"If there had not been very good reasons to stop my mother I would not be telling you this."
Hannah said in agreement.
"If it the Labyrinth had just stayed in the shadows as it have before, I would never have lead the Traditions to their doorstep, but I agree, my mother's plans...the death and destruction it would cause..."
The Orphan said and sigh, she was hurting someone no matter what she did, all she could do was hope that the path she took would cause the least amount of suffering.

"What is a Black Spiral Dancer?" Finding out there were werewolves that were -worse- than your usual werewolves, that were in fact in league with Nephandi and acted in similar ways was hardly welcome news.

"They are Malfean werewolves, that is the best way to describe it. June often call her path the Black Spiral, apparently shapechangers can walk it as well. Now I do not know much about lupines, other than that they exist and that they can walk in the Umbra, but I asked June about it and she said that they do not have Avatars like us, but that they are connected to primal forces of reality in the same place in their soul that our Avatars live, that is why we have never heard of any of them ever Awakening, and that spiritual connection can be corrupted just like our souls can. But that is really all I know about them."

"Alright Hannah. We're here; I think that what you told us is will be helpful to stop the threat. We might have a few more questions to ask. I know this was hard for you," he said, with empathy.

"I just hope it is not helpful in getting my best friend captured."
Hannah sigh then she looks away and bit her lower lip.
"I will answer what questions you have, but I do not do it with a happy heart and I hope you do not mind that I well...I do not have much to pray to, but that I will hope with all my heart that as many of them as possible die when the assault on the Labyrinth finally go down, I do not want to be the cause of..."
The Orphan sigh and shook her head.

"Saying thank you would not be sufficient or acceptable, or probably even welcome. So I will not. But you have helped to stop the threat to Boston, to us, your brother and your own avatar."

"If June and Kienan dies in the assault or manage to escape then you can thank me, before then though...I do not want to be thanked for possibly being the cause of them being Gilgulled...though Kienan might be safe since I do not think he have been through the Cauls, he is an Infernalist after all."
Hannah said then she hesitated.
"There is one thing...if you can not take the Labyrinth, and my mother is near in completing her plans...kill me, there is no guarantee but that might take out my brother as well. That is why those that came after us was so afraid to hurt me in the crossfire, I and my brother are twin souls, more often than not when one twin dies...the other one follow him or her in death."
Hannah said softly.
"If it is necessary do not hesitate, the Caul is the heart of the Labyrinth, if it dies the magickal powers, protections and might of the Labyrinth go with it. Have you ever played that old 90's computer game Dungeon Keeper? It is like that, with the Caul being the dungeon heart. You would still have the Nephandi to deal with but their place of power would die with my brother..."
Hannah said then she looked at the station wagon as Duncan parked it next to The Chief's car.
"And yes that mean that if the strike is successful and my brother is given peace there is a good chance I will drop dead as he cease to exist, if that happens, do not feel guilty, I will be reborn and it is a sacrifice I am willing to make to end his pain. Now like I said it is not a given the way I understand it, and it is possible to resist dying at the same time as the host of one's twin soul, but it is not easy."

As Hannah was speaking you see Duncan get out of the car and move to the passenger side of the car, trying to wake up Colin, which he did not seam to be able to do and you notice him checking the Orphan's pulse and seaming quite concerned before he signaled for you and Jeffry to get out of the car and help him, Colin was just not waking up.

"I will answer what questions you have, but I do not do it with a happy heart and I hope you do not mind that I well...I do not have much to pray to, but that I will hope with all my heart that as many of them as possible die when the assault on the Labyrinth finally go down, I do not want to be the cause of..." The Orphan sigh and shook her head.

He didn't want a fresh batch of widderslainte born to grow up, running around but he knew there was a good chance many of them would escape or die rather than be captured, as his pater said. There would be targets of higher importance - the Masters, Lisa Larson herself, of course. And he couldn't ask Hannah to be particularly glad that she was giving up her friends, no matter what he thought about the fact her friends were Nephandi. It wouldn't do anyone any good and the girl had grown up with them, this was what she knew. If she was being honest and had told them true, she was probably frightened and would not have many people left in her life, afterward.

