You pulled out the fly swatter, the spirits continued to scream, one of them reached out toward towards Francis and the younf Flambeau collapsed in pain on the ground howling in agony.

He had to try to offer some protection, especially to the prisoner, those most affected by the spirits and Violet, but if he could manage to get adjacent to one of the spirits he'd attack it when it went for Francis. Otherwise, move his group so that he and Nicole could defend them better, and try to get Francis out of his predicament. It depended how far away they all were and where. All the while, bad memories kept trying to pummel him down. All of his friends, people he knew in the present and past, the people he considered family - Colin, his avatar attacked and shot; Freddy, shot in the head. partly blinded, Adjan, his leg broken several times and other injuries, Narim, his hand blown off and attacked by a paradox spirit, his brother, killed by the Technocracy, Beatrice/Claire, Arto's hands, the caul that had a name that was once a child...so many people...and pain that was all true. But there would be even more if he didn't help keep these things off of them...

Although it was not enough to break her focus, it actually looked like it bothered her to have her barrier attacked, so Tane ran to the biggest weapons he found onder the gunmen, released the safety, aimed and squeezed like he had already seen at movies, trying to bring the barrier down or at least make her nervous. As he shot, she also walked step by step at her with the sword hanging from a cord

Dalisse nodded at that.

He smiled, "Now, the chap slinking toward the auto shop team with fear and trepidation... how do things look on that end?"

"Let me see, he seam to be one corridor away from the auto shop team now...they have stopped dead in their tracks though, I suspect they have encountered resistence."
The Handler said and frowned.

[Serge] (At Rosa's apartment babysitting the mage girls at 2 30 in the afternoon.)

Serge's hands were a blue as he quickly drew the scene. Each of the party members galloping along on their horses. As they ventured deeper and deeper the forest around them became rife with more and more vegetation.

Eventually an eerie green light shown on all of the heroes and each of them turned to see what new trial they had to face this time.

It was Jane's turn and she continued the story.
"The party saw nothing but the light from their own torches, darkness and the eerie green light. "Give me something to hit!" Vincent complained. Then suddenly there where movement in that eerie light and a beautiful woman wearing a long, black dress slowly stepped forward."
Rosa took over.
"The woman looked like she was a queen, beautiful and confident with a cold look in her dark eyes. "So you made it all the way here." The dark queen said. "Very good, very good but I am afraid your little quest end here, and your life will fuel the darkness forever."

Nicole you fire at the spirits and you hit one of them right in the chest, the screaming spirit shuddered and took half a step back, clearly affected but the bullet did not seam to bother it to much.

The spirits where quite close, you managed to move in on the eyeless one who where attacking Francis, the thing shid away from the fly swatter, after all there where pretty strong magick imbued in the thing. Francis stopped screaming and tried to get to his feet but he was rather shaken up you could see.

The spirit who still had it's eyes turned to you, it clearly did not like to get to close to the fly swatter but it still reached out for you, and you could feel it's corupptive influence, a sarp pain rose up in you something from anywhere and nowhere but then the screaming spirit yelped at Mundis jumped it going for the throat, the spirit tossed the dog to the side and both Mundis and Darrian cried out in pain, Familiar and master shared sensations perhaps, but at least Mundis had gotten the spirit of your case for just a moment.

(OOC: Sorry I missed Nicole's attack earlier, she do one lethal.)

(OOC: Sorry for the late reply the movie was fun but very noisy so I was pretty overwealmed and tired when I came home yesterday.)

You where not used to handeling a firearm, getting it to fire was easy enough but how powerful the gun kicked would be a suprise, even so the barriar where not hard to hit, the rune mage looked in your direction for a moment but she could not really take her attention of the two Masters of the art trying to take her down and your actions where distracting her.
"Would you kindly behave yourself you little shit!"
She growled as she focused on resisting the Master Verbena and Master Hermetic's spells.

