[Colin] (Chicago Umbral Port at 6 30 in the afternoon.)

Colin smiled, "I've got a nice embroidered bag you made in the future... but for now, that's not on the menu."

Anna gave you a shocked look.
"But you do embroidery with needles I could never...touch...one what if I poked myself with it by accident."
She protested her eyes wide.

He frowned, "Not precisely... but you can't be vaccinated, and your immune system is not as good as it ought to be - which means you will need to rely on what is called herd immunity, which is when everyone around you is vaccinated, blocking diseases from reaching you in the first place... It's not that illnesses that affect the injured parts of you will be hard to heal, but that a lot of the standard treatments will not be available, and you are more likely to get ill if a contagion comes along. We will want to avoid such contagions to begin with - which means vaccinating as many as possible to prevent anyone catching an illness, rather than trying to contain the spread after an illness shows up. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... and for most people, a tiny bit of pain in exchange for not falling ill later is a good trade-off."

"But what if there are others at the Chantry who are afraid of needles, there could be."
Anna protested and she did not seam to really believe that most would be okey with it.
"There are a good chance that there are, especially if there are many young, American magi at your Mentor's Chantry, such phobias are between ten and twenty percent in the American population, however phobias comes in degrees and chances are that even if some might be afraid, it will not be a massivly traumatic experience though your Mentor might end up owing some favors to get most of the Chantry members to agree to it. For most getting a vaccine is not really a problem, I keep up with mine, even if I have a Master of Life in my Cabal for the simple reason that there is a lesser Paradox spirit, one that commonly appear for small backlashes that causes a common illness in the offending mage, however it is a simple spirit and it's illnesses can be faught with common methods, it have come for me twice, and both times being of general good health and vaccinations have saved me from getting sick, and for me getting the vaccination is slightly uncomfortable for a few seconds and that is it, I just heal the sorceness afterwards, that is how it is for most Anna so don't you worry, your Mentor making such a request of his Chantrymates is not likely to distress anyone, and if anyone is really afraid then I am sure some solution will be found, the way I understand it he is not going to go to his Deacon Council and try to make the vaccinations mandatory, no one will be forced to do anything they do not want to do."
Udella said softly and Anna looked away and nodded.
"I understand Master Adimari but I still feel guilty...and what about the girl...the one my Mentor mentioned who have the same fear as me? They can not force her either."
Udella sigh.
"I do not know, however the most relevant illness to get vaccinated against is the flu, since it is the illness you are most likely to get and it would be devestating to you, now your future friend is a child so the nose spray should work for her, for some reason it is not effective on adults but work allmost as good on children as the injection."
Anna nodded.
"Yeah but why can't I just get that one and then no one else needs to get stuck by needles?"
Udella shook her head.
"Well first of all they can not use the nose spray on those with compromised immune sustem as it uses live virus, but if your friend is healthy she should be fine, and there are other illnesses the rest of the Chantry should be protected against, I just said that for one person the most prevelant illness should do, especially if your Mentor manage to talk those around her to get themselves vaccinated as well, then both of you should be safe but off course having one person who are unprotected around you is a risk, but probably your teacher will think it is an acceptable risk."

He nodded, "There might be a record of it somewhere, but perhaps it is best not to ask her..."

"No asking the powerful ferryman spirit that are known to kill those who speak to her might indeed not be wise Mr Wainwright."
Udella said and she raised an eyebrow.

He smiled wryly, giving the crystal a quick check to make sure Anna was not hurt by her activity, "Careful, sweetie... and yes, that was a lot of power. I don't think I'll ever lug around that much power again... and I hope I'll never have to take down another Labyrinth again, either..."

The crystal was fine, she probably would not be fine if she kept at it, right now pain was just a warning from her body to not do that.
"I would love to channel that much power, that would be awsome, to bad it was used to destroy my home but I guess they started it."
Anna said and nodded.
"Do you think I ever get to use that much magick Mentor?"
She asked happily.

He stepped over and pressed the call button, waiting for the elevator to arrive, "Now, it's entirely possible we'll be met by some people who don't particularly like me when we get to Boston... fortunately, I intend to be there ahead of time to provide sniper coverage, just in case - I may not have much direct power yet, but my future self will be a time traveler, as far as I can tell, and if my future self shows up on a rooftop to provide multi-angle cover fire with a good rifle, that's hardly something my present self can be prosecuted for, is it?"

Anna just nodded at that.
"Do you want me to fight if there is trouble Mentor? I am not that good in a physical fight but I am good at stopping the magick of other mages and I have fired a gun before, but I do not really like doing that for it makes allot of noise and the recoil sort of hurt my hands, but I can do so if you want me to."
She said with stunning calm, she was using to fighting and did not seam to be alarmed. Udella gave you a bit of a look at Anna's reaction but she just nodded and said.
"No one can hold it against you to protect yourself Mr Wainwright but if it is the Senior Quesitor trying to arrest you let me handle it and do not fight back as that can be held against you."
The Enforcer warned.

The elevator door opened with a small ding sound as you where talking with Anna.

Anna gave you a shocked look.
"But you do embroidery with needles I could never...touch...one what if I poked myself with it by accident."
She protested her eyes wide.
Colin smiled, "The very existence of the bag proves you can get your fear under control, given time... and you yourself suggested to me, in the future, that you could be given an embroidery kit with a big plastic needle; not the sort of thing that you could pierce skin with except by using ridiculous amounts of force. But, such a kit is still a ways off; perhaps next Christmas if you wish for it by then, otherwise later."

He nodded, "Master Adimari is right - I neither will nor can force vaccinations on anyone, but i can certainly argue the benefits of it to the vast majority of our members; barring phobia or allergy, there is little justification for not getting a tried and true safe vaccine, and it will protect from disease, rather than remove disease after it has taken root. As for the girl who is waiting to meet you - she is not a member of my Chantry, so even if she was not afraid of needles like you are, I could not request my Chantry to vaccinate her in the first place. Her Mentor is another matter, but even so, that would be me petitioning him in person, rather than the Chantry as a whole."

"No asking the powerful ferryman spirit that are known to kill those who speak to her might indeed not be wise Mr Wainwright."
Udella said and she raised an eyebrow.
He smiled wryly, "I do wonder, though, who initially made the elevator and pacted the spirit to it... It does look more like an Etherite construction than, say, of Hermetic or Chorister make..."

He nodded, "You will certainly learn how to do so, and how to do so safely without contracting Resonance. Who knows, you might have to drain a Node someday, like I did with the torture chamber in the Labyrinth... Just remember, while such brute strength can get the job done under many circumstances, subtlety can often get you a lot farther. Of course, if you can manage to mix absurd levels of raw power with subtle skill, that will certainly be the best option almost all of the time."

