Occasionally looking out of the window and being a bit... alarmed at what she was seeing. 'And if this is like a prison, how will we get in?'

"I am sure Beatrice will love to see you again. Jeffry's house is not large but I am sure we can fit the two of you in so it should be no trouble. As for what needs doing, it should be discussed in private as there are many ears on Horizon, I trust you though, you are my apprentice and if you trust her I also trust your Cabal-mate but I do not know the rest in this room, suffice to say I want to deal with the threat of the Nephandi and water our Coven's tree with their life blood."

Tray, placed her hand on Meridia's shoulder "She is as much my sister as Beatrice and she has earned that trust with me." she tipped her head to the side, relaxing it on Meridia's shoulder leaning against the side of her head.

""I appreciate that, truly. Grief is easier to bear when shared. We all have too much weight on our shoulders these days, I know I've been wallowing in it enough lately."

The ending of Meridia's statement stung Tradegy, but she knew that her sister was correct. The issue was, how does one overcome an obstable of this magnitude when you've never experienced one before of this level. It was clearly more than just willing the trauma away, because Tragedy has been trying that for a week now.

"I just hope those statements can help deal with this, before anyone else gets hurt. And as wonderful as this place is, there are too many plates spinning right now for me to just languish here forever." She is thinking of all the preparations she had been making, and those who would be relying on her.

""I didn't have a chance to really pack before we were carted away. I'll just go fetch a change of clothes and we'll have to just see about recovering some of my symbols once the dust has cleared, if there's anything you need to grab, I'll come with you?"

Tragedy straightened up "Let me grab my outfits and handbag," Tragedy turned to head to her room, sliding her arm to interlock arms with Meridia. She began to escort her sister past the buffet and grabbed a couple fruits "AND" she turned her head with a smile "Some more strawberries."

Escorting Meridia down the hall, Tragedy muttered "Well that went off a lot better than I expected. I love him and all, but I was expecting more of a scolding about how mages have to follow protocol. Our Chantry is in the doghouse all over Boston now."

"Very well I will leave it to you two to get your things. I need to pick up a few things in the herb shop a few doors down so I will be back here in ten minutes and meet you here in the dining room."

"If there is anything you need that you do not have we can pick them up along the way, you mentioned symbols Miss Porter, are they your foci? I am sure we can find something you can use somewhere on Horizon."

Meridia nods her head twice. "We should only be a few moments, but take your time."

"My symbols are ah..." She seems to think for a moment before just nodding. "You're right, they're easily replaced, I just need somewhere that has any kind of religious paraphenalia, any kind should do for now so long as I'm roughly familiar."

She bids him to farewell for now with another polite nod of her head.

Merdia brightens a little at this, it helped, especially feeling so disconnected right now. Her usual clump of spirits  Her own head tips slightly for just a moment to bump softly against Tray's, a few frizzy stray hairs covering her face with the movement.

Tragedy straightened up "Let me grab my outfits and handbag," Tragedy turned to head to her room, sliding her arm to interlock arms with Meridia. She began to escort her sister past the buffet and grabbed a couple fruits "AND" she turned her head with a smile "Some more strawberries."

Escorting Meridia down the hall, Tragedy muttered "Well that went off a lot better than I expected. I love him and all, but I was expecting more of a scolding about how mages have to follow protocol. Our Chantry is in the doghouse all over Boston now."

Meridia looks at the strawberries as she is led past them with just a little bit of longing, although she wasn't really feeling like a fruit feast right now. Her nerves would have to settle down before she even thought about food.

"I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities for people to look down on us, it's nice that we've been having the gentle treatment so far, let's hope it lasts a little longer." She murmurs this in response.

Meridian isn't sure how things will look from the outside, pity alone isn't what she wants right now. She would take anger, so long as it was directed at the attackers. She tightens her arms a little for a moment, trying to squeeze slightly.

"It's nice to finally meet someone from your stories! I somehow always pictured him a little differently in my mind. I'm sure he will just be glad to see that you survived, happy to see you back on your feet." She doesn't say what's on her mind, that things could have gone a lot worse.

"I can call my Mentor."
Beatrice said and she picked out a small crystal ball out of her pocket and spoke into it before accepting the box from Colin.
"Always prepared eh? But anyway my Mentor will pick up some tea if he get the chance, I check if there is any groceries we will need as well."

Colin chuckled, "I don't expect the box to necessarily outlast the stay, given I'm not the only tea drinker - but I did not plan on coming without a fallback option. But if I had brought my entire tea rack, we'd have come in overweight."

"Well to be honest first time I visited Horizon I was out of it with Paradox and the second time I was on trial for being a Widderlainte and that ended with me being Branded so...I did not exactly go sightseeing."
The young Verbena said with a shudder.
"But I have read quite a bit about this place. Also the suns here is far less damaging than the sun back home, and considerably less bright. I am not so sure it can give you cancer."

He nodded, "Might give an unpleasant sunburn, though - especially if you have paler skin tones. But Shawn will be able to endure with a bit of sunblock, so it's nowhere near as potent, no."

