[Nicole's Apartment]

"You are right, I know this, and I will not tell you not to do it Nicole. I know it have to be done but I still worry. Send me a message when it is done and you are safe okey?"
Baynes replied still sounding nervous, this day where not easy on his easily upset nerves, the man like peace and quiet to work and not to many sudden things happening around him.
"I will see what more I can dig up from here."

[Colin's Room]

Anja wrote:"Indeed you want to experience a real knife fight, and I will give you one. No child the reason why I offered to spar with you is that I want to see how much of your words are immature boasts and dreams and how much is real, you are in my apprentice's Cabal one day her life might depend on you and I want to know what you can do."
Amadeus said plainly he had never been one for diplomacy.
"But I will treat it like any other sparring match holding nothing back save actually killing you and we will see what you got."

"Very well. I accepted already and I'm just as curious as you are to see what happens. I have a few more questions but those can wait until later. " Serge said evenly, although for the first time since accepting the offer he looked a bit nervous.

[Spirit Shenanigans]

Anja wrote:"This is correct child, every belief holds power and the stronger the belief the stronger the power, often we therefore get several versions if you will of a given entity. Thor as believed in by the old Norse for example and Thor as seen by Marvel or for that matter Thor the hobby Nazi mascot though I do not advocate for contacting that last one."
George said with a frown at the last bit.

"Have you ever met spirits like that? Ones generated by popular culture. I've always been curious about those spirit." Serge asked the Primus.

[Casa Wainwright]
Anja wrote:"There are witnesses that he is entering into this sparring match of his own free will."
Amadeus said.
"As for his Mentor, the kid is released is he not? I bet she will have full understanding at at times he will just have to be allowed to stand for his own words."
Colin sighed and nodded, "Well, true, the Cult is very strong on personal responsibility, after all... Still, the teacher-student bond is a strong one, and she might find it a little hard to let go so quickly. Well... we'll see after tomorrow, I guess."

Jeremy wrote:"Don't worry, you'll be fine. She'll probably strangle me to death if she learns about this. I'm the one who accepted the Master Nassa's offer." Serge said looking at his phone clock, "Speaking of Ange, I have a meeting with her at noon. Hope I don't have to bring this up."
Anja wrote:"I bet she is going to figure it out Serge, you Mentor is good at figuring things out."
Kyle said. The time was 10:45.
Jeremy wrote:"I mean, it's not like I'll hide it from her if she asks. So she'll probably know eventually." Serge said with a shrug.
Anja wrote:"There is a good chance she will yes."
Kyle said and nodded.
"She is a smart lady."
He smiled wryly, "She'll see you're hiding something before five seconds are up. How long can you refrain from telling her, Serge? She'll not use magic to get the story out, but I really don't think she needs to..."

Anja wrote:"I will have a healing spell hung and ready to go if he needs aid quickly."
Amadeus said.
"And he will not pass out after eight seconds, I will aim for places that...teach a lesson other than just take him out and he wake up healed not really realizing the cost."
Jeremy wrote:"As fun as it is to talk about how much your gonna stab me, let's make sure we're on the same page. The main purpose of the duel is to test my rote in a combat scenario right? That's why you offered to duel me in the first place right? The 'teaching me about real combat scenarios' is a side lesson right?" Serge asked.
Jeremy wrote:"Very well. I accepted already and I'm just as curious as you are to see what happens. I have a few more questions but those can wait until later. " Serge said evenly, although for the first time since accepting the offer he looked a bit nervous.
He nodded, giving Serge a wry smile, "Fair point, Sir. I guess our young friend will learn the true meaning of the unofficial motto of the SAS, then - if you ever find yourself in a fair fight, you've already made a mistake."

Anja wrote:"This is true Mr Wainwright, it is always easier to affect someone in ways they agree to and read out what is offered rather than what is held back."
Amadeus said.
"There should be a clear different between the skills Dr Lee is willing to share and which he is not."
Jeremy wrote:"It's a little bit more nuanced than that. But that's the general gist of things. Dark secrets are hidden deeper in the psyche than surface thoughts." Serge said nodding.
He smiled wryly, "And when you know that your mind is about to get violated, it can be beneficial to concentrate on exactly what you wish to share in that moment... poor Siege learned that all too well, at least..."

Jeremy wrote:"We all have to get hurt eventually. I'm just lucky that I can experience it in a safe setting." Serge said giving her a reassuring look.
Anja wrote:"Yes but you are choosing a pretty extreme version there are a reason why I give my apprentices a..."
Amadeus glanced at Anna and chose his words carefully.
"Less extreme method to draw their own blood than just giving them a sickle and tell them to start cutting for the first spell they do."
He commented wryly.
He gave Amadeus a grateful nod for his discretion, "There are certainly far better ways to prepare for getting hurt. In fact, I'd be greatly surprised if there weren't some readily available tricks of the mind to put the sense of pain aside for a period of time, so you can fight at full capacity, even if badly wounded..."