"No one can hold it against you to protect yourself Mr Wainwright but if it is the Senior Quesitor trying to arrest you let me handle it and do not fight back as that can be held against you."
The Enforcer warned.
He nodded thoughtfully, "If it is the Senior Quaesitor who shows up in person to make the arrest, I will of course defer to my legal counsel, seeing as I am already under oath to surrender to Master Tolle's authority, as Master D'Angelo has a clear and solid personal bias rendering her unsuited to handle my case. I do, however, not entirely trust the good Quaesitor to play... entirely cleanly. Seeing as she was already shot down with witnesses present, I don't think she would be foolish enough to try another such stunt in person with even more witnesses present... and if she were to have a few pawns leased from the Fallen to try to collect me, well, who in the world would be able to connect her to them?"
He smiled down to Anna, "I'll lift your restraints a little more the very moment I sense trouble; I'm not letting you handle a gun right now, but your quick reflexes and cunning spellcraft might prove more precious than Primium bullets."

The elevator door opened with a small ding sound as you where talking with Anna.
He gently ushered the ladies into the elevator and followed close behind, entering the sequence of floors needed to get to the Umbral Port.

But, such a kit is still a ways off; perhaps next Christmas if you wish for it by then, otherwise later."

Anna looked at you still not completely convinced and since she could not pluck at her socks as she was being carried she plucked at her sweather again.
"I ehm...guess I could get used to...the big plastic things...perhaps given time...but not yet...they are still needles put perhaps given time to get used to the idea and if I used gloves I could...possibly do a kit like that at some point in the future."
She muttered nervously.
"But not now..."

"Well you could petition the Deacn Council to make it mandetory but I would not recomend it at many might see that as an infringement on their privacy and fight you, but I suspect that if you get your Security Chief to agree to posting a general notice and encouragement to go along with getting the Chantry vaccinated then most would comply and those who do not, most of them can probaly be talked into it."
Udella said and Anna looked from her to you, clearly she was uneasy about this.
"Are you going to try to talk the Mentor of that girl into vaccinating her? I mean if she is scared I do not want her teacher to force her."
She said nervously.
"Perhaps something can be done to make her comfortable with the idea, or at least making it doable, after all how a fear triggers vary from person to person so your Mentor will really not know if it is possible without speaking with her Mentor."
Udella said and Anna nodded but she still looked worried about it.

He smiled wryly, "I do wonder, though, who initially made the elevator and pacted the spirit to it... It does look more like an Etherite construction than, say, of Hermetic or Chorister make..."

"Well Etherites did contruct the Umbral port so if the spirit where bound to the elevator by someone they are likely the ones responsible, but they could also have found the regio and just made an Umbral dock in it and the spirit where already here, I have heard she can show up in other elevators as well with the right sequence of buttons pressed."
Udella said and nodded.

"You can do so and not get Resonence Mentor? How? That is really impressive."
Anna said and grinned.
"Yeah subtle metods are usually a good idea, but it is still cool to think about using that much power at once, it must feel pretty great, and can you imagine just how amazing a spell that could fuel, imagine if a Master of the Art used that much Quintessence."
Anna said exitedtly and she was about to start jumping up and down again but then she restrained herself, the pain from last time holding her at bay.

"If she show up to collect you then I will inform her that you are my client and I am escorting you to your meeting with Master Tolle, she is the Senior Quesitor of Boston but House Guernicus value age and experience and I outrank her in the House, she can not legally protest such an arangement. I doubt she will send someone to collect you, keeping you would then risk exposing criminal misconduct, if she send anyone it would be to kill you not capture you, and it would be someone that can not be tied to you."
Udella said calmly.
"And if that happens we will defend ourselves, and we will win."

He smiled down to Anna, "I'll lift your restraints a little more the very moment I sense trouble; I'm not letting you handle a gun right now, but your quick reflexes and cunning spellcraft might prove more precious than Primium bullets."

Anna gave a nod at that.
"I will do my best Mentor, countering hostile spells then and otherwise stay as hidden as possible?"
She asked to be clear about what you wanted of her.
"I am glad, like I said guns are noisy and they hurt my hands they like really jump when you fire them."
She said sounding a little relieved.

He gently ushered the ladies into the elevator and followed close behind, entering the sequence of floors needed to get to the Umbral Port.

You went though the sequence of floors, you got to the fifth floor and the spirit woman got on, she said nothing and neither did Anna or Udella, then unless you decide to speak to her for some reason you got up to floor ten, and then the room and you were on the Umbral port. Something looking like a small space ship had docked next to the Mercere craft you see, otherthan that you saw now one up here, only that glowing cross in the distance. Anna looked around and frowned.
"This place is creepy Mentor."
She anounced then she saw Mary's Serafina and she shuddered.
"Shit, for some reason my lazy dragon really, really do not like that ship...is that the corrupted one?"

"Yeah I guess you are right about that. I can tell them I have not been hurt and that my magick is completely ok. I guess telling them about the hospital might worry them since they might think that you will start experimenting on me, even if Mr Wainwright said I could leave at any time I wanted to that I did not have to do it and no one held me down and forced me." Kyle said and he scratched his head. "Keeping the explination short for now might be a good idea."

He frowned a bit as he spoke about the hospital. "We'll have to talk about that later too, I'm not sure I understood all of what happened or what we learned. But that could be me being tired. Oh, and I asked them to use your apprentice name. You should do the same, it is a protective measure."

"Ray...ehm...Kyle...are you well? Have they hurt you? Have you been given food? Are you hurt in any way?" The questions kept coming and Kyle gave a nervous little luagh. "They have not harmed me mom, I am ok I have been in a cell, but it was warm and I had books to read. Yes I have been given as much food as I want and I have not been mistreated in any way."

He stood in the door with the flood of questions and then asked, "May we come in? I can put this down somewhere..."

[Chicago Umbral Port, 6:40 PM]
Anna looked at you still not completely convinced and since she could not pluck at her socks as she was being carried she plucked at her sweather again.
"I ehm...guess I could get used to...the big plastic things...perhaps given time...but not yet...they are still needles put perhaps given time to get used to the idea and if I used gloves I could...possibly do a kit like that at some point in the future."
She muttered nervously.
"But not now..."
Colin nodded, "Gloves, yes, you will get those - and we'll go shopping for a nice pair for you soon enough - and I won't give you such a kit until you are ready."

He nodded, "No, I would not try anything stronger than a well formulated request and recommendation; I simply do not have the leverage for anything more - though I already have a few ideas for how to present the argument to our more senior members."
He shook his head to Anna, "Her Mentor is a skilled doctor; if he has managed to convince her to get vaccinated, then that is good, but I don't think he would allow anyone to pressure her into it. I think if anyone could ever convince her, actually, it would be you and her overcoming your fears together, and not anyone else."

He nodded thoughtfully, "I wonder if she would respond to the name Charon... if someone were to attempt to call on her from elsewhere, of course."

