Colin quickly glanced around the room before stepping up to shake Isabella's hand with a quick bow, "The pleasure is mine, miss Jarden. I gather your keen eyes identified me by the signet ring I wear?", he added with a small wink.
"Ah, more seriously, though - Mrs. Knox isn't here yet?"

Isabella smiles a little, her hand is quite cold and doll like to touch, not quite like touching a warm living hand, but not so different either that it would stand out to most.
"Well I did notice your ring Sir but more it was a guess on my part, two men are going to attend our meeting, Mr Roth Hicks I have met, though he have not presented himself to me yet, the Chief mentioned his name, and then it is the Chief so finding another man here I guessed at who you are."
The woman said then she nodded.
"Kristina is just checking on her children to see that they are sleeping peacefully, she will be right down."

"Yes Sir Kristina said she set up a ward, and I have set up one, but I do not know how well it will hold."
Isabella said sounding apologetic. Around that time the door opened and you see Kristina come into the room she smiles to Isabella then gives you a nod.
"Ah Mr Wainwright please forgive my tardiness, I wanted to check in on my children and those of my mentor when I had a few moments before the meeting."
The Verbena explains.

Colin smiled, "Well, I don't think any one of us is a specialist in wards; I think, though, that it shouldn't be much of a problem. I might be able to add to security, though..."
He nodded back, "Hardly tardy; I only just arrived, and I believe Adley is still on the phone. Hum, I understand you set up some sort of ward? Alright, ladies, precisely what have you set up?"

Colin smiled, "Well, I don't think any one of us is a specialist in wards; I think, though, that it shouldn't be much of a problem. I might be able to add to security, though..."

"Yes well every put of security we can get helps Sir, I think Kristina set up one of her crystal layouts over there."
The vampiress said and pointed to the teacher's desk where you saw several stones laid out in a complex pattern.

He nodded back, "Hardly tardy; I only just arrived, and I believe Adley is still on the phone. Hum, I understand you set up some sort of ward? Alright, ladies, precisely what have you set up?"

"Ah good, I hate to keep people waiting."
Kristina said then she to pointed at the desk.
"It is a adaption of the Verbena flower wards using crystals, the central crystal will shatter if anyone try to use magick from the outside on this room, as with for example a scrying spell."
She explained. Isabella nodded.
"I have set up a simple ward that hopefully will confuse anyone who manage to eavesdrop by mundane means, it should make unwelcome ears hear gibberish."
She said and played with one of her braids.
"It is a ritual of my own making actually."

Colin nodded, "That does sound more effective than what I might come up with. If you'll permit me to take a closer look, though..."
He slipped his monocle into place, and started chanting, "Conspectus magia, specimenae distinguit..."

((OOC: The usual Prime Scan; Arete rolls 8,8,0 and 4,8,9... I'll stop at that; should be enough to distinguish any magic in the room without lighting every housefly up like a bonfire. Wink ))

"Off course Mr Wainwright do feel free to have a look."
Isabella said and Kristina nodded. You work your magick and you see two effects in the room, one are very static and seam to be placed on the boundaries of the room, the second one, centered in Kristina's crystal grid was Dynamic, elegantly woven but not very powerful, the static effect if you where to place it in the Sphere system would be Prime and Mind, it is hard to read but is likely to do what Isabella says it will, Kristina's effect is a Prime ward simple as that, you see no other active magick in the room though off course since this room are usually filled with mages there are residues everywhere.

Colin hissed for a moment, then nodded, "Yes, miss Jarden's work seems to be somewhat outside my field, but it seems to be solid work. And Mrs. Knox' ward seems... simple and elegant. I don't think I shall have to be adding to your work, ladies; at best I suspect I could only give myself a severe itch, with little actual benefit..."

Isabella gave a bit of a smile.
"Thank you Mr Wainwright, I am told that my workings to an Awakened mage look like that of a hedge wizard but even more static."
She said then she added with some concern in her vice.
"But forgive me for asking but are you well, it look almost like that working caused you pain.."
The vampiress asked then she looked down.
"Forgive me, it is not my business."

