[Cabal meeting]

I know what to get the rest of you for Christmas then, complementary trips to the dentist," he teased.

"Well that would be a costly gift I think."
Bruce joked.

[Chicago]

"Of course, it was not for me. But we are grateful anyway, for so long my avatar has carried Erjne's grief and now Carmon has been laid to rest with more than we could have hoped for, though what came between still saddens us...I am glad that you remember him that way and offered this chance for him."

Crexia nodded at that and she gave you a sad look.
"I did what a commander should for her troops, on the battlefield I expected those two to lay down their lives for the cause if need be, but I also would protect them with everything I have if it comes to that. But yes take the time to grieve, it is only right and it is good that Carmon have someone to grieve his passing."

"This I will do, on Tuesdays...first I'll have to get some wine an honey though...yes, He was magnificent, inspiring."

"I would offer to send a good bottle of wine with you, but one you buy yourself would make for a better sacrifice. Do you know how to mix wine and honey well?"
Crexia said then she nodded.
"That he is, he is the spirit that inspires the hearts of the brave."

He frowned slightly, looking over to where Carmon had been. He was gone, and the pillow and most every bit of dust around him. The memory of it lept up in his mind again and he took a few steps rapidly backward. "That was the first creo ignem I cast...I did not expect to use such on my friend," he said, soberly. Then he moved over away from that part of the room a bit further.

"You gave him mercy, that is a good use of your magick, he was tired and you gave him the end he wanted."
Crexia said in a compassionate tone of voice.
"I would congratulate you on your new skill but that hardly seam appropriate right now."
She said and sigh.
"But you did what you had to Sodalis."

"I would not ask you to trouble yourself so, ma'am. I can sit on the floor, if it does not bother you.

"It do not bother me Sodalis if it do not bother you, for it really would be no trouble."
Crexia replied.

Aside from taking care of my old friend, which was paramount, there was another who needed to be laid to rest. Dylan's daughter...we had discussed briefly getting her a tombstone, and this I would like to do, though I would ask for assistance since I am not familiar with Chicago. Also, I do not know her Name, or even if she had been given one for sure. Certainly I cannot think Dylan got an opportunity but perhaps before...the poor girl was changed horribly, she was given one if only to have it taken away again." He frowned sadly.

"Ah yes the poor girl. Deaconess Rose have petitioned for her to be buried in our Chantry gardens, but you as Dylan's reincarnation should give the girl a name as no real name for her is known, and you should discuss the matter with Deaconess Rose as she was Dylan's Mentor his child's resting place have been left up to her."
The old archmage said.

"Also I would ask how the Mercere fare, I hope they are doing better. There is something I will need to follow up with there regarding the reason their chantry was attacked, also but perhaps I can visit some of them if they are still here.

"They are recovering their Deacon are unfortunately still in a rather poor condition but the rest are recovering, they are still at Morningstar until a new home for them can be found, so I am sure they would see you, I can give you their phone numbers."
Crexia offered.

I would like to see my sodalis Cara as well if she is here.

"That she is Morningstar is her home, feel free to visit with her, do you need directions to her room?"

And my...cabalmate, Colin sends his best regards to you, ma'am.

"Ah well please thank him and give him my regards as well."
Crexia replied with a slight smile.

Lastly, I found a book in our chantry library that you wrote, and it is quite fascinating but has led me to a number of perplexing questions...these last few things we can discuss elsewhere, but the first is private and I am not sure how many should know of that...after that perhaps that glass of brandy is a good idea."

Crexia gave you a bit surprised look.
"Certinly, which book of mine is this about? I have written several through the years."
She asked then she nodded.
"Would you wish to discuss this private matter here then as the room is protected and then we can go and get you than glass of brandy?"
She suggested then she added.
"So what is it you wish to discuss with me?"

(OOC: Bruce comment about drones where for the junkyard thread did I put it in the wrong section?)

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]
Jeremy wrote:"If I saw a mysterious bowl of candy on top of the stairs. I won't lie I'd go up and eat them." the ecstatic said with a grin.
Anja wrote:"See my master plan would work."
Bruce said in an amused tone of voice.
Colin arched an eyebrow, "Not sure if that is brave or foolhardy - you never know what might be in mysterious candy bowls left out on the stairs."

Jeremy wrote:"Hell yeah!" Serge said enthusiastically. "Now your speaking my language. Let's go see a dragon!"
Anja wrote:"Well...whatever works then Serge we will get you running in no time."
Bruce said wryly.
He grinned, "Please, no dragons on Boston streets. I hear the climate is unhealthy for the poor things. If you can limit yourselves to illusions and hallucinations, that would probably be safer for everyone."

Anja wrote:"Perhaps so Colin then again cake is the perfect bribe."
Bruce said and grinned.
Jeremy wrote:"Ah yes. Bribe the mind-reader while thinking about how your going to whip me. That'll work out great for you." Serge said with a smirk.
Anja wrote:"I will bribe her with cake, bribing someone with cake always works kid."
The large man said in a good natured tone of voice.
He nodded sagely, "Bribing with cake is a time-honoured practice, and I just acquired a very good recipe from Deaconess Arden at Morningstar. Besides, Dr. Boudavich would likely not read anyone's mind without prior consent or otherwise very good reason, so offering to whip you into shape might not be interpreted as literally as you think..."

S7trif3 wrote:"Indeed, you're 'Dad jokes' will become legendary, since they are actually amusing. At least to me."
He grinned, "Probably going to get a lot of dirty looks from Anna, Freddie and in time, the children and grandchildren..."

S7trif3 wrote:"I know what to get the rest of you for Christmas then, complementary trips to the dentist," he teased. Then he said to Colin, "Amicus, speaking of presents there is one I want to get for Beatrice, I think I told you before, but it seems I should give it to her before Christmas. Let me know how much it would cost to make a small charm on a silver chain, and I will find some funds for it."
Anja wrote:"Well that would be a costly gift I think."
Bruce joked.
He smiled, "Well, I know a dentist through the Veterans' Affairs; quick, efficient and most affordable. The chap used to be a Navy Seal demolitions specialist; I could give you his office's contact information, if you like."
He then gave a solemn nod, "Generally eight to sixteen dollars, depending on size, embellishments and complexity. Pine cone, perhaps?"

[Abandoned Junkyard]
Anja wrote:The young woman listened to your explanation but she did not really look like she understood it very well.
"They do not understand time? That is really odd."
She commented.
"How do they know when to do things and such and how to they relate to the world if they can not learn and also you said relatively safely? Do that mean spirits can be dangerous?"
She asked as the little dog spirit started dancing around and jumping up and down, wagging his tail in excitement when he noticed you looking at him.
He nodded, "Well, some understand time to an extent - but experiencing time and change is generally reserved for incarnate beings, whether human or animal, or other fleshly creatures. For a spirit, everything happens at once, and I don't think we can understand that perspective well, either - everything happens in the same, eternal Now."
He paused, "Spirits can be dangerous, but that does not mean they are necessarily malicious, even if some are. As an example, I recently met a spirit of a recycling plant who wanted my face as a collateral, because it is quite clearly damaged and broken. I do not believe she actually understood how physically harmful that would be to me, she only saw it as a part of me that would fit under her domain. Obviously, I found another collateral that she accepted, but it was a dangerous moment for me because she did not fully understand mortality."

Anja wrote:Trina nodded at that.
"Yeah you did sort of conquer everything."
They commented with a sigh.
"But yeah those vampires need to be dealt with."
He grinned wryly, "We only conquered about a quarter of the globe, there were still plenty left for others... but yes, the conquest aspect of the British Empire is not precisely the proudest achievement as such."

Anja wrote:You found some rings in the right size.
"I think I have some fairly stiff, steel wire."
Bruce commented.
"Will that do?"
He nodded, "Can you do a quick welding job of it while I ask the big spirit for assistance?"

Anja wrote:"How are you going to get an aerial view Colin? You could climb some of the towers of tires and parts I guess but other than that we would need a drone or something."
The Artificer commented sounding skeptical.
He grinned, "I can see things from a different perspective, you know. In the sense of scrying on places. Such as this place, from a hundred feet straight up. I'll show you in a few minutes."