He grinned, "One of the chaps from your Labyrinth made a Ball of Abysmal Flame that threatened to blow up the Boston Umbral Port... He was quite displeased my little spell helped drain it without giving my Security Chief and myself unmanageable amounts of Jhor as we bled the damnable thing dry... he tried to make another in the Labyrinth, and I was able to drain that one, too, even as another Master in my party managed to wrap the remains of the ball in enough space that the remains of it detonated harmlessly... I would not care to be on a battlefield with a Master Flambeau who decided to use my little innovation to fuel a fireball with all the power of a nearby Node, for example; the sheer potential would be terrifying for friend or foe alike."

He nodded, "She might try to have me captured for her own personal satisfaction if she thought she could get away with secreting me away somewhere she could get me... but yes, any attempted ambush would probably be of the more murderous kind."
He frowned, "It is actually possible she could leverage some Fallen Technocrats to do that bit of dirty work - there were two who tried to abduct Mrs. Wellspring while I was in the Boston Labyrinth. Fortunately, the Handler and I managed to thwart that kidnapping."

He nodded, then pondered, "Perhaps you've been given slightly too large handguns for your strength, though - there are some quite dainty handguns on the market that might be better suited to you than the more common calibers. But for now, hold your head down and run interference if necessary, nothing more."

"This place is creepy Mentor."
She anounced then she saw Mary's Serafina and she shuddered.
"Shit, for some reason my lazy dragon really, really do not like that ship...is that the corrupted one?"
He nodded, keeping a wary eye on the new arrival, "The place is a little unsettling, yes, and that glowing cross does not make it look any less creepy... that spaceship over there arrived sometime in the past couple of hours, I note... and yes, that scary ship is the Mary's Serafina; it... went to a really bad place, and the crew died... only the captain survived, but he's been in a Jhor-induced coma ever since. I've made a deal with the owner, though, to try to cleanse the ship; if successful, I'll get to take her out on an expedition to search for something, and then a cut of her sale price once she's proven to be in pristine condition once again."
He shook his head, "But that's not important right now... Let's head over to our ride home, the shuttle down at the end there - I'm guessing our pilot is getting a bit of rest inside. Just... stay alert, just in case."

[Colin] (Chicago Umbral Port at 6 30 in the afternoon.)

Colin nodded, "Gloves, yes, you will get those - and we'll go shopping for a nice pair for you soon enough - and I won't give you such a kit until you are ready."

Anna nodded at that and she chewed on her lower lip a bit nervously but at least she was not rejecting that she might take on such a crafting project at some point in time.

He nodded, "No, I would not try anything stronger than a well formulated request and recommendation; I simply do not have the leverage for anything more - though I already have a few ideas for how to present the argument to our more senior members."

"Would you have forced it through it you had that kind of leverage Mentor?"
Anna asked nervously. Udella just nodded.
"Well good luck with that, and Anna talking someone into going along with what you want is always better than trying to use force, with force you might get your way but also gain allot of resentment, and that is usually not a good ting."

Anna samed to get reasured by that and she nodded and gave you a small smile.
"Ok Mentor that seams resonable."
She agreed.
"If this girl do not get vaccinated will I still be allowed to play with her? I do not think I will ever get over that fear though...it is to strong."
The young mage muttered.

He nodded thoughtfully, "I wonder if she would respond to the name Charon... if someone were to attempt to call on her from elsewhere, of course."

"It is possible that she is some shard of that spirit or at least a representation of his archetype. I do wonder how she would respond to being called in some other capacity or place than the elevator."
Udella said and frowned.

"Your rote seam to be really useful Mentor. What do it do? Let you use Quintessence without drawing it into your own Avatar?"
Anna asked then she gave you a bright smile.
"It seams I am getting a really impressive Mentor."

He nodded, "She might try to have me captured for her own personal satisfaction if she thought she could get away with secreting me away somewhere she could get me... but yes, any attempted ambush would probably be of the more murderous kind."

"The question is really what she would have to gain from that, holding you captive is a risk, sending someone to get you killed, if it can not be traced to her is a far lesser risk, but off course she might be sadistic and stupid but barring that I would thing getting rid of you would be her goal my good man."
Udella said and frowned.

He frowned, "It is actually possible she could leverage some Fallen Technocrats to do that bit of dirty work - there were two who tried to abduct Mrs. Wellspring while I was in the Boston Labyrinth. Fortunately, the Handler and I managed to thwart that kidnapping."

"We know there are Fallen from every faction, but now we are just speculating, we should probably leave it to being on guard for a potential attack, unless we have more information to go on, speculation is not likely to help us much."
The Enforcer said.

He nodded, then pondered, "Perhaps you've been given slightly too large handguns for your strength, though - there are some quite dainty handguns on the market that might be better suited to you than the more common calibers. But for now, hold your head down and run interference if necessary, nothing more."

"It was my old Mentor's gun at it was really heavy, a smaller one would probably be better."
Anna said then she nodded.
"Agreed, I will keep my head down Mentor, and run interferance, leave it to me."
She agreed and smiled.

"I have grown up in a Labyrinth Mentor so creepy is relative off course but there is a mood here...no I do not like it here, not at all."
Anna said and her eyes darted around nervously.
"You are going to try to cleanse that cursed ship? That sounds really dangerous, though I guess an expedition in an Umbral ship do sound cool and I am sure they are valuable so a portion of the sale is probably quite a bit but even so that sounds risky.

He shook his head, "But that's not important right now... Let's head over to our ride home, the shuttle down at the end there - I'm guessing our pilot is getting a bit of rest inside. Just... stay alert, just in case."

"You do not have to tell me twice Mentor. I will be glad when we are out of here."
Anna said as she headed for Master Morgan's shuttle.
"Should I knock or something?"
She asked you.

[Adley] (Steelhaven 5 30 in the afternoon.)

He frowned a bit as he spoke about the hospital. "We'll have to talk about that later too, I'm not sure I understood all of what happened or what we learned. But that could be me being tired. Oh, and I asked them to use your apprentice name. You should do the same, it is a protective measure."

"I am not completely sure myself Adley, I think Dr Lee found out that the serum is dangerous if you are on it for to long, and he also learned a potential cure for those who have been hurt by it, but I think Dr Lee knows more about it than me."
Kyle said and the scratched his head.
"Truth to be told I was a bit out of it for allot of what happened, first I asked for a sedative when he put me in the scanner thing, I had to be fastened down with this head brace thing and I hate being restrained, so I slept for that, and when I woke up Dr Lee said that he had an idea for how to help those harmed by the serum but for that he needed to poke at my spine twice, and Miss Adlebloom needed that for she might die if no cure is found so I said yes. The first time was not so bad, all I felt was pressure, but then the second time it really, really hurt and it kind of freaked me out. Also he had to put an IV in my food for he did not find a vein anywhere else, and that hurt to for he had to try like five times, so it was no fun."
Your young brother explained, not that his somewhat jumbeled explination as likely to make you any clearer on what had transpired.
"Yeah and ok I can totally use the name Kyle, that is ok."

He stood in the door with the flood of questions and then asked, "May we come in? I can put this down somewhere..."