Kristina gave you a bit of a smile.
"Why thank you, wards is not my strong suit so I did think keeping it simple would be best, I do have the same concern as Miss Jarden though, are you allright Mr Wainwright?"
She asked and gave you a worried look.
"Is your Avatar alright?"

You get a flash of annoyance from your Avatar, no words but the same kind of irritation someone might get after an accident when the tenth person have asked if they are fine, it is like if it is grumbling at the two ladies, yes yes I am not a bloody invalid. There where no such words, just that sense of indignation.

(OOC: Yes quite fun one of my friends had gotten herself some duel decks that we tested out, you know the pre made decks that are sold in two packs meant to play up against one another.)

Colin shrugged, then began to chuckle, "My Avatar is just itchy... Using magic just itches a bit. Also, it would seem my Avatar has less patience than I do with that particular question. I think it's beginning to become a... sore subject for it, really. It might be better if you don't press the issue unless I start displaying violent reactions to using magic."

"Ah forgive me Sir."
Isabella said but she gave you a puzzled look she could understand intellectually what an Avatar was and how it interacted with it's host but she had never experienced anything like that herself and having a second being living inside of you did seam odd to her. Kristina though just nodded.
"Very well Mr Wainwright, I have no desire to insult your soul."
She said politely then moved on to avoid the topic becoming awkward.
"So in your opinion our wards will hold?"

"No I do not know but this Tian kid looks like he is barely twenty so his kid can not be that old, unless the boy is older than he looks."
Tyler said and sigh. "I see a replacement bride for the little shit Nicolai? Hum...yes that would be unfortunate I will ask him his daughter's age."

"Good, I would like to know if it's something we should be considering."

"Not likely...I would say his goose is pretty much cooked." Tyler said sounding a bit surprised about your question. "Why do you ask?"

There was a moment of silence before he answered. "Because as far as I've come to understand how this group of Nephandi work, they have been hedging their bets. They want something out of this arrangement with your Prince. I doubt this current situation is a coincidence, I feel they are going to try to use this to their advantage. How convenient would it be to have someone your society has deemed they no longer want around, someone important and powerful, but according to your own ways of doing things, fit for execution? Likewise, if they have lost one child they were going to trade with they may scrape up the next most convenient one that will fit the bill in order to secure their deal." He sighed. "We need to stop Abigail from fulfilling her wishes or there will be problems in this city. Your leaders are bound to get more than they are bargaining for...or perhaps I should say less than they wanted."

// sorry for the late reply I had a minor case of the 'can't's - sort of like writer's block. But with everything xD So, did Samantha go back with Adley and Colin or is she with one of the cars?

"Good, I would like to know if it's something we should be considering."

"Very well I will let you know about the child's age if she is within the range that I think Nicolai might be considering, I doubt he would want to raise someone to young though, I suspect he is looking for a girl of about the same age he was when he became one of us."
Tyler commented.

"I see, you are thinking these...Nephandi as you call them want to use this Tremere elder as a sacrifice of some sort? Well I have heard of magic requiring such actions..."
Tyler said then she sigh.
"I will see what I can do to try to get this blood wizard of the hook, I can not promise anything but you do not get to become my age without getting some allies and doing some favors, perhaps I can do something to put an end to the sacrifice plan, slow Abigail down a bit at least if it is an important part of her plot."
The old vampiress said

Likewise, if they have lost one child they were going to trade with they may scrape up the next most convenient one that will fit the bill in order to secure their deal." He sighed.

"A mage child then, I would assume Nicolai would want a bride with magical talents...I do not know how common your kind is, or how common child magic users are but you might consider warning your society about this danger."

"We need to stop Abigail from fulfilling her wishes or there will be problems in this city. Your leaders are bound to get more than they are bargaining for...or perhaps I should say less than they wanted."