Anja wrote:"Yeah but the university hospital still hold kids down as a standard practice under blood tests unless the parents protest."
Anna said and frowned.
"And what if the kids can not be talked into cooperating?"
He sighed, "Most of the time, kids can be talked into cooperating, once they get a proper explanation for why they need a given treatment. But if they can't, there's usually a very good reason for it, and that should be given the time to investigate. The standard practice is, well... a sign of the Union's grip on the world, I'm afraid - callous, mechanically efficient, and completely dismissive of the individual's comfort or happiness... We'll obviously have our work cut out for us in the long term."

S7trif3 wrote:He shrugged. "I would hazard to guess that any attempt to 'chaperone' her will be met with anger, but maybe a talk will help, if anyone can talk to her about it, you can."
He nodded, "I can certainly try. And I would avoid the term 'chaperone', I think. I will think of something."

Anja wrote:"Ah lovely lovely though I prefer warmer treats."
The Deaconess said clearly not understanding the talk about investments.
"I am afraid I do not have much available cash to spend on such endeavors."
Amadeus said. Narim turned and regarded Colin for a moment.
"Ehm...why are we investing in a ice cream shop, I get that it might be a nice place but we do you want us to get involved directly Mr Wainwright?"
He smiled to Narim, "It's something we might want to consider in the future - the shop was founded to spread a little joy and happiness, as opposed to the more soulless corporate franchises that merely trade in products. It would be a chance to offer a little subtle resistance against the Union, in a small way. Who knows what such a small seed might bloom into?"

Anja wrote:"Good good...it will be nice."
Mara said and smiled.
"We will have tea, and cookies, I do like cookies."
He nodded, "I should be able to meet any preference for tea."

[A Spirited Rebuttal]
S7trif3 wrote:"There you go again, always rocking Thibault," he returned.
He grinned, "Well, Thibault is..." He paused for a moment, "You know, we just might be speaking of different Thibaults and Agrippas, come to think of it..."

Anja wrote:"A gesture of greeting...he looks very enthusiastic...the owl...yes, he is the one you have befriended, his soul reborn in the bird's body, his life as a dog was a good one until he got sick, though I do not know if he remembers it."
Engrave said scraping his blades together impatiently waiting to get back to his task.
He nodded thoughtfully, "I should pass that odd knowledge along, then, I think... And yes, my young friend is enthusiastic. Very much so."

Anja wrote:"I will do so."
Engrave said and he started writing on the floor with his claws. George sigh.
"Ah well I guess the floor needed to be polished again anyway."
He smiled apologetically, "He is what he is, and I had to think quickly when I offered him his name. It suits him, though; he's a magnificent chronicler. He is, in fact, the one who inscribed the backs of all the memorial plaques I made, where the highlights of the individual lives are recorded."

S7trif3 wrote:He nodded at Colin. "Sir, amicus, Neaniskos..."
Jeremy wrote:"Do we need to stop using names in general or can we use fake names?" Serge asked curiously.
Anja wrote:"There is little purpose in fake names any name that you identify enough with to function as a moniker is a way for a spirit to reach you."
George said.
"So it is best not to use the."
He nodded, "An honorific would be best; something that does not signify a unique individual in any way."

Jeremy wrote:"Damn. He looks a lot cooler than I thought. He can hear me right? Hello Colin's Spirit friend." he said waving at the spirit once again.
Anja wrote:"I have no temperature it is not a part of my nature, I chronicle history and yes I can hear you enthusiastic human with what I can't touch inside."
Engrave said as he turned to regard the young mage then he went back to writing on the floor.
Jeremy wrote:"I knew you were going to say something like that." Serge said with a smile before letting the spirit get on with his work.
Anja wrote:"See I knew you where a smart lad."
George said and grinned.
He bit back a chuckle, "Human language is funny and ambiguous, my friend... Many words with multiple meanings..."

S7trif3 wrote:"Yes, sir." Time was ticking and he had to go get his sister - or arrange for someone trustworthy to get them if things kept happening.
Anja wrote:"There will be time for you to fulfill your Mentor's request, time will allow for it Sodales."
George said seaming to know what you where worried about. Then he got into position within the summoning circle and waited for the two other magi to do the same.
He nodded and glanced at George, stepping into the circle, "Sir, where would you have us positioned? Or are the cardinal directions unimportant for this?"

"I'm not going to hide anything from her. We share everything with each other.  If she asks what going on in the chantry, the duel will be the second or third thing I say. And that's only cause the spirit attack and Master Nassa's book illustrations came first."

Colin wrote:He nodded, giving Serge a wry smile, "Fair point, Sir. I guess our young friend will learn the true meaning of the unofficial motto of the SAS, then - if you ever find yourself in a fair fight, you've already made a mistake."

[Colin's Room]

"Very well. I accepted already and I'm just as curious as you are to see what happens. I have a few more questions but those can wait until later. " Serge said evenly, although for the first time since accepting the offer he looked a bit nervous.

"Feel free to drop by my room later Mr Yager with any questions you might have."
Amadeus said and nodded pretending he did not see your nervousness.

