"It is nice to meet you young man, I am Margaret Bachmeier." The old Orphan woman said and offered you her strong, bony hand in greeting.

"I wish the circumstances were better," he said and took her hand briefly.

"I do not know Mr Roth Hicks, I hope so, Ian is a good man, he is very dedicated to the safety of his Cabal and have been a good friend to my son, all I know is that he was rushed to one of the clinics, the one the Sons of Ether run I think, so he was hurt badly." Margaret said sounding worried

"I see," he said with a shake of his head.

"Yes I would not be opposed to that." Margaret said and gave you her phone number.

He offered her a scrap of paper and pen so she did not have to speak aloud. "Thank you."

"I know there is a risk of going to Horizon right now, things are rotten to the core, but I can not leave my son alone, with me and his Mentor there once I get a hold of him, should be able to provide Greg and his Cabal some protection." The old woman said then she sigh.
"Yes you are probably right Mr Roth Hicks, it is not a safe place to discuss this, nowhere feels safe at the moment." She muttered. "I do thank you for your concern though.

"If I might suggest speaking to the Chief here, in private."

"Yes Sir, Juliette Maramee Hermes bani Mercere." She said and gave you a slight bow. "I have visited the Chantry you live in before I think, I often deliver ail between Horizon and Northern America here on Earth."

He nodded back to her. "I did think you looked familiar to me."

"Off course be well Mr Roth Hicks." Hans said and turned his attention back to one of the computers again, actually talking to the machine as you left. "Well then my sweet, let us update your firewall shall we...ah here we go, what a good computer you are."

He glanced over his shoulder once and then shut the door behind him. Well, there were spirits of some kind living in those computers somehow. It was not so strange to talk to them, and anyway people talked to pets and inanimate objects sometimes.

You find that the Chief and Colin are still in his office and Adjan have come down as well, they have probably finalized their part of the plan for what needs to get done. Joakim opens the door when you knock. "Ah Mr Roth Hicks come in, we are just about ready to go here, we need to test Colin's rote then we should be able to get our plans into motions."

"Adjan, Colin, sir," he said with a nod and then shut the door firmly behind him. He did not sit down at first but remained standing until he realised he was hovering. "Good to hear there is progress. More complications have arisen on my end," he said. "I think we can try to maximize them as best we can though. I received a call from home on an important lead, but it necessitates my presence due to some...delicate issues. I was thinking that after we have brought my contact's grandchilder to the location, we can possibly be taken together. And I will take the documents at that time, as well. When I call my contact up to finalize it all, I will set up the transfer of them. Mrs Knox has offered assistance and perhaps one more person for backup might be wise, as we're considering allowing an escort.

"There is something else, as well. You might wish to speak to Mrs Bachmeier, sir. She wishes to hastily leave...she just learned from the Mercere in charge of Horizon North American routes that her son was attacked on Horizon again. His cabalmate, our Housemate, Ian was badly wounded I assume protecting him, though exactly how grave it is not known. They said he was taken to the Etherite hospital."

@ Anja - have a great camping trip!

"I wish the circumstances were better," he said and took her hand briefly.

"Thank you Mr Roth Hicks, I wish so as well."
The old Orphan said and firmly shook your hand.

"I see," he said with a shake of his head.

"Hopefully the young Hermetic will recover, he got hurt protecting my son, I owe him a great debt."
Margaret said and frowned.

He offered her a scrap of paper and pen so she did not have to speak aloud. "Thank you."

Margaret took the scrap of paper and quickly wrote down her number and handed it back to you.

"If I might suggest speaking to the Chief here, in private."

"That might be a good idea, I think I will follow your advice young man, thank you."
The old Orphan said and nodded.

He nodded back to her. "I did think you looked familiar to me."

"Yes I have seen you in your Chantry in Boston, it is nice to formally meet you."
Juliette said and nodded.
"Well if you excuse me I heard that my House's Chantry here in Boston had been attacked and that my Housemates where wounded, I would like to visit them before I have to head out again, I have more Chantries on my rounds before I head to the Umbra docks."
She said with a worried frown on her face, Juliette was not pleased about the news she had heard about the Post Office.

"Adjan, Colin, sir," he said with a nod and then shut the door firmly behind him. He did not sit down at first but remained standing until he realised he was hovering.

Adjan gave you a nod of greeting and the Chief offered a slight smile before he sat back down behind his desk, with four mages in here the small office was rather crowded, Joakim seamed to share your Mentor's taste in a small, simple office without many luxuries.

"Well I have agreed to help Colin with his...what did he call it? Retrieval mission or I would go with you Adley."
The Euthanatos said and nodded he looked concerned though about what might be wrong back home now.
"I will send one of the Sentinels with you Mr Roth Hicks."
Joakim said.
"And I am sure it should be possible to arrange to have both you and your charge sent to Steelhaven if your presence is required there."
He added.

