"Yeah well he was still here and do you really think you will get anything out of the creep?"
Thomas muttered.

"Yes." This time, anyway.

The kid did as he was told, the problem was that he was a bit plump so to be sure he could not get out of the cuffs if given time you had to put them rather tightly around his wrists and bind his hands together so he could not pull one hand out at the time, this was clearly uncomfortable and Thomas winced but he tried to hide it out of stubborn pride. On the young Void Engineer's person you found his phone, wallet containing ten dollars and change, his student card, library card and credit card, a set of keys on a little space ship key chain, a napkin with a phone number on it, half a pack of gum and the shopping list for his interrupted dinner as well as a missing button from his blue jacket.

He took the items and placed them inside his bag for the time being as well as the raygun, taking the magazine...power cell? Fuel thing out.

"Well we fight against the Nephandi as well, it is not like we like them." The kid retorted.

"I am not implying you don't, I am saying that they have contaminated everywhere they could and we need to stay vigilant. For your part, they know you would go to your mentor first."

"Take him to the hobby room and make him as comfortable as possible, if you secured his fingers so he can not try to twist out of the cuffs make sure to secure him in a way so there are no strain put on his hands. I do not want to kid harmed he might not believe it but the plan is to release him once the Nephandi are dealt with."
Jeffry said as he lowered his weapon. Thomas looked at you sullenly.

"Yes, sir," he said then noted the doors. "Crap..." He let Nicole and Thomas argue a bit, he already didn't trust him so there wasn't much use inputting on their commentary. Plus something weird was going on with his voice and he wasn't exactly sure what the extent of it was, after all.

"So ehm...what is going to happen to that old lich?" He asked. "Will he be helped back to wherever he belong and what is it that is wrong with him?"

"His story will need to be checked over first, I assume. Come, let's get out of here..." he said with a tired sigh.

The lich said as he read your note he smiled just a little at your drawing then he looked up when he read that Crexia was here.
"You know Crexia...yes tell Crexia I am here please she always helps me...she can help me home."
He looked a little more hopeful as he begged.
"I want to go home..."

"May I have your name? Or at least, a name that Lady Crexia would recognize. My name is Serge Yager bani Cult of Ectasy." he wrote in Latin.

"May I have your name? Or at least, a name that Lady Crexia would recognize. My name is Serge Yager bani Cult of Ectasy." he wrote in Latin.

"I am William ex Bonisagus."
The lich said after he had read what you had written.
"You are of one of the other Traditions...I always forget we have joined with eight other orders...how odd...You are of the Seers of Chronos?"

[Basement]

"Yes." This time, anyway.

"I have my doubts but I hope that you do get him to talk."
Thomas said with a sigh.

He took the items and placed them inside his bag for the time being as well as the raygun, taking the magazine...power cell? Fuel thing out.

The young Void Engineer kept looking at you with a angry, sullen look in his eyes but he did not say anything.

"I am not implying you don't, I am saying that they have contaminated everywhere they could and we need to stay vigilant. For your part, they know you would go to your mentor first."

"And that guy who just got dragged away are a evidence that I am no more safe here being your fucking prisoner!"
The kid shouted.

"Is something wrong?"
Jeffry asked then he looked around and now seamed to notice things moving when you spoke.
"Paradox?"
He asked sounding concerned.

His story will need to be checked over first, I assume. Come, let's get out of here..." he said with a tired sigh.

"It is not like you are giving me much of a fucking choice."
Thomas said but he went with you.
"Are you going to harm him to? The lich I mean?"
He asked and his eyes narrowed as he looked at you.

'Solution: buy up all pitchforks before the event. Then we'll be safe.'

"A stroke of genius, let us have a bake sale to be able to afford all the pitchforks!"
Chris said with a laugh.
"And now we seam to be back to cake..."

[Basement]

'Then you'll be safe. For they are never done arguing.'