"Ohh...yes off course...here I am babbeling...off course off course come in."
Mrs Danbrock said as she moved aside.
"I am so sorry about that."
She said apologetically.
"Ehm...just put the tray down on the table please Sir...also may I hug my son now?"

[Nicole] (On the road in Boston 5 30 in the afternoon.)

'Do what you feel is best.'

"I think probably keeping an eye on it is an good idea."
Thorn said and he touched a drop of blood from his finger to his eyelid again and glanced out the window and up again.
"Yeah...that is a drone...I see that pretty clearely now."
The blood witch grunted in a dismayed tone of voice.

'That's a question Mr Shade can answer, I think.' Nicole said in a matter-of-fact tone. 'What's the most likely thing a Union team would do if they'd hit the Fallen base and discovered me like we did you?' drumming her fingers on the steering-wheel, wanting to get to the drop-off point as soon as possible.

James sigh.
"I do not know why they are putting so much effort intro retriving me, perhaps they suspect I am running, the Union do not like traitors, it really, really do not like traitors."
He said fearfully.
"If the Technocracy had found you as your group found me, most likely you would have been given a quick and painless death. It is also a chance you would have been taken in, interrogated and then either recruited or sent to MECHA as slave labor."
He admitted softly. Thorn frowned at that then he anounced.
"We are about five minutes away."

"Ok...she should get some rest. You can invite her to visit my mother's kitchen later."
Bernard said and nodded.
"You think she can remove those memories? Make it so it never happened or at least I can think it never happened?"
He asked softly.

"She could do that. Quite easily in fact. Whether she will or not is up to her." Serge replied.

"You here trained by a teacher then? I guess that makes sense that one would need someone to teach magick."
The wounded man said and nodded but then he looked nervous.
"Leaving here but...but...that woman is out there, the bad woman is out there."

"Typically your teacher protects you while they train you. Not to mention all of the natural magickal protection you'll have in general while staying with us. I doubt that evil women would bother trying to break into a fortress for one guy she's likely forgotten." Serge argued.

"It is not really my explination, it was my ex that taught me terms like that, but it do make sense do it not? The idea that we have a higher self that can be personified."
Bernard said and he smiled a little.
"Yeah I guess I will get used to her, but I do wonder what she wants me to do for she clearly wants something."

"It can be difficult to understand it in the beginning. But if you just look deep inside yourself and listen to her carefully I'm sure you'll find the answer." Serge said kindly. "Sometimes the answer is obvious, but our willingness to listen is what holds us back. You'll have to break through barriers you might not be comfortable breaking."

[Morningstar, 6:30 PM]
Anna nodded at that and she chewed on her lower lip a bit nervously but at least she was not rejecting that she might take on such a crafting project at some point in time.
Colin smiled warmly, "Not to worry, sweetie - I'm probably going to get you crochet hooks long before you see a needle. And there are all other sorts of crafting equipment, too, that does not involve needles of any kind. Might get you a pair of fabric scissors and a hot glue gun - if you feel like trying your hand at making some clothes for yourself."

He shook his head, "Only under one specific condition - which is unlikely to come up. If I were to bring a group to a country with specific vaccine requirements, such as yellow fever vaccines for going to countries where that disease is a problem, I would require my companions to get vaccinated, both for the medical safety of it, and the mundane bureaucracy, just in case. Outside of that, no, I might offer some compelling arguments for why it should be done, but I won't use force on someone I can't convince."

Anna samed to get reasured by that and she nodded and gave you a small smile.
"Ok Mentor that seams resonable."

"If this girl do not get vaccinated will I still be allowed to play with her? I do not think I will ever get over that fear though...it is to strong."
The young mage muttered.
He chuckled, "I don't think it would help if I said no anyway... Overcoming your fears aside, I believe you will be good for one another, in many ways. You have my blessing, sweetie."

"It is possible that she is some shard of that spirit or at least a representation of his archetype. I do wonder how she would respond to being called in some other capacity or place than the elevator."
Udella said and frowned.
He nodded, "Well, whatever the case may be, I am in no rush to find out."

"Your rote seam to be really useful Mentor. What do it do? Let you use Quintessence without drawing it into your own Avatar?"
Anna asked then she gave you a bright smile.
"It seams I am getting a really impressive Mentor."
He nodded, "Spot on. It does make the Quintessence drawn on more influential on the spell - you would not want to use corrupted Quintessence on a healing spell, for example, while highly Static Quintessence would be very good for a ward."

He grinned sheepishly, "Well, she does have quite a grudge against me - I convinced Master Tolle to examine her Avatar for possible outside influences before the six gathered Masters could make their attempt on my Cabalmate... we all knew it was a stalling tactic, but he complied with my legal request for assurance all the same..."

"We know there are Fallen from every faction, but now we are just speculating, we should probably leave it to being on guard for a potential attack, unless we have more information to go on, speculation is not likely to help us much."
The Enforcer said.
He nodded, "Merely ticking off the checkboxes for known potential threats..."

"It was my old Mentor's gun at it was really heavy, a smaller one would probably be better."
Anna said then she nodded.
"Agreed, I will keep my head down Mentor, and run interferance, leave it to me."

He frowned, "Labyrinths are creepy, but this place feels... a little more oppressive, perhaps; less like it considers you food, more like there's something mildly hostile that is watching."
He smiled, "Yes, I mean to make a very thorough attempt at cleansing her - and I mean to make sure there's no real danger to anyone involved at any time, which means there's going to be quite a lot of research and planning before I lift a finger in the ship's general direction."

"You do not have to tell me twice Mentor. I will be glad when we are out of here."
Anna said as she headed for Master Morgan's shuttle.
"Should I knock or something?"
She asked you.
He grinned and reached out to open the hatch, "Nah, I'll just open up and call for Mr. Tallweller. He's probably in the cockpit anyway, so he might not hear the tapping on the hatch."

It seems it is not safe in the long run, as I said you have saved more lives than you probably realise. I'm sorry you got hurt though, I wish I could have been with you," he said. "Well, when we're all together we can pool our knowledge, everything is starting to blur together. At any rate, your parents will probably not like any of that any more than we do. He sighed. "I don't want them to think that we've been abusing you or hiding things but they'll figure out you got a bit hurt. It might be better to keep some of the details for now, since they're already so upset and worried, and have no real reason to trust anything we've said or done but since they already know you got the serum, let's start there and see how it goes," he suggested.

He went in and put the tray down on the table, then returned to Kyle's side. "Yes, but please be careful. He's had the serum and needles do not seem to sit well with him, as we've found out. He is not a prisoner any longer though so he should not need more of it for that reason," he added.

[Colin] (Chicago Umbral Port at 6 30 in the afternoon.)

"A crocket hook is not a needle so that is ok."
Anna said and nodded.
"One can make clothes with a hot glue gun, will that hold?"
The little girl asked sounding suprised.
"Sure I can try it, making things is fun."