Joakim frowned at that.
"Hum...I will have to catch a word with the woman before she leaves then. I might be able to talk my Deacons into letting her son take refuge here at Morningstar for a while if he is in danger on Horizon."
He said then he sigh.
"Ian McLochlainn yes I know the kid's pater, it is a shame the boy got hurt then again he is living true to our House if he was injured protecting a member of his Cabal, that is our duty my young Sodalis to lay our lives down for others."
The old hedge wizard said proudly.
"I will have to send a letter and inquire about young Mr Ian McLochlainn's condition."
He muttered and made a note of that on his to do list in his notebook.

(OOC: Thank you I will let you guys know when we will be going, right now it is rain, rain, nothing but rain, but hopefully there will be better weather over the weekend.)

Colin smiled thinly, "When I grew up, it was called Czhechoslovakia; it was generally assumed that it was a shit country for anyone not a member of the Communist Party at the time. I suppose things have changed only very slightly in that regard..."
He grinned wryly, "The fellow does seem to have a will of his own. Thank God."
He nodded and gave Adjan a firm handshake, "We have an accord. Beforehand, though, will you be starting with theory, or jump straight into practical trials? Seeing as, you know, I can't cross the threshold on my own."
Colin frowned, "Complications? Hum, requiring you specifically suggests it concerns Beatrice... Right, I just taught Adjan the scrambling rote... If we can get the timing right, we can extricate the Fallen girl from hospital while you collect the mail and the vampire you were asked to care for, then we can team up to spring Carmon, and send you home with the lot before the assault on the Labyrinth... While it might go against your instincts and training, what with the specific circumstances we uncovered, you just might want to sit that one out."
He frowned, "Mr. Bachmeier was attacked? Bugger, I was afraid something might happen... Things seem to be coming to a boil everywhere..."

((OOC: No, not a magical railroad. The prototype is a handcart. There may be the development of a steam engine at some point, or some magical form of locomotion, but for now it's completely muscle-powered, though with fairly complex gearing to get a substantial improvement over just dragging the wagons along the tracks. And of course the Drunken Hero's hymns are more like drinking songs, since every tavern is his temple. Smile ))

Colin smiled thinly, "When I grew up, it was called Czhechoslovakia; it was generally assumed that it was a shit country for anyone not a member of the Communist Party at the time. I suppose things have changed only very slightly in that regard..."

"It still was called Czhechoslovakia when I was a small child but while the upheaval as it declared independence brought some problems, even if it was peaceful it did also make some things better but yes my parents where Communists and while I do not ascribe to that ideology they had good lives, I do not know my step father's political standings though, he married my mother after my father died in a accident at his workplace, but I know he was a first grade asshole."
Adjan said and his eyes turned dark.
"He was the first man I ever killed..."
He added softly then he sigh and added.
"But yes it is not the most free thinking nation in the world."

He grinned wryly, "The fellow does seem to have a will of his own. Thank God."

"They all do, but some of them seam to be in more of a habit of expressing it than others."
The Euthanatos said with a slight grin.

He nodded and gave Adjan a firm handshake, "We have an accord. Beforehand, though, will you be starting with theory, or jump straight into practical trials? Seeing as, you know, I can't cross the threshold on my own."

"We will start with theory, then I will help you get into the Umbra and back into the physical world so we can get some practice in as well."
Adjan said.
"I do think that would be the best way to do it."

Colin frowned, "Complications? Hum, requiring you specifically suggests it concerns Beatrice...

Adjan gave his two Chantrymates a concerned look when Colin mentioned that the complications probably involved the unfortunate young Verbena, he did consider the girl to be a friend and in her condition surly complications would not be good for her, he did not ask though, if Adley did not give details there had to be a reason for it.

Right, I just taught Adjan the scrambling rote... If we can get the timing right, we can extricate the Fallen girl from hospital while you collect the mail and the vampire you were asked to care for, then we can team up to spring Carmon, and send you home with the lot before the assault on the Labyrinth...

"Yes if you and Mr Terach go and find Mr Willies, Master Harris' young student and ask him to help you with the situation with the Nephandi girl, I will call Miri and ask to borrow her van and then contact someone to send with Mr Roth Hicks and Mrs Knox on their assignment..."
Joakim said.
"Or is there anything else you would need before we get these missions underway...ah Mr Roth Hicks do you still have those magick suppressing cuffs or did I get those back, Mr Wainwright will need that or some of that foul serum to control the Nephandi girl once they spring her."

He frowned, "Mr. Bachmeier was attacked? Bugger, I was afraid something might happen... Things seem to be coming to a boil everywhere..."

"It is as if all of mage society is going crazy..."
Adjan grumbled.
"Sooner or later we need to cut this corruption from our core like a surgeon would a cancerous growth."

