Colin wrote:He grinned, "Oh, we're all specialists, of sort, but I think you're the only one of us who excels in the subconscious. At the very least, while the rest of us can convince people to surrender, I believe you're the only one here who can pull off an Inception, and make them believe it was their own idea..."

"I wanna pull of a real Inception. As in breaking into someone dreams and messing around." he said with a chuckle, "Doubt that'll be needed this mission though. I'll stick to the normal stuff."

Anja wrote:"The vampire will be all but helpless during the day so it is more likely that Miss Andersson will go do check out what disturbed her wards herself, possibly bringing this bouncer of theirs with her in case of trouble."
Adjan replied.
"And I agree talking with her outside might be better but how are we thinking to do that Mr Yeager?"
Colin wrote:He nodded, "I concur; she'll likely investigate the tripped wards with the head bouncer, not run to the basement... the poor girl, on the other hand, will head straight for her Mistress."

"Tripping the wards will cause her to move. I could manipulate the movement of the employees as they leave to block her path and cause her to eventually come outside where we could have a nice chat with her." he suggested. "Since I wouldn't be affecting her mind directly, there's less of a chance she'll notice something a miss. I could also makes sure she's alone."

Anja wrote:Well the squiggels did look protective and perhaps warning, and they could be Chaos Magick symbols made from sentences and statements then reduced to a few letters and then a symbols made out of that.
Colin wrote:He looked over Serge's shoulder, "The symbols might not be the important thing to look at here. She'll be put in a Mercere's care, suggesting her work has Hermetic roots. The blue glass bowl and the dagger might be a more enlightening clue..."
Anja wrote:"Well there is several things you might use a blue glass bowl for, anything that have a correspondenc with blue, hum...more modern Hermetics associate the color with Hermes and with communication often along with yellow...a dagger is used in so many things it is hard to get much out of that. Jupiter is more commonly associeated with blue which to fit for making wards."
Jffry mushed.

"I can't see anything special about it. Symbols of Protection. Warnings. The Chaos Magick symbols freak me out a bit though. Last thing we need is to walk into the nightclub and suddenly have every vampire in there wake up in a raging frenzy."

"I wanna pull of a real Inception. As in breaking into someone dreams and messing around." he said with a chuckle, "Doubt that'll be needed this mission though. I'll stick to the normal stuff."

"Well keeping it simple tend to give things a better chance of working kid."
Ryan said.
"But yes we all have our areas of expertise in this mission and that include you."

"Tripping the wards will cause her to move. "Since I wouldn't be affecting her mind directly, there's less of a chance she'll notice something a miss. I could also makes sure she's alone."

"There is not that many employees Serge, not nearly enough for a crowd to push someone somehwere, if the two pepole in the hallway with you narrow in on you to push you towards the outside yes you will notice something is amiss unless you are a dimwit."
Fran commented.
"I mean it is like ten or twelve employees at all and there will be far less there during the day that is not a crowd that could manipulare someone without it being very, very obious."

"I can't see anything special about it. Symbols of Protection. Warnings. The Chaos Magick symbols freak me out a bit though. Last thing we need is to walk into the nightclub and suddenly have every vampire in there wake up in a raging frenzy."

"I guess one could do that with a ward...but it is more likely that tripping the wards will warn Oda something is going wrong since you do not want to wake up every vampire who might be at the club in a frenzy if one of the kinksters some to the nightclub for a nightcap happen to be a hedge wizard."
Ryan said.
"Chaos magick symbols are pretty easy...look here, let us say I...want to move faster, I write up I move fast...on a piece of paper like this, then I remove repeating letters and vovels so I am left with MVFST, then I make a symbol out of that and I chanrge it in some way to get it into my subconsious mind, drugs, mastrubation, eating a cookie whatever give you that meditative state and a high and boom magick."
The older Etherite explained before showing the younger Cultist his squiggle.
"You can make them far more elegant and artist off course.

Anja wrote:As the conversation between the former infernalist and Udella continued you went into the bedroom to check on Flavian, the Hermetic sat on the bed looking tired but considerably better than yesterday, his hands was in cuffs in his lap but he was otherwise free to move around. "Hum...it is you...what do you want?"
Colin nodded toward the door, "Just thought I'd see how you're doing, while your, ah, roommate has a word with my attorney. He's in an ever so slightly more precarious situation than you are, having only been an Infernalist working for the Nephandi, and not a Traditionalist... but I think he deserves a second chance, all the same. How is your back? Have the bandages been changed today?"

Anja wrote:"Well since I am constantly being told to find out the names of like three hundred patrons and personal date for each of them and everything there is to know about this person or that hacking into the servers takes a bit longer."
Jon commented sounding a bit stressed.
He patted Jon on the shoulder, "We'll leave the whitewashing to a good consultant, Jon. Doing it out-of-house is probably for the best any which way we look at it... and we need to secure the machines first."

[Steelhaven, 1.30]

Colin nodded toward the door, "Just thought I'd see how you're doing, while your, ah, roommate has a word with my attorney. He's in an ever so slightly more precarious situation than you are, having only been an Infernalist working for the Nephandi, and not a Traditionalist... but I think he deserves a second chance, all the same. How is your back? Have the bandages been changed today?"

"Yes the bandages have been changed and my back is...better it still hurts though."
Flavian said with a sigh.
"Well it is better so now I have a chance to consider how much shit I am actually in, but yes I am better I guess...where did you find the other guy by the way? I have not spoken with him he have slept up until now mostly."

[Briefing, 2.15]

He grinned, though the tone of his voice was a little less chipper than his expression might suggest, "You'll get your chance... just... make sure you're doing it for the right reasons when you do, son. Doing it for the wrong reasons... that'll come back to bite you in the end."

Ryan nodded his agreement to that.

He patted Jon on the shoulder, "We'll leave the whitewashing to a good consultant, Jon. Doing it out-of-house is probably for the best any which way we look at it... and we need to secure the machines first."

