"Agreed kid if we can take this creature alive and get some answers out of her we will but the most important thing is the safety of the Chantry."
Helena said as she ran down the stairs towards the basement.
Rodrigo chittered happily as ran. You got down to the basement, in the practical section you had been in before. Andrew was still on guard duty. Right in the middle of the room the little girl in her pretty dress with her doll on her arm stood. The girl turned to face Serge but Andrew did not seam to see her.
"Miss Mar Mr Yager, what can I do for you?"
Andrew said and he gave a slight bow. Helena looked around.
"If the disturbance here Mr Yager?"
She asked as she motioned for the apprentice Scribe to come over to where she was standing just in case, Andrew obeyed but the kid looked rather confused.
[Villa 2]
"Magic I do not find to strange really, I am used to magic as my kind deal allot with spirits and we have our own abilities but the customs of humans are strange, and everything being hard, the need for things...it is all confusing."
Coawa grunted.
[Labyrinth, 2.00]
"Ah...well at least they have nto been waiting for months...but shit..."
Amber Rose said then she looked confused.
"Who is Kira?"
You felt Cotta there in your soul, one of Mia's many shards, she did nto speak though but she would probably know more about hove to move safely around a Labyrinth than most, if there was such a way.
"Yeah hurting the eyes might make the Labyrinth itself or it's Keeper decide to strike back."
Anna commented.
Serge ran beside, to the best of his abilities, Helena as they both raced to the basement. "If it's a spirit you can still do your spirit magick on her. If it's mostly mental resonances my mind magick should be extra effective against her. Ideally it'll be susceptible to both. I'd rather not kill it if we don't have to though. Focus on trapping it so we can ask it some questions."
"Agreed kid if we can take this creature alive and get some answers out of her we will but the most important thing is the safety of the Chantry."
Helena said as she ran down the stairs towards the basement.
He glanced up at his shoulders to his imaginary spider friend, "Prepare yourself for a fight Rodrigo. I'll be casting magick through you. Remember, you were created to fight against our enemies as well as look super fucking cool."

Colin smiled wryly, "Well, that's understandable; humans are very weird people, so complex and full of strange notions and ideas... and that's even before you add magic to the mixture."
"Magic I do not find to strange really, I am used to magic as my kind deal allot with spirits and we have our own abilities but the customs of humans are strange, and everything being hard, the need for things...it is all confusing."
Coawa grunted.

He shook his head, "No, the ones from tonight... Kallan and the summoner... At least Kira is safe."
"Ah...well at least they have nto been waiting for months...but shit..."
Amber Rose said then she looked confused.
"Who is Kira?"
He pondered for a moment, "The eyes are organic, however disturbing that may be... one should be able to expect some normal tissue responses. Pepper spray might have very interesting effects... though I should warn you, directly provoking the Labyrinth Keeper tends to be painful. Just... trust me on that..."
He frowned and rubbed a hand down his chest, sending a brief apologetic thought to Cotta, "The whole structure is clad in a fairly coherent, horrid and hungry biomass."
You felt Cotta there in your soul, one of Mia's many shards, she did nto speak though but she would probably know more about hove to move safely around a Labyrinth than most, if there was such a way.

"Oh come on? Neither of you guys can see her? Cause she's right there." Serge said pointing at the little girl.
"Also....Hi." he said addressing the little girl. "Pleasure to meet you. I like your doll. I have my own buddy with me as well. His names Rodrigo. Anyways, you seem to be very interested in me. May I ask why?"

"Ehm...there is nothing there Mr Yager..."
Andrew said sounding a bit confused. Helena drew her gun, something that got her a bit of a look from the young Scribe as she looked around.
"I do not see her Mr Yager...I assume shooting her will do little?"
The war mage muttered grumpily.
The little girl giggle as she look at you.
"Because you can see dreams dummy, but right now I am on a rescue mission, the one who wait outsides can eat you soon enough, she will rip and rend you, cut and tear you and eat you whole."
The tiny child said merrily and the doll turned to look in your direction with her dull, glass eyes. Rodrigo hid behind you and chittered nervously.

"Probably not." Serge grumbled, "Do you still have that spell the let you sorta see Rodrigo in effect Ms. Mar. If not, that'll probably help here."
"Who are you rescuing exactly?" he asked. His initial thoughts were that the answer to that question was obvious. But the more he thought about it the less sure he became.

"Not in effect but it can be re cast."
Helena said as she put her gun hesitently away again so she could work hand gestures as she muttered under her breath in Latin, once she was done she looked at the little girl again and frowned.
"I can see something there yes...but not get a clear look on what it is."
She grumbeled.
"Those who have been captured off course silly."
The girl said with a giggle.
"What is she saying Mr Yager?"
Helena asked.