"That might be a good idea, I think I will follow your advice young man, thank you." The old Orphan said and nodded

"I'll let him know to expect to hear from you, excuse me please."

"Well if you excuse me I heard that my House's Chantry here in Boston had been attacked and that my Housemates where wounded, I would like to visit them before I have to head out again, I have more Chantries on my rounds before I head to the Umbra docks." She said with a worried frown on her face, Juliette was not pleased about the news she had heard about the Post Office.

"The Chicago docks?"

"Well I have agreed to help Colin with his...what did he call it? Retrieval mission or I would go with you Adley." The Euthanatos said and nodded he looked concerned though about what might be wrong back home now.

Adley smiled a bit to Adjan as he offered to help him. "Thank you, but the Chief already has offered assistance and, well. I was sort of the one to mention you could at least help him find someone to cover his ass when it came to spiritual difficulties."

"I will send one of the Sentinels with you Mr Roth Hicks." Joakim said. "And I am sure it should be possible to arrange to have both you and your charge sent to Steelhaven if your presence is required there." He added.

"Thank you sir, I would appreciate that. Hm...it would help to split the effort, I would not wish to put your teleporters in worse shape but it is a good lead to follow upon and our own Adepts have been quite busy. Perhaps you should confer with Mr Harris and then let me know, or my pater know. Right now we're considering teleportation as well."

"Hum...I will have to catch a word with the woman before she leaves then. I might be able to talk my Deacons into letting her son take refuge here at Morningstar for a while if he is in danger on Horizon." He said then he sigh.

"From what I understand, his pater is a rather powerful mage. It's troubling."

"Ian McLochlainn yes I know the kid's pater, it is a shame the boy got hurt then again he is living true to our House if he was injured protecting a member of his Cabal, that is our duty my young Sodalis to lay our lives down for others." The old hedge wizard said proudly.

"Yes sir."

"I will have to send a letter and inquire about young Mr Ian McLochlainn's condition." He muttered and made a note of that on his to do list in his notebook.

"Ah, speaking of letters there is a Mercere here as I said, she's checking on her House mates though I thought you should know. Mrs Maramee...I'd be cautious about sending inquiries, but yes I'd like to know how he is myself."

He tilted his head at Colin and gave a short nod. "Yes, it appears that after that ordeal she does not respond well to common Hermetic vocal commands, though I seem to be an exception and so my assistance is required to assist in following a lead. I would appreciate your help with Carmon, Colin but as for sending me home, you're right, I don't like it all but it's not necessarily against my training. I realise that puts me in something of a...resource category. I don't -want- to sit it out, but we should take into consideration those facts and of course orders of the Chief here. As long as I can be of use, and not make the situation more difficult," he added grudgingly. "Even so, the Elder is not coming home, he is...hopefully finding refuge elsewhere."

He frowned, "Mr. Bachmeier was attacked? Bugger, I was afraid something might happen... Things seem to be coming to a boil everywhere..."

"Indeed, I don't like it."

"It is as if all of mage society is going crazy..." Adjan grumbled. "Sooner or later we need to cut this corruption from our core like a surgeon would a cancerous growth."

"I think it might have always been crazy, I just wasn't aware of it."

"Or is there anything else you would need before we get these missions underway...ah Mr Roth Hicks do you still have those magick suppressing cuffs or did I get those back, Mr Wainwright will need that or some of that foul serum to control the Nephandi girl once they spring her."

"Colin, you should also have a pair I gave you when you saw that vampire when we were in the car. I have the other pair, and Mr Harris was given a rather nasty Nephandic version that was used on the Mercere." He frowned. "It seems similar in principle but...cuts into the wrists. I just need the name of the assistant Enforcer you mentioned," I believe."

"I'll let him know to expect to hear from you, excuse me please."

"Thank you Mr Roth Hicks, and off course, it was nice meeting you."
The old woman said politely and gave you a nod of her head as you left.

"The Chicago docks?"

"Yes, there is a small Umbral dock on top of a high rise in town, it is not big enough to land larger ships but it works for it's purpose, it is controlled by Chantry Lavender, I am not sure if you are familiar with them Sir?"
Juliette said as she glanced at you.

Adley smiled a bit to Adjan as he offered to help him. "Thank you, but the Chief already has offered assistance and, well. I was sort of the one to mention you could at least help him find someone to cover his ass when it came to spiritual difficulties."

"Ah I see so it is you I have to blame for it."
Adjan joked.
"Very well, since I can not assist both of you gentlemen, I will try to keep Colin out of trouble then...hard as that might be."
He said and added a small grin.

"I will speak with Master Harris, so far he seam to have avoided the worst brunt of Paradox, I will ask if he can help with getting you and your charge to Boston safely, we also have his apprentice and a few others that can move across wast distances, including a linear mage, but with him, teleportation takes a bit of time as he literary jumps in seven mile strides, then again we also have the Hermes portal here, but I think bringing one more vampire to Morningstar should be avoided in this case."
Joakim agreed.