"There is two parts to that both making sure they are nto affected remotely until we get there and then physically securing the machines however I was asked to hack into them and I need a bit of consentration for that but when I get new tasks ever other minute that is a bit difficult."
The Virtual Adept grumbeled.

He arched an eyebrow, "Hum, I'd best make a note of that for the shop. Some very... particular cartouches, for lack of a better term, could make for useful Foci like that..."

"Aboslutley it is not uncommon for those who work with Sigils to carve them into tools to set a tool to a purpose, like carving on a dagger a sigil that says with this tool I focus my mind and so on."
Ryan agreed with a nod.

He shrugged, "This is true, but there's no saying it will work better than walnut in this particular case. I can't trust a scattering of wild roses would restrain the woman, either. Not that I know where to find any at this time of year, anyway... Still, it is true, there is something to be said for the classics."

"Type of wood will not matter Mr Wainwright."
Henrietta said.
"But yes going with the classics do show a certain style."
The Hollower added and Hildegard gave a little smile at that.

I hope we can save the man; seems he was only in it for a speck of power, not quite devoted to the Fallen ideals. Who knows, he might even become a decent Linear Mage?"
He smiled thinly, "Well, as for your situation... I suppose it could be worse; it can clearly be interpreted as you desperately trying to worm your way out of an unwanted Infernal pact that was forced upon you by someone you, er, loved and trusted. Oh, and I've had the opportunity to meet Lord Steel face to face; I don't think he likes me very much, oddly enough. That might be because I'm allegedly the world's most irritating Orphan, but we all have our crosses to bear, hmm?"

I hope we can save the man; seems he was only in it for a speck of power, not quite devoted to the Fallen ideals. Who knows, he might even become a decent Linear Mage?"

"Thank you but nothing to strong, it still hurt but is to the point where I can stand it today so I prefer to keep my mind clear."
Flavian said then he nodded.
"He might become a hedge wizard if he survives and someone decide to train him."

"Well you are at that."
The former Infernalist muttered sourly.
"You met Lorrd Steel and survived I am...impressed even if you are just and Orphan, nto many can say the same but yes i wanted out of that pact but...now I am also just a hedge wizard...so yeah loosing that support had it's price."
He muttered sadly.

[Briefing, 2.15]

He nodded, "Well, calling in Alessia for that falls on me, so you get a breather then, at least..."

Jon nodded at that.
"I believe she is still at the Chantry.

He pondered, "The question, of course, being if a purchased, reusable piece will be as potent as drawing up the Sigil by hand each time... well, that comes down to Paradigm, I guess."

"Ys it completely comes down to Paradigm, some work with sigils on permanent object or make large note books with pre made sigils for every need, while others feel a sigil should be made, charged and fired of the forgotten as a one of thign and then the original sigil should be destroyed, both systems work it depend on how you look at things, some use both methods."
Ryan explained.

He smiled wryly, "If we get a Quaesitor on the team, they had best carry a kukri."

"Why a kukri?"
Henrietta asked.
"And why spesifically a Quesitor with a kukri?"

Colin bit back a small smirk, "If it's any consolation, I don't believe Hedge Wizards are inherently weaker than Awakened Magi. Difference in kind, not in scale, as it were. You can get a lot done without the bloody scourge, after all - and I will admit to being slightly envious of that. So from my point of view, I think you got the better deal, getting back to your own power, rather than being merely a slightly more intelligent Focus for someone else's power."

"Well I did ask for it so I guess I can't have buyers remorse now."
Flavian said with a sad sigh.
"Yes and now, the Scurge do affect hedge wizards as well in that dibelief might make magic just fail, if you manage to push though you can summon a dragon in the middle of New York's town square and suffer no ill effects, well not before verious supernatural societies comes for your head, but the chance that you will be able to pull it off is...small. Have you ever wondered why we have dowsers who work for big oil companies, groups who do not pay those who do not actually deliver and yet under critical scrutiny in a laberatory they produce no results, that is the effect hedge wizards labor under."
The former Infernalist said then he shook his head.
"And in the order of Hermes linear mages are second class citizens, even an Awakend apprentice have greater status than a master hedge wiard and I do not look forward to a life being treated as nothing but a lab assistant and a servant."
He muttered bitterly and looked way.

[Nicole's Apartment, 1.15]

Colin's Post:

'Get one of those docs from them fat fucker shows to do it? she quipped. 'But get your point.' absent-mindedly scratching her backside for a moment. 'But we'll need to do some serious work if, like proper electricity and shit is wanted there and not just a lash-up system...'

'But that ain't important right now.' looking to Colin expectantly, clearly seeing if he had anything to add before ending this discussion.

[Steelhaven Garage, 8.30]

Anja's Post:

'Morning, peoples.' Nicole replied lazily, getting out of the Colorado's cab and waving her previous team goodbye. 'Perhaps it's an idea if we're going shopping to take a bag with us?' giving a little smirk while she lit a cigarette.

[Put it at 8.30, early enough to allow enough time for Nicole etc to sleep before the mission, but enough time for the Hospital thread.]

[Briefing, 2.15]

Anja's Post:

Colin's Post:

'I'm basically making a big wood drill bit.' clearly rolling her eyes at Colin's suggestion. 'So I think Mr Bowl is safe from my bad woodworking skill.'

Colin's Post:

Anja's Post:

'Good, 'cos you need to find out before we go on the mission what needs to be done, prep-wise. In general terms.'

Anja's Post:

'Erm... why? Thought we only needed the daytime stuff, and the place is closed then.' Nicole replied, clearly confused.

Colin's Post:

A frown. 'What do you mean?'

Anja's Post:

'And we're now taking prisoners too? How many?' tone clearly a little exasperated.

Anja's Post:

'Can we see the logs earlier today? See who turns up for work in each?' giving a frown, as well as wondering how public the parking lot was.

Anja's Post:

'Erm... actual address, sir? We'll need it to organise the transport if nothing else.'

Anja's Post:

'Meh. Angle of blade too difficult to remove cleanly.' the Etherite replied from behind her laptop, one as ever to sniff at the "rule of cool".