'So... they're more like decorative eyes?' giving a little frown.
[Might also get out that Nick's treated the hedgies decent too. Nick's ignorance *does* stop her being bigoted as she can't see any difference.]
[Nick's blow-up was in fact mainly due to the fact she felt folks were pulling rank on a subject they didn't understand / wasn't their job. Basically, failure to 'respect the specialist', and nobody likes a back-seat driver. Something Colin may observe now, that Nick's basically deferring to Anna on the eye subject. But yes, there are some Traditions she finds... difficult. Hermetics and Choristers, on the main. Verbena are so 'off the page' for her she doesn't know even how to complain...]
- Anja's Post:
- "Well hey you is better than what the Nephandi called me Miss Bouchard."
Anna said with a chuckle.
"Though I guess the Dragon's Tounge have it's charms...well anyway, without harming the eyes, I am not sure they are eyes so putting some in front of them should blind them but really we are going to see allot like them likely."
Anna said.
"Well I could probably grow some shrubbery in front of the eyes but I think we are already seen."
Amber Rose chimed in.

"Exactly, you are going to see allot more decorative organs later in, I mean I had a dick growing out of my wall in my room back in the Labyrinth I lived in...and a liver."
Anna said with a shrug.

((OOC: Nick's certainly not bigoted against those Mage society - or Sleeper society in general, for that matter - considers "lower classes", and I never meant to imply that, either. She does, however, display some quite interesting bigotry against, well, virtually anyone who never wore shoes two sizes too large. The academics, the old money, the old and new nobility... Not saying she's always wrong in her assessments of them, but she's decidedly shown prejudice, just by a completely different set of criteria.))
((OOC2: And yes, Colin's probably well aware that Nick's showing deference to displayed greater knowledge, as opposed to merely higher rank, and that's probably going to weigh in on "corrective" measures taken later. Most likely, Colin's going to have a few long talks with her, and work out some way to leave the impression that she was punished harder than she actually was - though she's going to have to work off the hit to the Chantry's reputation, all the same. ))
Colin smiled thinly, "One of the captives at Steelhaven... protected by a strange whim of fate. Can't say I'm unhappy to see a teenage girl get to live and thrive. Knowing bits of the future in advance can be... well, some things are happy memories of things to come."Anja wrote:"Ah...well at least they have nto been waiting for months...but shit..."

"But if this girl is Fallen is letting her live...intact a good idea."
Amber Rose asked and Crexia gave the young Verbena a wiltering gaze.
"Extremely wise young lady."
The lich commented and the Verbena gave a nervous smile.
"Ehm...yes...eh...off course Lady Crexia."
"Nephandi tastes can be a bit...ehm...unusual."
Anna commented wryly.
"But yes I sort of like my walls just being painted blue and not being flesh."
Both you and Nicole heard a sound in the room over you but it hard hard to say what it was, a sort of small scratching sound.

"Remember those flights of fancy that you threw away Ms. Mar. Well I hope you kept something." Serge said. "Something from your childhood. A moment of inspiration. Of creativity. Where you made or saw something only you could see. Try and think about something like that Ms. Mar."
"Alright so that was my second guess. Admittedly....rescuing the prisoner's should've been my first guess." Serge said to the little girl, hoping that Helena understood that his words were what the little girl had said.
"Why're you rescuing them? I doubt they'd be able to properly play with you. Hell, I doubt any of them would be able to see you. Are they your friends?"

"Why is the door open? Why is it /still/ open?" he asked, shaking his head.
"Can you create an effect such as heat haze, or similar to obscure or make the area in front of the eyes opaque?"
"Yes, they've seen us..." he sighed. "At least block the view please, I don't need an extra audience for this..." he muttered.
He gave a small smile and patted the rock. "Good, I'm glad to hear that."
He gave him a nod. "My friend, now that you are, is it within your power and domain to hold this layout of the labyrinth fixed,, so it will not rearrange?" he asked. To Colin he said, "We still need a way to get our associate out of here, we can't leave the stone and her in here..."
"Yeah there are some eyeballs and a mouth out in the corridor Sir."
Anna informed Adley.
"Why is the door open? Why is it /still/ open?" he asked, shaking his head.
Hah... you do what you want. Sometimes wondered if my name as a kid was actually "hey you!".' she quipped, thinking about the options. 'You got any ideas on how to blind the eye without actually damaging it?' recalling mention that such things were sort of "alive" and therefore poking organs might not be appreciated.
"The eyes are organic, however disturbing that may be... one should be able to expect some normal tissue responses.