Jeffry gave you a bit of a look but he clearly found that he did not have much he could protest on in the statement. Thomas gave you a little bit of a chuckle.
"Why did not I think about that."
He commented.
"Kept safe by squabbling."

'Don't take it personal, like. Problem is, you might say you'd be good and not, say go snooping and shit but a person who would could to that sneaky thing called lying. "The thing is Lady when someone come along willingly under the pretense they will be a guest and then they are assulted and restrained, it is not the quote on quote guest who have been lying, it is just a shitty thing to do. Secondly I am a Void Engineer we do not take part in the Pogrom so I am not treated better than you would be among us for unless you attacked my Convention you would not find yourself our prisoner. I have never harmed a Traditionalist."
The young Technocrart replied bitterly.

Due to their position in the hall, it was likely he was going to have to wait until it was clear.

[Common Room]

A soft laugh to this. 'Well, gotta go...'

"See you around Ma'am."
Chris said with a wave of his hand.

[Basement]

'Not mentioned in "Superstitionist 101", perhaps?' Nicole replied, eyes narrowing a little in amusement.

"No but we have hauled enough Traditionalist Dimensional Vessels out of hot water to have observed the arguments up close...not that the five Conventions are always buddie buddie either."
Thomas said with a sigh.
"The Iterators where not happy when we leaked the Hit-Mark V design to Hollywood and the Terminator movies was made, that will teach them to try to strong arm us...assholes."
He added with a bit of a chuckle.

'Something to take up with the one who said that stuff. I'm just a grunt.' she replied. 'Is anyone gonna help me with Mr Knives here or am I just gonna drag him into the room?'

"Fair enough."
The Void Engineer replied. with a sigh. Bruce stepped up.
"Ah yes sorry Nicole I missed your question my mind must have been elsewhere."
Bruce grunted.
"I will help out."
The large Orphan said before he bent down to lift the front of the captured Nephandus.

"We shall see."

"You can always threaten him to talk or no more tentacle porn for him."
Thomas muttered and this actually made the captured Fallen laugh through his gag.

"You were not the target."

"I never claimed that I was, however it do show that your Chantry is not exactly secure."
The Void Engineer replied and this made the temperature rise just a little as Jeffry took that as a personal insult, say whatever you want about him personally but to insult the security of his Chantry was a blow, especially when the kid had a point.
"We are going to have to do something about that."
The old Hermetic grumbled.
"Fucking Nephandi."

"Seems like it."

"Be careful with that and we can discuss it in private later mea filius."
The war mage replied but he was clearly not happy to hear this and his brow furrowed in a worried look.

"We don't want to harm you, and if everything checks out we're not harming him either. Obviously we have reason to be a cautious though. And I know you don't believe me or have reason to trust me, or to care for any of my apologies or thanks, either." Due to their position in the hall, it was likely he was going to have to wait until it was clear.

You can get past William's stone hand but you will have to help Thomas past as he can not use his hands. Nicole and Bruce will struggle a little but they to can get past.
"I am glad you are not planning to harm him."
Thomas said with a sigh.
"He do not seam like a bad person just scared and confused."

Jeffry glanced around then he said.
"Mea filius would you kindly as our lich guest if he mind removing his creation here, I assume he was the one who made the stone hand, it is an old Hermetic spell. If you can not get through to him please ask Master Haagen if he can do something, but get young Mr Griffith to the hobby room first and set up a schedule to check his hands to make sure he have blood flow to his fingers. I will be talking with our other guests, as our young friend here said, the Chantry is not secure, I intend to see to that it do not stay that way."
An with that the old Hermetic climbed past the giant stone hand and marched towards the stairs.

'What? Thought that was simply a job of "introducing the idea of new tech" to the Mundies so they can slowly get used to the idea?' giving a confused frown.

"No that was us, the Iterators had tried to strong arm us, trying to force us to take more of a part in the Ascension War and end our unofficial deal with the Sons of Ether that both sides will aid ships lost in the Void, no questions asked. We gave them warnings and when they did not listen we gave Hollywood enough data on HIT-Mark V to make the Terminator movies. That shut the Iterators up for a while."
Thomas replied sounding rather proud of his Convention.