"I agree mage, I agree, the problem is finding this Abigail, if I knew where she was I would be willing to help move against her like I said, but before I know that there is little else I can do than try to counter her political moves in my society and hope my head is not the next on the chopping block."
Tyler sounded a bit frustrated.
"Damn it but I prefer to deal with enemies that are out in the open rather than those that like to play shadow games!"

(OOC: Not a problem post when you feel like it, and yes I do get those at times as well so I quite understand what you mean. I am thinking Sam is with the group driving back.)

Colin grinned, "It's fine; I am fine, but I've been asked that question a few times too many in the past couple of hours, it seems."
He turned to Isabella, "Long story short, earlier tonight I was hit with something that normally should have done damage to my Avatar. What happened instead was that it not only shrugged off the damage, but grew; spiritually, it's mich like a crab that molted - exposed and a bit tender, and using magic is like touching a rather large, sensitive patch of skin. It... itches, of sorts. And everyone is deeply concerned on my behalf, attempting to coddle me like an infant with a cold, rather than as an adult with a large bruise."
He winked to Kristina, "Granted, I was out cold for two days, so I suppose some of that concern, at least, is quite well warranted."
He glanced around again, nodding thoughtfully, "Your arrangement, miss Jarden, rather reminds me of an even chicken wire mesh; regular and covering the whole place evenly. And yours, Mrs. Knox, is so simple in nature that subtlety shouldn't be able to work at all to circumvent it... While I doubt they will hold against anything and everything, I would hazard the combination can only be brute-forced. We would know in an instant by that center crystal."

Colin grinned, "It's fine; I am fine, but I've been asked that question a few times too many in the past couple of hours, it seems."

"Well it seams your Avatar have an attitude Mr Wainwright, but yes I can understand how being asked the same question again and again can get tiresome after a while. I nearly died from a Paradox backlash...several of them I had a nasty buildup of it and as I recovered every sneeze would lead to concerned questions, I got...irritating rather quickly even if the people asking was well meaning so I can sympathize."
Kristina said and gave you a little smile. Isabella nodded.
"Yeah I get it as well I spent five years staked but kept awake with blood, I do not know if you know how that works Sir but suffice to say when I got released my Sire and my Cotorie was quite concerned with my well being, a little to concerned at times...and often I thought yes yes, I know I stumble but I just need to get into the habit of moving again do not ask me one more time if I am alright please."
The vampire said and shuddered though she did give a small smile.
"It seams I have turned around and done exactly the same, to my defense though I did not know what was wrong."
She said sounding apologetic.

Isabella nodded.
"I get how that can be irritating."
She said and nodded.
"On the other had it is a good thing that people are concerned about your well being Sir."
Kristina raised an eyebrow then she muttered.
"I hope you will excuse me for saying so Mr Wainwright but it seams your Avatar is highly unusual. Well most mages do get a be queasy about damage to one's Avatar, when I was Paradox sick so much of the stuff hardened in my Avatar, just sitting there and causing backlash after backlash never dissipating it had to be cut out, while the operation was not...pleasant I do not fondly remember the coddling afterwards, especially since I got out of it with no lasting damage, my mentor have enough resources to hire the best for the job, I was lucky, well anyway I can understand how frustrating it is for you."
The Verbena said and gave a bit of a smile.
"I will try not to coddle you Sir."

He winked to Kristina, "Granted, I was out cold for two days, so I suppose some of that concern, at least, is quite well warranted."

"Yes well, I guess the question is how would you react to someone else being in your situation. I complain when my husband and mentor coddled me when I was recovering from being sick, but my husband got home to late one morning and was badly burnt, I guess I was rather concerned for him as well...long after he had healed."
Kristina said with a bit of a grin then she turned serious.
"Perhaps part of that was worry about what could have happened if he had been outside in the sun just a few moments longer."

He glanced around again, nodding thoughtfully, "Your arrangement, miss Jarden, rather reminds me of an even chicken wire mesh; regular and covering the whole place evenly.

The vampiress gave a bit of a proud smile at that.