Anna seamed to settle down with that answer.
"That is fair Mentor, and as long as no one is being forced it is ok I guess."
She said though it was clear she did not understand why anyone would do such a thing willingly.
"What is yellow fever Mentor? Is it a bad illness?"
She asked.

He chuckled, "I don't think it would help if I said no anyway... Overcoming your fears aside, I believe you will be good for one another, in many ways. You have my blessing, sweetie."

"Thank you Mentor, I have always wanted a friend my own age, I had one once and I really liked her but she...got killed."
She muttered and she seamed sad for a moment before she smiled again.
"I do look forward to meeting a new friend."

He nodded, "Well, whatever the case may be, I am in no rush to find out."

Udella just nodded at that.

He nodded, "Spot on. It does make the Quintessence drawn on more influential on the spell - you would not want to use corrupted Quintessence on a healing spell, for example, while highly Static Quintessence would be very good for a ward."

Anna nodded at that and chewed on her lower lip as she considered.
"Yeah that makes allot of sense Mentor, if the Quintessence is not drawn through the Avatar of the caster then it would only have it's own Resonence and none of the mage using it...though it might be possible to set up an external Resonance filter to fix that issue, perhaps but without seeing the rote itself I would not know for sure."

"Yes you told me this Mr Roth Hicks and that would indeed serve to get you on someone's bad side, however would it be enough to make her risk her own safety and plans to get a hold of you to torture you when killing you will do just fine to get you out of the way?"
The old Quesitor asked. Anna looked sadly at her advocate.
"Some pepole like to torture others Master Adimari."
She wispered.

He nodded, "Merely ticking off the checkboxes for known potential threats..."

"That is fair enough."
Udella said and nodded.

He nodded, "One day I will teach you firearms safety and maintenance, and then marksmanship. But, that is a ways into the future."

"That might might be useful Mentor."
Anna said but she was clearly more enusiastic about learning magick, cooking and crafting than how to shoot, through she saw the value in it.

He frowned, "Labyrinths are creepy, but this place feels... a little more oppressive, perhaps; less like it considers you food, more like there's something mildly hostile that is watching."

Anna nodded her agreement to that as she glanced around nervously.

He smiled, "Yes, I mean to make a very thorough attempt at cleansing her - and I mean to make sure there's no real danger to anyone involved at any time, which means there's going to be quite a lot of research and planning before I lift a finger in the ship's general direction."

"That is quite the task Mentor, and I wish you the best with it...I would help if I could but my dragon really, really do not like that ship."
Anna said and pouted.
"I think he is scared of it, which makes me uneasy as well."

He grinned and reached out to open the hatch, "Nah, I'll just open up and call for Mr. Tallweller. He's probably in the cockpit anyway, so he might not hear the tapping on the hatch."

Anna nodded at that. You opened the hatch and heard the drunk Etherite gruble from inside the cockpit.
"Mr Wainwright is that you?"

[Nicole] (On the road in Boston 5 30 in the afternoon.)

'Don't worry... it's only as clever as the hand guiding it.' Nicole replied, seemingly unconcerned. 'And it can only watch; the boots on the ground to actually do something may be further away.'

"It is still rather advinaced...which means with luck something might go wrong, but I am a bit worried about downing it since it might fall and hit one of these cars and cause an accident."
Thorn said as he glanced up at the drone.
"But if you want it gone I can truy to make it happen."

'Exactly. They'll be thinking we're taking you somewhere to recruit you or simply pump all the info we can out of you. That's something which needs to be stopped.'

"Shit, you are right, dammit that might even be my Amalgam trying to save me, I mean I would do anything to save one of them."
James said sounding a bit shocked for a moment.
"I hope we get away then I do not want to go up against them. I am not going back but I care about them I do not want to see any of them harmed."
He said sounding worried.

A nod to this.

"If you take to the right here you should be able to see the shopping chenter coming up up pretty soon."
Thorn anounced.

[Adley] (Steelhaven 5 30 in the afternoon.)

His frown deepened, not liking what he was hearing and trying to recall all that Colin had said about the stuff. "Yes, that is what I've gotten as well. It seems it is not safe in the long run, as I said you have saved more lives than you probably realise. I'm sorry you got hurt though, I wish I could have been with you," he said.

"I am glad I could do something to help, usually i have only been a bother or directly harmful."
Kyle said and he smiled a little.
"I am ok Adley, I mean it was no fun but Mr Wainwright, Dr Lee and Miss Adlebloom was there so I felt safe and no one forced me to do anything. When I have gotten Paradox sick, and I did that allot as a kid before I learned to control my magick, usually they held me down...I hate being held down but Mr Wainwright said I could leave if I wanted to and then it is ok...it feels pretty good to be able to help someone."
He added happily.

"I think you need a rest Adley."
Kyle said and he sounded concerned.
"I have wanted a brother all my life, please do not exhaust yourself completely I want to keep you safe now that I finally got one."
He added and he smiled a little.
"I think I will just tell my parents if they ask that Dr Lee wanted to make sure the serum would not harm me so he gave me an exam and it sucked a bit since he could not easilly find vein, they never do, mine are tiny and they hide...anyway that should be enough not to worry my folks."
He said then he nodded.
"Pooling information is good but I think you want Mr Wainwright and Dr Lee then for I really do not know anything I just went along with the tests."

He went in and put the tray down on the table, then returned to Kyle's side. "Yes, but please be careful. He's had the serum and needles do not seem to sit well with him, as we've found out. He is not a prisoner any longer though so he should not need more of it for that reason," he added.

"We have had to take him to the hospital allot when he lost control of his magick as a kid...some of those visits where...traumatic."
Mr Danbrock said and sigh then he gently hugged his son before Mrs Danbrock did the same.
"Are you harmed? Are you still complete?"
Mr Danbrock asked and Kyle nodded.
"Yeah Japanese ghost lady is still there, though she feels a bit like she have been wrapped in cotton, it is a little scary but I am ok."
He said and his father drew a breath of relief.
"Oh Ray...ehm Kyle I never wanted this for you...forgive me for not being able to keep you safe."
The hedge wizard whispered and Kyle smiled a little.
"It is okey dad, I choose to do something good and help you and help the Traditions do something about the Nephandi...I did that because you kept me good, if anything...bad happens then at least I have that one thing right...I did something good, my life mattered."
Your brother said then he looked at you for a moment and asked.
"That is right? is it not if things go wrong at least I did one thing that mattered?"

[Serge] (Steelhaven at 5 30 in the afternoon.)

"She could do that. Quite easily in fact. Whether she will or not is up to her." Serge replied.

"Could you ask her for me...please, after she have rested?"
Bernard pleaded, desperate to be rid of the memory of what had happened to him.

"Typically your teacher protects you while they train you. Not to mention all of the natural magickal protection you'll have in general while staying with us. I doubt that evil women would bother trying to break into a fortress for one guy she's likely forgotten." Serge argued.