"I thank you...I am the corner stone, the building revolve around me, I protect those who protect their families, I am the cornerstone of the dawn, as dawn comes it brings with it new hope a new chance to be with one's family and I protect that...thank you being with what I can not touch inside. I no longer need attack you or your friends, and I will help you if I can and if it is within my porpose."
The spirit's voice was differet now, it sounded like feet on a stone floor and the laugther of children.
"That is a good name...I know who I am now."
The Umbrood said joyfully.
He gave a small smile and patted the rock. "Good, I'm glad to hear that."
He nodded thoughtfully, muttering softly, "That's a good name... reminds me of the cold laboratory floor where I first saw, well... hm, good times, at any rate. Ask if it is strong enough to hold the Labyrinth's layout fixed while we're fighting, to prevent rearrangements while we're moving?"
He gave him a nod. "My friend, now that you are, is it within your power and domain to hold this layout of the labyrinth fixed,, so it will not rearrange?" he asked. To Colin he said, "We still need a way to get our associate out of here, we can't leave the stone and her in here..."

'Yeah, there was last time... are all of them like this? This feels like a fucked-up version of the Fantastic Voyage...' she said quietly, going back to standing watch for any hostiles coming down the corridor.
'It's gone all quiet back there... did they sort out whatever that spike-thing was?'
[Oh, sure she's got her axes to grind, and not all of them are completely justified or fair.]
[Colin will have to work out some way to get Nick out of the opinion that the Traditions can go fuck themselves before anything else. That reminds me; did she explicitly say she'd go to Seattle afterwards?]

"I guess there might be something left, but not much, I am not a child Mr Yager, I am a war mage, I was trained to be a war mage since early girlhood, inspiration I get but I fail to see how that can help here."
Helenta grunted sounding irritated.
"Nope, I do not know them but I was asked to save them by my friend, and one should always try to do favors for friends."

(OOC 2: Sorry for the late reply I was playing D&D my Demogorgon Warlock sacrificed a Priestess of Lolth, there will be some issues in the Abyss now I think, I wonder if Demogorgon and Lolth will have an argument over the priestess' soul.)

"Cause willingness makes it easier for me to cast magick on you." Serge said, "I don't know if it'll work but I wanna try to see if I can grant you vision of the girl. Having some remnant of child like creativity in your mind is better because I can build off of that."
"Of course. But why limit it to friends? One should try and help everyone they can. Wouldn't the world be a much nicer place then?" Serge said, mostly trying to keep the girl talking. "Dreamer huh. I like that nickname. You know so much about me, yet I know very little about you. What's your name? And your doll's name. Can't forget her of course."
Anja wrote:"I guess there might be something left, but not much, I am not a child Mr Yager, I am a war mage, I was trained to be a war mage since early girlhood, inspiration I get but I fail to see how that can help here."
Helenta grunted sounding irritated.

Anna replied with a shrug.
He nodded, "Easy enough - the stone can pretty much be pulled out of the wall and carried off. "I'm not angry with you, I'm just confused. Be careful."
"For now..." he said. He glanced at Colin. "See, I remembered what you taught me, simplicity. Which, in retrospect seems ironic as advice from you," he added with a faint smile.
"Size, I have been told, is relative. Does someone know the ars of conjunctionalis...correspondence, as well as the ars of matter? We could resize the physical stone, while retaining it's connection, take it with us and request our friend to orient as per our understanding. The only other matter to be concerned with is if the stone is holding the wall up. Or we can take a small portion of it, and ask our friend to stay linked to it in the event we need to remove ourselves - however they will need to be reset to right later, of course," he thought out loud.
He quietened to listen, then recalled the disturbing swarms - that either were a direct threat or preceding a worse one. "Friend, can you feel what is coming towards us?"
"Sorry about that Sir...I will close it now."
Anna said and the apprentice moved to do just that under Coawa's watchful eye.

"That seam to have been taken care of."

"So creativity...ehm...like the ice sculpures I make sometimes?"

"Well I guess mostly I have seen the sculptures as a way to practice my finesse at magick, but I guess I do find making them fun."
Helena said still soundign a bit doubtful as your immaginative spider clumbed down to the floor and then up her legs and up to her head where he setteled. "Most certinly."

Anna and Coawa both nodded and headed back to the marble entry room, things was calm there now, the stone spears was gone and it was agian just a large marble chamber with strange patterns on the floor.
"I can feel the pressence of the Qyrl up there, then again the Qyrl is in everrything in this damned building."
Coawa said with a frown.
"If this is even a building at all...well I guess it could be either but did not your man back home say your prisoners admitted to there being an Ananasi working with these Qyrl tainted mages?"
"Perhaps taking a token now so we can keep in touch with the spirit as we move though the Labyrinth and then having the marble block teleported out when we are done."
Jeffry said.
"I do believe that would be the most practical and safe solution."
"Yeah unlike most Fera who have an normal human form and a normal animal form, like this form I have now which is mostly human and my regular great white shark form, or Gabby, cat form there, or Strawberry's little white rat, Ananasi's animal form is a swarm, their own weight in spiders, it could be thosands of induviduals depending on the spider species they favor and they are able to sent out scouts from the swarm to act on their own, they are also able to loose allmost the entire swarm and still survive, though diminished."
Coawa explained.
"I will do so Name Giver."
The spirit confirmed.
"The Labyrinth will nto change configuration before you give the word."
It added. Jeffry looked up at the roof.
"Fire stop a great many things."