And off we go...' Nicole muttered, picking up the prisoner's feet so they can be carried into the makeshift cell.

"Yeah careful as we move past this fucking hand."
Bruce said as he with difficulty squeezed himself and the prisoner past the hand your ancient looking visitor had made in the middle of the hallway, making the prisoner grunt with pain.
"I guess we need to get Richard or someone to have a look at him, so he do not bleed out."
The Orphan commented.
"Ok to the wash room then?"

You got to the wash room, there was no one there right now though one of the washing machines was running so someone had bee there shortly.
"What if the tape him to one of the dryers, that should be secure enough."
Bruce suggested.

Anja wrote:"That sounds like it really sucks, can liches have new relations though? After they have done the lichdom ritual or do they have to live alone forever?"
Bianca asked.
"Would it have been worth it to you Sir?"
Colin hesitated for a moment, "No... Liches can certainly forge new connections, though I suppose not all of them do. Lady Crexia certainly reinvigorates her mind with people she loves and new skills she learns, though I suspect she may be something of an anomaly in that regard.. And no, there are a great many affairs I must see through to their end, come what may. Lichdom is simlpy not an option for me... however tempting an eternity with my Avatar may sound."

Anja wrote:"She do...ehm good so you talk to her then like another person? What is that like?"
The hedge witch asked.
He grinned, "If you're familiar with the series Downton Abbey, imagine living with the Dowager Countess of Grantham in the house. You can ask for her counsel at any time, and she might give it, but when she decides you're going to get her counsel, unbidden or not, you had best pay attention..."

Anja wrote:"Yeah well Master Haagen is an alchemist after all, what he makes is bound to be a little odd."
Devon said which again made Mia go humph! She did not approve of how he spoke about alchemy.
He arched an eyebrow, "Bold words from someone whose very Tradition's core aesthetic was popularly abandoned as a lost cause in the 1950s. Don't get me wrong, the spaceships of that era do have a certain panache that's missing in modern designs, but I'm afraid you have poor footing when it comes to criticizing anachronisms..."

Anja wrote:"It is very clear from how Miss Adlebloom looks at you that she loves you Mr Wainwright."
Bianca said with a giggle.
"Yeah no problem I am here to help."
She commented as Devon nodded that he was ready to help carry Freddy upstairs.
He grinned and gently led the way up the stairs, "If you would make sure to run intercept for us, then, Miss Rozzo?"

"Sounds like they usually get rather static then Sir."
Bianca said.
"I mean she seams perfectly alive unless yo look very, very closely and see the blue in her skin and notice that she is not breathing."
Then she sigh.
"I am not sure I would want to live forever, I guess I never considered it, I mean before Amadeus found me even the thought of living past thirty was far fetched, perhaps I will think differently when I am older."
The young Verbena muttered.
"Though almost dying today showed me that I very, very much do not want to die."
She added with a shudder. Mia smiled a little at your words but she did not comment.

"I have heard about it but I have never seen a single episode it is not my kind of show."
The Verbena hedge witch replied.
"But I think I get the point. I don't have anything talking to me I can work my craft but nothing talks or anything you know."

He arched an eyebrow, "Bold words from someone whose very Tradition's core aesthetic was popularly abandoned as a lost cause in the 1950s. "Touche I guess Mr Wainwright."
Miles said and he scratched his head.
"But at least the idea of Ether is a bit more modern than alchemy."
He retorted.

He grinned and gently led the way up the stairs, "If you would make sure to run intercept for us, then, Miss Rozzo?"