Adley's eyes widened and his face fell slightly further as she began to talk, looking pained. All this and she still might die. What she was telling them might kill her. Yes, her avatar would be spared corruption at least, but Hannah...he was spared any sort of reply by Duncan waving his hand at them urgently. He opened the door and got out of the car, holding it open for Hannah. He asked Duncan, "What's wrong with Colin?" sounding concerned for his friend.

he was spared any sort of reply by Duncan waving his hand at them urgently. He opened the door and got out of the car, holding it open for Hannah. He asked Duncan, "What's wrong with Colin?" sounding concerned for his friend.

Hannah got out of the car and you also see Jeffry Morgan getting out of the driver's seat. Duncan looked concerned at Colin then he replied to your question.
"He is not waking up, in fact he is completely unresponsive."
The Verbena said, he turned back to the Orphan and reached into his pocked and pulled out a bit of dirt and poured it over Colin, looking at the patterns it made as it landed.
"Hum...his life patters are strong and stable though, I suspect this is either a Quiet or a Seeking and I lack the knowledge and power to determine which, in either case Mr Wainwright do seam to be trapped in a Mindscape for now."
Duncan said glanced up at you.

Colin currently where pale, but his breath was even, he looked to be in a very deep sleep from where you where standing and you had seen that before when magi got trapped in an internal world their Avatars constructed for them. Jeffry Morgan sigh.
"Well that is just what we needed...I guess the man was in need of rest though and there is little we can do about this other than get him to his room and get him to bed, whatever it i a Quiet or a Seeking he will get out of it when he is good and ready and not before."

"Well that is just what we needed...I guess the man was in need of rest though and there is little we can do about this other than get him to his room and get him to bed, whatever it i a Quiet or a Seeking he will get out of it when he is good and ready and not before."

Adley frowned, worried about Colin's welfare. He hoped it was a Seeking and not Quiet...but his pater was correct there wasn't bound to be a way to wake him up until either one had been resolved. Damn, but the timing seemed bad. He scrubbed a hand across his hair again until it stood violently at angles, trying to keep himself alert.

"Well, let's get him to bed then. And escort our guest," he said, hoping that there weren't a lot of people about. He would do whatever he had to do, carry his friend as best he could or take Hannah, though he was not sure where the Chief would want to take and secure her. He hoped there were not a lot of people around...maybe he should go first with Colin to clear them out. "Duncan, will you help me take Colin?" he looked over at his mentor to see if that was satisfactory.

"I have seen three of them, I do not know if there are more."
Hannah said and she nodded.
"Yeah, we might be able to surpass their abilities, but they are so much quicker than most magi that you would be dead long before you could even begin to think about a rote to cast."
The Orphan said.
"So yes they are best avoided, and these three are even worse than the regular bunch of them."

"Well, let's get him to bed then. And escort our guest," he said, hoping that there weren't a lot of people about. He would do whatever he had to do, carry his friend as best he could or take Hannah, though he was not sure where the Chief would want to take and secure her.

"If you will get Mr Wainwright to his chambers mea filius, then I will escort Miss Larson to a guest room and make sure she is safe and comfortable."
Jeffry Morgan said then he gave you a smile.
"And do not worry entering a Mindscape is not exactly rare, your Cabalmate will be fine."
The old mage said but he did seam concerned all the same.
"Once you have gotten Mr Wainwright to bed, if one of you could please get Master Nassa and get him to the chapel, and bring some pillows and blankets and I will speak with Mr Darehill."
The old Hermetic said, only using the Cultist's name now that the lot of you where back safely at Steelhaven.

He hoped there were not a lot of people around...maybe he should go first with Colin to clear them out. "Duncan, will you help me take Colin?" he looked over at his mentor to see if that was satisfactory.