"From what I understand, his pater is a rather powerful mage. It's troubling."

"The young widderslainte boy's pater? Yes he is, he is a highly requested negotiator though, so he might not have been on Horizon to protect his student at this moment, or where you referring to young Ian McLochlainn's Mentor, who also packs quite a punch, the man usually do well in our House's yearly competition."
Joakim said and nodded.
"And yes it is troubling indeed."
He said with a frown.

"Ah, speaking of letters there is a Mercere here as I said, she's checking on her House mates though I thought you should know. Mrs Maramee...I'd be cautious about sending inquiries, but yes I'd like to know how he is myself."

Joakim gave you a stern look.
"You do have a habit of taking on the roll of lecturer when it comes to caution do you not young man, I have been taking care of the security for this Chantry for some time now you know."
He said with another frown then he nodded.
"I know of Mrs Maramee, she often delivers mail here I will send a letter with her, and yes I will be most careful, but it will not raise eyebrows for one Flambeau to ask about the well being of another."

He tilted his head at Colin and gave a short nod. "Yes, it appears that after that ordeal she does not respond well to common Hermetic vocal commands,

"It makes a sad kind of sense that Bee should develop such a fear after...that..."
Adjan said softly.
"Poor child."

I don't -want- to sit it out, but we should take into consideration those facts and of course orders of the Chief here. As long as I can be of use, and not make the situation more difficult," he added grudgingly. "Even so, the Elder is not coming home, he is...hopefully finding refuge elsewhere."

"We will have to see how long the various tasks that needs doing will take Mr Roth Hicks, and since you know the vampire you might be quite useful at such a mission, we might be able to get you home to Boston to assist in calming your poor Cabalmate and back here before we move to rescue the Tremere elder. You have arranged refuge for him then? Or do you need anything more from me in that regard?"
Joakim asked.

"I think it might have always been crazy, I just wasn't aware of it."

"You might be right Adley, I guess that now that we have lost or blessed ignorance we will have to do something about it then, but one problem at the time."
Adjan said and gave you a small smile.

"Cuts into the wrists, now that do sound nasty."
Joakim said then he raised an eyebrow.
"Who are you referring to, ah please forgive me, there have just been so much information going either witch way and I think I am getting old..."
The hedge wizard said sounding tired.
"Where you referring to this Tribunal's Senior Quesitor James Alister Min? Or some other Enforcer?"
He asked and lifted one hand to rub his eyes.

"Yes, there is a small Umbral dock on top of a high rise in town, it is not big enough to land larger ships but it works for it's purpose, it is controlled by Chantry Lavender, I am not sure if you are familiar with them Sir?" Juliette said as she glanced at you.

"I see, well do travel safely..."

"Ah I see so it is you I have to blame for it." Adjan joked. "Very well, since I can not assist both of you gentlemen, I will try to keep Colin out of trouble then...hard as that might be." He said and added a small grin.

"So it seems."

Joakim said and nodded. "And yes it is troubling indeed."

"I meant Mr Bachmeir."

Joakim gave you a stern look. "You do have a habit of taking on the roll of lecturer when it comes to caution do you not young man, I have been taking care of the security for this Chantry for some time now you know."

His face reddened a touch again and he withdrew his hands to the empty cup he was holding. "Yes, of course. I know you have. I rather think it's...yes, it's trying to become a habit, not the best one, I recognize. I suppose it might sound as if I am lecturing, but I'm not. At any rate I don't mean to offend you; I apologize, sir."

He looked thoughtful as he tried to determine what exactly it was that hadn't gotten burnt away and that kept cropping up. Fear, worry...no, not precisely, he was of course concerned but it wasn't the same as just worry, so what was it? He turned the cup around and around...trust? No...well, yes and no. He trusted this man and not very many other factors surrounding half of their problems. He reached out and put the cup down on a nearby area and sat back, waiting for it to click. Control. Lack of control, not just risk, but yes that was a part of it. Then the words came out, almost as an effort to put some control back in his mind, arrange things, hear it bounced back. Arrange it or rearrange it. Scolding as reassurance was not bound to be pleasant for 600 year old magii though, as he was discovering repeatedly. He looked back over at Joakim as he continued to speak.

"I know of Mrs Maramee, she often delivers mail here I will send a letter with her, and yes I will be most careful, but it will not raise eyebrows for one Flambeau to ask about the well being of another."

"True enough, I hope he is not badly harmed."

"Mrs Knox said she would see about taking him to France, as we discussed. I suppose then the question becomes what to do with him until that time, if she does not take him right away. And I believe Colin was speaking about potentially attacking Abigail's labyrinth later on, when it came to...me 'sitting it out.' But that I should be able to make it back to assist with freeing Carmon. Which reminds me I will later need some time to contact your friends and ask them if they can help us."