Colin sighed and nodded, "Well, true, the Cult is very strong on personal responsibility, after all... Still, the teacher-student bond is a strong one, and she might find it a little hard to let go so quickly. Well... we'll see after tomorrow, I guess."

"Yes we will have to see and his Mentor might be upset, but Mr Yager is an adult and he have made his decision and I am taking him up on his words."
The old Verbena said calmly.

He nodded, giving Serge a wry smile, "Fair point, Sir. I guess our young friend will learn the true meaning of the unofficial motto of the SAS, then - if you ever find yourself in a fair fight, you've already made a mistake."

"Well hopefully his spell is as good as he claim and he is able to give me a run for my money, I will not be satisfied if he do not manage to cut me at least once and give me a challenge."
Amadeus said but it was clear he had his doubts.

He smiled wryly, "And when you know that your mind is about to get violated, it can be beneficial to concentrate on exactly what you wish to share in that moment... poor Siege learned that all too well, at least..."

"Yeah that was in this X-Men story I read, basically some mercenaries where breaking into the X mansion and then Xavior came out to clean things up, however they had been doing nothing but watching 70's porn for months and only focused on that so that was all he saw in their minds."
Kyle said and chuckle.
"That was a cool story."

"I do have a rote like that. Remember, I mentioned it during the cabal meeting. I normally use it to get rid of all thoughts of exhaustion or hunger so I can work without those annoying distraction. "But I doubt Master Nassa will let me use that. And even if he does it probably won't be help. As much as I ignore pain it's effects will still ravage my body."

"The only reason I would not allow such a spell used Mr Yeager is that it is extremely dangerous. There are indeed many ways to use magick to prevent oneel from feeling pain, however remember pain are the warning system of the body, the only times I have used such rotes in combat is when it don't matter if I live or die only victory matter and I need to make one last ditch effort. For sparring you need that warning system. Also it is always better to learn to handle pain, than to flee from it."
Amadeus said and Kyle nodded.
"You know Danielle is unable to feel pain, and she gets into dangerous situations at times because she don't have that warning system at all."
He said.

"You know you can work on changing that practice Anna, there are times when efficiency have been calued over human concerns, perhaps you can work to change that."
Beatrice said and smiled.
"But you also have to know that your Mentor would never let anyone harm you or do anything to you that you don't want done. Yes there are to much force used against children in medicine but you are not in danger of that."
The Verbena continued and Anna looked down.
"Yeah I guess...and I guess I could do something but I don't now what."

"Well it is certainly a good thing to want to spread joy...let us discuss it when there is time for it."
Narim said hesitantly but he did not sound completely convinced.

He nodded, "I should be able to meet any preference for tea."

"Ah lovey...I do like the sweet flowery ones."
The Deaconess said and smiled before she joyfully left your apartment.

"Well this fight is as unfair as can be so I guess it's not a mistake." Serge said with a chuckle.

"If you no longer think your rote can win out over actual experience why are you doing this Mr Yager?"
Amadeus asked and he fixed Serge with his blue stare.

[Spirit Shenanigans]

"Have you ever met spirits like that? Ones generated by popular culture. I've always been curious about those spirit." Serge asked the Primus.

"I have met a few of them yes Mr Yager, they can be interesting beings indeed."
George said and nodded.

He nodded thoughtfully, "I should pass that odd knowledge along, then, I think... And yes, my young friend is enthusiastic. Very much so."

Engrave just nodded at that.

He smiled apologetically, "He is what he is, and I had to think quickly when I offered him his name. It suits him, though; he's a magnificent chronicler. He is, in fact, the one who inscribed the backs of all the memorial plaques I made, where the highlights of the individual lives are recorded."

"Ah yes those plaques are quite nice indeed and don't worry about the floor I will take care of it when we are done here."
George said and smiled.
"He is what he is."

He nodded, "An honorific would be best; something that does not signify a unique individual in any way."

"This is true, a honorific would be best for as long as we are working with these spirits."
The Primus agreed.

He bit back a chuckle, "Human language is funny and ambiguous, my friend... Many words with multiple meanings..."

"I do not understand."
Engrame said sounding rather confused.
"What do he want me to record."

He nodded and glanced at George, stepping into the circle, "Sir, where would you have us positioned? Or are the cardinal directions unimportant for this?"

"No we will place ourself in a triangle position, I do not think using cardinal directions will be needed."
The ancient magus said.
"Right over there is fine Mr Wainwright."

He glanced over at him sheepishly at the Primus and nodded. "Well, that is some good news then. Still, with all that's...ah, gone on I wanted to make sure things were alright." As Colin asked where they should start, he waited as well, in case they were adopting some changes so that he could participate.