"Off course."
Duncan said and he begun to carefully shift Colin's limp body out of the passenger seat of the station wagon, with some difficulty since the Orphan was a large man and Duncan Ackermann stood under 170 cm off the ground and while stocky he was not the most buff man around.

Jeffry gave Colin another concerned look then he politely begun to lead Hannah into the main area of the Chantry.
"If you would follow me Miss Larson."
He said politely. Hannah glanced and you before she nodded and let herself be lead into Steelhaven.

"I will be done with school for the day by then."

((OOC: I have to reiterate - Colin's not a tall man. He's a bit broadly built, but not particularly tall - perhaps an inch or so over Duncan. On another note, Freddy's going to be pissed - first Colin postpones dinner over a mission, and then he buggers off into a mindscape on the way home? If one were suspicious, one might suspect he was uninterested in romance! Wink

Jeffry nodded to you as he left with Hannah, he knew he was leaving Colin in good hands but the problem was no one knew how long such a Minscape would last, whatever it was a Quiet or a Seeking it could be minutes or it could be years, one could never know.

Duncan said as he supported the Orphan's body and waited for Adley to grab his other side so they could get him out of the garage.

Duncan lifted Colin's legs and then waited for help to arrive to deal with the Nephandus, the two of you did not have to wait long however before Rush, Henrietta and Adjan came rushing down into the garage.
"The Chief said something about a prisoner."
Adjan said as he walked over to the car.
"A Nephandus? He also said I should get a bottle from his office with some sort of drug that would take this prisoner's magick out of the equation for a while?"
The Euthanatos asked then he saw Colin and asked with concern in his voice.
"What have happened? If he okey?"

(OOC: Yes well Freddy might not want to drop into a Mindscape that is happening on a Nephandi Battle Cruiser. As for Necromancy, sure, she can make sure pixel zombies. ; ) )

"I hope so...we could use some good news around here, but it's just the timing issue. And he was so tired already. Hell of a way to enforce a nap, though. I hope he's okay."

The death mage said as Rush came over to help him carry Diego, the Verbena nodded to Duncan who nodded in return, the two of them being in the same Coven they where probably well acquainted.

Adjan said and gave you and encouraging smile. Henrietta scratched her head.
"Seekings...Quiets, reality spanking you like if you where a disobedient seven year old, Awakened mages do have their problems don't they."
The hedge wizard muttered.

"Usually that's a good thing, that they don't..." he said. His avatar had kept him from going mad several times and even its rage had protected him. Most circumstances of late, he was glad for the assistance. "Yes, he's a good man," he agreed with a nod.

You remember that it was put in one of your mentor's desk drawers so Adjan can get it. The Euthanatos nods. "So I just fill the syringe and give it to him, nothing more complicated than that? How long do the effect last?" He asked as he begun to haul the still sleeping Diego out of the trunk.

"It's not complicated no. Administer it into a muscle, like the shoulder or thigh." He tried to recall how long he was told the effect would last, if he had been, when he'd given it to Raymond.

Adjan nodded, Seekings and Quiets where all parts of being a mage, there where little use in complaining about it, but off course it was worrisome. "I hope he will recover soon then Adley and that it is a Seeking and not a Quiet."

It spoke of his exhaustion and concern that he would speak freely on the matter but he also trusted Adjan. "So do I."

"Well we will take care of the prisoner so just take care of Mr Wainwright." Adjan said and gave you and encouraging smile. Henrietta scratched her head.

"Thank you." He picked up Colin again and waited for Duncan to be ready and then began to move out of the garage, to his room.

"Seekings...Quiets, reality spanking you like if you where a disobedient seven year old, Awakened mages do have their problems don't they."