((OOC: Easy mistake to make. So, this means Adley's really game for a bit of vampire hunting? Wink ))

[Cabal Meeting]

Anja wrote:"See my master plan would work."
Bruce said in an amused tone of voice.
Colin wrote:Colin arched an eyebrow, "Not sure if that is brave or foolhardy - you never know what might be in mysterious candy bowls left out on the stairs."

"On one hand...it could kill me. On the other, I would get candy." Serge said weighing both options carefully. "After an extensive cost-benefit analysis, I have determined that the benefits outweigh the costs."

Anja wrote:"Well...whatever works then Serge we will get you running in no time."
Bruce said wryly.
Colin wrote:He grinned, "Please, no dragons on Boston streets. I hear the climate is unhealthy for the poor things. If you can limit yourselves to illusions and hallucinations, that would probably be safer for everyone."

"Is that permissions for me to illusion up some dragons for you guys? Because I drew a dragon two days ago that I'm sure you guys would all love to see in real life. Ripping the roof off of this room and breathing candy at all of us." Serge said with a smirk.

Anja wrote:"I will bribe her with cake, bribing someone with cake always works kid."
The large man said in a good natured tone of voice.
Colin wrote:He nodded sagely, "Bribing with cake is a time-honoured practice, and I just acquired a very good recipe from Deaconess Arden at Morningstar. Serge gave the two a skeptical look. "There is more than one way to read a mind besides magick. And my mentor happens to specialize in many. I doubt she'd be fond of you guys attempting to bribe her regardless. She's not a fan of being manipulated like that. My personal recommendation? Have a good poker face, ask her politely with no sinister intentions in your heart, and prepare for nightmares when you inevitably fail."

[Going to the Library]

Anja wrote:"I am sure I will and thank you young man, yes off course go and find your friend."
Hildegard said as she continued browsing the shelves. You found kyle behind another set of shelves he was reading a small, green, cloth bound book.

"Yo Kyle." Serge pronounced as he found Kyle. He handed him the book, 'Sigs, Symbols and Correspondences of Western Magick by Vanessa Tripton', that he had found earlier. "Found a teleportation book for you. Will this do?"

Little Moments Between Steptember and November, Meetings and Endings IC Thread 30 - Page 28 Empty Re: Little Moments Between Steptember and November, Meetings and Endings IC Thread 30

Post by Tane Karyak Thu Oct 11, 2018 7:10 am

[Serge, Colin, Adley, Tane] (Cabal Meeting)
but for most widderslainte it is not the fault of their upbringing that they are what they are, they are born as monsters
Is it always like this, or the ones raised by sleepers are like this? Maybe knowing their nature more can be done.

It does not matter how you are coerced, deceived or otherwise sent into the Caul, you have to enter it of your own conscious volition.
Coercion takes away free will,a component of free volition.

That is true enough Mr Karyak, true enough everything is possible, however possible do not make it likely.
In that we do agree. That's why then we need to work as hard as we can to make ways to make that possibility every day more feascible.

There are unicorns on Horizon but I doubt that they are werunicorns, so they tell few stories but they will gladly impale you so I think I will stay clear of them if you don't mind.
They are not intelligent? Or just not frinedly?

if your life is threatened or you are tortured or a loved one is threatened is not considered enough duress to commit such an act
What is considered as enough duress, then?

Gilgulling Fallen is not really about crime and punishment it is about damage control, if you have a horrible illness with no treatment and the CDC can not control it then the military might move in, kill the afflicted and salt the earth, that do not mean they think the sick have any fault in their condition.
I see. Then again, too powerful avatars are sometimes forgiven... can't it be done the other way around? weakening an avatar until it is unimportant so it can be cleansed, and it's widderslaint only half awakens? Like a static sorcerer?

He frowned, "That's probably not going to be easy, even if you can find those shards - they're known to be dangerously attracted to the nearest potential host; Magi have wound up getting essentially shanked in their Avatar like that."
I have already taken a couple out of place and brought them back. I'm looking to something bigger, so it is hard, yes, but not impossible. Also, is the best chance we've got.

There's no guarantee there'll be rodents of any kind on the table, though - even if Strawberry were to be invited along.
What do you want to do with her and what are you plotting?

Yes, that is why a gilgulled avatar presents a danger to others if it shatters into pieces, yes; we heard of one being destroyed in the near umbra making passage there a problem. Plus...well, let us just say that I fully believe that not only are the shards dangerous, but they are splinters that wish to draw themselves back together and see other mages as a way to do that...like a raging sea of sorrow and screams, all of them, coursing though the umbra...
I've already harvested a couple, i can do it again. In any case, i can always sing them again together, if that's what it takes.

I've heard tell of Union Sleepers on board their Umbral ships, set to work on the hull as the ship passed shard clusters... the individuals in question were left in a rather confused, sort-of-Awakened state, while Awakened individuals are likely to be left in quite a bit of pain and in dire need of, well, spiritual surgery... And then there's that one other bizarre case where a Mage simply absorbs any shards they come across and add them to their own like... well, the Borg, actually
I've heard of the abominations... some sort of broken glass avatars. The thing of nightmares. And the one receiving such avatar... madness even beyond the Marauder's...

Him, his father, his wife and their children... He's a good man, if I have the measure of him; the best reason to stay clear of him would probably be a concern for gossip; associating with a known Fallen, even if one with a Traditions membership and a stay of execution due to circumstances is probably going to make you look suspect in the eyes of some people... but from what I've seen of him and his family, there's no reason to fear him, unless you deliberately antagonize him.
How's his avatar so powerful and his mind not corrupted?

[Investigating Avatar Restoration, Cita's apartment]

Filtering out the guidance of the Avatar, well yes that is potentially possible but it will not help for a trial, widderslainte like Beatrice with minds who are not yet corrupted get Gilgulled as well Mr Karyak, it is having a Falen Avatar which is illegal so while such a thing might help and individual, though liit if not destroy their ability to work magick, which might be worse than death, it will do nothing legally.
I see. even though is an interesting idea

What do you mean that your Avatar could bring about a shard?
You need treatment, then? I'd like to help, if you let me. I want you well, Cita.

one politely invited out by Mr. Karyak's song.
Actually, the song won't discomfort them, and is not traumatic or invasive in the sense that it doesn't tamper with the avatar. It's just a channel for it to project itself. It is safe to go out, and so it does.
There would be far less trauma for both the girl and her Avatar.
If i can help, i'd love to.

Gandyja said it is mature enough now to give birth to a shard, a little baby avatar. But it would be traumatic for us both and with all that's something i wouldn't do it in the near future. So, yeah.

Mr Gregario understand that Master Nassa's situation is rare and that there is not a slew of Avatars just waiting to be placed. I see no reason for concern here.
I don't think he would WANT to do anything bad, but i see a hundred things that could go wrong. I just said we need to be alert.
Maybe if the psychopomp thing works they can help master gregario too.

I was not thinking of necessarily taking a scale, but the discomfort of an examination - of being studied, even if not particularly invasively
Sadly i doubt there is much choice. You can always say no, as can she, but both know what it means

[Chicago]

"I will buy it myself," he agreed. "I have never mixed wine and honey."

"Good that is the best the gift should come from you. What you do is lightly warm the wine, but do not bring it to a boil or you will kill the alcohol, just gently heat it over low head until you can stir the honey in and then take the pan of the heat and let it cool down again before you use it as a libation."
Crexia explained.

"No, it was just that I was nervous I was going to do it wrong and now all I can see is that fire, and him.....ah, here I did not use all that tass either," he recalled, shaking his head. "This should go back to the Chief."

"I can give the Tass to the Chief."
Crexia said then she nodded to the rest you where saying.
"I know it must have been difficult."

"Ah, yes of course I should speak with her about this. I just feel as if I am causing her more sorrow...but it should be done that way. Perhaps she will help us find a fitting name. I still don't know if I did the right thing, if she would have preferred if I had asked you to try what you had offered," he admitted, looking downward.

"You never fully know Sodalis, we are not Gods, we are not perfect. All you can say is that you tried and you made the best decision that you could."
Crexia said softly.
"I think though that you are going to have to talk with Deaconess Rose about this, after all Dylan was her student."

"I am sorry to hear that of him," he said, though he wasn't surprised, after what he had gone through. "Thank you, that would be good if you don't think they'd mind."