"I find that usually there is always time young man."
George said before he pointed to indicate your position and then started the rite. Both of you felt the massive flow of power from the ancient mage as you assisted with his ritual, George chanted in Greek in a clear commanding tone while going over simple, more universal gestures that Colin as well could follow rather than specifically Hermetic ones. As an Emperor before his people the old mage demanded the presence of the time spirit.
"Nameless one lost in a sea of confusion and nothingness, wretched creature forced to attack us, attack a child that will be a young couragous woman. Being I banished who still carry my energy in his soul appear before me, appear and answer for your actions, you will heed my commands and you will answer!"
There was a short pause and then in the middle of the triangle drawn outside the circle itself appeared the strange spirit with a form that could not be described and which hurt to look at.
"I have come..."
It's non voice said. George nodded.
"You will not attack any of us and you will answer all question us four ask of you truthfully."
The old mage commanded, the spirit looked around, clearly looking for a way to escape. George made a gesture to indicate that the three of you could talk to the spirit now, it was well contained.

[Nicole's Apartment]

'With any luck, the message will say much more than "success".' Nicole replied, finally locating her overalls under a plate of something. 'And good luck on your end.'

"Thank you and yeah I hope so as well. I will talk with you later then Nicole."
Beynes said before handing up.

(OOC: Sorry for the late reply I overslept today.)

Anja wrote:"Yes we will have to see and his Mentor might be upset, but Mr Yager is an adult and he have made his decision and I am taking him up on his words."
The old Verbena said calmly.
Colin sighed, "Well, can't help being concerned for the little guy, I guess."

He grinned, "Well, there's an honest truth... Wait..." He arched an eyebrow at Amadeus, "Illustrations? Ah, not my business, I'm sure - though it does sound intriguing."

Anja wrote:"Well hopefully his spell is as good as he claim and he is able to give me a run for my money, I will not be satisfied if he do not manage to cut me at least once and give me a challenge."
Amadeus said but it was clear he had his doubts.
Jeremy wrote:"Well this fight is as unfair as can be so I guess it's not a mistake." Serge said with a chuckle.
Anja wrote:"If you no longer think your rote can win out over actual experience why are you doing this Mr Yager?"
Amadeus asked and he fixed Serge with his blue stare.
He smiled wryly, "He's eager to see how close to the original's prowess he can get, I think... and he's not the sort to back out of anything, I think. There's a knightly nobility to that, at least, if not particularly wise..."
He thought for a moment, "Actually, I'm willing to make a small wager... without scrying on the future. I'll put five dollars that Serge will score two hits, at least one of which will be more of a fluke than a deliberate attack. No more, no less. No hit location restrictions, and the hits will not be particularly serious injuries."

Anja wrote:"Yeah that was in this X-Men story I read, basically some mercenaries where breaking into the X mansion and then Xavior came out to clean things up, however they had been doing nothing but watching 70's porn for months and only focused on that so that was all he saw in their minds."
Kyle said and chuckle.
"That was a cool story."
Jeremy wrote:"That was a really clever trick." Serge said with a smile.
He nodded darkly, "It was... efficient. I knew what he feared the most, and could present... precisely that. It was... not something anyone should experience."

Jeremy wrote:"I do have a rote like that. Remember, I mentioned it during the cabal meeting. I normally use it to get rid of all thoughts of exhaustion or hunger so I can work without those annoying distraction. But I can use it to get rid of all sense of pain as well. "You know Danielle is unable to feel pain, and she gets into dangerous situations at times because she don't have that warning system at all."
He said.
He nodded, "There's a hereditary disease, quite commonplace in one Jewish tribe, I believe... The sufferers don't feel pain, at all. Most die from untreated injuries and infections at too early an age, if I recall correctly. There are other variants of it, and the same problem is one of the symptoms of leprosy - the lack of pain sensitivity causes surprising amputations and subsequent blood loss..."

Anja wrote:"You know you can work on changing that practice Anna, there are times when efficiency have been calued over human concerns, perhaps you can work to change that."
He nodded, "Not knowing right now is fine. That just means you have to figure out how to research the subject. Discussing the issues with doctors, nurses, parents and children would be a good start, for example."

Anja wrote:"Well it is certainly a good thing to want to spread joy...let us discuss it when there is time for it."
Narim said hesitantly but he did not sound completely convinced.
He nodded, "I'll jot down a few ideas later; today is not the day for it, anyway."

Anja wrote:"Ah lovey...I do like the sweet flowery ones."
The Deaconess said and smiled before she joyfully left your apartment.
He nodded, "Jasmine tea, then, perhaps?"

[A Spirited Rebuttal]
S7trif3 wrote:"Quite possibly. But I was trying for a pun. I'm not as good at them as you are."
He grinned, "And I didn't catch it at once. Good work. Just remember that it's not the size of Thibault..."

Anja wrote:"I do not understand."
Engrame said sounding rather confused.
"What do he want me to record."
He shrugged, "I'm not sure he knows, himself - but he might ask after we are done with what we need to do here."

S7trif3 wrote:He glanced over at him sheepishly at the Primus and nodded. "Well, that is some good news then. Still, with all that's...ah, gone on I wanted to make sure things were alright." As Colin asked where they should start, he waited as well, in case they were adopting some changes so that he could participate.
Anja wrote:"No we will place ourself in a triangle position, I do not think using cardinal directions will be needed."
The ancient magus said.
"Right over there is fine Mr Wainwright."
He nodded and took the indicated spot in the circle, noting his on and Adley's exact equidistant locations from George, "Very good, Adley, that should put your feet on either side of the right line from the point there," he gestured to one of the star's points.