And yours, Mrs. Knox, is so simple in nature that subtlety shouldn't be able to work at all to circumvent it... While I doubt they will hold against anything and everything, I would hazard the combination can only be brute-forced. We would know in an instant by that center crystal."

Kristina nodded.
"Well yes, my ward will not hold anything out, but it will let us know if magick targets this room or anything in it, the point is not protection to to avoid us being overheard, if something targets this room we will know and can cease the discussion."
She explained.

Colin smiled, then frowned, "It is a rather ornery little bastard in its own right. No apology necessary, miss Jarden; you had no way of knowing why I felt discomfort. And... that staking incident sounds something beyond unpleasant. We... have a vampire in temporary protective custody back home; he willingly accepted that staking, mind - to be close to one precious to him - and we hope to release him from that captivity shortly."
He pondered, "I have a small hypothesis about why my Avatar behaves anomalously like that... As I've been told, theoretically, an Avatar can't be completely destroyed, only reduced to, well, the equivalent of its molecules, separated and scattered. These remnants eventually drift toward... what was the term, the Well of Souls or somesuch? Anyways, as I understand, they can over time congeal, rebuild themselves from the drifting fragments. Sort of like Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen, if you read that comic... and I think there was a movie of it, too... In any case, mine is a Pattern Avatar - methodical, systematic, orderly. The only logical reason I can come up with for why it acts so... out of sorts, I suppose, is that it has rebuilt itself from fragments, and remembers just enough of it not to want to go through it again. It's an outlandish hypothesis, but... it's the best explanation I can come up with."
He scratched his cheek, "I suppose, though, the concern is not only over what might have happened, but over whether a fellow gets into the same inconvenience again... Has your husband ever come home late again after that incident?"
He sighed, "In any case, it seems Adley is taking his time; might as well take a seat and do some thinking... Mrs. Knox, I don't suppose there are some available loose sheets of paper in the classroom?"

Colin smiled, then frowned, "It is a rather ornery little bastard in its own right.

You can feel your Avatar being rather pleased with this description, though again he do not say anything, it is just a feeling.

"It was not...pleasant."
Isabella muttered her eyes darkening for a moment and her long, thin hands shook for a moment.
"Well there are those who have been far worse of than me, who have been kept that way for decades or centuries, it is a favored punishment among many Princes."
The vampiress muttered and one of her hands vent to her heart and was held there protectively for a moment until she realized what she was doing and put her hands in her dress pockets.
"I...hope you can release that vampire you have in protective custody soon, you do not want to keep him staked longer than is necessary."
She muttered softly.

"Hum...I have heard my Mentor's husband Ir speak about Avatar fragments, it is a scary concept but he say that in theory if there where enough of them at the same place then they could...well his example was when you gather up lots of little pieces of used candles, melt it all and make a new candle of it, all of mis matched colors...it is just a theory though, no one have as far as I know found many such fragments in one space."
Kristina said and gave you a curious look.
"I am afraid I do not have much time for comic books, not between commuting between Chicago and the small town outside of Paris where me and my husband have our home, my duties at the Chantry, my own studies and raising two kids."
She said and offered a small smile.

He scratched his cheek, "I suppose, though, the concern is not only over what might have happened, but over whether a fellow gets into the same inconvenience again... Has your husband ever come home late again after that incident?"

"No he have not, he is not a irresponsible man, but he is kind, the reason why he was late was that he stopped to save a life, but yes you are right, that was part of the concern yes, not to mention I...am used to seeing this man as invulnerable, his skin is like marble to the touch and I have seen him take a whole clip of fairly high caliber bullets to the chest with no more than scratches and complaints about the cost of his shirt, to see that man writhing on the floor...helpless...in pain and with those terrible burns well let us just say it is not something I would want to experience again."
The Verbena muttered and sigh.
"But I digress from the topic at hand please forgive me."
She muttered Isabella looked over at her and gave the mage a uneasy look.
"Let us hope it do not happen again...sunlight is not...fun."
She muttered. Kristina sigh and shook her head.
"No, supernatural weaknesses ehy, nature's own little way to show the finger to the Awakened."