Anja's Post:

'Several points, sir. What's happening to other prisoners taken. Transportation. Creation of disguises. Time of mission. Final team selection. Designated fallback position if plan falls apart. ROE. Plan regarding Sleeper cameras around location.' Nicole rattled off, as though reading a mental checklist from "how to plan a mission" and noting the bits missing.

[I don't actually need an address OOC, just Nick does. After all, to make a direction plan you need a point of origin...]

'But that ain't important right now.' looking to Colin expectantly, clearly seeing if he had anything to add before ending this discussion.
Colin nodded, "Quite; I'm hoping you'll be available to help make sure wiring is up to snuff. I'll also need your input on a generator, or ideally a full-fledged power plant of some sort. Well... that's all for another day; I have other people I need to speak with before the briefing. I'll leave you to your own preparations, if there's nothing else?"

[Steelhaven, 1.30]
Anja wrote:"Well I did ask for it so I guess I can't have buyers remorse now."
He muttered bitterly and looked way.
He smiled thinly, "Well, I suppose you can, but buyer's remorse won't do you any good. Probably best not to mention such to the Quaesitors. They can be quite strict on the subject."
He nodded, "You are effectively working under a blanket. We are working under a sword of Damocles; Paradox hurts, even kills... Well, as the saying goes, don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Then, judge all you like, because he's a mile away and barefoot. As for certain... Hermetic practices, I suppose I can have a word with the next Seat of Forces about it; he's a little more forward-thinking than the current most beloved one. And House Mercere does seem to be a bit more enlightened than the others in that regard..."

[Briefing, 2.15]
Nicole wrote:'Good, 'cos you need to find out before we go on the mission what needs to be done, prep-wise. In general terms.'
He nodded, "Don't think she'll have many requirements, as such - but it will still be useful to check in with her beforehand, see if she's willing to take the job."

Nicole wrote:A frown. 'What do you mean?'
He shrugged, "I'm given to understand vampire blood slows down or even halts aging. I am not entirely sure what happens when the ghoul is weaned of vampire blood, whether they'll just commence aging as if nothing had happened, or if time will catch up with them. If it's the latter, well... I trust you've seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? The wrong grail?"

Nicole wrote:'And we're now taking prisoners too? How many?' tone clearly a little exasperated.
He frowned, "Ellie, probably Oda Andersson, possibly Big Chris, depending... and Lillyandra. So three or four, most likely?"

Anja wrote:"Huh...I have read the novel several times but i never made that connections."
Henrietta said and she raised an eyebrow.
"Well I guess that is humerous."
Nicole wrote:'Meh. Angle of blade too difficult to remove cleanly.' the Etherite replied from behind her laptop, one as ever to sniff at the "rule of cool".
He chuckled darkly, "Those bastards aren't meant to be cleanly removed, they're more like axes, meant to cleanly remove bits of the target... the Gurkhas are bloody terrifying, and I hope for your sake you never have to face one on the battlefield."

Anja wrote:She added then Jeffry gave a slight cough to draw attention.

Nicole rattled off, as though reading a mental checklist from "how to plan a mission" and noting the bits missing.
He glanced from Jeffry to Nicole, then nodded, "I am presuming we should endeavour to look like we're working, so normal streetwear could do? As for Rules of Engagement - avoid collateral casualties, living or undead - we'll want this done cleanly, for minimal disruption of the peace."

Welcoming Morrigan, Leaving the Labyrinth and Well Earned Rest IC Thread 53 - Page 29 Empty Re: Welcoming Morrigan, Leaving the Labyrinth and Well Earned Rest IC Thread 53

Post by Anja Rebekka Schultze Sun Jul 18, 2021 9:38 pm

[Steelhaven Garage, 8.30]

'Morning, peoples.' Nicole replied lazily, getting out of the Colorado's cab and waving her previous team goodbye. 'Perhaps it's an idea if we're going shopping to take a bag with us?' giving a little smirk while she lit a cigarette.

"Good Morning."
Fran said with a smile.
"Hum well I have my back pack but yes a bag might be useful."
The Euthanatoi commented.
"I am sure we can get one when we get there unless there is one in the car we take."
Helena said.
"Anything else we need before we go?"

[Briefing, 2.15]

'I'm basically making a big wood drill bit.' clearly rolling her eyes at Colin's suggestion. 'So I think Mr Bowl is safe from my bad woodworking skill.'

"Well it is a nice bowl so I am sort of happy to hear that."
Henrietta said with a wry smile.

Good, 'cos you need to find out before we go on the mission what needs to be done, prep-wise. In general terms.'

"Like I said I am working on it."
Jon replied.
"I bleieve I can set it up so that it appear like the server is still online and then we can simply take the machines after we disconnect them."

'Erm... why? Thought we only needed the daytime stuff, and the place is closed then.' Nicole replied, clearly confused.

"Serge I believe asked me for their names, for every regular patron's name which takes time."
The Virtual Adept said sounding stressed.

And we're now taking prisoners too? How many?' tone clearly a little exasperated.

"How am I supposed to know, I guess whoever is at the club we can not just leave there like Big Chris, either he have to be ended or we are taking him prisoner we can not just leave him there or he might become trouble down the line."
Fran relieped.

'Can we see the logs earlier today? See who turns up for work in each?' giving a frown, as well as wondering how public the parking lot was.

"Yeah...lets see here...hum...it seams two of the cars arrived earlier today and women got out, probably those who work in the club, two of the cars however have been here for several days."
Jon said. The parking lot was to the side of the club it was not fenced in so it was not har dto accsess it.

Erm... actual address, sir? We'll need it to organise the transport if nothing else.'

"35 Alice Mayer's St West."
Jeffry replied.

Meh. Angle of blade too difficult to remove cleanly.' the Etherite replied from behind her laptop, one as ever to sniff at the "rule of cool".

Henrietta raised an eyebrow and Fran nodded.
"True enough but it can be a powerful weapon non the less with a bit of striking strength behind it."

'Several points, sir. What's happening to other prisoners taken.

"Master Nassa will teleport them out."
Jeffry said.

Transportation.