"You might be right Adley, I guess that now that we have lost or blessed ignorance we will have to do something about it then, but one problem at the time." Adjan said and gave you a small smile

"Lost blessed ignorance...saying it that way makes it sound like innocence. But yes, you're right."

"Who are you referring to, ah please forgive me, there have just been so much information going either witch way and I think I am getting old..." The hedge wizard said sounding tired. "Where you referring to this Tribunal's Senior Quesitor James Alister Min? Or some other Enforcer?"

"I misspoke, pardon. I meant the person that you said would accompany me, unless you feel Mrs Knox is sufficient? Considering how exerting earlier was for her though it might not go amiss to have one other as backup."

Devon:

Chief Morgan considered for a moment.
"You have traveled far today, and are about to settle in to a new Chantry Mr Miles, I should let you rest. If you wish to work though we have prisoners that needs guarding and to few people to rotate on the job as well as doing other tasks, I fear it is boring work though, just making sure nothing is amiss and checking on the prisoner from time to time to make sure they have not tried to harm themselves, or that their bonds have cut of circulation as well as making sure they are given food and water when there is need and that they can relieve themselves with some dignity...if you want to help out I will gladly accept the help but you do not have to."
The old mage said as he regarded the young Etherite.

Adley:

"I see, well do travel safely..."

"Thank you Sir, you stay safe as well. If you will excuse me."
Juliette said, she gave you a kind smile and then walked of to find someone who could take her to the infirmary.

"Thank you, that would be appreciated, sir."

Joakim nodded.
"Our two Chantries are in this together now, I am sure everyone at Morningstar will do what they can to help."

"I meant Mr Bachmeir."

"I see, well I do not know the man well, but he have visited Chicago once trying to negotiate between us and Lavender, he is a good man but he is obviously called away from his home on Horizon quite a bit."

Joakim regarded the young Hermetic for a while as he apologized then he nodded.
"Very well, and I do not think you mean to offend but be wary of your words, I am in the eyes of the Traditions just a hedge wizard, I am given some status by my position here at Morningstar, but for the most part I stand beside if not below the regular hierarchy of the Traditions, and I am also not the easiest man to anger, but for some older magi, they might react badly to such words and that might put you in danger Mr Roth Hicks, and I do not want anything bad to happen to you, it would devastate your old Mentor."
The linear mage warned in a soft tone of voice.

"True enough, I hope he is not badly harmed."

"I hope so as well, we can not afford to loose our young to a foolish attack."
The old hedge wizard muttered.

"Mrs Knox said she would see about taking him to France, as we discussed. I suppose then the question becomes what to do with him until that time, if she does not take him right away.

"I see...well you can ask her when she is planning to take the Massassa elder to France if she is able to, until such time as she do...it is best to take the vampire here I guess, but keep him staked, he might know some things useful to us...so we might want to let him speak but I am skeptical about giving him back control over his own body and powers as we do not know the extent of them, but yes if Mrs Knox do not take him with her right away bring him here."
Joakim instructed.

And I believe Colin was speaking about potentially attacking Abigail's labyrinth later on, when it came to...me 'sitting it out.' But that I should be able to make it back to assist with freeing Carmon. Which reminds me I will later need some time to contact your friends and ask them if they can help us."

"I see, well first problem first, for now let us focus on freeing their Carmon and getting this Nephandi girl and then getting back here to plan out our next move, to much can happen to plan to far into the future, as for the brothers, what if you contact them while I set things up with Mirri and Master Harris?"
Joakim suggested.

"Lost blessed ignorance...saying it that way makes it sound like innocence. But yes, you're right."

"In a way it is innocence but more it is naivete which can often be confused with innocence, however to my mind the only way innocence can truly be lost is if one learn of rot in one's midst and once naivete is gone one do not act but rather bury one's head in the sand..."
Adjan said and sigh.
"However what our small Chantry will be able to do, I do not know..."

"I misspoke, pardon. I meant the person that you said would accompany me, unless you feel Mrs Knox is sufficient? Considering how exerting earlier was for her though it might not go amiss to have one other as backup."

"No it was me not explaining, I guess not all Chantries have a Sentinel Cabal and I did not explain the term I am sorry. Often when young mages from a Cabal and seek to join an established Chantry, especially a powerful Autumn one like Morningstar, they serve some years as Sentinels before they become full members. Much like new pledges in a fraternity of a collage they are often given the most tiresome and least desired tasks and they also serve as security guard for the Chantry they are joining at it's Nodes. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement, the Chantry get cheap labor, and the new Cabal get to join a powerful Chantry with much potential for study and off course the protection such a home offers."
Joakim explained.
"I am sending one of our Sentinels with you, I just have to contact Theo their Cabal leader to see who among them are available at the moment, he or she should be ready to go when you and Mrs Knox are."