He sighed, "In any case, it seems Adley is taking his time; might as well take a seat and do some thinking... Mrs. Knox, I don't suppose there are some available loose sheets of paper in the classroom?"

"Let me have a look."
Kristina said and went to look in the teacher's desk before she came up with a small pad of lines paper and a pen.
"Will this do Mr Wainwright?"
She asked and handed the paper and pen to you.

Friday:

Tane let them continue, making dinner. Thank you for joining us. he told to Henrietta

Henrietta smiles as she works on the dinner together with you.
"Oh I am quite enjoying it Tane, I do not get out of the Chantry nearly enough."
She said as she begun to set the table.
"This was a good idea, making food together, it is fun."

Saturday:

Ok, I'll leave you now, then. See you on monday. He went inside directly to Cita's place.

"Yeah see you."
Lily said before you hung up on the call. You get back the the Chantry, everything seam to be fairly quiet, you see Ryan pass you by in the hallway on his way to the common room other than that no one is walking around in the corridors. Ryan nods to you as you pass him, you get up to Cita's room and knock on the door, the Virtual Adept Master of the Art soon opens and give you a smile.
"Ah Tane did you get a chance to visit Riverside and have a look at their Deaconess?"
She asked.
"How is the woman doing, did you find out what was wrong?"

Colin nodded, "The plan is an early release as possible - he was quite specific in explaining the necessities for his... mental and physical health for the interim, if that term is even accurate for a vampire..."
He smiled, "That's the theory I had explained to me, yes... It would be interesting if it could be proven, but, well... It's not something I'm qualified to investigate - I don't have any actual understanding of the magical aspects of anything that's alive in any shape or form."
He smiled, "Well, now, Mages don't really have much in the way of supernatural weaknesses, do we? I mean, Paradox is the price we pay for doing flashy stuff; a consequence rather than a weakness... We just have all the usual weaknesses humans have, with access to a few workarounds..."
He fished out his fountain pen with a grin, "I prefer unlined, but it will most certainly suffice. I'd rather use my own pen, though. Now, I should try to use a spare moment to sketch a few things..."
He quickly tried to sketch Lt. Lefebvre, what he'd seen of the Shara, and the St. Victoria's Blade from his memories of the future, now that his mind was somewhat refreshed from the rest at the Node.

((OOC: Dex + Crafts for some more accurate sketches... Jesus, 5,8,9,9,0,0 Shocked ))

"I see, you are thinking these...Nephandi as you call them want to use this Tremere elder as a sacrifice of some sort? Well I have heard of magic requiring such actions..." Tyler said then she sigh. "I will see what I can do to try to get this blood wizard of the hook, I can not promise anything but you do not get to become my age without getting some allies and doing some favors, perhaps I can do something to put an end to the sacrifice plan, slow Abigail down a bit at least if it is an important part of her plot."

"That is my educated guess, at this point, yes. If you find out if there is anysuch thing going to happen and muck up such a plan it could help."

"A mage child then, I would assume Nicolai would want a bride with magical talents...I do not know how common your kind is, or how common child magic users are but you might consider warning your society about this danger."

"Quite," he sighed.

"I agree mage, I agree, the problem is finding this Abigail, if I knew where she was I would be willing to help move against her like I said, but before I know that there is little else I can do than try to counter her political moves in my society and hope my head is not the next on the chopping block." Tyler sounded a bit frustrated."Damn it but I prefer to deal with enemies that are out in the open rather than those that like to play shadow games!"

"It is frustrating," he agreed, "but countering her political moves is useful until we find her. Anything that throws a wrench in their timing or plans could help."

// lol - that dice roll for that sketch! I'm envisioning full blown blueprint schematics now with three-D cross sections xD
Also I don't think it will bea  long wait for Adley once everyone's assembled, he'll only be on the phone a little while, not likely much longer.

Colin:

Colin nodded, "The plan is an early release as possible - he was quite specific in explaining the necessities for his... mental and physical health for the interim, if that term is even accurate for a vampire..."