He felt a wry smile pull at his face but it faded quickly under the 'problems' that had accrued and the ones on the horizon. Even so, he would not have it another way. He was glad to be awakened and though he did not look down on linear wizards, his relationship with his avatar was important to him of course. And with that came 'problems' and challenges and hopefully enlightenment. As he walked along through the Chantry, he glanced down at his friend. "I doubt you can hear me, wherever you are inside your mind, but I hope you're finding out something useful to you. Come back soon, I was just starting to get used to having you around. And with what's coming we...I, could really use your help," he admitted.

"Beatrice have spoken of Colin, she do seam to be quite fond of him, and also the way he interacted with one of my owls, it have often been said that if you want to judge the quality of a man, look at how he treat animals."

Adjan said as he and Rush begun to carry Diego towards the basement where they would have to make another make shift cell, the wash room this time perhaps. You do remember that the drug was supposed to last about 24 hours or so.

It spoke of his exhaustion and concern that he would speak freely on the matter but he also trusted Adjan. "So do I."

Adjan just nodded at that, he did hope the Orphan would be okey.

"Thank you." He picked up Colin again and waited for Duncan to be ready and then began to move out of the garage, to his room.

There where not that many of the Chantry residents in the hallways as you and Duncan carried Colin to his room, the clock was around eight in the evening so it would be safe to assume that many of Steelhaven's magi where either in their rooms or in the common room eating dinner. The few you met though looked at Colin and gave one another concerned glances though no one asked what was going on, not yet, they understood you needed to get the Orphan safely to bed first.

You reach Colin's room and Duncan wait for you to fish the keys to the door out of the Orphan's pocket, after all you where a member of the pilot's Cabal, it would be less of an intrusion for you to go through his pockets than for one who barely knew him and had only seen him a a few times when members of Riverside came to visit Steelhaven. Duncan also did not interrupt as you spoke to Colin, he let you have that private moment in peace while he focused on carrying the limp Orphan.

Lately, it seemed his avatar was his guardian as well, at least sometimes. And he was pretty fortunate, in that regard. Hearing Beatrice's name, a shadow crossed his face and he nodded, trying to keep his morale up. Your owls...they were, to borrow a phrase, adorable." Then he added, "I am sorry that we had to bring that fight there. It was an emergency...ah, you said there were werewolves? I just learned there were some working with the Nephandi...werewolves that are like Nephandi to mages for simplicity sake. Do be careful."

"Very well I will take care of it." Adjan said

Adley told Adjan what he'd done to Raymond to give him the shot safely but not who he had given it to - so that he would know what to do. "Good," he said as they left.

Once they got to Colin's room, he checked the same pocket he had for the borrowed car keys, figuring that was the best shot. He almost wished the man would make some embarrassing comment again and show signs of wakening but once he found what he was looking for, he opened the door to get him inside and set him to rest.

Duncan looks at you for a moment, he see your reaction to hearing Beatrice's name but he do not ask about it, he understand that you are probably both sad and conflicted over her plight. When you mention his children though he smiles proudly.
"Thank you, they are my pride and joy."
The Verbena said then he nodded.
"I understand, our tree is probably the safest place in the forest, we have quite a few wards woven on it and while I might not appreciate the tree being put in danger I understand the circumstances."
Duncan said then he got a serious look on his face when you mentioned the werewolves.
"Black spiral dancers..."
He spat.
"I will have to warn the lupines in the area...my House or faction as the Verbena call it, often serve as liaisons between my Tradition and the various changing breeds so I have some contacts among them, and thank you, I will be careful."

Once they got to Colin's room, he checked the same pocket he had for the borrowed car keys, figuring that was the best shot. He almost wished the man would make some embarrassing comment again and show signs of wakening but once he found what he was looking for, he opened the door to get him inside and set him to rest.