"I have reserved a rental car that will fit our purposes, as well as one more less noticable car to follow it."
Helena replied.

Creation of disguises.

"We can leave that to someone who can produce them using Ars."
Jeffry replied.

Time of mission.

"When we are ready to go, as soon as possible."

Final team selection.

"Those gathered in this room who are willing to go."

Designated fallback position if plan falls

"Being teleported back to Steelhaven."

ROE.

"We need the Massassa Lilyandra alive and restrained, her close allies either dead or captured and everyone else in the club convinced to leave or as harmelly as possible kept out of our way."

Plan regarding Sleeper cameras around location.'

"Those I can deal with."
Jon said after Jeffry's rapid fire replies.

[Steelhaven, 1.30]

He smiled thinly, "Well, I suppose you can, but buyer's remorse won't do you any good. Probably best not to mention such to the Quaesitors. They can be quite strict on the subject."

Flavian just gave a sour look at that.

He nodded, "You are effectively working under a blanket. We are working under a sword of Damocles; Paradox hurts, even kills... Well, as the saying goes, don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Then, judge all you like, because he's a mile away and barefoot.

"I have worked Awakend Magick Mr Wainwright I feel it's loss keenly."
The former Infernalist said angrily.
"So yes I feel quite competent to judge hedge wizardry and Awakened magick up against one another."

As for certain... Hermetic practices, I suppose I can have a word with the next Seat of Forces about it; he's a little more forward-thinking than the current most beloved one. And House Mercere does seem to be a bit more enlightened than the others in that regard..."

"House Mercere do not vote, they might be a House but in effect they are Custos existing on the fringes of the Order and while your visions might speak of a new more tolerant Primus I doubt he can change a thosand years of practice overnight."
Flavian replied bitterly.

[Briefing, 2.15]

He nodded, "Don't think she'll have many requirements, as such - but it will still be useful to check in with her beforehand, see if she's willing to take the job."

Jon nodded.
"Indeed let us ask the spider if she is willing to help...hum I wonder how many strange wer something somethings there are."
He mushed.
"Quite a few."
Henrietta chimed in.

"It is the latter Mr Wainwright, and how quickly this happens depend on how old the ghoul is, it can be a grusome way to die for the really old ones."
Henrietta said with a shudder.

He frowned, "Ellie, probably Oda Andersson, possibly Big Chris, depending... and Lillyandra. So three or four, most likely?"

Jeffry nodded at that.

He chuckled darkly, "Those bastards aren't meant to be cleanly removed, they're more like axes, meant to cleanly remove bits of the target... the Gurkhas are bloody terrifying, and I hope for your sake you never have to face one on the battlefield."

"Basically if you can not decide between an axe and a sword go with a kukri."
Fran said with a far to wide grin at the macabre topic, she wanted one allright.

He glanced from Jeffry to Nicole, then nodded, "I am presuming we should endeavour to look like we're working, so normal streetwear could do? As for Rules of Engagement - avoid collateral casualties, living or undead - we'll want this done cleanly, for minimal disruption of the peace."

"We earlier discussed trying to look like we work at the club or for their cleaning company but such disguises can be easilly created with Ars."
Helena said and Jeffry nodded.
"Yes that is right Mr Wainwright,t hat pretty much sum it up."

[Briefing, 2.15]

Anja wrote:"Well keeping it simple tend to give things a better chance of working kid."
Ryan said.
"But yes we all have our areas of expertise in this mission and that include you."
Colin wrote:He grinned, though the tone of his voice was a little less chipper than his expression might suggest, "You'll get your chance... just... make sure you're doing it for the right reasons when you do, son. Doing it for the wrong reasons... that'll come back to bite you in the end."

"Can't imagine why I'd do it for the wrong reasons. But don't worry. I'll be fine." Serge assured the two mages. "Already got the 'don't do magick for wrong reasons' lesson already. Don't plan on getting it again."

Anja wrote:"There is not that many employees Serge, not nearly enough for a crowd to push someone somehwere, if the two pepole in the hallway with you narrow in on you to push you towards the outside yes you will notice something is amiss unless you are a dimwit."
Fran commented.
"I mean it is like ten or twelve employees at all and there will be far less there during the day that is not a crowd that could manipulare someone without it being very, very obious."

"Fair enough. I was more so thinking about one or two janitors mopping up large areas. Areas that'll block her and cause her to go a different route. And with a bit of magick luck, the route she chooses will be the routes that we want." He explained, "But that's just me really wanting to do that sort of thing. I'll admit that it's not foolproof. We could just trip up her wards and hope she checks outside for what caused them. Or just not bother with it at all and try to convince her when we meet her."

Anja wrote:"I guess one could do that with a ward...but it is more likely that tripping the wards will warn Oda something is going wrong since you do not want to wake up every vampire who might be at the club in a frenzy if one of the kinksters some to the nightclub for a nightcap happen to be a hedge wizard."
Ryan said.
"Chaos magick symbols are pretty easy...look here, let us say I...want to move faster, I write up I move fast...on a piece of paper like this, then I remove repeating letters and vovels so I am left with MVFST, then I make a symbol out of that and I change it in some way to get it into my subconsious mind, drugs, mastrubation, eating a cookie whatever give you that meditative state and a high and boom magick."
The older Etherite explained before showing the younger Cultist his squiggle.
"You can make them far more elegant and artist off course.
Colin wrote:He arched an eyebrow, "Hum, I'd best make a note of that for the shop. Some very... particular cartouches, for lack of a better term, could make for useful Foci like that..."

"Huh. Never thought of doing it like that. Why use more letters when few do trick." Serge said looking amused at the sample chaos symbols. "I might look into that sort of things myself."

Anja wrote:She added then Jeffry gave a slight cough to draw attention.
"Well then do anyone have anything more to add to this meeting before we go to prepare for the mission itself?"
The old Hermetic added.
Nicole wrote:'Several points, sir.

"It would also be very handy." Serge began, "If we went over the entire skeleton plan from start to finish. To make sure everyone's on the same page here. A lot of words were spoken here. Lot of images just flashed on the screen. And I doubt we all caught 100% of what was said or finalized."