"Well at least when it comes to mental health it is an accurate term, any malady that can affect a human being can affect us as well, we suffer from trauma, depression, insanity, any mental issue you can have as a human and we have a few extra ones of our own."
Isabella said and gave a bit of a sad smile.
"As for physical health perhaps there the term is less accurate since we are as you know already dead, but we can get injured and we do feel physical pain as keenly as a human being do."
She added then she nodded.
"As for your...guest...yes well treatment and an safe environment can lessen the negative mental effects of staking, making it more tolerable if you will."

He smiled, "That's the theory I had explained to me, yes... It would be interesting if it could be proven, but, well... It's not something I'm qualified to investigate - I don't have any actual understanding of the magical aspects of anything that's alive in any shape or form."

"Hum...well yes if you can even call an Avatar alive, it exist but we do not even know what they are, a spirit perhaps, a higher power, a piece of our own mind? But yes it would be an interesting thing to investigate but while I can interact with the Umbra I do fear I can not be much help there, perhaps Master Ir, my Mentor's husband can assist you."
Kristina said and glanced over at you.

He smiled, "Well, now, Mages don't really have much in the way of supernatural weaknesses, do we? I mean, Paradox is the price we pay for doing flashy stuff; a consequence rather than a weakness... We just have all the usual weaknesses humans have, with access to a few workarounds..."

"Well Paradox is a force that we are sensitive to, it is less of a consequence than a result of a narrowing reality and if you want to go with that logic all of the supernatural weaknesses are a consequence, a vampire do not get burned unless they go out into the sun, a werewolf do not birth a misshapen child unless they mate with another of their kind and we do not get Paradox unless we challenge the laws of reality."
Kristina said softly.
"In addition to that off course we have Resonance that we build for bane or boon, plus well anything that happen to our Avatars is a big problem, we have some weaknesses when it comes to other Awakened...but yes generally unless we suffer from Echoes we do not have a substance that burn our skin or make us sick like many of the other Awakened have, but we have Paradox, and we have Quiet and the chance to go Marauder..."
The Verbena muttered softly.
"None of them pleasant possibilities."

He fished out his fountain pen with a grin, "I prefer unlined, but it will most certainly suffice. I'd rather use my own pen, though. Now, I should try to use a spare moment to sketch a few things..."

"Ah yes off course, I will leave you alone to work Mr Wainwright."
Kristina said and went over to Isabella and sat down next to her to talk softly with the vampiress.

He quickly tried to sketch Lt. Lefebvre, what he'd seen of the Shara, and the St. Victoria's Blade from his memories of the future, now that his mind was somewhat refreshed from the rest at the Node.

You had never been on the Blade so you could only draw the exterior of the ship but you manage to do so well. The Shara though had been your workplace for many years in the future and while some of the details of your future memories where fuzzy, for example you can remember the faces of your future children, but not their favorite food, you can remember faces of friends and coworkers but not their names, you do manage to draw out the ship as if you where divinely inspired. The Shara was a base ship and support for the powerful zeppelins of Horizon, in and of itself it was not a large ship, it would attach the zeppelins around itself so it looked like the center of a flower the the war ships as petals when traveling and when free of the zeppelins themselves it was a small, agile ship that could provide support for the powerful, but fragile warships, in addition to being able to launch several small fighters, you draw up pretty good schematics, perhaps good enough for someone who knew what they where doing to complete and actually construct something from.

You draw a picture of Bergamott, while she was a small woman, short and unassuming, she had a strong presence and authority in her demeanor, you draw up her slightly curled, short red hair, large, pretty eyes that where somewhere between gray and green, and sharp lips that would curl into a frown when she was displeased, the woman was not above taking her share of the jobs that needed doing on the ship nor with having a beer with the crew but there was never any doubt as to who was in charge when there was a crisis going on. You manage to capture her image just about as well as anyone could with a writing pen and a piece of lined paper in a few minutes time while waiting for others to arrive for a meeting.