"One is a captured Nephandus, he is a foul mouthed beast, be careful of him but even if he makes the most horrid insults do not fall to the temptation of hurting him, I want the prisoners treated well mind you."
The old Hermetic said.
"One is a member of this Chantry who betrayed us...he is going to Horizon to face trial...one is a Marauder, she means well but was used in her insanity by the Fallen to attack us, she only speaks Latin though so she might not understand you and one..."
Jeffry sigh.
"One is my new apprentice...he is a widderslainte I hope the Nine will see mercy in when he have a powerful mentor to control and guide him, we will see. I however do not want strangers around him if you will allow me to say so. Speak with whoever is on guard duty right now about which prisoner you will be assigned to watch."
The old mage instructed.

Colin frowned, "I gather, then, you've never gone back..."
He frowned, "Bugger, I never got the serum back in the confusion after the clinic... I believe your good doctor has it still."
He nodded to Adley, smiling thinly, "It was a fairly simple guess - there's really very little I can think of that would get Chief Morgan to recall you so urgently when you're on a mission of this magnitude. Hum... Depending on how quickly we can procure the girl, I might be able to lend firepower for the prison break, too..."
He patted his pockets with a frown, "Well, so it seems, one spare pair of handcuffs. That should be adequate for the girl..."
He grimaced, "Well, no point in stalling or anything... Young mr. Willis, was it? Apprentice to Master Harris? With a little luck, the trip to an isolated location, teleportation of the girl, and the drive back shouldn't take much more than, oh, half an hour, perhaps? We could do that, hand over the girl and join the prison break... Hm, is mr. Willis old enough to drive? We might need someone who knows the streets to drive."

((OOC: I can think of many accurate descriptions for Diego's vocal nature, but "foul mounted beast" was a bit unexpected. What would ever want to mount him? Wink ))

Colin frowned, "I gather, then, you've never gone back..."

"I have gone to visit my sister, but if you are referring to my crime, I served my time, four years in a youth rehabilitation center, it was worth it though, and one of the teachers at that center became my Mentor and Awakened me, I learned that some people...have to die."
Adjan said softly and looked down at his hands.

He frowned, "Bugger, I never got the serum back in the confusion after the clinic... I believe your good doctor has it still."

"Ah, if you would ask him to return it then Mr Wainwright, or do you want me to send him a message about it?"

Depending on how quickly we can procure the girl, I might be able to lend firepower for the prison break, too..."
He patted his pockets with a frown, "Well, so it seems, one spare pair of handcuffs. That should be adequate for the girl..."

"Very well, having you along are sure to be a boon Mr Wainwright."
Joakim said and nodded.
"Well then I guess we have what we need to get the retrival mission under way just as soon as I arrange things with Mr Willies and Mirri."

"Joe Willies is oh...twenty something...twenty two I think so yes, he can drive."
Joakim said and nodded.
"Let me make those calls then and do the divination on the shell casing while you two get ready."
The Security Chief said to you and Adjan.
"Hopefully yes it will not take very long...hum...perhaps talking to Mr Horten is a good idea since we do not know how hurt the Nephandi child still is, she might need his help once you get her here."

Colin shook his head slowly, "No, I meant in the sense of going back to visit. It's good, then, that you're at least able to go back to visit, legal status notwithstanding. In the same sense that I don't think I can ever go back to Iraq; too much pain."
He frowned, "I don't know where mr. Horton is right now - probably gone to bed like sane people. It might be better if you send him a message, than for me to go searching. For that matter, I suppose the same thing applies to mr. Willies. I don't think we'll need the serum for the retrieval, though - but it might be good to have handy when we return to the Chantry; it'll be easier to handle a pair of handcuffs safely than a syringe inside a van, should there be a scuffle."
He pinched the bridge of his nose, "I'm pretty much as ready as I can be, in any case... A splash of water on my face, and I should be pretty much ready to move at a moment's notice. Getting a couple of days' sleep did help in that regard."

"I can visit my sister, but like with most Awakened, not only do my contact with sleeper family put them in danger, but it is hard to relate to them...they just do not understand...well anyway I do not visit often, I do not want to endanger them and there are some non to pleasant memories waiting for me there."
Adjan said and sigh.
"It is not traumatic like your experiences in Iraq though."
He added respectfully.

He frowned, "I don't know where mr. Horton is right now - probably gone to bed like sane people. It might be better if you send him a message, than for me to go searching. "You are right it is probably not a good idea to use the serum in the car and beside handcuffs are more humane, I do not want to cause the girl any pain if I can avoid it...not before she is sent to Horizon..."
Joakim said with a dark look in his eyes.
"I will send a message to Mr Horton then, as for Mr Willis I can not imagine he have gone to bed yet, but I can send another text to him and ask him to meet you in the lobby and you can explain the situation to him."