"Sure thing Mr Wainwright."
Bianca said and she hurried into the Chantry and made sure you had a clear path up to the infirmary. Once up there you noticed that Kallen's young apprentice was awake and scared, she was crying her eyes out while Richard tried to comfort her the best he could.
"Shh kid you are safe here...I know...I know try to get some more rest."
The doctor muttered then when he saw you and Freddy he said.
"Listen kid I need to attend to another patient but I will be right back."
Bianca spoke up.
"I can sit with her for a while Dr Lee."
Richard nodded.
"Thank you Miss Rozzo."
He said then with a sigh he hurried over to you.
"How his Miss Adlebloom doing?"
Richard asked as he indicated one of the beds.
"If you put her here I will examine her and make sure she is comfortable."

Colin nodded, "They're a permanent slice of the time of their deaths - inherently unchanging; any damage will eventually grow back, and they lose the ability to Ascend..."
He smiled thinly, "Besides, true immortality isn't about living forever, it's about making sure that your actions in life are remembered forever. The ancient Egyptians were on to something there..."

"So liches can not be destroyed? That I cool I guess, but not so cool if you ever get tired of life."
Bianca commented.
"Yeah I guess, but did not the Egyptians actually want to live forever as well Mr Wainwright? I have heard they had methods to ensure you got a complete reincarnation for example."

He nodded, "I've not watched much of it, but I've seen enough to get an approximate grasp of the characters. Freddy tried to get me to, er, 'binge' the series with her, but the constant questions of how accurate things are got to be... a little much. My Avatar likes Dame Maggie Smith, though."

"Well I guess that since you are from England Miss Adlebloom thought you could answer how accurate it is."
The hedge witch replied.
"And your Avatar likes things? Like in the physical world things Sir?"
She asked which made Mia chuckle a little.

He shook his head, "Alas, my friend, as Master Haagen can likely explain in greater detail than I, Ether as a concept dates back to at least Plato's time - before the days of Enlightened Science or Alchemy were quite so formally structured..."

"Well yes I guess he could at that...but that something is old do not mean it is good I still prefer chemistry."
Miles commented which made Mia humh again.
"There would be no chemistry if there where no Alchemy."
She commented proudly in your soul.

He frowned at the sight of Kira's distress, as he gently eased Freddy onto the indicated bed, "She's as well as could be expected, but she's on enough pain medication to put her into orbit. That's just fine, though; she'll need to keep the catheter for a few days to properly administer further analgesics, that will be less of a scare for Anna than Freddy trying to be brave and hiding the pain to avoid upsetting her...

Richard nodded as he started checking Freddy's vitals.
"Yes I have gotten information about her medications from Dr Hadermann, I will make sure they are administered and hopefully the catheter will not scare Anna to much if she is warned beforehand before visiting that it is there."
He said as he worked.

Did something upset Kira, or did she jolt awake from a nightmare?"

The Akashic glanced back at the sobbing girl and sigh.
"She jolted awake from a nightmare, it is to be expected after what she have been through, she was tortured after all and Lady Crexia did not exactly go easy on her. Kira's hands are healed but they are still swollen and causing her pain and she will not let me treat her. In addition she is afraid for her Avatar and aware that she will be loosing her Mentor and she was injured, it is allot for one person to take all in one day."
He said with a concerned frown.

"Yeah I guess, but did not the Egyptians actually want to live forever as well Mr Wainwright? I have heard they had methods to ensure you got a complete reincarnation for example."
Colin shrugged, "I don't know about complete reincarnations - I've only met one, er, person who was alive in Ancient Egypt, and he's not the sort I could simply go to for answers - but one of the things the Egyptians believed was that so long as someone knew and spoke your name, you were still alive. Which is why they practiced their form of erasure, when they chiseled a disfavoured person's name off every surface to ensure nobody would remember them."

Anja wrote:"Well I guess that since you are from England Miss Adlebloom thought you could answer how accurate it is."
The hedge witch replied.
"And your Avatar likes things? Like in the physical world things Sir?"
She asked which made Mia chuckle a little.
He smiled thinly, "Well, now, that's a little more complicated. Suffice to say, she revels in memories of a number of physical things - and she has expressed some distinct tastes in entertainment."

