive investment.

You need control to push the world into active collapse, or to at least cripple chances of natural recovery. And companies are perhaps the powerful tool of doing this in 2015.

My point was simply that 'control' of Nestlé [or any company] via Fallen and pawns controlling key positions would be much more effective and cheaper than trying to seize control of the whole thing via the boardroom and actual ownership. Plus, a company that size *is* watched - and some of the people doing the watching will know Fallen when they see it.

'Key' is an interesting point. Most people think the CEO and so on are 'key'. They're not. Find the ones who are the main conduits of orders, the ones who fill the boring-but-important positions. One RL example of this was Stalin; he was known as 'Comrade Card Index' in the 20s when he was in the dull position which handled personnel. Yet it allowed him to place his own people in key positions without anyone being aware of it.

One WoD example is 'Tina Tyler'. She's got herself into a humble, but powerful position as an executive secretary in Endron Oil [at least in c2002]. She sees and hears much, and has the ability to put her own 'spin' on orders and so on. Monkey-wrenching Ratkin do similar, as the forgettable office temps.

True, the board room is not the most effective way to control Nestlé.

Twenty bucks says the secretarial pool, especially the C-levels' personal secretaries, is loaded with subtle Nephandic influencers, gently guiding their respective bosses' decisions.

Ownership, though - as with all things in Big Biz, I'd say it's likely they own it through intermediaries, rather than directly.

I think any large org the size of Nestlé would be rather strongly shot through with a myriad of agents, all following their own orders.

Another excellent position to be in is the 'dead-end professional'; the person who's valued due to their professional skill, but there's no higher grade to promote them to and they're too niche for redeployment. Examples; in-house lawyer, accountant and archivist. Quite often, your boss will have little idea what your job actually does and because you're never been made to play 'musical chairs' your 'office knowledge' will be superb.

Though I'd be more likely to target the B-level managers. They are akin to the NCOs in most companies, and thus a perfect blend of anonymity / power.

Though I don't get why you're still plugging ownership. The owners of public companies the size of Nestlé have even less power than the board. However, a clever 'group' can subvert a public company by controlling another organisation which owns a big block of shares in it. Remember the film Casino? The Mid-West Mafia Dons had control of the Teamster's Pension Fund, which granted the loan for the Tangiers on the agreement they'd get their 'little suitcases' from the casino.