"It will take time for the Deacon to recover, if he ever will."
Crexia said and sigh before she listed up the phone numbers of the other Mercere from the Post Office.

"Yes please."

"If you go up to the second floor and take the left hallway, then it is the third room to the right."
The archmage instructed.

"Hm, I believe we can discuss the book over a glass, if I have a private thought I can always write it down on the tablet you gave me. It is a book on the Umbra, I brought it with me...and some notes with my questions on it...it's a bit above me I do believe but perhaps it will help to ask you, I thought..." He stood up again, glancing over the room with an ambivalent expression.

"Of course, if you will come with me then."
She said and smiled as she offered a hand to help you back up, the tiny woman looked to weak to support your weight but you had seen there where strength in her small frame.
"Ah the book on the Umbra, off course, let us discuss it over a glass."
She agreed.
"And I can ward my office as well."

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]

He grinned, "Please, no dragons on Boston streets. I hear the climate is unhealthy for the poor things. If you can limit yourselves to illusions and hallucinations, that would probably be safer for everyone."

"It is most unealthy for them, and yet every so often a Bygone make it's way through the Gauntlet."
Bruce replied.

Bruce grinned at that and nodded.

He then gave a solemn nod, "Generally eight to sixteen dollars, depending on size, embellishments and complexity. Pine cone, perhaps?"

"That is really, really cheap for dental work."
The Orphan said sounding impressed.
"Usually I get my teeth fixed by one of the Verbena."

"On one hand...it could kill me. On the other, I would get candy." Serge said weighing both options carefully. "After an extensive cost-benefit analysis, I have determined that the benefits outweigh the costs."

Bruce gave a chuckle at that.

"Is that permissions for me to illusion up some dragons for you guys? Because I drew a dragon two days ago that I'm sure you guys would all love to see in real life. Ripping the roof off of this room and breathing candy at all of us." Serge said with a smirk.

"It depends if you have to do the illusion by affecting my mind then no, if the illusion will be done with shadows and light then sure why not."
Bruce commented.

"Cake will solve the problem."
Bruce declared.
"Everyone want to be manipulated with cake."

Is it always like this, or the ones raised by sleepers are like this? Maybe knowing their nature more can be done.

"As far as I know this is always the case other than with a few individuals such as Bee."
Bruce replied.

Coercion takes away free will,a component of free volition.

"Agreed however that is not how the law see it when what you are coersed into doing is so much worse than what you are being threatened with."
The Orphan said and he shook his head.
"Beside the point is moot it is being Fallen which is illegal it do not matter how you got that way."

In that we do agree. That's why then we need to work as hard as we can to make ways to make that possibility every day more feascible.

"I am not that interested in working on a fools errad, everything is possible but some things are very, very improbable."
The Artificer grunted.

They are not intelligent? Or just not frinedly?

"I guess the latter."
Bruce said.

What is considered as enough duress, then?

"Nothing I would assume is enough duress to justify selling ones Avatar to Oblivion."
Bruce said and he shook his head.

I see. Then again, too powerful avatars are sometimes forgiven... can't it be done the other way around? weakening an avatar until it is unimportant so it can be cleansed, and it's widderslaint only half awakens? Like a static sorcerer?

"You misunderstand Mr Karyak the powerful Avatar Colin mentioned where not spared because it is powerful, it was spared because it had the power to rip the Spirit Masters to shreds and the will to do so, it was simply to dangerous to attack, it was not that it was spared but that the Traditions did not have the power to destroy it."
Bruce said and sigh.

[Investigating Avatar Restoration, Cita's apartment]

I see. even though is an interesting idea

Cita nodded at that.

You need treatment, then? I'd like to help, if you let me. I want you well, Cita.

Cita looked saddened for a moment.
"Yes indeed I do, however I am not willing to this shard is most precious to me."
The spirit healer said softly.

If i can help, i'd love to.

Gandyja said it is mature enough now to give birth to a shard, a little baby avatar. But it would be traumatic for us both and with all that's something i wouldn't do it in the near future. So, yeah.

"Are you sure it meant a shard and not an Avatar Companion like the one Master Nassa have with him for those two are two very different things."
Cita said and she raised an eyebrow.

I don't think he would WANT to do anything bad, but i see a hundred things that could go wrong. I just said we need to be alert.
Maybe if the psychopomp thing works they can help master gregario too.

Cita got a very stern look in her eyes.
"You have already suggested we not ask Mr Greagario's consent before we do this operation on his apprentice, and you still say we need to be alert about him this is not acceptable he is not jealous, he is a good man and I will hear nothing else about this!"
The Spirit Master said sternly.
"We can ask but I do not see how it can help him but I guess asking it will not harm."

Sadly i doubt there is much choice. You can always say no, as can she, but both know what it means

"What do you mean? Miss Wainwright can refuse to give up a scale from her Avatar though not having it to compare the future scale with will mean our only possible chance of saving Miss Clearwater is gone. However she will not have a choice in eventually getting her Avatar examined but she do have a choice in when."
Cita said and she raised an eyebrow.

[Abandoned Junkyard]

He nodded, "Well, some understand time to an extent - but experiencing time and change is generally reserved for incarnate beings, whether human or animal, or other fleshly creatures. For a spirit, everything happens at once, and I don't think we can understand that perspective well, either - everything happens in the same, eternal Now."

"That sounds really odd, and I have heard some New Age folks talk about that stuff."
The young woman declared.

"Well shit!"
The teenager exclaimed and she looked around nervously.
"Do you think any of these guys here would take body parts and such?"
She asked.

He grinned wryly, "We only conquered about a quarter of the globe, there were still plenty left for others... but yes, the conquest aspect of the British Empire is not precisely the proudest achievement as such."

"Oh only one quarter of the globe I guess it is all okey then."
Trina said sarcastically.

He nodded, "Can you do a quick welding job of it while I ask the big spirit for assistance?"

"Yeah sure, not a problem."
Bruce said.
"You want me to fashion them into sort of glasses right?"

He grinned, "I can see things from a different perspective, you know. In the sense of scrying on places. Such as this place, from a hundred feet straight up. I'll show you in a few minutes."

"Yeah that would be useful, really useful."
Bruce agreed.
"Well I should go and weld this then."
He said and nodded at the parts for the glasses.

[Going to the Library]

"Yo Kyle." Serge pronounced as he found Kyle. He handed him the book, 'Sigs, Symbols and Correspondences of Western Magick by Vanessa Tripton', that he had found earlier. "Found a teleportation book for you. Will this do?"

Kyle jumped when you spoke to him he had been lost in his book.
"Yeah...hi."
He said and smiled a little.
"Ah great that is just what I am looking for...hey wait teleportation book?"
He asked sounding confused as he took the book you offered and looked at it, opening it to a few random pages and reading a few passages.
"Yeah this is great."

[RI Roadtrip]

Adley's Post:

'Plus, kinda hard to call it a "profession" when you don't get paid for it.' ending with a little smirk.

Adley's Post:

'Usually, people just do the first.' Nicole replied. '"If you say sorry that it's bad, you're done"... or if you'd like to be even more insulting, do a "sorry you feel that way". It's like the "thoughts and prayers" shit folk pull when something bad happens... something which requires no effort or change whatsover.'

'Folk who are in crap know they are. Constantly saying "I'm sorry" is verbal squits which highlights the fact you're not going to help in any useful way... 'cos if someone was gonna actually help, they never say it.'

[Serge's Adventure]

Serge's Post:

'Shit... you make it sound like the last I watched was "Steamboat Willie" or something.' Nicole muttered, though giving a little smirk.

Serge's Post:

'Ever consider becoming a critic? Makers would love you.' Nicole quipped. 'But seriously... when would I have the time to watch 'em? Not like I have huge gobs of time to do it.'

Serge's Post:

'So... you'd be fine with being a kind of "plasticine" character, simply to be moulded by whoever into whatever shape?' Nicole replied. 'But your personality is what makes you you. Otherwise you're just a puppet waiting to be pulled around.'

Serge's Post:

'Better keep that idea quiet, grasshopper. It's not... popular.'