Anja wrote:"Well yes I guess he could at that...but that something is old do not mean it is good I still prefer chemistry."
Miles commented which made Mia humh again.
"There would be no chemistry if there where no Alchemy."
She commented proudly in your soul.
He chuckled, "My Avatar just pointed out that without Alchemy, Chemistry would not exist. Besides, Alchemy pursues Perfection, with a capital P, of the self. Turning lead to gold is merely a potentially profitable side effect of that. What can chemistry boast as its higher goal in comparison?"

Anja wrote:Richard nodded as he started checking Freddy's vitals.
"Yes I have gotten information about her medications from Dr Hadermann, I will make sure they are administered and hopefully the catheter will not scare Anna to much if she is warned beforehand before visiting that it is there."
He said as he worked.
He nodded, "Anna told me in the future that she can handle it. She's played enough with the tubing, after all - and so long as there's not a needle around, she should be good. But perhaps we should gloss over that there's been brain surgery..."

Anja wrote:The Akashic glanced back at the sobbing girl and sigh.
He nodded thoughtfully, "Well, then... I can't do anything about her old Mentor's fate, but I might offer her a cheerful glimpse of the future. May I try?"

"You are of one of the other Traditions...I always forget we have joined with eight other orders...how odd...You are of the Seers of Chronos?"

"Yes, though we haven't been called that in some time. It is a pleasure to meet with you Master William. I'll go ask my superiors and see if it is all right for Lady Crexia to come and visit you. Please try and get some rest as best you can." Serge wrote back.

He smiled thinly, "Well, now, that's a little more complicated. Suffice to say, she revels in memories of a number of physical things - and she has expressed some distinct tastes in entertainment."

"I thought Avatars was just some sort of higher spiritual being that offered advice but did not really do much...stuff you know."
The hedge witch asked.
"Like some sort of personal God or something."

"Well who am I to argue with your Avatar Mr Wainwright and I am aware that alchemy where a precursor to chemistry, however Chemistry seek to find answers to what the universe i made of. I would say that is a pretty high goal."
Devon protested.

He nodded, "Anna told me in the future that she can handle it. She's played enough with the tubing, after all - and so long as there's not a needle around, she should be good. But perhaps we should gloss over that there's been brain surgery..."

"I make sure to keep all needles safely tucked way inside the cabinets so she will not see anything when she comes up here. Miss Sinclair and Yu Die I do not have to worry about as they do not come up here under any circumstances. But yes I think seeing Freddy hooked up to an IV should be fine but you should probably warn her first. I agree though we should not talk t loudly about brain surgery, that would only scare her. I mean she do not let anyone but you touch her head...perhaps with the exception of my sister, she is terrified of brain injuries. That is what scared her about the attack that happened while you where out. I am not sure if you heard about that, but a Nephandus managed to sneak in with the group from Golden Rose, and he aimed his gun at Anna's head."
Richard said with a frown.

He nodded thoughtfully, "Well, then... I can't do anything about her old Mentor's fate, but I might offer her a cheerful glimpse of the future. May I try?

"No I believe Kallan will meet his end in the Main Sentencing Hall and I...can not say I am sorry about that,"
Your Cabalmate whispered so Kira would not hear him.
"Sure I am concerned about the girl if you can get her to settle down nothing would be better. I will finish up tending to Freddy in the meantime."

"The Seers of Chronos was some of the first to respond to the call to make the Traditions, they are the descendants of the Cult of Mercury just like the Order of Hermes is."
William said and he sat down on the floor.
"I do not rest."
He replied.
"I will sit here where it is quiet."

Colin grinned, "Considering the amount of time separating us from that period, I'd say you know about as much as I do. Besides, I think people have always sought physical immortality to one extent or another."

"Yeah that might be true Mr Wainwright."
Bianca commented.

He shrugged, "Ask a hundred different Magi, and you'll likely end up with a hundred slightly different answers... Though I will admit that mine is particularly unique."