"I am sure you will be cool kid."
Ryan said and he patted his newphew on the shoulder.

"Fair enough. I was more so thinking about one or two janitors mopping up large areas. Areas that'll block her and cause her to go a different route. "Let me put it this way kid, if your wards was trigered would you care if the floor was wet when going to check out what triggered them, but perhaps yes we can indeed made a disturbance outside of the club and get this Oda to come and check it out."
Ryan said with a nod and Fran seamed to agree to that.

"Huh. Never thought of doing it like that. Why use more letters when few do trick." Serge said looking amused at the sample chaos symbols. "I might look into that sort of things myself."

"It is a way to make personal symbols that are sort of containing a whole message also it is a garbeled message that your waking mind no longer understand so it speak easier to your subconcious mind."
Your uncle explained.

"It would also be very handy." Serge began, "If we went over the entire skeleton plan from start to finish. To make sure everyone's on the same page here. A lot of words were spoken here. Lot of images just flashed on the screen. And I doubt we all caught 100% of what was said or finalized."

"We go in, we deal witht he two magick users, you make sure the rest of the employees get out of our way, we might have to deal witht he bouncer as well, we find out hos to take out the bomb before it go off, get control of the Massassa take her, rescue her prisoners and get out."
Jeffry replied simply.

Colin nodded, "Fair enough. Though, I must admit some academic curiosity as to how good the imitation was... you lack the deeply haunted look of others who... lost Awakened magic."

"I feel the loss of the Magick, but as i never had an Awakened Avatar, mine still sleep I do not feel the loss of my soul."
The former infernalist said with a deep sad sigh.

He shook his head, "No-one in their right mind would believe such a change could happen overnight... but unless someone sets their mind to change the status quo, and actually work on it, nothing will ever change. "There is always temptation to missuse our powers but that are trials that come with being a mage. i do trust Serge through I think he will stay on the right path, he is a good kid."
Ryan said and he gave Serge a proud smile.

He smiled wryly, "Probably safer not to go there..."

"Apperantly so..."
Jon muttered and Henrietta smirked.

He nodded slowly, frowning, "Not a good way to go, indeed... time is a harsh debt collector."

The hedge witch gave a solemn nod at that.

He nodded, "The SAS fears any battle where the other side has those damn things, for good reason - in the hands of a competent wielder, well... it gets messy, fast."

"Yeah that is why I want one."
Fran said with a morbid grin.

He nodded, "I doubt I shall need much spare ammunition for this one; if that's all for now, I'll go retrieve that hardwood, and... hum, is there time for me to take a quick detour to the villa before we move out? I need to check on Mr. Ameli's pet bird, in his absence."

Jeffry checked his watch.
"If you get someone to teleport you yes but I hope to be off fairly quickly and it takes twenty minutes each way to the villa Mr Wainwright."
The old Hermetic said.
"But I am getting some Tass so if you don't mind going through the Umbra I can take you along."

[Steelhaven Garage, 8.30]

Anja's Post:

'Yeah, but I don't like them cameras to see my shopping more than they already do, like.' the Etherite quipped, moving back to the Colorado, pulling out a large canvas bag, then what appeared to be a slightly grubby bedsheet or something.

'Think we can take the Subaru for this one... lots of leg-room.' moving over to the hooks by the workshop to get it's keys.

[Nicole's Apartment, 1.15]

Colin's Post:

'How would I know... I ain't an electrician...' she quipped. 'Nah, nothing else. At least, not won't keep...'

[Briefing, 2.15]

Colin's Post:

'Like, technical requirements of moving large amounts of hot cash about. It might need to be done quick or something. I don't know how to do this, do you?'

Anja's Post:

'Suppose that would make it easier... can pick over everything at leisure. Might be an idea to any vampire-owned tech too. We might end up with quite a decent intel haul on the doings of "Seattle By Night".' giving a little smirk. 'That's gotta be worth something to a Seattle Chantry, no?' looking to the Chief for a moment.

Anja's Post:

'What... why?' now even more confused, looking to Serge.

Colin's Post:

'I... see. I think.'

Colin's Post:

'So we need to ready some more space for this, yes?' the Etherite replied. 'Plus you forgot "entertainment", as well as any others stuck there.'

Anja's Post:

'Fuck. Bouncer gets to work in other ways. Dunno, p'haps lives on site?' giving a frown. 'Good idea that goes nowhere...' shaking her head for a moment.

Colin's Post:

'Only if you let them get close enough to you to use it.' the Etherite replied, a clear devotee of the "take a gun to a knife-fight" philosophy. 'And so does a rusty claw hammer get messy...'

Anja's Post:

'Hmm...' putting the address into the computer, allowing the crude AI to plot a path to the target and a predicted time to travel.

Anja's Post:

'Teleporting them to where, exactly, and is there anything we can do to make it easier?' looking to Nassa.

Anja's Post:

'A car? Not a truck? Is there going to be space for all of us and the transport boxes in that?' giving a frown.

Anja's Post:

'Well... who wants a job doing all that?' Nicole replied, switching back to the browser tab for the party supplies company, scrolling around to find a picture of ideally, one of their vehicles and workers in uniform to copy.

Anja's Post:

'Sir, if we leave now we will run into the cleaning crew at the target. If we wait and make our move between seventeen-hundred and twenty, Boston-time, we'll have a lower number of bystanders but the target won't be awake yet.'

Anja's Post:

'And who do we call for that, sir? If we're like, alone or something?'

Serge's Post:

Nicole gave a respectful nod to Serge from this suggestion. It was always best to review the mission in full and in-order before leaving. So everyone knew exactly what was happening and when.