"I believe it is some of the spirits...I can feel an elemental Lady Larson have working for the Labyrinth in the machine room so it is not her so if I where to guess it would be the two manifestations of pain...nasty Umbroods those."
She informed you.

You fired at the spirit without eyes and he grunted and stepped back antoher few steps, there where no wounds on it's body, well other than what was part of it's form, but none from the bullets but it was clear that the bullets harmed it though not allot as it continued screaming and trying to step forwards again to get to you and your allies to do who knows what to you.

He tapped out a quick message to Adley and Morgan, 'If you are dealing with a pair of pain spirits, they should find kindness and compassion, pain relief and that sort of thing quite abhorrent.'

Nicole halted for just a second or three; to take stock of the situation. Did the Crypids have any physical weapons [or body parts that could be weapons, like blades?]. How large/heavy did they appear? How were the rest of the parties' attacks faring? Were the enemy only moving back a little from the force of the rounds?

Colin pondered for a moment, then frowned as he fished out his phone again, "Can you suggest to the spirits that Larson is presently quite... defenseless and in pain in the armoury?"

"I doubt they will be able to understand my explination, those spirits are rather instinctual, they react to what they see and feel telling them there are food somewhere else might not be concrete enough for them."
Dalisse said and shook her head.

Nicole halted for just a second or three; to take stock of the situation. Did the Crypids have any physical weapons [or body parts that could be weapons, like blades?]. How large/heavy did they appear? How were the rest of the parties' attacks faring? Were the enemy only moving back a little from the force of the rounds?

The pair had no real weapons, not physical ones anyway, they had the form to tall, very skinny, gray skinned human beings with a number of torture wounds all over their bodies, their attacks seamed to be mysical. They looked to be of average human height and far to thin. It seamed like the attacks the other memeber of the party where doing was having an effect but the beings seamed to be rather tough and as soon as they got the chance they would inflict terrible torment on their enemies. Yes they only move about a step or two back from the bullets and quickly press forwards again.

The large woman sucked her teeth for a moment, then came up with a plan. Of sorts. If somewhere in the middle of the group, she'll move towards the front [avoiding being shot etc, naturally] to make her be one of the first the Cryptids encounter. If still out of close combat range, she'll then shoot the closest enemy - if within range, she'll give them a solid kick [Snap Kick] in the lower torso, hoping to knock them back, or even better to the floor.

You move forwards, the others aim their weapons away from you, you deliver a kick to the chest of the closest spirit and send it to the ground, it just continued screaming and your leg felt like every bone in it had shattered as you impacted that thing, not from the impact, but the feelings still washed over you, intense, unberable agony though it lessened when your foot stopped contacting th spirit and you could see no damage though it sure as hell felt like it was just about shredded. The Umbrood was on the ground now through.

(OOC: You get no damage, I rolled your Willpower and got two sucsesses so Nicole can pretty much shrug off the experience though it did hurt pretty badly.)

It was Jane's turn and she continued the story.

Serge drew Vincent complaining to the eerie green light and the green light replying by producing a pretty women wearing a raven-black dressed that dragged along behind her as she walked forwards.

Rosa took over.

Serge further added to the queen's features, giving her a crown made of shadows and dark eyeliner. She had an air of the queen and exuded the atmosphere of royal authority that not even Princess Katie could muster.

She stood elegantly amongst the gnarled trees that surrounded her, basking in the green light as she taunted the protagonists

You managed to grab the other Flambeau who where now screaming on the floor and drag the man back, which seamed to ease his suffering, the spirit with eyes scowled at you and your flyswatter then it got busy with Darrian as the alchemist threw something on them from a small, very wll corked bottle while shourting.
"Don't fuck with my dog asshole!"
Whatever was in the bottle had an effect as the spirit's physical form flickered for a moment and it stood completely frozen on the floor. Fran took the chance to fire a few bullets at the frozen, flickering spirits just for good measure.

His phone message chimed again...if he heard his pater's phone go off too, he'd know he was rather too busy atm. Then again, he was a bit also...