"Oh indeed I am."
Mia replied before she sipped her tea. The hedge witch nodded.
"Do you think I really have an Avatar inside of me Sir, one that is sleeping? My old Mentor say that I do."
She asked thought fully.
"Do you think that is where my visions come from?"

He nodded, "That is an admirable goal. As higher pursuits go, knowledge is one of the noblest."

"That it is, and I guess the search for perfection is also a noble goal."
Miles admitted.
"Though I do not get the ideals of Alchemy myself, it seams like superstition to me, then again I live in a house full of mages."

He frowned, "So he was with Flavian's retinue... I knew about the intruder in advance, and was able to warn the Chief, though I did not know the specifics... like precise time and place. I'm going to have a few serious words with a few individuals, then..."

"Yes the infiltrator came from the same Chantry as Adeptus Flavian though he no longer look like a member from there, so I suspect the man he looked like when he arrived might be...well you can imagine."
Richard said with a frown.
"Fucking Nephandi...but yes I suspect there are a few you want a few words with."

"Doing the...sooner...you mean here?"
Richard whispered and he glanced over at the sleeping Beatrice and he shuddered.
"No indeed that is not something to discuss here."
He said.
"Very well and not to worry I am just doing my job."

He strolled over to Kira's bed, "Hello again, I hear you're still worried for your future... Would you like to see a bit of it, that'll show you it's looking quite good?"

Kira looked up still sobbing her eyes was full of tears. Bianca was sitting next to her gently stroking her hair.
"I...how can I see anything from the future my magick is bound and even if it was not that is hardly my expertise."
Kira muttered and she held up her wrist that still had the anti magick cuffs on it. You saw her hands where sore and swollen, especially around the joins where the nails had been placed.
"But yeah I am worried about my future...and that of my Mentor..."
She sobbed.
"Ehm...sorry look at the state of me...I had a nightmare."
Kira muttered and she tried to wipe away her tears but regretted it and she whimpered as she moved her fingers and she whimpered.
"Fuck..."
She muttered.

"For someone who is not a member of the Technocracy know better than someone who is what happens within our ranks, well whatever believe what you want."
Thomas replied angrily.

"Well I do not have much sympathy with the guy but I do want to know what he know and it is easier to interrogate him if he is not, well you know dead."

[Steelhaven Basement]

The lich looked up at you and mimicked your motion so he waved at you with his bony hand then he remained motionless where he had sat down and he looked more like a heap of old, dirty rags than a person.

[Steelhaven Common Room]

Jeffry was not still in the basement but you found him upstairs he was talking to Adeptus Flavian and the latter did not look happy.
"You are telling me James Cold is a Nephandus Master Morgan?"
Jeffry shook his head.
"No I am not Sodalis I am saying that someone who looked like Mr Cold is a Nephandus, we will get to the bottom of that however this man did come in with your group."
"Are you accusing me of anything Master Morgan."
"No not at this time, but I would want to request everyone from your Chantry agree to have their Resonance checked."
"Not at this time? What the hell do that mean?"
"You know very well what it means."
"My Chantrymates and I came here to aid an allied Chantry and first we are insulted by some...bitch...and then..."
"Careful Adeptus Miss Bouchard's actions was not acceptable but nor will I tolerate you speaking in such a way about a member of this Chantry, now Steelhaven is grateful for your aid but the fact remains a Fallen came in from Golden Rose, that have to be investigated."
At this time Jeffry noticed you and he glanced in your direction.
"Yes Mr Yager can I help you with anything?"

'So, the Union are perfectly happy for one of the biggest mass media groups in the world to run free, without a single eye watching it or hand "guiding" output?' Nicole retorted, on full sarcasm mode. 'Why, there was me thinking they were like smart. Remind me to tell everyone to fly out to LA and start working their hocus-pocus on directors so we can start churning out TV shows. Seems we've got a massive opening...'