[Junkyard]

Anja's Post:

Colin's Post:

'Yet... bet they usually arrive in the same car, me and park in the same spot. Folk get lazy when something becomes all routine-like.' Nicole replied. 'Plus, who else would turn up here at night?'

Anja's Post:

Colin's Post:

'Which is just a theory, unproven. There are others. Personally think they're just a species of odd creature from a different dimension which now and then bleeds into ours.'

Colin's Post:

'If you make a call back to base now, get someone to find several sets of glasses, I can bring 'em back with me. Just punch out the lenses and tape those into it instead.'

Anja's Post:

'Not everything... I remember something about our ancestors having a tea party nearby...' Nicole replied, giving a smirk. 'Oh, wait - my ancestors got beaten by the nasty Redcoats.'

Colin's Post:

'Tell that to the most Irish city in the US.' the large woman quipped.

[Junkyard]

'Yet... bet they usually arrive in the same car, me and park in the same spot. Folk get lazy when something becomes all routine-like.' Nicole replied. 'Plus, who else would turn up here at night?'

"Well every so often someone comes here to dump a old refrigerator to avoid having to pay for it at a open and running junkyard and every so often someone comes here looking for spare parts or materials for their hobby projects."
Bruce said.
"It would be good to not put those folks on fire."

'Which is just a theory, unproven. There are others. Personally think they're just a species of odd creature from a different dimension which now and then bleeds into ours.'

"There is other dimensions as well?"
The young blond girl asked her eyes big.

'Not everything... I remember something about our ancestors having a tea party nearby...' Nicole replied, giving a smirk. 'Oh, wait - my ancestors got beaten by the nasty Redcoats.'

"Yes well at least the tea party back then had some good ideas they wanted our nation to have freedom, our tea party today though are a bunch of douches!"
Trina grumbled.

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]
Tane wrote:Is it always like this, or the ones raised by sleepers are like this? Maybe knowing their nature more can be done.
Anja wrote:"As far as I know this is always the case other than with a few individuals such as Bee."
Bruce replied.
Colin frowned, "A few rare exceptions to the rule, but the rule does seem to hold true, regardless of who raises the widderslaintes. Little monsters who would strangle their siblings in their infancy - though I suspect they're likely worse if they're born Awakened, and more so if they're second- or third-reincarnation Fallen..."

Tane wrote:Coercion takes away free will,a component of free volition.
Anja wrote:"Agreed however that is not how the law see it when what you are coersed into doing is so much worse than what you are being threatened with."
The Orphan said and he shook his head.
"Beside the point is moot it is being Fallen which is illegal it do not matter how you got that way."
He shook his head, "Coercion does not take away Free Will. Coercion only influences how unpleasant the perceived consequences of certain choices become - the only way to remove someone's Free Will from the equation would be to literally puppeteer them, and force their body to act against the subject's will. And again, yes, the point is that being Fallen is what is illegal here."

Tane wrote:In that we do agree. That's why then we need to work as hard as we can to make ways to make that possibility every day more feascible.
Anja wrote:"I am not that interested in working on a fools errad, everything is possible but some things are very, very improbable."
The Artificer grunted.
He frowned, "One thing at a time, though - our first priority, or your first priority in this case, is to build a solid case to save Miss Clearwater. That can not be done by piling up hypotheticals decades into the future; you need some tangible proof within weeks."

Tane wrote:They are not intelligent? Or just not frinedly?
Anja wrote:"I guess the latter."
Bruce said.
He nodded, "Probably less 'unfriendly' and more 'fiercely territorial', I suspect."

Tane wrote:What is considered as enough duress, then?
Anja wrote:"Nothing I would assume is enough duress to justify selling ones Avatar to Oblivion."
Bruce said and he shook his head.
He nodded to Bruce, "What he said - there's no legally accepted justification."

Tane wrote:I see. Then again, too powerful avatars are sometimes forgiven... can't it be done the other way around? weakening an avatar until it is unimportant so it can be cleansed, and it's widderslaint only half awakens? Like a static sorcerer?
Anja wrote:"You misunderstand Mr Karyak the powerful Avatar Colin mentioned where not spared because it is powerful, it was spared because it had the power to rip the Spirit Masters to shreds and the will to do so, it was simply to dangerous to attack, it was not that it was spared but that the Traditions did not have the power to destroy it."
Bruce said and sigh.
He shook his head, "He's not forgiven at all - he's scarcely trusted by most. But his Avatar is too dangerous to attack, and that means it will still be as powerful in its next incarnation, so nobody dares risk create a hostile, indestructible widderslainte a few years down the line, rather than an adult, non-hostile Fallen they can keep an eye on..."

Tane wrote:I have already taken a couple out of place and brought them back. I'm looking to something bigger, so it is hard, yes, but not impossible. Also, is the best chance we've got.
He frowned, "Ah, yes, were you the one who tidied up a small minefield that had been left out in the open? Dangerous work, that, but just remember that loose fragments do not work like a whole Avatar."

Tane wrote:What do you want to do with her and what are you plotting?
He shook his head, "I am plotting nothing, except making a banquet in celebration of victory, and in memory of those we lost in battle. Seeing as she is registered as your Custos, as I understand it, it stands to reason that you should be allowed to invite her to the dinner, if you wish. Just make sure she understands that she should not take naps on the table."

Tane wrote:I've already harvested a couple, i can do it again. In any case, i can always sing them again together, if that's what it takes.
He arched an eyebrow, "You can... sing back together a shredded Avatar? I... find that quite hard to believe. For several reasons."

Tane wrote:I've heard of the abominations... some sort of broken glass avatars. The thing of nightmares. And the one receiving such avatar... madness even beyond the Marauder's...
He arched an eyebrow, "Hey, now, I have a shard cluster Avatar, and she's hardly the thing of nightmares, nor am I insane by any definition. I would advise you to take that back."

Tane wrote:How's his avatar so powerful and his mind not corrupted?
He shrugged, "He is the son of an Aswadim, and of royal blood to boot. I can't say why his Avatar is so powerful, but I do not think it is unique in that regard... and not all Fallen are gibbering monsters; he's hardly as pure as the driven snow, but he's dedicated to healing Avatars, and that probably helps."

Jeremy wrote:"On one hand...it could kill me. On the other, I would get candy." Serge said weighing both options carefully. "After an extensive cost-benefit analysis, I have determined that the benefits outweigh the costs."
He grimaced, "Or you could get drugged and abducted for nefarious purposes. That would be worse than death."

Anja wrote:"It is most unealthy for them, and yet every so often a Bygone make it's way through the Gauntlet."
Bruce replied.
He nodded, "And how long do they usually last here when that happens?"

Jeremy wrote:"Is that permissions for me to illusion up some dragons for you guys? Because I drew a dragon two days ago that I'm sure you guys would all love to see in real life. Ripping the roof off of this room and breathing candy at all of us." Serge said with a smirk.
Anja wrote:"It depends if you have to do the illusion by affecting my mind then no, if the illusion will be done with shadows and light then sure why not."
Bruce commented.
He smiled thinly, "Anna mentioned an adorable ribbon trick... I would be up for an illusory dragon."

Jeremy wrote:Serge gave the two a skeptical look.
Anja wrote:"Cake will solve the problem."
Bruce declared.
"Everyone want to be manipulated with cake."
He grinned, "What's sinister about wanting to whip you into better shape, for your long-term health benefits?"

Anja wrote:"That is really, really cheap for dental work."
The Orphan said sounding impressed.
"Usually I get my teeth fixed by one of the Verbena."
He looked up, "What? No, that's what the price for lucky charms on a chain would be. The dentist charges low average fees, still in the triple digits, I'm afraid."

[Abandoned Junkyard]
Nicole wrote:'Yet... bet they usually arrive in the same car, me and park in the same spot. Folk get lazy when something becomes all routine-like.' Nicole replied. 'Plus, who else would turn up here at night?'
He nodded, "True, but they might be bringing Renfields, and they might be just cautious enough to bring backup just out of immediate vicinity."

Anja wrote:"Well every so often someone comes here to dump a old refrigerator to avoid having to pay for it at a open and running junkyard and every so often someone comes here looking for spare parts or materials for their hobby projects."
Bruce said.
"It would be good to not put those folks on fire."
He nodded, "That, too - and it would also be good not to be seen by such Sleepers."