[Nicole's Apartment, 1.15]
Nicole wrote:'How would I know... I ain't an electrician...' she quipped. 'Nah, nothing else. At least, not won't keep...'
Colin smiled thinly, "You and I both know that hiring any old electrician from the yellow pages would be inadvisable. But you're a good engineer, and you have a few contacts among the Etherites who might be willing and able to help with it. I fully expect you should be able to help with getting a decent power plant in place, as well as doing the cable runs needed. Even if you'll need a bit of supervision for parts of it. Well... see you at the briefing, then."
He gave her a quick nod, and headed for the door, "Oh, and if you plan on showing up with a projector, best make sure it's in working order. We had an... incident a few years back involving an old movie on nitrate film. I'm sure you can guess what happened. Bit of a mess to clean up afterwards..."

[Steelhaven, 1.30]
Anja wrote:Flavian grunted at that and shook his head.
"Well...ehm good luck with that."
He said sarcastically.
"I doubt you can change the Traditions just like that, you or this new hermetic Primus you think will take the beloved one's seat."
He smiled thinly, "There is change on the wind... it won't be easy, nor quick, but it's necessary."
He paused for a moment, "On another note, despite your change in standing, as it were, you're still a knowledgeable man; if you don't mind my asking, what are your academic specialties? I might have some research projects I could bring you in on, if you are willing - and I mean as a full research partner, not a mere lackey or test subject."

[Briefing, 2.15]
Nicole wrote:'Like, technical requirements of moving large amounts of hot cash about. It might need to be done quick or something. I don't know how to do this, do you?'
He nodded, "Good point. No, I've never had to launder money, so best ask her before we go."

Nicole wrote:'So we need to ready some more space for this, yes?' the Etherite replied. 'Plus you forgot "entertainment", as well as any others stuck there.'
He shook his head, "You specified prisoners. The victims would not be in that category. Though Miss Johansson could probably be safely quartered in an apartment in the interim, rather than being held in a cell."

Anja wrote:"Yeah that is why I want one."
Fran said with a morbid grin.
Nicole wrote:'Only if you let them get close enough to you to use it.' the Etherite replied, a clear devotee of the "take a gun to a knife-fight" philosophy. 'And so does a rusty claw hammer get messy...'
He smiled wryly, "Problem is, if the chap with the blade is good at their job, you might not see them before it's too late. Besides, the Gurkha Riflemen tend to be pretty damn good marksmen, too, so keeping them at range won't necessarily help you all that much."

Anja wrote:Jeffry checked his watch.

"Like I said Lilyandra's prisoners will be rescued if at all possible and we will teleport them out Miss Bouchard."
Jeffry said.
"Then we will see what can be done for them."

'Fuck. Bouncer gets to work in other ways. Dunno, p'haps lives on site?' giving a frown. 'Good idea that goes nowhere...' shaking her head for a moment.

"Well if one of those cars is his boss's car he might rush out if we trash that."
Jon chimed in.
"I mean he would nto want his boss angry at him after all."

Hmm...' putting the address into the computer, allowing the crude AI to plot a path to the target and a predicted time to travel.

It was a 25 minute travel time.

Teleporting them to where, exactly, and is there anything we can do to make it easier?' looking to Nassa.

"I was thinking to Steelhaven and then we can see if we can get Westchapel to help us care for them they have a bigger infirmary than we do after all and better stocked as well."
The old Verbena replied.

A car? Not a truck? Is there going to be space for all of us and the transport boxes in that?' giving a frown.

"I was thinking on van that can be hid as a van from the cleaning company the club employs white a few of us fit in that and a car for those who do not fit."
Helena replied.

Well... who wants a job doing all that?' Nicole replied, switching back to the browser tab for the party supplies company, scrolling around to find a picture of ideally, one of their vehicles and workers in uniform to copy.

You found a picture from a company birthday party where several workers stood near to one of their cars, in uniform eating cake.
"We can perhaps ask Master Haagen for help with that."
Jeffry said.
"I can take care of it Mentor."
Helena offered and the older Hermetic nodded.
"Very well then that is setteled then."
He said as the ice maga studied the picture Nicole had found of the workers and their car.

Sir, if we leave now we will run into the cleaning crew at the target. If we wait and make our move between seventeen-hundred and twenty, Boston-time, we'll have a lower number of bystanders but the target won't be awake yet.'

"I said as soon as possible Miss Bouchard as there are still things to arrange, but I agree we would want to have as few sleepers as possible present."
Jeffry reply.
"I doubt we will be ready to go before that time anyway."

And who do we call for that, sir? If we're like, alone or something?'

"I assume Master Nassa will be able to handle the task Miss Bouchard and should something have happened to him we will call in aid from Westchapel, they have a quite competent teleporter."
Jeffry replied.

He smiled wryly, "Problem is, if the chap with the blade is good at their job, you might not see them before it's too late. Besides, the Gurkha Riflemen tend to be pretty damn good marksmen, too, so keeping them at range won't necessarily help you all that much."

Fran nodded at this and Amadeus chuckle.
"At times a blade is the best tool for the job."
He commented with a wry smile.

He nodded, "Give me five minutes to get the wood from my shop, and talk to Alessia, and I'll join you?"

"Very well Mr Wainwright I will be in the garage readying my car to drive it into the Panumbra."
Jeffry replied with a nod.

[Steelhaven, 1.30]

He smiled thinly, "There is change on the wind... it won't be easy, nor quick, but it's necessary."

Flavian just looked at your sourly.

"Well other than magic itself it was the history of Hermetic magic how it developed from Greek and Middle Eastern philosophy, and it's connection to Celestial Chorus and Cultist methods and idea."
The former Infernalist said then he glanced up at Colin with a bit of interest in his eyes.
"What did you have in mind?"

Silently, Nicole climbed into the car, wound down the window then once the others were seated, drove once again into the Sunday morning. 'Okay, where is this place?'

[Nicole's Apartment, 1.15]

Colin's Post:

'And why would I be like showing a real old film?' she replied, more confused by anything else.

[Briefing, 2.15]

Anja's Post:

'That means we need to prepare here for more incoming, then.'

Anja's Post:

'Yeah, but we don't know which one that is and the lot is kinda visible from the street... don't want no "upstanding citizen" or cop wading in, do we?'