S7trif3 wrote:"For now..." he said. He glanced at Colin. "See, I remembered what you taught me, simplicity. Which, in retrospect seems ironic as advice from you," he added with a faint smile.
Colin chuckled softly, "Simplicity works; exponentially so when you have a complex situation where you have to do several things at once... The ring, if you please?"Anja wrote:"For now yes, but then we are not staying here to long."
Jeffry said though he was more concerned witht eh sounds from the roof now.
"I do wonder what that is."
Anja wrote:"Ehm Master Davenport says he can teleport the stone out and to wherever you want to place it."
Tilly who was working the comms said, the Virtual Adept had clearly monitored what was happening.
"Or I can carry it out in my pocket realm."
Jeffry offered.
"But teleporting it is easier."
S7trif3 wrote:"Size, I have been told, is relative.
Anja wrote:"I can make the stone smaller and lighter so we can bring it along with us."
Crexia said.
"But it might be better to leave it in place until we are done here and then teleport it out without manipulating it to much we do nto know if such manipolation will affect the spirit, probably it will not but you never know."
S7trif3 wrote:He nodded. "Very well. Whatever works best..."
He nodded, "Probably best to leave it be until we evacuate... A token, though... well, that's beyond my skill right now."Anja wrote:"Perhaps taking a token now so we can keep in touch with the spirit as we move though the Labyrinth and then having the marble block teleported out when we are done."
Jeffry said.
"I do believe that would be the most practical and safe solution."
Anja wrote:"Well we was told there was shapechangers....a wer spider was it, how small do they get could one be in the cealing?"
Amber Rose asked and she looked up.
"And there are also wer rats are there not?"
Coawa nodded.
"Well one of the shapes of the wer spiders are a swarm of small spiders so one could have been sent and wer rats get pretty small, we have a really small and cute one living in the house on the docks I live in."
Nicole wrote:'Ratkin? Or Spiders?' giving a frown.
Anja wrote:"I can feel the pressence of the Qyrl up there, then again the Qyrl is in everrything in this damned building."
Coawa said with a frown.
"If this is even a building at all...well I guess it could be either but did not your man back home say your prisoners admitted to there being an Ananasi working with these Qyrl tainted mages?"
Nicole wrote:'There was a spider last time... and either a rat or someone who knew a lot about them told about the Kinfolk.' Nicole replied, instinctively moving closer to Anna, clearly in readiness to defend her if needed.
'Also, a few mystics are able to turn into animals. So I've heard.'
Anja wrote:"The Nephandi often work with corrupted shapeshifters Miss Bouchard."
Anna said with a frown.
"I guess their goals tend to align with the Nephandi's."
The girl muttered as she returned to the marble room.
S7trif3 wrote:"Seriously? A /swarm/ of spiders..." He also remembered the rats too and scowled. "Or rats!"
He frowned, looking at the ceiling, "Ah, yes, bugger... an Ananasi would be tricker than, say, a Ratkin, in terms of target acquisition alone..."Anja wrote:"Yeah unlike most Fera who have an normal human form and a normal animal form, like this form I have now which is mostly human and my regular great white shark form, or Gabby, cat form there, or Strawberry's little white rat, Ananasi's animal form is a swarm, their own weight in spiders, it could be thosands of induviduals depending on the spider species they favor and they are able to sent out scouts from the swarm to act on their own, they are also able to loose allmost the entire swarm and still survive, though diminished."
Coawa explained.
S7trif3 wrote:He glanced at Colin then the roof, the said to the spirit, "Please keep the Labyrinth from rearranging itself." Then his attention went back to Colin. "How do we stop a bunch of spiders...or rats..."
He pondered, "No, fire might not be the wisest tool here... hum, Miss Mar would have been perfect for this - Master Morgan, can you flash freeze the ceiling to, oh, some fifteen degrees Fahrenheit or so? I know spiders don't handle the cold well; only a few degrees below freezing at the most... We can endure that for a while, though perhaps a little uncomfortably, but a spider swarm... probably not so much."Anja wrote:"I will do so Name Giver."
The spirit confirmed.
"The Labyrinth will nto change configuration before you give the word."
It added. Jeffry looked up at the roof.
"Fire stop a great many things."
The Flambeau said.
"But just burnign the roof randomingly might be counter productive."

[Labyrinth, 2.00]
Nicole remained silent, sticking close to Anna, all the while looking at the walls and ceilings for any ducts, vents or holes which a small enemy could enter the room though...
[Has Adley forgotten the swarm of spiders in the kitchen of the last Labyrinth?]