"I guess you are right Serge but I do not have a teacher yet."
The wounded man protested fearfully.
"And besides out there the bad things have happened, in here I can pretend that I am still fine, that I am not broken and destroyed, pretend that I am not reduced to nothing."
He whispered and the room darked around him as he started to sob.

"I am not sure if I want to look deep inside of myself...and face what is there...what that woman did to me, looking inside would be to face that, and I do not think I can do that."
Bernard whispered.
"Please don't make me do that...I do not want to think about it, why would the ash girl want me to look at that?"
He sobbed softly.

Anja's Post:

'Most drones small and light, they are; highly unlikely to cause anybody to actually die.' Nicole replied. 'And... if it did for some reason hit a car behind us, it might cause a bit of a road blockage... with any Mirrorshade team tailing us might get stuck behind.' ending with a distinctly nasty smirk.

Anja's Post:

'Got a few more tricks, I have. And if they're tailing the car, there's a good chance they'll continue following us, not you once we split.' the large woman reasoned.

Anja's Post:

Nicole did as bidden, leaving it almost too late to come off the freeway - meaning any tail would have to make it blatant they were following them.

More Clean Up, New Apprentices and Helping an Union Man IC Thread 28 - Page 14 Empty Re: More Clean Up, New Apprentices and Helping an Union Man IC Thread 28

Post by Adley Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:54 pm

"I am glad I could do something to help, usually i have only been a bother or directly harmful." Kyle said and he smiled a little. "I am ok Adley, I mean it was no fun but Mr Wainwright, Dr Lee and Miss Adlebloom was there so I felt safe and no one forced me to do anything. When I have gotten Paradox sick, and I did that allot as a kid before I learned to control my magick, usually they held me down...I hate being held down but Mr Wainwright said I could leave if I wanted to and then it is ok...it feels pretty good to be able to help someone." He added happily.

He knew he didn't really have any right to feel proud of Kyle it wasn't as if he had done all that much with him to feel that way but he did anyway. Proud that he was able to feel that way, that he was brave and even though so much had happened he wanted to help people and that it had felt good for him to do that, instead of just feeling good when his darker impulses took hold. Having pride in good work was not necessarily a bad thing, after all. "I'm glad that you feel that way, truly."

"I think you need a rest Adley."Kyle said

"Definitely..."

"I have wanted a brother all my life, please do not exhaust yourself completely I want to keep you safe now that I finally got one."
He added and he smiled a little.

He gave a bit of a laugh. "Yeah, well this is not the safest of Houses to be in but I feel the same."

"I think I will just tell my parents if they ask that Dr Lee wanted to make sure the serum would not harm me so he gave me an exam and it sucked a bit since he could not easilly find vein, they never do, mine are tiny and they hide...anyway that should be enough not to worry my folks." He said then he nodded. "Pooling information is good but I think you want Mr Wainwright and Dr Lee then for I really do not know anything I just went along with the tests."

He nodded. "That seems good enough for now...it's true, after all."

While they reunited, he stood apart but ready in case either decided to change their mind now that they were in the same room as Kyle but didn't say anything until he was addressed. For a moment, he just felt a rush of emotions at his question and looked between his father, mother and back to the teenager. "Kyle, you helped not only several individuals, but helped to save Boston, the suburbs around it, but the entire world, existence itself. I am not exaggerating that your help aided us greatly and if you hadn't come with me when you did, who knows what might have happened but none of it would have been good. You have done more than one thing that mattered..."

Post by Warpmind Mon Jun 25, 2018 10:03 pm

[Chicago Umbral Port, 6:30 PM]
"A crocket hook is not a needle so that is ok."
Anna said and nodded.
"One can make clothes with a hot glue gun, will that hold?"
The little girl asked sounding suprised.
"Sure I can try it, making things is fun."
Colin nodded, "Hot glue is commonly used when speed is of the essence, for example if someone has to make a costume for a party or something similar quickly - and it's also useful for attaching non-fabric elements to fabric. I wouldn't guarantee the durability of such clothes, though, but it might be possible to get someone either sew or magically fuse the fabrics together after gluing."

Anna seamed to settle down with that answer.
"That is fair Mentor, and as long as no one is being forced it is ok I guess."
She said though it was clear she did not understand why anyone would do such a thing willingly.
"What is yellow fever Mentor? Is it a bad illness?"
She asked.
He nodded, "Let's see, how was it described to me in the Air Force... with yellow fever, first you get fever and chills, then you turn yellow, then you vomit blood, and then you die... so yes, it's quite bad. Fortunately, the vaccine is quite effective, and it's not exactly a large risk in these parts - more of a tropical climate problem."

"Thank you Mentor, I have always wanted a friend my own age, I had one once and I really liked her but she...got killed."
She muttered and she seamed sad for a moment before she smiled again.
"I do look forward to meeting a new friend."
He nodded, "I know..."

He grinned, "Clever girl. We've got a lot of experimentation ahead."

He shrugged, "It all boils down to how much she wants to see me suffer... I would not want to place a wager on either option."

"That might might be useful Mentor."
Anna said but she was clearly more enusiastic about learning magick, cooking and crafting than how to shoot, through she saw the value in it.
He smiled, "Even the mundane marksmanship skill can be helpful in magic - help you get even better at quickly estimating distance and any applicable effects such as wind and height difference to anything you might need to cast spells at."

"That is quite the task Mentor, and I wish you the best with it...I would help if I could but my dragon really, really do not like that ship."
Anna said and pouted.
"I think he is scared of it, which makes me uneasy as well."
He nodded, giving it an uneasy glance, "The ship accidentally found the Caul dimension... the echoes from that linger."

Anna nodded at that. You opened the hatch and heard the drunk Etherite gruble from inside the cockpit.
"Mr Wainwright is that you?"
He grinned wryly, "Permission to come aboard, Sir? Wainwright here, bringing two passengers for the trip back... Did you enjoy your sightseeing here at the port?"

"Could you ask her for me...please, after she have rested?"
Bernard pleaded, desperate to be rid of the memory of what had happened to him.

"Once she's rested I promise I'll ask her to help you." Serge said in a comforting voice. "Don't worry. She's the nicest person in the world. She'll help you, in her own way. That's what she specializes in after all."

"You don't need to pretend anything. Your so much more than nothing. Your a person with hopes and dreams and a family. You will be fine if you leave this place. Trust me..." Serge said softly, trying to ease the man's pains.

"It's up to you. I'm not making you do anything. You can do it when you feel ready." Serge said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"Facing your fears is a common way to grow up. That's probably why the ash girl wants you to do it. If you always let what happened to you hold you back, you'll never move forwards."

[Colin] (Chicago Umbral Port at 6 30 in the afternoon.)

Anna considered at that.
"Perhaps clothes are not the best thing to start with then Mentor since I like to make things that last."
The young mage commented.
"But there is allot of other things I can make."

"Ah...tat sounds..unplesant I guess I will stay out of areas with a tropical climate then."
Anna said and frowned.
"That illness sounds no fun at all, then again there is allot of horrible illnesses out there."