Kallan has important information we need to verify, so we can't have him die, er, prematurely. Mercy plays into it, certainly, but I really want an opportunity to take down Green, as he's apparently one of the Italians' stooges-in-the-know. Baby steps, you know."

He smiled thinly, "Getting in isn't the hard part, enough of the Security Office's staff remains uncorrupted that the dirty ones have do be discreet and cautious... but we're not getting inside by committing crimes. We ask at the front desk. I... know a few faces."

"I might have misunderstood you Miss Porter if your sumbols are here then get them we are not in that much of a hurry."

"I was just thinking that if you did not have them here and there was some hassle to retrieve them then we should get you something to use until you can get yours back."

Beatrice did not seam depressed by the conversation, she seamed to accept that she would never be perfect, that there would always be someone better, more powerful and smarter and all she could do was her best but she nodded non the less.
"Well trying to find something to help is not a bad idea, as for food, well yes now granted I was not in a shape to try much of it when last I was here but you can find anything from regular hamburgers to dinosaur pai here, or food infused with Quintessence but that is expensive."

"Wonder if they sell dragon steak. That seems like something someone would think of. At least once." Serge mused.

He gave Serge a thin smile, "I don't think it will be a necessary concern, really - but Bee has been here before, and knows more about what is dangerous here that wouldn't be back home... It is an alien world with two suns, after all, so don't go frolicking outside without sunblock."

He waved back to the angel, "See? The angel is friendly, and the bear is... oh, right, you don't see them, do you? They seem to be quite ready to respond to trespassers."

"One of these days I'll be able to see them." Serge grumbled. "I bet they look cool with the six wings and the heavenly motif."

You went though the left door and got into another short hallway, this had more paintings on the wall and a small table with a old fashioned dial telephone in a corner, there was two more doors, one was open and seamed to lead to a large kitchen.
"Ohh the kitchen I will head in there and put the tea on."
Beatrice bounced.
"You can check out the other room in this hallway I suspect it is the dining room."

"Let's see if your right." Serge said opening the other door within the short hallway to confirm or deny Bea's guess.

He glanced outside, "It's not the brightness alone, I think, but a more... esoteric element. The twin suns are a marvel of magical engineering, as it were, but they are far smaller, and they don't have the same spiritual essence that harms creatures of the night, that sort of thing."

"Sunburns are easily fixed with magick. And this place has loads of that. I do wonder why they went with the two suns design when building the world?" Serge wondered out loud, "Eh, questions for future research I suppose."

He gave Serge a wry grin, "A bit of hubris, perhaps - they did it because they could, and wanted to show off their capabilities."

"One of these days I'll be able to see them." Serge grumbled. "I bet they look cool with the six wings and the heavenly motif."

He sighed, "Afraid I cant' be much help in that regard, but perhaps Bee can help open your eyes to them a little? This one's only got the one pair that I can see - it's a more humanoid appearance, armour and everything."

((OOC: Amadeus might suggest asking Colin about those Foci and tools, you know - if he thinks Meridia and Tragedy can afford the quality work. ))

"They are sentient beings and can talk, I mean it is a sliding scale and cats and dogs have emotions as well the same with pigs and cows but dragons they are as smart as you and I if not more so. I do not think many would eat that."
Beatrice replied wrinkling her nose at the suggestion.

"Well as vices go to much coffee is a pretty benign one."

"Yes you are most likely right about that."
Beatrice said with a nod.
"It might be the same that silver that come from the ground are more magickally potent than silver made with magick. Our sun is natural it have a spiritual element to it, these two suns do not or at least not to the same degree, they are there to keep the realm warm and give it a day and night cycle, but not much else."

"Sunburns are easily fixed with magick. And this place has loads of that. I do wonder why they went with the two suns design when building the world?" Serge wondered out loud, "Eh, questions for future research I suppose."

Beatrice said after she had pricked her finger on the point of her sickle and put a drop of blood one each eyelid, then she lend out her hand to Serge.

"Let's see if your right." Serge said opening the other door within the short hallway to confirm or deny Bea's guess.

You got into a small dining room the room was dominated by a large, oval table. A chandelier for candles hung over the table and there was an old cabinet filled with plates and crystal glasses. There was also a large window out towards the garden on one wall and a fireplace on the other. Cozy dinners could be had here.

(OOC: That he can do though right now it is more about making sure everyone have the foci they need for their magick.)

The deacon and the girls broke up their gathering, going about their chores. Walking down the narrow hallway towards Tray's room.

I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities for people to look down on us, it's nice that we've been having the gentle treatment so far, let's hope it lasts a little longer. It's nice to finally meet someone from your stories! I somehow always pictured him a little differently in my mind. I'm sure he will just be glad to see that you survived, happy to see you back on your feet."

 

The girls turned into Tray's room, her bag and clothes were packed and sitting on the counter ready for her departure. Tragedy grabbed the bag and returned to Meridian's arm "It is good to remember the past, the friends, and the connections. You never know when you'll need them in times of hardship. It is just as important that we molt the past and are reborn with our eyes on the future."