Anja wrote:"That sounds really odd, and I have heard some New Age folks talk about that stuff."
The young woman declared.
He nodded, "It is quite odd. And New Agers are surprisingly often right. Not always, of course, but surprisingly often."

Nicole wrote:'Which is just a theory, unproven. There are others. Personally think they're just a species of odd creature from a different dimension which now and then bleeds into ours.'
He grinned, "Potayto, potahto. Arthur C. Clarke would have loved you, you know."

Anja wrote:"There is other dimensions as well?"
The young blond girl asked her eyes big.
He nodded, "There are worlds out there you can scarcely imagine - one magnificent world inhabited by Mages, with two artificial suns, dragons, all sorts of wonders... and there are dimensions of pure chaos and change, and the void between worlds... more than most can imagine. And pretty much everything people can think of is out there, somewhere..."

Anja wrote:"Well shit!"
The teenager exclaimed and she looked around nervously.
"Do you think any of these guys here would take body parts and such?"
She asked.
He shook his head, "Probably none of the locals here... though the big one might demand you bring him tributes of abandoned and decayed vehicle-like things, like old baby strollers or shopping carts with wonky wheels. This place... it's a gathering place for the broken, the abandoned and the forgotten more than anything - if asked politely, the spirit might extend their protection over the people who live here for that precise reason..."

Nicole wrote:'If you make a call back to base now, get someone to find several sets of glasses, I can bring 'em back with me. Just punch out the lenses and tape those into it instead.'
He pondered for a moment, "That's probably going to be a little too tight, time-wise. I don't know if... hum... Actually, I'll give Master Sharaya a call; he might be able to send me some frames quickly."

Nicole wrote:'Not everything... I remember something about our ancestors having a tea party nearby...' Nicole replied, giving a smirk. 'Oh, wait - my ancestors got beaten by the nasty Redcoats.'
Anja wrote:"Yes well at least the tea party back then had some good ideas they wanted our nation to have freedom, our tea party today though are a bunch of douches!"
Trina grumbled.
He grinned, "Ah, yes, that day when Americans famously decided to stop reading the instructions and do everything their own way regardless of consequences. 'Pour boiling water over leaves, and let steep for three to five minutes.' It's hardly rocket science, and yet you lot still can't brew a proper cup of tea if your lives and liberties depended on it."

Anja wrote:"Oh only one quarter of the globe I guess it is all okey then."
Trina said sarcastically.
Nicole wrote:'Tell that to the most Irish city in the US.' the large woman quipped.
He shrugged, "We once had the largest empire in the world. But we're an ancient country, and we've seen empires rise and fall, and when the time came for the British Empire to end... we kept calm and carried on. America is a young nation, and has yet to learn that lesson..."

Anja wrote:"Yeah sure, not a problem."
Bruce said.
"You want me to fashion them into sort of glasses right?"
He nodded, "Just so the wearer can look through the rings, or at least a single ring... and with luck, we'll get some proper frames, as well, to supplement the lot."

Anja wrote:"Yeah that would be useful, really useful."
Bruce agreed.
"Well I should go and weld this then."
He said and nodded at the parts for the glasses.
He nodded, "Right, I'll call Master Sharaya, and then consult with the Genius Loci."

He quickly fished out his phone and called Narim, waiting patiently for a reply.

[Investigating Avatar Restoration, Cita's apartment]
Tane wrote:You need treatment, then? I'd like to help, if you let me. I want you well, Cita.
Anja wrote:Cita looked saddened for a moment.
"Yes indeed I do, however I am not willing to this shard is most precious to me."
The spirit healer said softly.
He glanced from Tane to Cita, pondering silently.

Tane wrote:Actually, the song won't discomfort them, and is not traumatic or invasive in the sense that it doesn't tamper with the avatar. It's just a channel for it to project itself. It is safe to go out, and so it does.
He nodded, "The question I have is whether singing them out like that will be comforting enough to soothe the usual... indignity of examination."

Tane wrote:If i can help, i'd love to.

Gandyja said it is mature enough now to give birth to a shard, a little baby avatar. But it would be traumatic for us both and with all that's something i wouldn't do it in the near future. So, yeah.
Anja wrote:"Are you sure it meant a shard and not an Avatar Companion like the one Master Nassa have with him for those two are two very different things."
Cita said and she raised an eyebrow.
He arched an eyebrow, "Indeed, that does sound a lot like your Avatar is ready to birth a companion, not splinter off a fragment."

Tane wrote:I don't think he would WANT to do anything bad, but i see a hundred things that could go wrong. I just said we need to be alert.
Maybe if the psychopomp thing works they can help master gregario too.
Anja wrote:Cita got a very stern look in her eyes.
He pondered, "If we can call a Psychopomp, I still doubt it would help Mr. Gregario, as such - with Miss Florentine, we have a compatible Avatar available, waiting to join with her. We don't have another, er, spare, as such."

Tane wrote:Sadly i doubt there is much choice. You can always say no, as can she, but both know what it means
Anja wrote:"What do you mean? Miss Wainwright can refuse to give up a scale from her Avatar though not having it to compare the future scale with will mean our only possible chance of saving Miss Clearwater is gone. However she will not have a choice in eventually getting her Avatar examined but she do have a choice in when."
Cita said and she raised an eyebrow.
He arched an eyebrow, "Anna's Avatar will be examined, certainly, but there's a big difference between having her Avatar looked at, and having a piece of it cut out. Why, it's about the same difference as between taking your fingerprint, and cutting off the last joint of the finger. And... even if she refuses to have a scale extricated, that's not necessarily our only chance of saving Miss Clearwater, though it will make our work a lot harder."

[Cabal Meeting, 10 AM, Wednesday September 30th]

He nodded, "Probably less 'unfriendly' and more 'fiercely territorial', I suspect."

"At the gates out of Horizon there are warnings that if you encounter the black unicorns leave them alone as they are aggressive and dangerous, and that is really all I know about it."
Bruce said and grunted.

"Essentially keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
Bruce said.
"And the way I understand it Master Ir want to be with the Traditions and ae working with us and that is better than a hostile widderslainte."

He arched an eyebrow, "Hey, now, I have a shard cluster Avatar, and she's hardly the thing of nightmares, nor am I insane by any definition. I would advise you to take that back."

Mia gave a sharp sound of displeasure at Tane's commenting she where an abomination, the lady was not amused.

He nodded, "And how long do they usually last here when that happens?"

"Not long or so I hear most Bygones die after a short time in our reality from Paradox."
Bruce said and he frowned.

He grinned, "What's sinister about wanting to whip you into better shape, for your long-term health benefits?"

"See she would be all for it."
Bruce commented with a grin.

He looked up, "What? No, that's what the price for lucky charms on a chain would be. The dentist charges low average fees, still in the triple digits, I'm afraid."

"That makes more sense."
Bruce said and nodded.

[Investigating Avatar Restoration, Cita's apartment]

He nodded, "The question I have is whether singing them out like that will be comforting enough to soothe the usual... indignity of examination."

"No that do not seam to be the case."
Cita said and she shook her head.

"Well yes it will make something almost impossible a little bit harder but I do not think we should put to much pressure on the young girl, telling her the scale would help at her own trial and the trial of another will do, it should be her choice entirely and she will only be asked such a question after Dr Lee have said it is safe for her to do so."
Cita said and frowned.

[Abandoned Junkyard]

He nodded, "That, too - and it would also be good not to be seen by such Sleepers."

Bruce nodded at that and grunted.

He nodded, "It is quite odd. And New Agers are surprisingly often right. Not always, of course, but surprisingly often."

"Perhaps I should pay more attention to them."
The young girl muttered.
"I have a crystal actually, a rose quarts necklace, I am saving it to pawn it on a rainy day."

"That is insane!"
The young, blond girl muttered.
"Have you been to any of these dimensions? Being a mage must be really cool."

"That is pretty cool, you think the spirits here would protect us? How can I ask them? And I can bring junk to the big spirit, that is fine."
The girl said.
"How do I get their attention?"

Trina just looked rather confused at you not really understanding what you where saying.

He shrugged, "We once had the largest empire in the world. But we're an ancient country, and we've seen empires rise and fall, and when the time came for the British Empire to end... we kept calm and carried on. America is a young nation, and has yet to learn that lesson..."