You did hear Jeffry's phone ping as well though the old mage where rather busy with the banishment spell he was cooking up and which would solve your problem if you could give him just a few more seconds to unleash it.

You shot at one of the spirits, and it clearly had enough of that bullshit more than enough and it focused on you even as it drew back from Adley's strange weapon and screamed again, pain like nothing you had felt before shoot through every part of your body, it felt like you had been skinned alive and every bone in your body was broken, you where a stubborn woman but there was a limit to how much even you could endure.

(OOC: I rolled your Willpower for again 2 sucsesses, I would say that meant Nicole do fall to the ground under that onslaught of pain but she should be able to get back up rather quickly and continue fighting.)

(OOC: Legion are on my emmidiate to watch list and Marvel makes allot of good characters who are good as abusing Mind magick. )

Yu Die took her turn.
"Both Vincent and the pirate raised their bladed and rushed the dark queen but with a flick of her hand green energy shot towards them and tossed them back, smoke rising from them and they where rewarded with cracked ribbs for their troubble. Jonah tried to create a fireball but with another flick of the queen's hand the spell winked out out existence."
It was Liv's turn and Jane translated.
"Dr Moonlight ran to help the two wounded men while Princess katine tried to attack the queen with her pink cat sword, but she to was just thrown back by a ball of green light and she landed hard on the ground and grunted. "Why do you do this, why do you serve the darkness, do you not know that the pepole of Unicornia are dying?" Dr Moonlight demanded and the dark queen gave a evil smile. "Of course I know child." She said in a velvet voice. "And I like it."

The spirit with eyes was having a bad day as first he got frozen by Darrian's potion and then smacked by the magical fly swatter, for just a moment it stopped screaming and drew back, being close to the things still hurt but it lessened as the Umbrood gave way just a bit, you then went to tap the spirit without eyes who was trying to get back to it's feet and it to stopped screaming for a moment and scrurried back from the enchanted fly swatter.

He figured this was going to hurt the spirit more than the reverse, anyway the damn thing's scream was doing a number on them.

You did have the time to read the message Colin as sent you.

He grabbed at his phone, wishing they'd had the time to get the communication gear they'd thought of - and read it, then shoved it away again. Aloud, he said, "Listen, these spirits /are/ pain, they will find comfort, kindness and compassion, pain relief to be anathema..." It made sense. A spirit like this would be naturally attracted to what it was, and wish to perpetuate that state and visit it upon them. He tried to think of all the things that had happened in the wake of some of the pains he'd seen, how much he realised he cared about people, some of those pains had done something to him besides hurt. He didn't lower the flyswatter though, since they might try to attack them again he'd return the favor. But he tried to fight the pains that had happened, that were real and some he had yet to fully integrate or accept, but some had yeilded something else besides woe.

Serge drew the pirate and Vincent getting thrown back as was the usual. Vincent in particular was complaining about why they didn't have any sort of magick shields for this sort of thing.

His complaints were ignored as Jonah began to weave his magick and formed a giant fireball in his hands. With an elegant flick of her wrist, the queen quickly counter-spelled the debonair's spell and where their was one a sun-like ball of fire now their was just wisp of smoke.

It was Liv's turn and Jane translated.

Serge threw the valient Princess Katie charging toward the queen, pink sword in hand. Her effort were fruitless as she was thrown away in a similar fashion to the two swordsmen.

He drew the conversation between the two royal women in true comic book fashion, with alternating speech bubbles portraying what the drawings were saying.

The others may see her hunch down a little as her knees began to buckle, as though sheer stubbornness was attempting to keep her upright. Then she fell to her knees, somehow managing to keep hold of her rifle.

Within, over the pain that gnarled dark thing called "self-preservation" pressed every button it could; that if she gave in she would die. Like back in Crosswinds, the only thing was to hold out a little longer...

'Must... remain... threat...' Nicole muttered to herself as scraped up what mental reserves she could muster to get off her knees - every second she was being attacked was one which the Chief wasn't. There was a decent chance she didn't either hear or compute what Adley had said.