Tray gives Meridian a playful nudge "We have a lot of stories that we haven't created yet."

The two girls walked out of the clinic together looking to be picked up by Amadeus.

He leaned back, looking up at the castle, "A certain degree of zealotry is needed to work in the Security Office... Making that face here is liable to earn one quite powerful enemies. Oh, they exist, by all means, but not so much in, ah, public-facing positions."

((OOC: Just something I suddenly remembered, that I'm not sure Tragedy and Meridia were told before character creation - we use Linguistics as a Knowledge, so if you want to speak more than English, you may want to drop a few points into that Ability.))

"Indeed, though just between you and me."
Beatrice said in a conspiratorial tone of voice and leaned close.
"Tea is a more...refined habit than coffee."
She said with a grin.

He chuckled, "That was probably part of it, yes..."

The young Verbena giggled at that before heading into the house.

"That's the true essence of magick right there. Done just to prove it can be done. No other reasons needed."

"Well at least those old mages had fun with their magick."
Beatrice agreed.

"Yeah! Spirit me up." Serge said taking Bea's hand and shaking it vigorously.

The young Verbena took your hand and you suddenly saw a huge bear that looked like it was made out of soul stuff wandering around in the garden and a handsome knight in shining armor on the roof, with large white wings majestically folded behind him.

"You were right. It is a dining room." Serge said raising his voice so that Bea could hear from the kitchen. He went around the dining room exploring it's contents in details, "Surprisingly little magick so far. Kind of expected a lot more stuff moving around on it's own or talking to us."

"I doubt Master Morgan would enchant something to move around when he is not there just to do it. He tend to conserve magick to what is practical."
Beatrice said and you heard the clutter of pans.
"Not much food here...what do you like to eat Serge?"

"There is a lot of ahead of us for sure, maybe we'll start up somewhere else with a new group, somewhere safer, or find another chantry to welcome us instead." Meridia sighs. "You know, having a solid home for a while, somewhere I was settled down in, now I'm used to that, it's going to be hard living any other way." Her tone is slightly somber for a moment before she snaps out of it.

"I am sure we can get your foci back eventually but right now it is important you have what you need to work your Art, so let me take you to a shop and get you some placeholders for now."

The deacon and the girls broke up their gathering, going about their chores. Walking down the narrow hallway towards Tray's room.

The room the two of you had been given was a small single room, you had one each, it was simple with a desk, a closet, a bed and a chair, but everything was nice and clean with a large window and there was a pale purple, calming color on the wall, painted pictures of herbs hung on the walls.

The two girls walked out of the clinic together looking to be picked up by Amadeus.

Amadeus got back to the clinic dining room after a few minutes carrying a paper bag with the logo of a herb shop on his arm. He gave the two younger mages a smile.
"Are you two ready to go? Let us pick up the tools Miss Porter need for her magick on the way...is there anything you need Tragedy? And then head to my Cabalmate's house to meet the others."

"Of course, that would be perfect. I'll take anything for now, so long as it isn't a sign for the great spaghetti monster." Meridia smiles toward Amadeus and moves to fall in line.

The exacto knife comment draws Meridian's eyes to the Deacon's scars, she can't help but wince slightly in secondhand pain.

"I saw a shop selling pendants and symbols right around the corner."
Amadeus said.
"Is there anything other than religious symbols you need for your magick?"
Then he noticed the young Chorister's look and smiled.
"I am a blood witch Miss Porter, I also work with herbs but a big part of my magick involve my own blood which I know can be uncomfortable for others to watch, I am sorry about that in advance."

"I guess we'll see what's available once we're there, and whether it's affordable at all."

"I doubt Master Morgan would enchant something to move around when he is not there just to do it. He tend to conserve magick to what is practical."

"There are quite a few mages who use religious symbols in their working in one way or another so I suspect we can find quite a range, and while I might not be able to afford white gold and diamonds I can afford to get you something proper to work with."

"It is important to have your tools, you never know when you might need your magick for something. A Hermetic once said a magus' spells are his life and he know each one of them like he know his own children. We are mages so being able to do willworking is as necessary for us as it is for birds to be able to fly."

"A blade is a blade and an exacto knife is sharper than my sickle or ritual dagger so it make a pretty fine cut, but I admit it do not have the same flair, and as mages we must allow ourselves a bit of flair, but if you suddenly find yourself without weapons and tools and in need of some aggressive shrubbery to deal with a HIT Mark you will use what you have."
The old Verbena said before he offered to take the two younger mages' bags and then headed towards the door.

[I had a Malkavian who did similar. Well, he kept on using Obfuscate to change his clothes, hairstyle and so on. I also had a Ratkin who used to use her rat-form to break into houses when the owners were out and use their stuff. Like, she'd 'shop' for new clothes from their wardrobe and abandon her dirty old stuff on their floor, cook herself something to eat, shower and so on. Took some doing to persuade the ST that this was her 'Resources 2' on her sheet.]