Anja's Posts:

'Well, it's about half-hour journey 'cross city, plus 15 min margin. So the earliest we can leave here would be sixteen-fifteen, Boston-time.' the Etherite replied, showing the travel plan across the city on the projected screen. 'So it looks that we should aim to leave here at sixteen-thirty, giving us... two hour, fifteen beforehand. Enough time for the prep-work?'

Anja's Post:

'Is there anything we can do to make your teleporting easier, sir? Plus, are we bringing the "entertainment" back with us? Thought we were going to see if we sort them out in Seattle.'

Nicole nodded to this. 'Time for designated drivers, then.'

Anja's Post:

'You able to put some decals on the van too? Ever underestimate the power of a company logo has on making people accepting you as normal.' ending with a slightly amused smirk.

[Briefing, 2.15]

Anja wrote:"I am sure you will be cool kid."
Ryan said and he patted his newphew on the shoulder.
Colin wrote:He looked at Serge, then stared briefly into thin air, at some point miles into the distance, "...I can imagine, kid... I don't think you would, or at least not without some pressure, but... the temptation's going to be there."
He straightened up and smiled warmly, patting Serge on the back, "Well, you're not going to easily tempted, I have faith, you're too genuinely good to slip up easily like that."
Anja wrote:"There is always temptation to missuse our powers but that are trials that come with being a mage. i do trust Serge through I think he will stay on the right path, he is a good kid."
Ryan said and he gave Serge a proud smile.

Serge smiled at the kind words and simply said, "Thanks. We're all good people here. I'm nothing special."

Anja wrote:"Let me put it this way kid, if your wards was triggered would you care if the floor was wet when going to check out what triggered them, but perhaps yes we can indeed made a disturbance outside of the club and get this Oda to come and check it out."
Ryan said with a nod and Fran seamed to agree to that.

"I like that idea. Although we'll need to figure out what sets off the ward. It's probably other mages though." Serge said with a shrug. "Set it off at the edge of the wards range and wait for her to come out and investigate. Then convince her. Or tranq her."

Anja wrote:"It is a way to make personal symbols that are sort of containing a whole message also it is a garbeled message that your waking mind no longer understand so it speak easier to your subconcious mind."
Your uncle explained.

Anja wrote:"Serge I believe asked me for their names, for every regular patron's name which takes time."
The Virtual Adept said sounding stressed.
Nicole wrote:'What... why?' now even more confused, looking to Serge.

"What? No I didn't. Did I?" Serge said looking a bit confused, having trouble remembering anything he had ever said to the Virtual Adept. "I mean....I wanted the names of all the employees who were currently working at the night club. Not the patrons. Sorry if you got confused there. You can stop searching for those names. You look like your about to die."

Anja wrote:"We go in, we deal with he two magick users, you make sure the rest of the employees get out of our way, we might have to deal with he bouncer as well, we find out hos to take out the bomb before it go off, get control of the Massassa take her, rescue her prisoners and get out."
Jeffry replied simply.

"Ok." Serge said simply, "I'd really like it if we do that one more time at the end of this meeting once we've got a most of the details hammered down."

Colin nodded thoughtfully, "Not something that sounds immediately relevant to the study of a Labyrinth, then... I seem to have inherited the one we just raided. sweet big doof, but that's not relevant. Well, I do have a book that needs translating; I believe parts of it are in Attic Greek and Farsi, it's a unique work... have you ever heard of The Creation of the Magus' Child?"

"I would not be interested in studying a Labyrinth either case it do not further my own magic or social standing in any way."
Flavian said and he waved his chained hands dismissivly then he stopped.
"I have heard the title The Creation of the Magus Child...a most rare work. Normally I would scoff at a translating job such tasks are for Custos but for such a rare book I might be interested."
He said and he reaised an eyebrow.

[Briefing, 2.15]

He nodded, chuckling, "It's all circumstantial, really. Some times, a cactus is the tool of choice. Well, according to Anna, anyway."

Amadeus chuckle at that.

He turned serious, "Hum, perhaps Mr. King could manage to make a decent kukri, given good steel for it... it'd be a different challenge for him, I suppose..."

"I ould be able to do so with the right piece of steel."
Bruce said.
"But that really is a discussion for another time."

He nodded sharply, "Very well, Sir, see you there in a few minutes."

Jeffry nodded at that.

'That means we need to prepare here for more incoming, then.'

"Yes if you would be so kind as to inform Dr Lee Miss Bouchard."
Jeffry said with a nod.

'Yeah, but we don't know which one that is and the lot is kinda visible from the street... don't want no "upstanding citizen" or cop wading in, do we?'

"That would have been a problem if we knew which car might be Big Chris's as well."
Jon commented.
"But okey do we have another plan for how to get the man's attention and perhaps lure him out?"

Well, it's about half-hour journey 'cross city, plus 15 min margin.

The Chief considered then he nodded.
"Yes that should be enough time Miss Bouchard."

'Is there anything we can do to make your teleporting easier, sir? Plus, are we bringing the "entertainment" back with us? Thought we were going to see if we sort them out in Seattle.'

"Not much...I have some Tass so that will help other than that if we are under attack keep the enemy off me for a few moments otherwise I should be able to handle it, not as smootly as Narim, I do not have his touch with such thing but it will get us home safely."
Amadeus said.
"I am goign to ask the Chantry in Seattle if they will take the...entertainment as you call them, if they agree we leave them there but if not then we have to bring them here."
Jeffry said.

Nicole nodded to this. 'Time for designated drivers, then.'

"What if I drive the van and you take the car Nick?"
Bruce asked.

You able to put some decals on the van too? Ever underestimate the power of a company logo has on making people accepting you as normal.' ending with a slightly amused smirk.

"It should not be a problem, static things like a decal is fairly easy to do it is moving part that gets tricky."
Helena replied with a bit of a smile.

'Please make sure everyone has your number, then sir.' Nicole replied, looking to Master Nassa. 'Just in case.'

"My astrological birth number? No I prfer to keep that to myself."
Jeffry replied with a frown.
"Your phone number Master Morgan."
Fran corrected and the older mage looked confused for a moment then he nodded.
"Ah yes...off course thank you Miss Mandis I believe everyone do have it but I will make sure."