"Well just try not to piss on everyone else's culture then you can be as ancient as you wish."
Trina said darkly.

He nodded, "Just so the wearer can look through the rings, or at least a single ring... and with luck, we'll get some proper frames, as well, to supplement the lot."

"Yeah sure I am on it."
Bruce said and nodded.
"I can do that."

He nodded, "Right, I'll call Master Sharaya, and then consult with the Genius Loci."

He quickly fished out his phone and called Narim, waiting patiently for a reply.

Bruce wandered of to start welding. Narim quickly replied you head the sounds of a pot being boiled in the distance.
"Yeah it is me what can I do for you Mr Wainwright?"

Anja's Post:

'If the vamps arrive in the same car, at roughly the same time and park in the same location, it's fairly safe to assume that if that car arrives at that time and parks in that place, it's them.' Nicole replied a shade irritably, feeling that the others were deliberately being dense and assuming she was advocating the firebombing of any car.

Colin's Post:

'Renfields?'

Colin's Post:

'Just calling you out on the fact you were stating a theory as a proven fact.' the large woman replied, stubbornly.

Colin's Post:

'Well, they saw the picture on the box and decided, "y'know, screw that".'

Anja's Post:

'Be nice. Britain's days of pissing on anybody are long gone.' Nicole replied, giving a little smirk to Trina.

"I'll bring this under consideration." Serge said, pretending to think about it for a few moments. Then jokingly said,  "Naw, I'm still going for it. The riskier the proposition the sweeter the candy."

Anja wrote:"It depends if you have to do the illusion by affecting my mind then no, if the illusion will be done with shadows and light then sure why not."

Anja wrote:Kyle jumped when you spoke to him he had been lost in his book.
"Yeah...hi."
He said and smiled a little.
"Ah great that is just what I am looking for...hey wait teleportation book?"
He asked sounding confused as he took the book you offered and looked at it, opening it to a few random pages and reading a few passages.
"Yeah this is great."

"Correspondence, Teleportation, the illusion of space, the divine connections between all people to the pulse of the world. Whatever you want to call it." Serge said with a shrug. "You seem to be real interested in that book over there. Learn anything new?"

[Serge's Adventure]

Nicole wrote:'Shit... you make it sound like the last I watched was "Steamboat Willie" or something.' Nicole muttered, though giving a little smirk.

"I seem to make everyone feel old. Probably cause I act like I'm so young." Serge said with a shrug.

Nicole wrote:'Ever consider becoming a critic? Makers would love you.' Nicole quipped. 'But seriously... when would I have the time to watch 'em? Not like I have huge gobs of time to do it.'

"Maker's would love me. I would get that sweet sweet sell-out money." Serge commented rubbing his fingers together in a greedy businessmen-like fashion.

"And there's gotta be some point you can watch them. You can't be busy all the time. Some break time at work or while your driving somewhere?"

Nicole wrote:'So... you'd be fine with being a kind of "plasticine" character, simply to be moulded by whoever into whatever shape?' Nicole replied. 'But your personality is what makes you you. Otherwise you're just a puppet waiting to be pulled around.'

"No, it's the other way around. You make your personality. Your the playdough but your also the guy who's molding it into whatever shape you want." Serge argued back. "One could also argue that people's personalities are inevitably molded by everything around them as they grow up. The whole 'Nature vs Nurture' debate."

Nicole wrote:'Better keep that idea quiet, grasshopper. It's not... popular.'

"Yeah yeah. Mirrorshades are always listening aren't they. Tiny secret cameras and microphones everywhere. Bet that's one right there." Serge said pointing at a random trash can the duo walked past and playfully waving at it.

[Serge's Adventure]

Serge's Post:

'Will point out my eyes are too busy to watch TV while driving. It ruins my ability to see things not to crash into.'

Serge's Post:

'Eh, true enough.' Nicole said with a shrug, clearly losing interest in that topic.

Serge's Post:

'Was actually more thinking about our side. Some really don't like the idea of the power to do amazing things being widespread.'

[Adley and Nicole go to Beefbarn]

'Plus, kinda hard to call it a "profession" when you don't get paid for it.' ending with a little smirk.

"True."

'Usually, people just do the first.' Nicole replied. '"If you say sorry that it's bad, you're done"... or if you'd like to be even more insulting, do a "sorry you feel that way". It's like the "thoughts and prayers" shit folk pull when something bad happens... something which requires no effort or change whatsover. Folk who are in crap know they are. Constantly saying "I'm sorry" is verbal squits which highlights the fact you're not going to help in any useful way... 'cos if someone was gonna actually help, they never say it.'

He sighed. "Or, perhaps I actually meant it, because you are a person and I don't like suffering. Would you rather I had said nothing to acknowledge what you told me?"

[cabal meeting]

Coercion takes away free will,a component of free volition.

"Coercion is manipulation, yes but there apparently is left enough 'choice' or desire remaining to still cause one to Fall. Though as we've seen, this may occasionally have some ramification in future lives, under certain circumstances. This is what we are trying to find out."

I have already taken a couple out of place and brought them back. I'm looking to something bigger, so it is hard, yes, but not impossible. Also, is the best chance we've got.
He frowned, "Ah, yes, were you the one who tidied up a small minefield that had been left out in the open? Dangerous work, that, but just remember that loose fragments do not work like a whole Avatar."

"Pardon, but did you say you have some avatar shards? Where are they?"

I've already harvested a couple, i can do it again. In any case, i can always sing them again together, if that's what it takes.
He arched an eyebrow, "You can... sing back together a shredded Avatar? I... find that quite hard to believe. For several reasons."

"Harvesting sounds...wrong. Though helping them is not a bad thing, I do warn you that even if it were possible for you to sing a Fallen avatar back together, it would still be Fallen and possibly quite traumatized on top of it. Your abilities are quite amazing and I would like to know more of this but I warn you that it is not an easy thing to knit an avatar together, and in fact find all of its shards...and if there are more than one..."

I've heard of the abominations... some sort of broken glass avatars. The thing of nightmares. And the one receiving such avatar... madness even beyond the Marauder's..
He arched an eyebrow, "Hey, now, I have a shard cluster Avatar, and she's hardly the thing of nightmares, nor am I insane by any definition. I would advise you to take that back."

"What have you heard, Mr Karyak?" he asked, then glanced over at Colin.

How's his avatar so powerful and his mind not corrupted?
He shrugged, "He is the son of an Aswadim, and of royal blood to boot. I can't say why his Avatar is so powerful, but I do not think it is unique in that regard... and not all Fallen are gibbering monsters; he's hardly as pure as the driven snow, but he's dedicated to healing Avatars, and that probably helps."

"Good question, but not one we'll be able to ask him directly I'd imagine."

He grinned, "Please, no dragons on Boston streets. I hear the climate is unhealthy for the poor things. If you can limit yourselves to illusions and hallucinations, that would probably be safer for everyone."
He smiled thinly, "Anna mentioned an adorable ribbon trick... I would be up for an illusory dragon."
"See, he's fun." Serge said looking at Bruce while gesturing to Colin. "Wish Anna came earlier. Than she could've seen the tea part with the talking animals."

He raised an eyebrow at him. "Is this a polite dragon that will return the roof to its former state?"

He grinned, "Probably going to get a lot of dirty looks from Anna, Freddie and in time, the children and grandchildren..."

He smiled at that. 'Unless they to have as fine a sense of humor as I do."

He smiled, "Well, I know a dentist through the Veterans' Affairs; quick, efficient and most affordable. The chap used to be a Navy Seal demolitions specialist; I could give you his office's contact information, if you like."

"Good to know."

He then gave a solemn nod, "Generally eight to sixteen dollars, depending on size, embellishments and complexity. Pine cone, perhaps?"

"Ah, I thought I told you already. But yes, something not too large."

[Chicago]

"Good that is the best the gift should come from you. What you do is lightly warm the wine, but do not bring it to a boil or you will kill the alcohol, just gently heat it over low head until you can stir the honey in and then take the pan of the heat and let it cool down again before you use it as a libation."
Crexia explained.

He nodded. "White wine or red?"