You find Colin's apartment keys in the same pocket as his car keys and get the door open. Duncan help you get the Orphan into bet and get his shoes of.
"He should be cleaned up, his shirt and jacket is full of blood, but I do not know him well enough to know if he would like someone actually undressing him and cleaning him while he is out of it."
The Verbena said.
"Perhaps it is best to just leave him in peace. I think I will fill a glass of water at least and leave on the bed stand for when he wakes up."
Off course that water would have to be changed regularly if Colin took his time getting out of the Mindscape.
"Let us just make sure he is warm enough."
Duncan said, he did not want the other mage to catch a cold while he was in this completely helpless condition.

"My pater might be interested to know that you are going to tell them, just in case something should arise," he said. "It doesn't sound like they are good news."

"He should be cleaned up, his shirt and jacket is full of blood, but I do not know him well enough to know if he would like someone actually undressing him and cleaning him while he is out of it." The Verbena said. "Perhaps it is best to just leave him in peace. I think I will fill a glass of water at least and leave on the bed stand for when he wakes up." Off course that water would have to be changed regularly if Colin took his time getting out of the Mindscape. "Let us just make sure he is warm enough." Duncan said, he did not want the other mage to catch a cold while he was in this completely helpless condition.

He looked a bit uncertain. It wasn't as if he was entirely comfortable with such things either but he was so damn tired and given the situation, he settled on taking off Colin's jacket and put it nearby, over the back of a chair or folded up. His shirt was still going to be a torn up mess but at least he would be a little more comfortable. He looked around for some extra blankets and if he had to, would retrieve some from his own room.

"I can certainly have a talk with him, for now though, if we where going to fetch Amadeus after we are done here, I will need to stay with his apprentice until after he have slept, there is no way he will consent to just leaving her alone."
Duncan said then he nodded.
"But no, Black Spiral Dancers are not good news, not at all."

Adley looked confused for a moment, then looked back between the kitchen, Duncan and Colin and frowned. "Oh?" He tried to recall if he'd been told that or had simply forgotten, given everything that happened. Either way, he didn't know right off who it was at first that Colin was cooking dinner for that night. And he didn't want to go through Colin's stuff to find out, invading his privacy. He scratched at the side of his neck and then remembered what Colin had muttered when he was looking for the station wagon keys. "Freddy..." he suddenly realised. He pulled his phone out to tell her but it was not the same one that had the message from the other night...and he did not have that one memorized yet.

// iirc, Adley wasn't told about Colin's dinner plans and if he saw Colin was texting in front of him he wouldn't have associated it with the food on the stove - but he also might have just forgotten, equally until Duncan reminded him just now. Anyway, if he knows which room Ms. Addlebloom is in, he will go stop by to tell her.

"Whoever see Master Morgan first then will tell him and I will give him details as soon as I can."

"Freddy..." he suddenly realised. He pulled his phone out to tell her but it was not the same one that had the message from the other night...and he did not have that one memorized yet.

You do know what room the Virtual Adept have, you do not know her well personally other than that she was friendly and seamed to be a nice person, however there where not that many inhabitants of Steelhaven so you had a fair grasp of where everyone had their rooms, in this case 208.

Duncan finished making sure Colin had everything he needed when he woke up then he said.
"I do not know if there is much else we can do for Mr Wainwright right now, things will just have to run their course."

You reach room 208 and knock on the door. It do not take long for Freddy to open, the Virtual Adept was a pretty young woman, you think she might be around your age, perhaps a year or two younger it was hard to say even without magick in the picture in that age range. Right now the Technomancer was dressed in a black minidress with large, white note symbols all over it, black and white striped PVC arm warmers and matching high heeled boots, large plastic notes hung from her ears and she had a PVC spike collar around her neck. Freddy had her dyed blue hair in ponytails and had braided in artificial dreads in blue and pink, along with pieces of plastic. More black notes served as hair bows. On her now exposed arms where tattoos, among them two robot dolphins making up a ying yang symbol and the Correspondence symbol surrounded by a complex pattern of lines. The young woman's getup might not be your style but it was clear she had put care into her appearance and had dressed up.
"Ah Mr Roth Hicks, what can I do for you?"
Freddy asked when she saw you.
"Are your computer not working?"
She inquired, revealing the reason most of the Chantry's inhabitants came to her door.