He nodded, "I know..."

Anna grinned at that.

He grinned, "Clever girl. We've got a lot of experimentation ahead."

"So we do and that might be fun Mentor, I do think it could work though to sort of make a filter and inject Resonance into that to balance out the Resonance caused by Quintessence itself when using your rote."
She said and nodded.
"And I have a sort of idea for how to make a filter like that."

He shrugged, "It all boils down to how much she wants to see me suffer... I would not want to place a wager on either option."

"Let's try to make sure she do not get you at all."
Udella said and frowned.

He smiled, "Even the mundane marksmanship skill can be helpful in magic - help you get even better at quickly estimating distance and any applicable effects such as wind and height difference to anything you might need to cast spells at."

The young make nodded a bit hesitantly.
"Well I guess you are right about that Mentor, then again most thing can be useful for one kind of magick or another can it not?"
She asked and glanced up at you.

He nodded, giving it an uneasy glance, "The ship accidentally found the Caul dimension... the echoes from that linger."

"Oh...ehm...can we go now Mentor?"
Anna said and she hurried to the shuttle holding her chest as she did so, eager to be away from Mary's Serafina.

He grinned wryly, "Permission to come aboard, Sir? Wainwright here, bringing two passengers for the trip back... Did you enjoy your sightseeing here at the port?"

"Ah Mr Wainwright please do come aboard...well enjoy and enjoy it is a creepy place but I looked around a bit, then I thought it best to get back here before I got myself lost."
The Etherite grumbeled.
"Are you ready to go then?"

[Serge] (Steelhaven at 5 30 in the afternoon.)

"Once she's rested I promise I'll ask her to help you." Serge said in a comforting voice. "Don't worry. She's the nicest person in the world. She'll help you, in her own way. That's what she specializes in after all."

Bernard nodded at that.
"O...ok thank you."
He said softly.
"She sounds like a great person. I will wait here until she is rested then."

"You don't need to pretend anything. Your so much more than nothing. Your a person with hopes and dreams and a family. You will be fine if you leave this place. Trust me..." Serge said softly, trying to ease the man's pains.

"I am not so sure that matters much anymore, not after what that woman did to me...again and again and again ans she filmed it to...she earns money that way."
The wounded man wept and the kitchen grew ever darker around him, cracks appearing in the walls now, and oun the counters where computers showing horrible images of torture and abuse.

"It's up to you. I'm not making you do anything. You can do it when you feel ready." Serge said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"I am not doing it at all."
Bernad protested.

"Facing your fears is a common way to grow up. That's probably why the ash girl wants you to do it. If you always let what happened to you hold you back, you'll never move forwards."

"I don't think I can move forward...after it all I do not think I can!"
Bernard wept.
"The ash girl can't expect that of me."

[Adley] (Steelhaven 5 30 in the afternoon.)

"I...ehm...you know what I am to. I try to be a good person but at times I wonder if I am an actual good person or if I am just keeping my darker impulses at bay not to get beaten by my father, but this time I had a choice and I choose to help someone and that feels good, perhaps there is hope I can be more than just someone born wrong."
Kyle said and he gave you a little smile.

He gave a bit of a laugh. "Yeah, well this is not the safest of Houses to be in but I feel the same."

"Well yes it is a bit in the name of the thing that it is not exactly the fluffy, fluffy fun times with flowers House but we can try to stay alive regardless right?"
The young mage said and grinned.

He nodded. "That seems good enough for now...it's true, after all."

Kyle nodded at that.

While they reunited, he stood apart but ready in case either decided to change their mind now that they were in the same room as Kyle but didn't say anything until he was addressed. He muttered and his father put a hand on his son's shoulder.
"I am proud of you kid."
He said softly before he hugged his son again.

[Nicole] (On the road in Boston 5 30 in the afternoon.)

Thorn nodded at that, he took his dagger and carved another symbol into the palm of his hand then he directed it at the drone...after a few moments you heard the sound of several cars scrreching to a halt, there where no big bang of a collision but the falling drone had clearly distrupted traffic. Thorn looked pleased with himself and put his dagger away.
"It seams you where right Miss."
He commented.

'Got a few more tricks, I have. And if they're tailing the car, there's a good chance they'll continue following us, not you once we split.' the large woman reasoned.

"Well then I get away, but what about you and your friend? And what about my Amalgam Miss?"
James said, he sounded really concerned.

Nicole did as bidden, leaving it almost too late to come off the freeway - meaning any tail would have to make it blatant they were following them.

As you took the turn you could see the small mall or shopping center that Thorn had mentioned coming up, it would not be long now, you could see the opening to the shopping garage.

(OOC: Well then I have to run, I am heading to the train, I will post more tonight.)

[Tane] (Labyrinth Master Dupre's strike team, 3: 30 in the afternoon.)

Load your pack to the ships and leave me a couple minutes, then, let's try this. Let's see if we can fell this monster for good

"We are on a spirit turned ship, we are going back to physical reality though that portal right there...but yes if you find the center we will assist you."
Dino said and nodded after he had pointed to the portal back to physical reality.

Tane said and sat in the middle of the room to tap his feet and sing with a gutural chant resonating all over him, looking for the heart of the monstruous construct to rip it away.

You could feel the spiritual heart of the massive creature, it was some distance away though so if you went for it the being would have the chance to get rather far into the Umbra before you would have a chance to leave. You did feel the center of the ship though, two points close together towards the center of the massive ship itself.

"The ash girl can't expect that of me."

"The ash girl is you." Serge replied softly. "And your the ash girl. She represents a part of you. A part of your ideals. She knows you better than you know yourself. The fact that she's telling you to do this means that something deep down inside of you thinks that you can do this. Even if you don't believe in yourself the ash girl does. [Colin] (Chicago Umbral Port at 6 30 in the afternoon.)

Colin nodded, "Like I said, it would probably be fairly easy to get help either sewing the glued-together edges into place or get some magical help fusing the fabrics - but you are right, it's not the best thing to start with."

"That is true Mentor I could get help with sewing the clothes together but it is more fun to make what I can make myself."
Anna said and nodded.
"Gabriel only let me make ritual tools, which is fun but while I love magick it is fun to craft things just for the enjoyment of it sometimes as well."

He nodded, "It's a nasty one, yes. Best stay safe. It's not in all tropical countries, though - there's a vaccine warning for the countries affected by the disease."

"Do Brasil have it Mentor? I have been to Brasil once my Mentor had something to do there."
Your young apprentice asked.

He grinned broadly, "I knew you were brilliant the first time I saw you."

"I did manage to stop your spell."
Anna said and she grinned proudly.
"We should sparr with that sometimes Mentor. I did that in the Labyrinth, Gabriel had the others try to cast spells and I got a cookie for ever one I countered, I got allot of cookies."

He nodded, "Agreed. Much less unpleasant for everyone."

Udella gave a nod at that.
"Indeed, let us hope we can avoid trouble, but if we can not, we will end the trouble."
She declared.