He pinched the bridge of his nose, "I'm pretty much as ready as I can be, in any case... A splash of water on my face, and I should be pretty much ready to move at a moment's notice. Getting a couple of days' sleep did help in that regard."

"Yes that might be practical indeed Mr Wainwright, then again you needed the rest. Very well then, if you and Mr Terach go to the lobby when you are ready I will send Joe Willies there."
The Security Chief said.
"And stay safe both of you...good luck."

"Yes, it does appear that these Nephandic cells have been working together a long while. It's good that we have some support from one another."

"Agreed."
Joakim said and gave a warm smile.

"I have been taught to appreciate hedge wizardry as they was appreciated in the past, it seems. But yes, it's something I'll try to look out for, though it crops up when I am stressed and feeling as if there is too much to do, I believe." He frowned a touch deeper as he mentioned his mentor.

"I noticed, you and your Chantrymates have treated me and my kind here at Morningstar with much respect and I do appreciate it."
Joakim said approvingly.
"I understand young man, just make sure you do not get yourself into to much trouble."

"I believe she has to talk to her husband first. Sir, is it possible for the other Tremere or the Nephandi to use Carmon to get a foothold? Or, a way to prevent that from happening, aside from wards. Perhaps a talisman or something," he asked.

"I see, off course, let me know what Mrs Knox says when she have spoken with her husband...as for the Tremere Elder we can work magick to disspell any tracking magick on him and work on removing arcane connections and yes we can then work some protection magick on him to hide him from their senses and magick."
Joakim said and nodded.
"It should not be to complicated."

"Very well. If you wish to speak to Mrs Knox, she's expecting one of us to contact her as well. Thank you sir."

"Ah yes it seams I am acquiring quite a list of people to contact I am starting to feel like a hobby Mercere here."
Joakim said with a bit of a wry grin.
"I will send Mrs Knox a message and tell her to come down to the lobby then?"

"Naivete...yes."

Adjan nodded at that.

"Sentinel, that was the word I was thinking of, I don't know why I got them confused. But yes that seems a common system to use."

"Well it is a system that works."
The old hedge wizard said and smiles.

"I just saw Mr Willis sent on an errand though he might be back. Very well then, I will speak with the elementals while these other matters are being taken care of. And then I will call my contact back for her to get them ready to leave, if that sounds like the plan?"

"That do sound like a plan, I will ask for whoever Theo sends to meet you in the lobby when you are ready to go, you can take my car for now."
The old linear mage said and tossed you the car keys.
"It should do the job of getting you there and is not something that will stand out."

He nodded to Joakim, "Very well, then, we'll wait in the lobby for mr. Willies and an answer about the van. If you'll excuse me, then, I have to make a brief detour."
He pocketed the pistol, picked up the bag of muffins - a couple left still, yes? - bowed politely, and headed to the restroom to... take care of business and splash some cold water on his face before rejoining Adjan in the lobby.

"It is nothing that is not yours, due sir. But as for not getting into too much trouble, you'll find that your warning is a bit too late, considering this week," he said in a wry tone.

"I see, off course, let me know what Mrs Knox says when she have spoken with her husband...as for the Tremere Elder we can work magick to disspell any tracking magick on him and work on removing arcane connections and yes we can then work some protection magick on him to hide him from their senses and magick." Joakim said and nodded. "It should not be to complicated."

"That's good to hear. I know that Verbena use blood and having had a look at a massasa and what the Nephandi are trying to use him for," he said, with a scowl, "I was concerned that by the state of his blood it would bring complications. Very well, then."

"Ah yes it seams I am acquiring quite a list of people to contact I am starting to feel like a hobby Mercere here." Joakim said with a bit of a wry grin. "I will send Mrs Knox a message and tell her to come down to the lobby then?"

"I know the feeling. I can contact her when I'm done if you'd prefer, I wasn't sure if you wanted a word with her. But it might be easier to communicate with Mr Harris and our side on the transportation just to avoid some back and forth of relaying. Let me know."

"That do sound like a plan, I will ask for whoever Theo sends to meet you in the lobby when you are ready to go, you can take my car for now." The old linear mage said and tossed you the car keys. "It should do the job of getting you there and is not something that will stand out."

He caught the keys and pocketed them. "Thank you. I should start on this, then before something else turns up." He stood up, giving him a short bow and then turned to his friends. "Good luck to you both, I hope to see you soon," he said and went to exit the room. Back downstairs again, up and down, back and forth...the Mercere were good at their trade and one could see how much time and effort a halfway decently secure communications system was worth in time alone.

Colin:

Colin took a deep breath, remembering post-mission revelations, "It's not that I got shot down that is the problem... it's knowing that not everything I destroyed there was... well, suffice to say, not everyone who dies in a war is a soldier, or a legal target..."

"I understand...I have never been to war, but I have taken lives and while most of them I am sure the world are better without, there are those I wonder about."
Adjan said softly then he looked at Colin.
"Ah...forgive me for bringing up bad memories."