He nodded back, looking troubled as he spoke about Beatrice again. Though instead of commenting on it, he said, "And Duncan? Thank you, for healing Colin and making sure we got back safely. I will see you soon." He closed the door behind them, knowing there really wasn't much more he could do to help the man right now. What else, sit at the door? No, he was going to be needed soon enough. He hurried down to Ms Addlebloom's apartment, tapping at the door.

"Ah Mr Roth Hicks, what can I do for you?" Freddy asked when she saw you. "Are your computer not working?" She inquired, revealing the reason most of the Chantry's inhabitants came to her door.

He made no comment about her attire thought it did look different than what he thought he normally saw her wearing. Perhaps this was her date night or club attire, he honestly would not know. "As I haven't even had time to use it in days, no, it's not that; I'm afraid I have other news. Were you going to have dinner with Colin?" Not wanting to scare her unnecessarily, he just waited to see if that was the case before continuing, "He was with me on a mission. He was injured, not severely and has since been healed but we believe he is having a Seeking now, or perhaps twi--Quiet. He has been put to bed in his room for now so he can recover."

"Don't mention it, we are all members of this Tribunal though we are of different Chantries and we are allies so I do what I can. Yes I will see you soon Adley."
Duncan said and headed in the direction of Beatrice's quarters.

"As I haven't even had time to use it in days, no, it's not that; I'm afraid I have other news. Were you going to have dinner with Colin?"

"Yes we where planning on having dinner together today yes."
Freddy said and she gave a slight smile then that smile turned into a grin.
"He have been going on about his spotted dick for days now so I thought it was about time I tasted it."
The Virtual Adept said and smiled innocently then after a little while had gone by, just enough for Adley to get lobster red if he did not know what it was she added sweetly.
"The British have such...interesting names for their desserts do they not?"

Not wanting to scare her unnecessarily, he just waited to see if that was the case before continuing, "He was with me on a mission. He was injured, not severely and has since been healed but we believe he is having a Seeking now, or perhaps twi--Quiet. He has been put to bed in his room for now so he can recover."

Freddy's moon for jokes seamed to vanish and she looked quite concerned.
"That idiot."
She muttered.
"He is in a Mindscape then."
She said then she sigh.
"Well no dinner tonight then, I guess I will play nursemaid. The Epiphany that comes after a Seeking can be so confusing and it is often not easy easier to wake up out of a Quiet, I will stay with him for a while, until he wakes up."
The Virtual Adept said and she grabbed her phone and keys from a nearby table and haded out of her apartment.
"If you don't mind that is, you are a member of his Cabal, that and a mage's mentor are their next of kind in this insane little society of ours."
Freddy added as she got ready to head over to Colin's apartment to watch over his body until his mind decided to return to it.

"Yes we where planning on having dinner together today yes." Freddy said and she gave a slight smile then that smile turned into a grin. "He have been going on about his spotted dick for days now so I thought it was about time I tasted it."

There were many emotion that were going on under the surface of his demeanor but her words cut through them in their sheer absurd unexpectedness. He stared at her, jaw slightly ajar and brows up. His face turned pink first over his nose and spread to his ears until he did indeed look like a lobster.

The Virtual Adept said and smiled innocently then after a little while had gone by...she added sweetly. "The British have such...interesting names for their desserts do they not?"

He shut his eyes briefly in fresh embarrassment. "Yes....they have such...colorful terms for food..."

"That idiot." She muttered. "He is in a Mindscape then." She said then she sigh.

"I do not mind. I do not think Colin would, either. At least I do not think so. In fact I am glad someone can stay with him and watch over him while he is in such a state, because I cannot." And Beatrice...he couldn't stay with her either but at least Duncan was going to be there. He didn't know Freddy very well - aside that now she had a sense of humor - but as it was, it was for the best. "Thank you, Ms Addlebloom."