"I can give the Tass to the Chief."
Crexia said then she nodded to the rest you where saying.
"I know it must have been difficult."

"Thank you, though I need to stop in to see him a moment, myself," he said, and then offered her the remaining tass. "Just in case, I do not wish to forget it in my pocket."

"You never fully know Sodalis, we are not Gods, we are not perfect. All you can say is that you tried and you made the best decision that you could."
Crexia said softly.
"I think though that you are going to have to talk with Deaconess Rose about this, after all Dylan was her student."

He nodded. "I think you're right. Maybe part of me wanted to avoid having to do that. I don't know why exactly."

"It will take time for the Deacon to recover, if he ever will."
Crexia said and sigh before she listed up the phone numbers of the other Mercere from the Post Office.

"Hang on, ma'am, perhaps it might be less intrusive if I contacted one of them, I spoke most with...ah, his name was Jerome, I do not recall his last name. Then he can offer them my number or pass my regards on, should they wish to speak to me. I don't want to overwhelm them."

"If you go up to the second floor and take the left hallway, then it is the third room to the right."
The archmage instructed.

"Thank you."

He took her hand and stood up. "Thank you. I am not sure how much good a ward will do though, although you are quite powerful so perhaps that will make a difference. So far, only using entropy magick to make the words not able to be understood has provided good cover. But I can write..." He was ready to follow her, but at the last moment he turned back to glance into the room again before they left.

// he's hopped up on Quint and meeting a High Umbrood with a pain negation spell on now, but in about half an hour he's going to crash I'd bet.

[Junkyard]

'If the vamps arrive in the same car, at roughly the same time and park in the same location, it's fairly safe to assume that if that car arrives at that time and parks in that place, it's them.' Nicole replied a shade irritably, feeling that the others were deliberately being dense and assuming she was advocating the firebombing of any car.

"Well they do not come to one time, they can come at any time during the night, they park in the same place but so do everyone else, however they tend to have the same few cars they arrive in though."
Trina commented.

'Be nice. Britain's days of pissing on anybody are long gone.' Nicole replied, giving a little smirk to Trina.

The teenager grinned at that.

[Cabal Meeting]

"See, he's fun. It's just illusions. Nothing else." Serge said looking at Bruce while gesturing to Colin. "Wish Anna came earlier. Than she could've seen the tea part with the talking animals."

"I on't really care what it is Serge, if it involves affecting my mind then I do not desire to participate."
Bruce said sternly with a grunt.

"Go ahead and try. Your funeral." Serge said with a smirk.

Bruce grinned at that.

"Coercion is manipulation, yes but there apparently is left enough 'choice' or desire remaining to still cause one to Fall. Though as we've seen, this may occasionally have some ramification in future lives, under certain circumstances. This is what we are trying to find out."

"That I do not know much about Adley."
Bruce said simply.

[Chicago]

He nodded. "White wine or red?"

"That do not matter much, I use red wine."
Crexia replied.

"Thank you, though I need to stop in to see him a moment, myself," he said, and then offered her the remaining tass. "Just in case, I do not wish to forget it in my pocket."

"I am sure you would return it when you remembered, but I can return it to him if you wish."
Crexia said as she took the offered Tass.

He nodded. "I think you're right. Maybe part of me wanted to avoid having to do that. I don't know why exactly."

"I can talk with the Deaconess for you Sodalis but if you want to take part in the decision and preparation for the child's burial you are going to have to talk with her as she is the one in charge of that grim task."
The archmage said firmly.

"Hang on, ma'am, perhaps it might be less intrusive if I contacted one of them, I spoke most with...ah, his name was Jerome, I do not recall his last name. Then he can offer them my number or pass my regards on, should they wish to speak to me. I don't want to overwhelm them."

"Jerome live at Morningstar, he was never a part of the group from the Post Office, but I can give you his number as will if you wish."
Crexia informed you.

Crexia pulled you up to your feet and she nodded.
"I can add some fate and chaos to the Ward your you can write."
She said as she begun to lead the way out of the room though when you stopped she stopped as well and gave you the time you needed, then when you where ready she lead up up the Chantry and into her large office which was full of fine, old furniture an shelves of books.
"Please have a seat Sodalis."
She said as she went to a small cabinet to find the drinks.

[Going to the Library]

"Correspondence, Teleportation, the illusion of space, the divine connections between all people to the pulse of the world. Whatever you want to call it." Serge said with a shrug. "You seem to be real interested in that book over there. Learn anything new?"

Serge gave you a confused look for a moment then he shook his head.
"No...not connections between places and teleportation, the magickal connections between things. When making a ritual you will add correspondences to link it stronger with what you are trying to do. Let us say I wanted to call on a particular spirit, it might be associated with a given planet, so then having the symbol of that planet and a bowl of the metal of the planet and the crystal associated with the planet and offering flowers associated with said spirit will make the ritual easier, that are magickal correspondences."
Kyle explained.
"Yeah it is a book about making Primal Flames."
He said and he handed the book over to you to have a look at.

If you can think of anything else needed, well you've got my cell. Bruce said simply.
Colin frowned, "The problem with that, of course, is that tracking an Avatar's incarnations is tricky at best... unless you have very compelling evidence as to who the previous incarnations were, and even then, it can be hard to discern why they let themselves Fall in the first place..."

Anja wrote:"Essentially keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
Bruce said.
"And the way I understand it Master Ir want to be with the Traditions and ae working with us and that is better than a hostile widderslainte."
He nodded, "Essentially so. That he later made a family only serves to strengthen his ties to the Traditions."

S7trif3 wrote:"Pardon, but did you say you have some avatar shards? Where are they?"
He arched an eyebrow, "Good question."

He nodded, "I know Master Telar can... reattach Avatar fragments to injured Avatars, but from what I have seen, it is neither painless nor easy. Well, the pain part can be ameliorated with some ephemeral sedatives, fortunately, but the point remains - and I do not know if anyone at all is able to track down all the severed pieces of a flayed Avatar, even if they were there when it happened. Perhaps if a Spirit Master somehow managed to collect the fragments as the ritual took place, but even that sounds too dangerous and unreliable."

Anja wrote:Mia gave a sharp sound of displeasure at Tane's commenting she where an abomination, the lady was not amused.
S7trif3 wrote:"What have you heard, Mr Karyak?" he asked, then glanced over at Colin.
He gave Tane a dirty look, "Indeed, what have you heard?"

S7trif3 wrote:"Good question, but not one we'll be able to ask him directly I'd imagine."
He shrugged, "Actually, we probably could ask him directly - I'm just not sure he could answer."

Anja wrote:"At the gates out of Horizon there are warnings that if you encounter the black unicorns leave them alone as they are aggressive and dangerous, and that is really all I know about it."
Bruce said and grunted.
He nodded, "Sounds very much like fiercely territorial animals. I'd wager Sir David Attenborough would have a field day. Or Steve Irwin, rest his soul..."

Anja wrote:"Not long or so I hear most Bygones die after a short time in our reality from Paradox."
Bruce said and he frowned.
He frowned, "I thought as much..."

Jeremy wrote:"I'll bring this under consideration." Serge said, pretending to think about it for a few moments. Then jokingly said,  "Naw, I'm still going for it. The riskier the proposition the sweeter the candy."
He grinned, "Well, you just might have earned a lateral promotion from 'mascot' to 'damsel', but very well."

Jeremy wrote:"See, he's fun. It's just illusions. Nothing else." Serge said looking at Bruce while gesturing to Colin. "Wish Anna came earlier. Than she could've seen the tea part with the talking animals."

He nodded to Bruce, "A respectable stance."
He arched an eyebrow at Serge, "Tea party, was it? Why do I have a sinking suspicion my name came up during that?"

Anja wrote:"See she would be all for it."
Bruce commented with a grin.
Jeremy wrote:"Go ahead and try. Your funeral." Serge said with a smirk.
Anja wrote:Bruce grinned at that.
He grinned, "Well, now, a funeral sounds a bit extreme. After all, that would hardly be a learning experience, would it?"

S7trif3 wrote:He smiled at that. 'Unless they to have as fine a sense of humor as I do."
He grinned, "I may trust my luck far, but there are limits..."