Anja wrote:"I find that usually there is always time young man."

He followed the gestures, and waited for George's go-ahead, then nodded to the spirit, "We did not bring you here with the intent of harming you, but rather to help restore your Name, if possible... Do you know the point in the endless Here and Now when your Name was stolen, and the woman who did it?"

[Casa Wainwright]

Colin sighed, "Well, can't help being concerned for the little guy, I guess."

"No that is quite understandable but I will make sure he gets out of this alive and wiser."
Amadeus said simply.

He grinned, "Well, there's an honest truth... Wait..." He arched an eyebrow at Amadeus, "Illustrations? Ah, not my business, I'm sure - though it does sound intriguing."

"Oh it is nothing secret Mr Wainwright. I am writing a book on Umbral plants and I have hired Mr Yager to illustrate it for me."
The old Verbena explained.

Amadeus nodded at that.
"Very well, I will bet he can manage to get one hit in, five dollars, if it go down exactly as you say then I will buy you both a beer in addition."
He said sounding amused.

He nodded darkly, "It was... efficient. I knew what he feared the most, and could present... precisely that. It was... not something anyone should experience."

"You have actually done this Mr Wainwright?"
Kyle asked sounding impressed.
"Was this when that Nephandus with the Phylactery started making a mess in the basement? What did you show him?"

"It can happen yes and children with such an illness need to be watched at all times since otherwise they get themselves hurt."
Amadeus said and nodded.
"You have seen that rather ehm...voluminous young woman with the very pale skin that have visited Dr Lee lately?"
He asked, and yes you had seen the woman, Steelhaven where getting a tidy extra bit of income now that it had an infirmary when mages needed medical attention for things that could not just be healed. You believe the women in question was named Melanie Briar and she lived at one of the Chantries located in the neighboring towns which was a part of Boston Tribunal.
"She told me she have lost sensation in her skin due to advanced Jhor, and that she constantly injure herself since she don't feel injuries before they have reached deeper. Being insensitive to pain is not a good thing."

He nodded, "Not knowing right now is fine. That just means you have to figure out how to research the subject. Discussing the issues with doctors, nurses, parents and children would be a good start, for example."

Anna looked down and nodded.
"Yeah...I will do that...I will talk with people and figure out why they do what they do, and how one can change it so that it is not done anymore."
She muttered.

He nodded, "I'll jot down a few ideas later; today is not the day for it, anyway."

Narim nodded at that.
"Very well we can then discuss it at a better time."

He nodded, "Jasmine tea, then, perhaps?"

"Jasmine ah yes most wonderful, it have such a happy fragrance."
The Deaconess said and she smiled happily.

[A Spirited Rebuttal]

He shrugged, "I'm not sure he knows, himself - but he might ask after we are done with what we need to do here."

"I learned to talk in sounds but I am chronicling, I write things down."
The spirit said.
"What do he want me to chronicle?"

He followed the gestures, and waited for George's go-ahead, then nodded to the spirit, "We did not bring you here with the intent of harming you, but rather to help restore your Name, if possible... Do you know the point in the endless Here and Now when your Name was stolen, and the woman who did it?"

"Why would you want to help me, I hear humans hate those who would attack them."
The spirit's non voice said.
"Yes I know the point. I do not know her name but she is one like you with what I can't touch inside, she spoke my name and took it."
The spirit said sadly.

[Colin's Room]

Anja wrote:"Feel free to drop by my room later Mr Yager with any questions you might have."
Amadeus said and nodded pretending he did not see your nervousness.

"Sure thing." Serge said with a nod

Colin wrote:He grinned, "Well, there's an honest truth... Wait..." He arched an eyebrow at Amadeus, "Illustrations? Ah, not my business, I'm sure - though it does sound intriguing."
Anja wrote:"Oh it is nothing secret Mr Wainwright. I am writing a book on Umbral plants and I have hired Mr Yager to illustrate it for me."
The old Verbena explained.

"It's cool. I get to have my name in a book." Serge said with a grin.

Anja wrote:"Well hopefully his spell is as good as he claim and he is able to give me a run for my money, I will not be satisfied if he do not manage to cut me at least once and give me a challenge."
Amadeus said but it was clear he had his doubts.

"I really recommend you lower your expectations a bit." Serge said with a chuckle.

Anja wrote:"The only reason I would not allow such a spell used Mr Yeager is that it is extremely dangerous.
He said.
Colin wrote:He nodded, "There's a hereditary disease, quite commonplace in one Jewish tribe, I believe... The sufferers don't feel pain, at all. Yeah, I remember seeing her. Didn't know she had that disease though." Serge said looking surprised. "I just know that story of that one girl with the disease. She dropped a spoon into a pot of water and the  fished it out like it was nothing. Only after her hands started blistering did she realized she had stuck her hand into a pot of boiling water."