He nodded, "Everything you know can be applied to something else. No knowledge is useful when kept isolated; I knew a toxicologist once; the things he didn't know about poisons weren't worth knowing. Now he's a chef, and the things he can do with spices, well... suffice to say, nothing he makes will kill you, barring an unexpected allergy, but he can push any meal to the limits of your comfort zone..."

"That is true and I guess it is a boon to know how to do allot of different things Mentor."
Anna said and nodded.
"At the end of the day being a mage is about changing the world according to our will, that be casting a fireball or making a good cup of tea, all of it is acting our wills on reality only the methods change."
The little girl said and nodded.

He nodded, "Let us make haste..."

Udella nodded and hurried after Anna.
"Poor kid the prospect of wherever the Caul send it's recruits are unplesant enough for the rest of us but for her it must be horrifying."
She wispered.

He helped Anna and Udella on board, guiding them to their seats and helping Anna with the seatbelt, "Quite ready - let me just get the hatch, and I'll join you in the cockpit."

Anna winced slightely as you put on her seatbelt. As you went for the hatch you heard Rodger, Anna and Udella introduce themselves to one another.

[Nicole] (On the road in Boston 5 30 in the afternoon.)

Nicole didn't see much due to driving, but what she did see made her smirk. 'Oh dear... should have used a pigeon, I think.' ending with a chuckle.

"I do think we have made some Top hats frustrated today."
Thorn said as he begun drawing symbols on his arms in his own blood to heal his cuts.

'We'll give them a nice tour of "parking lots of Massachusetts" before heading home.' she replied. 'There's a good chance we won't even see any Union people.'

"I hope you are right Miss."
James said and frowned.
"I hope neither you nor any of my former associates gets hurt today."

An audible sigh of relief on seeing the mall on the horizon. 'Get ready to run, Shade; we've gotta to make this quick.'

"I am ready...and in case there is no time to say so later Miss, thank you...thank you both for the help, if I ever have the chance to make it up to you guys I will."
James said and nodded. You got to the parking garage, it was not overfilled but there where quite a few cars her belonging to diners at the all's resturants probably. Cars stood in neat rows and at the end of the room where a door that lead to the mall itself.

[Adley] (Steelhaven 5 30 in the afternoon.)

"I hope so too."

Kyle gave you a smile and nodded.
"I will strive to be...a good person."
He promised.

"That's right."

"Yeah...we will do our best to stay alive for a long time."
The boy said happily.

"The only nonsensical thing you said was using the word 'thingie' as a descriptor for something so important..." he said with a perk of an eyebrow. "Don't worry, we'll talk about the correct terms but do yourself a favor and don't say it in front of our mentor unless you want a lecture."

"I guess thingie is not the right term for someone that important but I do not know what to call her, she is always there, I do not always see her but I sort of feel her with me...as for our Mentor he do seam to enjoy going into lecture mode at times."
Kyle said and smiled.
"What do I call that woman? My Gift like my dad call his talent for magic?"

[Serge] (Steelhaven at 5 30 in the afternoon.)

Serge frowned as he tried to avoid looking at the computer screen. "What happened in the past doesn't have to define who you are in the present. If you keep thinking about that women than she'll always be there in your memories holding you down."

"But I can't stop thinking about her, what she did...I can not stop thinking about it!"
Bernard wept and th screens got brigther with their foul images while the room got darker around the two of you.

Serge looked down at his empty plate of spaghetti and said, "How about we talk about something else. What else do you remember about your mother? Did she have any other dishes that you enjoyed eating?"

The room grew brither as you asked about Bernard's mother.
"She is a great cook...I mean she make all sort of dishes, pies, this amazing soup with meat and noddles, meatloaf, all sort of things and she bakes these great cookis, all crispy on the outside and realy moist and nice on the inside."
He said and smiled.

And as a matter of fact, so do I."

"But I...going outside is terrifying. I do not want to face what happened. I do not want it to have happened."
Bernard replied and he looked down.
"But I guess that if the ash girl is me and she think I can do it then I could try but...I am coming right back here afterwards."
He hesitently agreed.

(OOC: And I am back, sorry for the delay I. Bloody train, but I guess when there is a fire it is better they stop the train and deal with it. Razz)

More Clean Up, New Apprentices and Helping an Union Man IC Thread 28 - Page 14 Empty Re: More Clean Up, New Apprentices and Helping an Union Man IC Thread 28

[Chicago Umbral Port, 6:30 PM]
"That is true Mentor I could get help with sewing the clothes together but it is more fun to make what I can make myself."
Anna said and nodded.
"Gabriel only let me make ritual tools, which is fun but while I love magick it is fun to craft things just for the enjoyment of it sometimes as well."
Colin nodded, "Crafting your own ritual tools is useful, obviously, but it is when you craft for the sake of crafting that you truly improve your skill quickly. It is through the making of quantity that you gain quality; Gabriel should have been aware of that."

"Do Brasil have it Mentor? I have been to Brasil once my Mentor had something to do there."
Your young apprentice asked.
He pondered for a moment, "Bugger if I know, actually; I think it's mostly contained to the Middle East and southern Asia... but if travel abroad comes up, I will check the WHO lists."

"I did manage to stop your spell."
Anna said and she grinned proudly.
"We should sparr with that sometimes Mentor. I did that in the Labyrinth, Gabriel had the others try to cast spells and I got a cookie for ever one I countered, I got allot of cookies."
He grinned, "Well, I do have a few dueling scenarios I mean to put you through once you are well enough - there's a chap visiting Steelhaven right now, a Linear Mage, very good at countermagic. I would like to see which of the two of you can shut down the other completely first... I will have to ask him, of course, but if he is willing, it should be an interesting match."

He grinned and patted her on the head, "You have wisdom well beyond your years, sweetie."

Udella nodded and hurried after Anna.
"Poor kid the prospect of wherever the Caul send it's recruits are unplesant enough for the rest of us but for her it must be horrifying."
She wispered.
He nodded, whispering back, "Been there, done that... I came out of the Boston Caul unharmed, if not unchanged, but I don't know if I could have survived the fateful trip the Mary's Serafina took... No Fallen likes to think of their time in the Caul; I might be the only Mage in the world who finds it to be only my second most painful memory..."

Anna winced slightely as you put on her seatbelt. As you went for the hatch you heard Rodger, Anna and Udella introduce themselves to one another.
He double-checked the immediate surroundings, then shut the hatch firmly and made his way back, "Right, everything seems clear for departure, Mr. Tasselwell. I heard you've already met my daughter Anna, and my lawyer, Master Adimari..."

((OOC: There's little surprise these things happen. The rail line is over a century old, and the maintenance backlog is several decades long; the whole damn thing should have been completely replaced twenty years ago. No help in buying faster trains, when the rails require the trains to slow down instead. :/ Suffice it to say there's a very good reason I fly when I am going to the Oslo area...))