He nodded to Joakim, "Very well, then, we'll wait in the lobby for mr. Willies and an answer about the van. If you'll excuse me, then, I have to make a brief detour."

"Very well, good luck Mr Wainwright, Mr Terach."
Joakim said.
"Come back alive, and try to be as kind to the girl once you have her as you can, she is a Nephandus but she is also a child, we can at least try not to make this worse for her than it have to be."
The old hedge wizard instructed.

He pocketed the pistol, picked up the bag of muffins - a couple left still, yes? - bowed politely, and headed to the restroom to... take care of business and splash some cold water on his face before rejoining Adjan in the lobby.

There where plenty of muffins left, Mirri had been quite generous. By the time you returned to the lobby after taking care of private affairs you see that Adjan stand talking with a short, frail looking young man, Joakim had said the boy was in his early twenties but he looked younger, his hair was short and dyed white blond, he was cute with big, blue eyes and a bright smile and wearing a tshirt with anime print, a blue jacket and blue jeans, you remember having seen the kid when you first arrived at Morningstar but you had not talked with him.
"Hi..."
The boy said when he saw you.
"I am Joe...well Joe Willis bani Virtual Adepts if you want the whole formal thing, but Joe will do."
He said and smiles to Colin.

Adley:

"It is nothing that is not yours, due sir. But as for not getting into too much trouble, you'll find that your warning is a bit too late, considering this week," he said in a wry tone.

"Ah yes...you may be right there."
The old linear mage said and grinned.
"Trouble do seam to find all of us on it's own do it not? And thank you, your kindness to unawakened mages are still appreciated."

"That's good to hear. I know that Verbena use blood and having had a look at a massasa and what the Nephandi are trying to use him for," he said, with a scowl, "I was concerned that by the state of his blood it would bring complications. Very well, then."

"It could, but we should be able to ward against it, now off course one can never be sure, there is always someone who can cast a more powerful spell, but I think we should be able to secure this Tremere and this Chantry fairly well from outside influence."

"I know the feeling. I can contact her when I'm done if you'd prefer, I wasn't sure if you wanted a word with her. But it might be easier to communicate with Mr Harris and our side on the transportation just to avoid some back and forth of relaying. Let me know."

"Well as far as I know all you need do about Mrs Knox is tell her that you are ready to go, so if you take care of that young man, I will contact the rest and make the other arrangements."
Joakim said and nodded.
"Yes it is often easier for one person to handle things to avoid allot of back and forth and wasting time that way."

He caught the keys and pocketed them. "Thank you. I should start on this, then before something else turns up." He stood up, giving him a short bow and then turned to his friends. "Good luck to you both, I hope to see you soon," he said and went to exit the room.

"Very well, good luck Mr Roth Hicks and be careful, if I return you to your mentor with scratches he will have my hide."
Joakim joked. Adjan nods to Adley.
"Good luck my friend, may we all return to this Chantry safely with our tasks successfully done."

Devon:

"Thank you, and if you could direct me to your holding facility." asks Devon and after he gets the info proceeds there

"If you go out of this office, cross the hall and then the find the door to the cellar, it is the right hallway in the cellar, we do not really have cells Mr Miles, we have one for when our own members are in Quiet, most of the prisoners are in storage rooms, ask for directions from those who are already on guard duty, and thank you for your help."
Jeffry Morgan said and gave the young Etherite a nod of his head.

(OOC: Me and my mother will be taking a drive to Sweden today so I might not be able to reply again before this evening when we come back.)

You get to the basement, once you are down the stairs you get to two doors, when walking in the one that Chief Morgan told you about you come to a long corridor filled with wooden doors, you see several people down her, seemingly guarding four of the doors. One of the guards, a older woman with gray hair step towards you, she is neatly dressed in a gray business suit and pink blouse.
"So Chief Morgan sent you young man? Forgive me but who are you, I have not seen you around before, are you the young Etherite I heard where going to come to live at this Chantry?"
The woman asks.

" I am indeed, My name is Miles, Devon Miles" Devon introduces himself, " How may i be of assistance?" As he asks he checks out the other people in the corridor, to see their reaction.. and to assess what their capabilties are based on what they are doing... or how they are armed

Colin smiled, a little sadly, "Don't worry about it. My ghosts usually rear their heads a few times every month. It might be a little unsettling, but I'm used to it by now."
He nodded to Joakim, "I'll be as gentle as I can. I just hope she won't be too upset to see me again..."
Returning to the lobby, he grinned to Joe and reached out to shake his hand, "Good to meet you, son. Colin Wainwright. Colin Wainwright of Steelhaven Hall if you want thw whole formal thing, but Colin will do nicely. You can teleport a person to you from long distance? I have a drawing of her, and we know which hospital she is in..."