Anja wrote:"If you no longer think your rote can win out over actual experience why are you doing this Mr Yager?"
Amadeus asked and he fixed Serge with his blue stare.
Colin wrote:He smiled wryly, "He's eager to see how close to the original's prowess he can get, I think... and he's not the sort to back out of anything, I think. There's a knightly nobility to that, at least, if not particularly wise..."

"I never once said that I could beat you. Or someone with real experience. I'm pretty sure I agreed with you when you brought the point up." Serge said with a raised eyebrow. "Other than that Mr. Wainwrights completely right. I'm just curious to see how close I can get. I almost never get a chance to try out my magick so I'll take any chance I can get.  You wanna teach me a lesson but I just wanna see what I can do on the rote."

Colin wrote:He thought for a moment, "Actually, I'm willing to make a small wager... without scrying on the future. "It's cool. I get to have my name in a book." Serge said with a grin.

"Be that as it may I will off course compensate you for your work as well Mr Yager."
Amadeus said and smiled.

"I really recommend you lower your expectations a bit." Serge said with a chuckle.

"I hear from my apprentice that she have every faith in your abilities child and you are a talented mentalist, so we shall see."
The old Verbena said.

"Well with the woman visiting Dr Lee her issue comes fro Jhor not from a genetic illness but yes she have that problem. As for the woman with the spoon, we are instinctively afraid of pain and so pause when something might hurt, it takes allot of training to overcome that response so without pain and the fear of pain things like that can happen."
The healer said in a serious tone of voice.

"That is a fair enough response."
Amadeus said and nodded.

"You both are gonna be so disappointed." Serge said shaking his head. "I bet I'll get no hits in, despite my best efforts."

"So if you get no hits in you have to buy us beers then kid?"
The Verbena said sounding amused.

"Yes I saw her. She looks like 337 years in the past to 156 years in the future though there is some chance it will be longer and some chance it will only be weeks."
The spirit replied.

Now dressed in her work overalls and steel-capped boots, Nicole went over to quickly eat her meal before heading down to the garage...

[Don't really want another NPC scene; I left it like that for a) if Adley was going to call or b) an NPC popped in [for example, if Nicole's run further ahead time-wise than the other PC's.]]

You got to the garage, Miles and Ty where waiting for you there, talking together. Ty inclined his head politely when he saw you and Devon waved his hand.
"Hey Nicole, ehm will these do?"
He asked and handed you two very authentic looking police badges.

Anja's Post:

Before leaving her apartment, Nicole did a double-check, ensuring that the minimum of skin was exposed. Grabbed a pair of work gloves too, to lessen any chances of being jabbed. Finally, transferred her pocket pistol from her back to her greatcoat's pocket, then grabbed her pepper spray and put it in her other pocket.

On seeing the pair, she gave a nod in greeting. 'Hmm... good job. Once we're done with 'em, remember to turn them into the Chief, yeah? Gonna start building up a store of stuff like this, so we won't have to re-make them again.'

'I've got a pair of cuffs; one normal, one special.' holding them out. 'What are you packing? And you aware of the plan?' looking to Ty.

He nodded and took the indicated spot in the circle, noting his on and Adley's exact equidistant locations from George, "Very good, Adley, that should put your feet on either side of the right line from the point there," he gestured to one of the star's points.

"Very well," he said, with a raised eyebrow at Colin. He knew what a triangle was, after all. He took up the indicated spot and waited. He watched the Primus as he started manuevering and made to assist once he knew what sort of gestures he was using. Unlike last time, though he didn't try to speak anything, since he wasn't sure what the Primus was going to say - just what he said in Greek as he spoke, commanding the spirit to appear. If he'd have tried that it would be less than another student demanding someone show up at the principal's office, at best case he would have been ignored. He listened to the first parts of the questioning. Colin's question got a bit of traction, Serge's first was confusing but his follow up one was better, and the clarifying one...well, he waited to see how the spirit would answer before asking the spirit, "This woman you said has that which you cannot touch inside. Tell me, do you know if that which you cannot touch is one of the 'Dark Ones'? I have heard other spirits describe some of us that way, different than those you see standing before you..."

On seeing the pair, she gave a nod in greeting. 'Hmm... good job. Once we're done with 'em, remember to turn them into the Chief, yeah? Gonna start building up a store of stuff like this, so we won't have to re-make them again.'

"It is not a big problem to make them since I have a matter converter, I made them from leftover lasagne, anything without much movable part is easy enough but I will do so."
Devon said and he took one badge for himself and handed the other to Ty.

I've got a pair of cuffs; one normal, one special.' holding them out. 'What are you packing? And you aware of the plan?' looking to Ty.

The two other mages nodded and took one pair each since they where playing the civilian police.
"A Sig Sauer P320 and yes the way I have been told someone is infecting those with cybernetics with something, we think one of them are trying to get a you through your work, we play civilian police out to get a stalker so if he makes a move on you we ehm...arrest him and haul him off to where he can be interrogated and your sleeper boss is left non the wiser?"
Ty told you.
"Reasonably correct?"

[Colin's Room]

"That orange juice will taste so sweet." Serge said with a smile.

Amadeus chuckle at that.
"I will make sure it is fresh pressed."