Adley:

"That is my educated guess, at this point, yes. If you find out if there is anysuch thing going to happen and muck up such a plan it could help."

"I will do what I can to find out and also ask my friend, she is Tremere after all even if her Clan do not recognize her as such and I will see what I can find out."
Tyler agreed.

"Quite," he sighed.

"I will let you know if I hear anything about any kidnapped children."
The vampiress promised.

"It is frustrating," he agreed, "but countering her political moves is useful until we find her. Anything that throws a wrench in their timing or plans could help."

"I hate politics...but at times they can be a useful tool."
Tyler said and sounded frustrated.
"I will do what I can to slow the woman down, you focus on your end on finding her, are you good with that?"
She asked then she added.
"Was there then anything else?"

(OOC: Well that is quite a roll. I will let you store one of those successes for later Warp to two into a roll of your choosing just because Colin feels so inspired and lucky from just how well he managed to do those drawing in so little time with so limited materials that it is likely to affect how he performs other tasks in the near future. You know just to give you a little bonus for rolling five successes in one, unless someone else minds.)

The Mirror Man, Nicolai's Plans and The Grimoire IC Thread 11 - Page 24 Empty Re: The Mirror Man, Nicolai's Plans and The Grimoire IC Thread 11

Post by Warpmind Fri Jun 10, 2016 5:18 am

Colin smiled, "I don't think I'll need to consult with Master Ir - we have Master Telar visiting Steelhaven; she has been informed of my... adjusted condition; I'm sure she'd be delighted to investigate further."
He nodded, "The distinction being that we don't suffer Resonance or Paradox unless we actively do something to provoke it. Vampires' vulnerability to sunlight, or the changing folks' vulnerability to silver, on the other hand, is a concern whether they act or not. Sort of like the difference between breaking your leg while going skiing, and suffering from severe pollen allergies; the former is preventable by not partaking of the relevant activity, the latter is going to be a problem, no matter what you do."
There was a soft glow, of sorts, in Colin's eyes as his pen danced across the pages - one page, two pages, three, four, all covered with excerpts of plans or sketches of the view in various parts of the base ship, one page with a crisp view of St. Victoria's Blade in flight, gleaming, with all weapons ready to fire, and the Lieutenant who so many times had rallied the crew in a pinch. Perhaps he'd have to see if she was around yet, once he visited Horizon...
He quickly annotated the schematics and signed the pages, arching an eyebrow "Good Heavens, I think these just might be part of the original design files for the support craft..."

((OOC: So, visit Horizon, ask to see Madame Hastings, and send her a picture of her ship with the request for an audience. That should at least make her curious enough to allow a small discussion about the future of Horizon's defenses... :3 And that sounds fine to me, though I'd assume there's a reasonably short time limit, and it hardly seems universally applicable.))

Colin smiled, "I don't think I'll need to consult with Master Ir - we have Master Telar visiting Steelhaven; she has been informed of my... adjusted condition; I'm sure she'd be delighted to investigate further."

"Ah Master Telar I know her, she was one one my Mentor hired to get the hardened Paradox out of my Avatar, she did a marvelous job."
Kristina said and nodded.
"She is extremely skilled."

"Well yes our weaknesses follow what we do, it is not innate into our beings this is true, then again Mr Wainwright we are magick, very few mages can give up on what we are and stop using it."
Kristina said.

He quickly annotated the schematics and signed the pages, arching an eyebrow "Good Heavens, I think these just might be part of the original design files for the support craft..."

Kristina glanced over at you from where she was talking with Isabella, she looked confused for a moment then she smiles.
"Ah yes I have heard about your time loop Mr Wainwright, hum interesting."
She said as she rose and walked over to your desk.
"May I see?"
She asked sounding curious.

(OOC: Well that might just get you an audience yes. Yes there is a reasonable time limit on that success, it was just to get something more out of a five successes roll than one drawing so you can use one of them due to more confidence and feeling lucky let us say within a day or so in game.)
