I GMed for my D&D group today and I am pretty tired so I think I will have to wait with replying to the IC thread tomorrow as I am not sure I can consentrate on writing a long IC post right now.
Re: Away Thread
I will be slow to respond today as I will be in a car all day going home from a visit at my mother's place. I will respond to any posts when I get home.
Re: Away Thread
I'm moving tomorrow [Monday] so I don't know when I'll have the time to post again. Could be Tuesday, could be sometime in the weekend.

Re: Away Thread
And finally, sorted out computer and using a internet dongle in NewFlat. Still have so much to sort out, but at least I'm here - took a whole day to get the electricity reconnected and the gas isn't until tomorrow [apparently]. This is has been way stressful and much more than it should have been.
I'll try to reply either today or tomorrow.

Is gas really that good to have?
I mean, if you only have a gas stove, I suppose it would be, but... is it really all that good? Coming from a basically all-electric country, I wouldn't know...

Re: Away Thread
In the UK, that's similar to asking 'is Windows a good OS to have?' Unless you're in a rural area and off the gas grid [some 10%], you'll have gas unless your house is wierd. In this case, you're lucky because OldFlat did have electric heating. My answer is; if you go 'like with like', gas is cheaper to run [well, traditionally] but more expensive to install. NewFlat is less than 10 years old and well-rated for efficiency, while OldFlat was from the 70s and was shit [which is why I left, it's being demolished].
The reason we use gas is easy; 'technological dependence'. The UK used coal gas before we got electricity, so by the time natural gas came along we had all this infrastructure, appliances which could be switched over.