"Yes, what other ways are there?"
The spirit said, it's non voice sounding completely confused.

"This woman you said has that which you cannot touch inside. Tell me, do you know if that which you cannot touch is one of the 'Dark Ones'? I have heard other spirits describe some of us that way, different than those you see standing before you..."

"No not yet not at this point in time but such a darkening will come in what you call the future, the woman with what I can't touch inside will be darker than she is and she is darker than she was."
The Umbrood said.
"She can destroy even in my Domain."

'...oh, I need a package of something, as I'm supposedly coming back from getting a part.' moving a step towards the workshop to get something, then halted. 'Fuck. Forgot to get that anti-jab mojo. Bear with me for a moment...' moving back to run to the Deacon's office. 'And find me a random package to go to work with!' looking to Miles.

[If Adley hurries up, he could catch her while digging out the Verbena Deacon for the anti-jab spell. Or he could ring her while she's driving to work]

[Can't remember the Deacon's name or location, Great One... *shakes fist at feeble brain*]

[Garage]

Easy for you. But what about the times you are busy or not here?' Nicole replied.

"You do have a good point."
The other Etherite agreed.
"I will give the badges to the Chief when we are done."

Yep. I'm packing too and can handle myself. Drive to the place, you hang back out of sight, come a'running in when I holler the code word which is... Sand.' Nicole replied. 'Is that everything...' patting down her pockets.

Ty nodded at that.
"Sounds like a fair enough plan."
He said.
"Sand eh."
He said then he looked at you a bit confused when you headed of. Miles nodded.
"Sure I will take care of it."

You got to Amadeus Nassa's door and knocked on his door, soon a tall, thin man with long blond hair in a ponytail opened the door, you could smell herbs and incense from inside of his apartment and his flowing tunic fit well with his old hippie image.
"Ah Miss Bouchard, how may I help you?"
The old Verbena asked looking a bit surprised to see you.

(OOC: Amadeus Nassa he is Beatrice's Mentor and is a Verbena Master. He is also Bianca's former Mentor before he gave up trying to Awaken her and got her a hedge witch teacher instead.)

Anja's Post:

'Morning, sir. I need your help, and don't have much time to explain...' she replied, clearly having run to see him.

[Casa Wainwright]
Anja wrote:"Oh it is nothing secret Mr Wainwright. I am writing a book on Umbral plants and I have hired Mr Yager to illustrate it for me."
The old Verbena explained.
Jeremy wrote:"It's cool. I get to have my name in a book." Serge said with a grin.
Anja wrote:"Be that as it may I will off course compensate you for your work as well Mr Yager."
Amadeus said and smiled.
Jeremy wrote:"Yeah yeah yeah. Money is cool too." Serge said nonchalantly, obviously not caring about the money. "But my name in a book! It'll say somewhere, 'Illustrated by Serge Yager'. People will see my name and be like...well actually they probably won't care but just it being in the book is cool."
Anja wrote:Amadeus smiled a little.
"I am sure those who read the book will take notice of your drawings child."
Colin pondered, then smiled, "Well, that'll make a fine gift for Anna when it's out. Could you sign me up for a copy?"

Jeremy wrote:"I really recommend you lower your expectations a bit." Serge said with a chuckle.
Anja wrote:"I hear from my apprentice that she have every faith in your abilities child and you are a talented mentalist, so we shall see."
The old Verbena said.
Jeremy wrote:"You and me both." Serge said with a nod.
Anja wrote:The old Verbena just gave a slight smile at that.
He nodded, "I agree, highly talented."

Jeremy wrote:"I never once said that I could beat you.
Anja wrote:"That is a fair enough response."
Amadeus said and nodded.
He smiled thinly, "Hell of a way to test your limits, though..."

Anja wrote:Amadeus nodded at that.
"Very well, I will bet he can manage to get one hit in, five dollars, if it go down exactly as you say then I will buy you both a beer in addition."
He said sounding amused.
Jeremy wrote:"You both are gonna be so disappointed." Serge said shaking his head. "I bet I'll get no hits in, despite my best efforts."
Anja wrote:"So if you get no hits in you have to buy us beers then kid?"
The Verbena said sounding amused.
Jeremy wrote:"I don't think that's how it works. If I get no hits in then I win and you both have to buy me something." Serge said chuckling.
Anja wrote:"I see you are betting against yourself then are you kid...very well if you don't manage to get in any hits I will take you to the local watering hole and buy you a drink of your choice."
Amadeus said sounding amused.
Jeremy wrote:"That orange juice will taste so sweet." Serge said with a smile.
Anja wrote:Amadeus chuckle at that.
"I will make sure it is fresh pressed."
He arched an eyebrow, "Serge, you do realize that there's usually a hefty punishment for fighters who throw a match, right? Betting against yourself is usually recommended against..."

Anja wrote:"You have actually done this Mr Wainwright?"
Kyle asked sounding impressed.
"Was this when that Nephandus with the Phylactery started making a mess in the basement? What did you show him?"
He nodded slowly, giving Kyle a dark look, "...What is the one thing you fear above all else? I'll say no more of it..."