Serge smiled at the kind words and simply said, "Thanks. We're all good people here. I'm nothing special."

"No...kid not all of us."
Ryan said sadly then he sigh.
"Most of us try though, but you have not yet comitted the...acts that tarnish inosence, in many ways you are the best of us."

"I like that idea. Although we'll need to figure out what sets off the ward. It's probably other mages though." Serge said with a shrug. "Set it off at the edge of the wards range and wait for her to come out and investigate. Then convince her. Or tranq her."

"I suspect it is either the pressence of other mages or supernatural and Awakened in general that triggers the ward...and yes we have to try to examine it but then again examining a ward have a tendency to set it of young man."
Jeffry replied.
"But yes we need to get Miss Andersson alone and tyr to get her to aid us and if she is nto willing to then we take her captive."

"Thanks...and don't worry about it kid missunderstandings happens."
Jon said sounding relieved.
"Well then I can focus on other tasks."

"Ok." Serge said simply, "I'd really like it if we do that one more time at the end of this meeting once we've got a most of the details hammered down."

"Certinly Mr Yeager I can go through it again at the end of the meeting."
Jeffry agreed with a smile.
"Such a dilligent young mage."
He added approvingly.

[After the Meeting]

He stood up, looked around for anything else, then marched off to his shop, to fetch the couple blocks of hardwood of appropriate sizes (foot-long 2x4s, really; most convenient way to get the stuff...) and headed back to the Chantry to see if Alessia had time for a quick word up at Narim's apartment...

You went to your workshop and got the pieces of wood, when down in the shop itself you notice that the Toreador girl had now fully turned over on her side, she was still sleeping deeply but she might be coming to soon, her burns was much better now and her skin was pink rather than burned.

You got back to the Chantry and went up to Narim's appartment, you knock on the door and the Virtual Adept opened it for you.
"Ah Mr Wainwright, what can I do for you?"
He asked. You see Alessia sitting on the Deacon's sofa wearing a tasteful, dark yellow skirt and white blouse and matching dark yellow pumps, she was bent over a laptop tapping away.

[Steelhaven Garage, 8.30]

Silently, Nicole climbed into the car, wound down the window then once the others were seated, drove once again into the Sunday morning. 'Okay, where is this place?'

"Near the docks, you will find a old apartment building there called Miss Flora's Appartments, my contact run his shop in this building's basement."
Helena said as she setteled into the front passanger seat while Fran climbed into the back.

[Nicole's Apartment, 1.15]
Nicole wrote:'And why would I be like showing a real old film?' she replied, more confused by anything else.
Colin shook his head, "No, I don't think you would... I'd not go so far in my confidence in certain other members' technological aptitude. Not after last time. Burning nitrate film is not good for modern electronics..."

Anja wrote:"I would not be interested in studying a Labyrinth either case it do not further my own magic or social standing in any way."

He grinned, "I am glad to hear it. You are free to consider this something of an olive branch from me personally; it would not be an inaccurate description - but the offer is sincere, all the same. And the book, well... it's quite the old, precious volume, copied from the original, and with a few additional appendices added later. It was a gift from a sweet lady, a Diedne who survived the Schism War without Falling. Not something easily come by..."

And the book, well... it's quite the old, precious volume, copied from the original, and with a few additional appendices added later. It was a gift from a sweet lady, a Diedne who survived the Schism War without Falling. Not something easily come by..."

"An old Diedne? Not a Verbena and one that joined the Nephandi?"
Flavian asked.
"A Baham then, some Bahari joined the precursor to the Nephandi who took n Infernalists from all over Europe or those pthers saw as Infernalists...well that sounds like a interesting text indeed, very well I might be willing to do such a translation job for you."
He said with a skeptical look up at the Orphan, still not trusting him.

[Briefing, 2.15]

He paused for a brief moment, "I don't suppose having Beatrice waiting as something of a focal point would be helpful? She's rallying quite admirably, and might be up for it."

"Hum...well she is my apprentice and there is a strong Arcane connection to her so yes it might help, if she is up to it but I don't want her to put undue pressure on herself."
Amadeus said with a nod.
"However this Chantry is my home and have been so for years so I have a pretty good connection to it as is, but ever little bit help eh."

[After the Meeting]

He left the blocks of wood at Nicole's workbench before heading upstairs.

Down in the garage then in the workshop there?

He bowed politely to Narim and Alessia, "Not much at this instant, Sir, it's Alessia I should like a quick word with, before we commence the next operation."

"Ah yes off course."
Narim said and he glanced back at the werspider.
"The good lady have been helping me out with a few tasks. Please do come in Mr Wainwright."

He turned to Alessia, "Ma'am, it's quite likely we, ah, rescue some financial assets from the lair of the vampire we're about to collect. Blood money, as distasteful as it gets. Would you be willing to help us legitimize any such funds as an outside contractor, as it were, so we can put them toward healing some of the harm the vampire has done? Also, what would you require for such a task, if anything?"

Alessa stopped her tapping at the keyboard and turned her attention to Colin.
"I see, well such a task is possible, I have a wide net of contacts including some of our kinfolk in position to give such money legitimacy once it is...hum yes such a task is quite possible and I do owe your society for rescuing one of our kinfolk, I believe he is still in your infirmary."
The shapechanger said as she regarded Colin, she was quite pretty with tan skin and dark brown hair, almund shaped dark brown eyes and a sharp eagle nose over thin lips, and she looked mostly human but she was these shapes on her skin, shapes some might wonder if was just an unusual texture to her skin or tattoos, and looking at her eyes the shapes was there as well.
"I have a favor to ask though I understand it you have a contact who have a position of some power in Brazil? Several of my Totem Spirit's children are in danger there from deforrestation, over collection for the hobby industry and the general fear pepole have of them, perhaps your contact could help me direct conservation efforts towards saving some of these species?"
Alessa said then she leaned back in her seat.
"Do that and I will help you with your ehm...liberated money."