S7trif3 wrote:"Good to know."
He smiled wryly, "You know, most people would at least pause at the mention of him being a demolitions specialist..."

Anja wrote:"That makes more sense."
Bruce said and nodded.
S7trif3 wrote:"Ah, I thought I told you already. But yes, something not too large."
He nodded, "I'll see what I can hammer out... No rush, I presume?"

[Abandoned Junkyard]
Anja wrote:"Perhaps I should pay more attention to them."
The young girl muttered.
"I have a crystal actually, a rose quarts necklace, I am saving it to pawn it on a rainy day."
He nodded, then pondered, "You know, rose quartz is not particularly valuable, to my knowledge - but if you like, I can probably offer a better price than a pawn shop would. That is, if you trust a Mage with a sympathetic link to yourself..."

Anja wrote:"That is insane!"
The young, blond girl muttered.
"Have you been to any of these dimensions? Being a mage must be really cool."
He smiled thinly, "In this life? Only about as far as what would be most accurately described as the shadow of the city. Things look... different there, but recognizable. It's a strange dimension where you travel by association rather than fixed landmarks."

Anja wrote:"That is pretty cool, you think the spirits here would protect us? How can I ask them? And I can bring junk to the big spirit, that is fine."
The girl said.
"How do I get their attention?"
He shrugged, "It does help if you can sense them - as I said, if you can't see them, they can often not see you, either... but a prayer could work. I'll ask it how, hm, supplicants would address it, so it could respond to them."

Nicole wrote:'If the vamps arrive in the same car, at roughly the same time and park in the same location, it's fairly safe to assume that if that car arrives at that time and parks in that place, it's them.' He nodded, "That settles that, then - we'll have to be on the lookout for potentially multiple cars."

Nicole wrote:'Renfields?'
He smiled thinly, "Not familiar with the classics, are we? Renfield was Dracula's enthralled henchman in the Bram Stoker novel... I think they're called most commonly called 'ghouls', though. Humans, enhanced by vampire blood; quite dangerous as they are often faster, stronger and more durable than normal humans, and largely indistinguishable from the general populace."

Nicole wrote:'Just calling you out on the fact you were stating a theory as a proven fact.' the large woman replied, stubbornly.
He grinned, "Very well, I used the older description, which still prevails as a working model. I guess I just prefer the poetic language of it to the more sterile scientific terminology."

Anja wrote:Trina just looked rather confused at you not really understanding what you where saying.
Nicole wrote:'Well, they saw the picture on the box and decided, "y'know, screw that".'
He grinned, "The Boston Tea Party famously dumped a whole shipload of tea into the harbour. Not the proper way to make tea, and Americans still haven't figured out the proper serving instructions, it seems."

Anja wrote:"Well just try not to piss on everyone else's culture then you can be as ancient as you wish."
Trina said darkly.
Nicole wrote:'Be nice. Britain's days of pissing on anybody are long gone.' Nicole replied, giving a little smirk to Trina.
Anja wrote:The teenager grinned at that.
He nodded sadly, "This is true. Well, mostly true. We still provide the odd gentle ribbing of the French and Germans, but by now, that's more like old drinking buddies joking around in the pub..."

Nicole wrote:'Look... you two can decide the little details-' looking at Bruce and Colin '-but gotta get my gear and the reinforcements. I'll bring along a few bottles of oil and shit back with me. If you can think of anything else needed, well you've got my cell. I can give at least a part-ride to the nearest outdoors store or whatever for the flare-guns as long as it ain't too far out of my way.' addressing the last sentence to the homeless trio.
He nodded, "Actually, one thing - if you can spare a handgun? You've still got mine, and I haven't had the time to procure a backup yet."

Anja wrote:"Yeah sure I am on it."
Bruce said and nodded.
"I can do that."
He nodded, "I'll be over in a few and work on the quick and dirty enchantments."

Anja wrote:Bruce wandered of to start welding. Narim quickly replied you head the sounds of a pot being boiled in the distance.
"Yeah it is me what can I do for you Mr Wainwright?"
He smiled thinly, "Ah, I hope I'm not interrupting afternoon tea? In any case, you know the junkyard Mr. King has his forge in? We're about to partake in some pesticide - the Chief will probably come by soon enough, and we'll probably need to isolate the area from police interference and the like... but more practically, do you think you could quickly scrounge up some frames for glasses and send them over? We need them to ensure everyone present has the necessary combination of night-vision and other useful features against a particular sort of parasite. Also, I'll be getting a few aerial photos of the place, too; I'll send them to your phone so you can print them out for the Chief, if that's alright?"

((OOC: So it did, but I figure the kids merely tagged along over to the forge. Razz ))

[Investigating Avatar Restoration, Cita's apartment]
Anja wrote:"Well yes it will make something almost impossible a little bit harder but I do not think we should put to much pressure on the young girl, telling her the scale would help at her own trial and the trial of another will do, it should be her choice entirely and she will only be asked such a question after Dr Lee have said it is safe for her to do so."
Cita said and frowned.
He nodded, "She's a brave girl, but I won't fault her if offering such evidence at someone else's trial scares her too much... Still, if it's safe, it would spare her the same discomfort later."

[Cabal Meeting]

Colin wrote:He grinned, "Well, you just might have earned a lateral promotion from 'mascot' to 'damsel', but very well."

"I prefer bait but your the boss." the young damsel said with a smirk.

Adley wrote:He raised an eyebrow at him. "Is this a polite dragon that will return the roof to its former state?"

"Kinda hard to fix a roof that was never broken in the first place." Serge said grinning. "But Jane and I created this dragon so he's bound to be polite."

Anja wrote:"I on't really care what it is Serge, if it involves affecting my mind then I do not desire to participate."
Bruce said sternly with a grunt.

"Yeah yeah. Same as everyone else." Serge said with a sigh, dropping the topic.

Colin wrote:He nodded to Bruce, "A respectable stance."
He arched an eyebrow at Serge, "Tea party, was it? Why do I have a sinking suspicion my name came up during that?"

"Strangely enough it did not pop-up. Girls were to busy talking with the animals." Serge said with a smile. "It did pop-up while we were playing pictionary."

Colin wrote:He grinned, "Well, now, a funeral sounds a bit extreme. After all, that would hardly be a learning experience, would it?"

"Anything can be made a learning experience. For examples, your deaths would be a good learning experience as to what happens to people who dare try and use force against me....or any child really. My mentor's not a fan of corporal punishment."

[Going to the Library]

Anja wrote:Kyle gave you a confused look for a moment then he shook his head.

"That...that's what I said." Serge said with an equally confused look on his face. "The connections between people. Sure I didn't say 'things' or 'magickal' as well, but I meant it. We're all connected in the grand scheme of things but forced into thinking that we're apart. By breaking through that illusion, either with strong emotions, relevant symbolism, or through personal attachments, you can connect yourself with anything in reality and work to influence it in your own way."

"I study that type of magick too you know."

Anja wrote:"Yeah it is a book about making Primal Flames."
He said and he handed the book over to you to have a look at.

"Neat-o" Serge said taking the book and glossing over it's contents, not really expecting to find anything he could understand.

[Serge's Adventure]

Nicole wrote:'Will point out my eyes are too busy to watch TV while driving. It ruins my ability to see things not to crash into.'

"Ahhh, but you see, that's what the radio was made for. Listen to your favorite background noise sitcom while you try not to crash." Serge countered.

Nicole wrote:'Eh, true enough.' Nicole said with a shrug, clearly losing interest in that topic.

"Onto the next round of 'Stupid or not stupid'." Serge announced flipping through his sketchbook, landing on a picture and showing it to Nicole. The picture depicted a man pulling a baseball cap over his head trying to conceal his face in a crowd. The problem was that due to his neon clothing and rather large muscles he was quite easy to pick out from the crowd. Although the people in the crowd didn't seem to be too bothered or even acknowledge the man in the slightest.

"The Marvel Baseball Cap! The baseball cap that, when worn, causes people to completely ignore your existence. Also can be called the loner cap."

Nicole wrote:'Was actually more thinking about our side. Some really don't like the idea of the power to do amazing things being widespread.'

"Well that's just silly. Our powers being widespread is only good for us. If more people believed that they could do the extraordinary then we wouldn't have such a tough time doing it it in front of them"