Anja wrote:"It can happen yes and children with such an illness need to be watched at all times since otherwise they get themselves hurt."
Jeremy wrote:Yeah, I remember seeing her. Didn't know she had that disease though." Serge said looking surprised. "I just know that story of that one girl with the disease. She dropped a spoon into a pot of water and the fished it out like it was nothing. Only after her hands started blistering did she realized she had stuck her hand into a pot of boiling water."
Anja wrote:"Well with the woman visiting Dr Lee her issue comes fro Jhor not from a genetic illness but yes she have that problem. As for the woman with the spoon, we are instinctively afraid of pain and so pause when something might hurt, it takes allot of training to overcome that response so without pain and the fear of pain things like that can happen."
The healer said in a serious tone of voice.
He nodded, "Miss Briar, I believe - I let her in the door just last week. Jhor is a nasty business... And yes, lacking the ability to sense pain is mortally dangerous for exactly that reason."

Anja wrote:Anna looked down and nodded.
"Yeah...I will do that...I will talk with people and figure out why they do what they do, and how one can change it so that it is not done anymore."
She muttered.
He smiled, "Finding out what people want, and what they need, and how to get the two to align is a highly useful skill. Rest assured, I might not be able to teach you much magic for a while, but we'll certainly work on rhetoric and psychology."

[A Spirited Rebuttal]
Anja wrote:"I learned to talk in sounds but I am chronicling, I write things down."
The spirit said.
"What do he want me to chronicle?"
He smiled, "I cannot say. I'll tell him to ask you when the other spirit is dealt with."

Anja wrote:"Why would you want to help me, I hear humans hate those who would attack them."
The spirit's non voice said.
"Yes I know the point. I do not know her name but she is one like you with what I can't touch inside, she spoke my name and took it."
The spirit said sadly.
Jeremy wrote:"We try to help all those who are suffering or are in need of help. It's this woman who hurt you and caused you to attack us so she'll bear our hate." Serge said politely, trying to mimic the official style speech he heard so many spirit mages use when talking to spirits. " Did you see this woman when she stole from you? What did she look like?"
Anja wrote:"I understand."
The spirit said simply.

"Yes I saw her. She looks like 337 years in the past to 156 years in the future though there is some chance it will be longer and some chance it will only be weeks."
The spirit replied.
Jeremy wrote:"I see." Serge said not expecting that kind of answer. "When did the women summon and steal from you? How long ago was it?" he asked wondering if a time based question was more suited for the spirit.
Anja wrote:"Nine hours and fifteen minutes and thirty one seconds ago."
The spirit replied flatly.
Jeremy wrote:"Hmmm, that's interesting." Serge said, his mind racing with questions based on that answer. But he knew he had to keep the questions relevant to the women that they were trying to find.

"You mentioned that the women looked to be around 337 years in the past to 156 years in the future, give or take. Forgive my ignorance but is that the only way you can describe her?"
Anja wrote:"Yes, what other ways are there?"
The spirit said, it's non voice sounding completely confused.
He smiled to Serge, "Very good, Kid."
Turning back to the spirit, "The girl you tried to harm is precious to me; when we thought you were acting on your own behalf, we thought you our enemy. But when we learned what has befallen you, we saw that you are no more our enemy than is a hammer that hits the carpenter's thumb. The woman is using you as a tool, no more, and that blame is all on her."
He turned to Serge, "Spirits are very rarely able to see time like we do, or understand the passage of it. When he says the woman looks like 337 years ago to 156 years in the future, he sees her at every instant of her life at once, making her physical form... well, hard to distinguish."

S7trif3 wrote:"Very well," he said, with a raised eyebrow at Colin.
Anja wrote:"No not yet not at this point in time but such a darkening will come in what you call the future, the woman with what I can't touch inside will be darker than she is and she is darker than she was."
The Umbrood said.
"She can destroy even in my Domain."
He frowned, "So, not Fallen, but making her way there..."
He glanced at George, "The woman I suspect, would she by any chance fit the description?"
He turned to Engrave, "This spirit, lost and nameless, has stated the time its name was stolen... Can you find it, to help us return it to how it should be?"

[Casa Wainwright]

He nodded slowly, giving Kyle a dark look, "...What is the one thing you fear above all else? I'll say no more of it..."

"Already too much," he said with a look to Colin, frowning severely.

[Spirit Shenanigans]

"No not yet not at this point in time but such a darkening will come in what you call the future, the woman with what I can't touch inside will be darker than she is and she is darker than she was." The Umbrood said. "She can destroy even in my Domain."
He frowned, "So, not Fallen, but making her way there..."

"But in thisnow, the her-that-is-thisnow has yet to darken. So...the her-that-will-be-darker is the one who is causing the trouble." He frowned, then looked at Colin. "Do you think it is possible that they are from a different timeline? Or from ours, but trying to change it in our future...er...relatively speaking?" He was still having a bit of a time trying to speak properly of time effects, to get his point across.

// possibly, or she will be already on her mission, depends on how long it takes to get info from a spirit, if he decides to try to call her