You remember carefully forming a ball of cold air and very, very gently wrapping Arto's broken hands around them, the Diedne's eyes watching you nervously and defiantly the whole time, but the cold as well as holding his hands in a natural position and keeping the still had helped and the prisoner had setteled down and eventually fallen asleep, you had to hurt him, but you had did what you could to ease his pain afterwards. You remember Beatrice's screams but the documents you had gotten had stopped the ritual, had saved her, you remember giving a small sliver of your own soul so Cita could save her Avatar, and you remember telling the terrified, wounded Verbena that she was still a mage, one day she would work magick again, she would be better. Kyle would be put on trial, and you where the one who had taken him in, and while there was a chance that trial would go badly, with Jeffry protecting him it was a greater chance the boy would be Branded and left in his new Mentor's care, and you would be there to help him get back on his feet, and then he would be a Traditionalist, he would be safe and have a chance to grow. As you thought of times when you had helped heal pain and discomfort, had offered comfort and compassion the sorrow and dread from the Umbrood's screams lessened in your mind, though the pair of them gave you rather dirty looks.

Getting back on your feet after the attack from the spirit was not easy, but it was satisfying, the pain still ripped though your body though, but then it stopped as the two screaming spirits focused their attention on Adley looked somewhat confused as if they did not know what do do now, then one of them redirected his efforts towards you and the other looked at Fran and she went down screaming, swearing and then screaming again.

[Serge] (At Rosa's apartment babysitting the mage girls at 2 30 in the afternoon.)

Serge threw the valient Princess Katie charging toward the queen, pink sword in hand. Her effort were fruitless as she was thrown away in a similar fashion to the two swordsmen.

He drew the conversation between the two royal women in true comic book fashion, with alternating speech bubbles portraying what the drawings were saying.

It was Jane's turn and she said.
"Princess Katie got to her feet and she looked at the evil queen defiantly. "You might be more powerful than us, but we will fight you and we will triumph or die trying!" The royal princess said before she charged the queen again. Jonah decided to join in and Alexa, all three doing their best to take down the beautiful monster before them, but with another flick of her hand the queen tossed Princess Katie's sword aside and countered the spells of the two mages."
Rosa took over and continued the story.
"Lilywater joined in and she tried to create a rush of water to wash the evil queen away but her spell as well was countered. The two swordsmen got back to their feet to attack their foe but their blades just hit a barriar of air around the dark queen Jonah could not resist bending down to pick up Princess Katie's sword and hand it back to her after it had been thorn from her hand by the dark queen, before he got back into the fray himself. Dr Moonlight pulled out a silver ray gun, aimed it at the dark quite and fired rainbow rays at her."

"So...these things are repelled by being kind?" Theodora said she sounded quite skeptical. "No...by anything that reduce pain and suffering, think of it this way an elemental might be repelled by something that will change or destroy it's element it is the same thing Miss." Darrian said hastily.

"Right!" he agreed with Darrian. Not that it was an easy prospect exactly, it was easier to want retribution on them. But he knew many times when he'd helped to reduce pain, or suffering even if he was a Flambeau and not a healer. The latest with Cecila, helping her leg after the injection. Comforting Narim when his hand was bleeding. Even sitting with his mentor when he was mourning, even if he hadn't known what to say - and when the caul's avatar had been released to reincarnate, though it had been through fire, it too was reducing extreme suffering of the trapped spirits. Which did remind him there was supposed to be one here, he'd assumed for some reason that the Air elemental would have come with these, but apparently not. It seemed to confused the pain spirits but not for too long - as Nicole thankfully recovered they went for Fran. Pulling her from their grasp was reducing pain, just as when he had helped his sodalis.

Serge drew the princess standing defiantly in front of the queen, her words raising the moral of her teammates (except the pirate who didn't look too keen on dying for her).

The mages attacked with all of their might. Jonah conjured a vortex of flames and Alexa conjured a snowstorm to assault the queen who with a snap of her fingers countered both spells.

Princess Katie's sword was thrown aside by the same snap and the cat princess looked bewildered by the power of the queen's simple snap.

Rosa took over and continued the story.

Another three-pronged attack as the two swordsmen got to their feet and rushed the queen just as the nature nymph conjured a river from her hands. Both attacks were in vain as the swords clanged off of the queen's barrier and the water simply forked around the barrier before it was countered.

Dr. Moonlight, who had taken up a healer role, was now on the offensive as she pulled out a very complicated raygun. Serge drew many complicated dials, buttons, and knobs on the device to give it a futuristic look. When the doctor pulled the trigger a brilliant rainbow poured out of it and homed in on the queen.

"Hey stay with me, you do not want me to get out of buying you a drink when we are done here do you!"
The she fired at the pain spirits with the same slight but not to impressive effect. The spirits did not like it when you helped Fran though, carefully dragging the Euthanathos out of their reach.
"Fuck I think I soiled myself."
Fran muttered still rather out of it.
"And I am wearing my favorite Rilakkuma undies as well, I am billing the Labyrinth for a new pair."
She muttered seamingly rather confused and not quite back to her wits yet before whimpering again.
"That fucking hurt those spirits are assholes!"
Said asshole spirts hissed at you for your display of kindness and looked at you as if you had brought a dead rat to the queen's dinner party.

She shouted as she sent a burst of dark lightening at the unicorn healer sendng Dr Moonlight to the ground screaming."
Liv took over helped by Jane.
"Vincent quickly used the opertunity to thurst his sword through the opening iin the queen's protection that the rainbow gun had created and the crystal sword opened a gash in the dark queen's arm, she responded by an anoyed flick of her wrist to throw him back but he had made her bleed and proven that the woman was not unbeatable."
Jane took over herself and said.
"The spellcasters redoubeled their efforsts to take the dark queen down, spell after spell they cast as Princess katine attacked the barriar with her sword. Dr Moonlight slowly sat up, she was wounded and hurt but she raised her rainbow ray gun again and fired it at the dark queen, creating another hole in her barriar. The dark queen responded with lightening and fireball, nearly cooking our heroes several times."

As you where drawing you noticed something...someone looking at your pencil strokes and lines, the same thing you had encountered that day you Awakened, something deep inside of you that you could not quite put your finger on but iit watched you draw, interested, patient and curious, it watched.

(OOC: The pain spirits do not like Adley he will not be getting Christmas cards from them. )

"Hah nothing stands up to the power of rainbows!" Serge said as he drew the scene. The rainbow breaking through the shield, a loud shattering sound echoed throughout the forest.

The queen was not happy as her dark eyeliner began to glow (along with her eyes) as black lightening began cracking at her fingertips. With a final taunt the queen now went on the the offensive and fired the anti-lightning at the unicornian doctor the force of which launched her several feet backwards.

Liv took over helped by Jane.

A flash of steel could briefly be seen and then a large cut appeared on the queens arm shortly afterwards, crimson red blood seeping through the new opening.

Two hits had now landed on their new foe and all of the heroes redoubled their efforts. Frost, fire, cat, bullets, and much more were thrown at her and the queen was quickly getting overwhelmed.

Dr. Unicorn, whose hair was now quite frizzy due to the lightning, fire her skittle ray gun once more at villainous queen shattering another portion of her shield.

Enough was enough and now the queen was mad. Serge drew her raising her arms high in the air and launching a barrage of shadow-lightning into the sky. These bolts quickly came down upon all of the members of the party as each and every one was cooked alive.

Serge's drawing slowed as he sensed this new presence. It was familiar....eerily so. Something he recognized from that special day.

His hands continued to move, drawing more pictures for the curious being to enjoy. As he drew he began to look deep inside himself and curious himself, attempted to talk to the being with his thoughts.

"Do you like my pictures?" Serge thought to himself in an attempt to talk with the being patiently watching him.
