"Thank you Sir."
The tall, thin man said.
"No as to the question as to what they wanted with me, they did not say much, one of them said they did not dare to let one of my kind live and asked me if there where any others like me in Boston or Chicago, I did not answer them and they set about getting their answers."
He said and he frowned and shuddered for a moment.
"I do not know who they where, they stormed into my home in the most rude of ways, I suspect they where human mages though from the abilities they showed, why they did not want any of my kind around or why they attacked me, I do not know, I saw an opening to escape as they where working on me, and I took it and I ran, and that good Sir is all I know."

The wounded man hesitated.
"As I have just been attacked for what I am, you will understand I hope Sir that I am reluctant to give you that bit of information."
He said then he sigh.
"Sufficient to say I am not human and my nature is related to the fair ones, but that I think is all I am willing to say at this time, I am terribly sorry not to have been of more use to you Mr Devon."

Colin frowned for a moment, "No, I think the tokens at Nicolai's apartment were for he vampires' ward - the lethal one. I seem to recall the Aegis was pre-keyed to approved personell only."
He pondered, "There really are more variables and unknowns than I quite like about the ward setup in those cells... The best I can do is come up with a few general-purpose counters and see what happens."
He nodded and made a few notes in his notebook, "I'll try to draw up the basic concepts of the little trick - it's essentially an interior skeleton with a chaotic skin, a randomizing resonance mask, if you will... Hum... that's a good question, though, how to adapt it to a flexible form, as opposed to the rigid structure of a car..."
He scratched his cheek, "Whoever tries to replicate this needs to be at least an Initiate of Prime and Entropy..."
He frowned thoughtfully, "Adley, about Carmon's motivations for opposing Nicolai... weren't we told that the vampires have a law against turning children into their own, and that Nicolai wasn't supposed to have become one in the first place? That seems to me to be ample grounds for opposing the kid's scheming for a, hum, child bride."

((OOC: Int+Paradigm Translation: 1,3,4,8,0 to try to break down the scrambler into something generally accessible for Prime 2/Entropy 2-capable Magi... Not off to the most brilliant of starts, but one success is better than a botch. Razz ))

Colin frowned for a moment, "No, I think the tokens at Nicolai's apartment were for he vampires' ward - the lethal one. I seem to recall the Aegis was pre-keyed to approved personell only."

"Hum...that would be how an Aegis works, the ones who have taken part in casting it can come and go as they please, anything else with a hint of magick in them have to be invited in."
Joakim explained.

He pondered, "There really are more variables and unknowns than I quite like about the ward setup in those cells... The best I can do is come up with a few general-purpose counters and see what happens."

"I to would like to know more before we go in Mr Wainwright, but we do not always have the luxury of getting what we want unfortunately, but yes those wards are a dangerous unknown."
The hedge wizard agreed.
"Do what you can young man and we are going to have to hope for the best."

"Hum...well I know at least Mr Jennings that you have already met I believe are proficient in both of those areas of reality and there are probably others as well that should be able to try to copy your rote, the question are how to fit your Paradigms together to the point where the one casting the spell will be able to understand your notes."
Joakim muttered and indeed you did seam to be having a bit of a problem, perhaps if you tried to fit the rote into the understanding of one general Paradigm rather than making it general you would have more luck, or perhaps it was just to many thoughts in your head at the moment, but you did not seam to be able to get it down quite right.

"Hum...I have never heard about such a rule, then again I have never seen many child vampires either, all I know is that they need the permission of their Prince to make another, it would be like if a mage had to go and ask the Preaco for permission to take a student instead of just getting the right when he or she become an Adept...then again every new mage is a boon for our society while every new vampire is a new mouth to feed and more competition in theirs so I can understand them, and I do suspect that it is not common for there to be given permission to make a child vampire and really it is quite a horrible thing when you think about it."
The old linear mage said and shook his head.

(OOC: Well those notes did not go to well, but yes better than a botch.)
(OOC 2: I hope you had fun at your game. I am heading out today to play Magic but I will be back later tonight.)

Colin frowned at his notes, tore out the page, crumpled it up and lobbed it neatly into Joakim's trashbin, "You're right... If I'm going to try to teach this to anyone, I'll need to adapt it to their specific paradigm, instead of going for something universal. A bridge of understanding can't be built only from one side of the chasm."
He pondered, "I think it may have been Adley's contact who mentioned it in reference to some disagreement with Nicolai's plans for a bride? Or am I misremembering? It could be I am thinking of something out of Anne Rice instead; either way, it would be a wise rule, what with how there's a certain... immaturity in children that would make them extremely dangerous to both Sleepers and vampire society..."

Adley listened as Colin outlined his idea and tried to get it down on paper, nodding to him. "I hope you can work something out...that's an interesting analogy."

He frowned thoughtfully, "Adley, about Carmon's motivations for opposing Nicolai... weren't we told that the vampires have a law against turning children into their own, and that Nicolai wasn't supposed to have become one in the first place? That seems to me to be ample grounds for opposing the kid's scheming for a, hum, child bride.

e pondered, "I think it may have been Adley's contact who mentioned it in reference to some disagreement with Nicolai's plans for a bride? Or am I misremembering? It could be I am thinking of something out of Anne Rice instead; either way, it would be a wise rule, what with how there's a certain... immaturity in children that would make them extremely dangerous to both Sleepers and vampire society..."

"Yes, you're right. I've heard it twice now. Though if it is a -law- or an unwritten rule of vampirism I can't quite recall. Obviously, it has happened before though, with Nicolai himself and his childer. Though a thousand year old might consider a teenager an adult but not a ten year old. The fact that the Prince is indulging him in order to make this deal though is the problem, it's true that he would not have gotten the chance if the Prince put his foot down on it," he agreed.

"Yes...hum one option is to see if Mrs Knox's husband is willing to take care of him, he live in France so if he is willing than even if this Carmon decide that he want to get back here and go on a rampage he probably will not be able to before it is to late to matter, that way we might not have to keep the man prisoner, I do not like to hurt someone if I do not have to."

Every time he heard the man's name, it was like a bit of his avatar's past became suddenly more real. It wasn't that he was ignoring the fact that this figure had mysteriously returned to the present, to this incarnation. But there was so much going on at one time that he had to take what he had and go with it at any given time. It was rapidly becoming apparent though that now was when he had to accept it, that he had to deal with this somehow, and not out of just sentimental reasons but because he had become a strategic imperative. "I will talk to Mrs Knox about it, then."

"It is always possible that there are traitors in one's midst, but one can not get so afraid of possible traitors that one gets paralyzed to act. As for prisoners, the Fallen ones needs to either be sent to Horizon or...dealt with...here as there is a limit to how many we can hold."
He added and sigh. "I will have to contact the nearby Umbral dock and set up passage on a ship."

He nodded. "It's a problem when the inmates too far outnumber the guards, as they say."

"Please come in Mr Roth Hicks." She said as she lead the way into a small apartment...

Adley did not want to appear rude, though he couldn't help but notice some of the pictures and other details about the place. And the children of course, one of which was in the midst of mischief. He took the tray from Kristina as she scolded the girl, waiting for them to be introduced or the tray to be relieved from his person.

Turning around she handed each child a glass of milk and then said. "Hold it with both hands and say hello to my guest, be polite and then back to bed...both of you!"
The little boy gave you a practiced bow. "How do you do?"

Adley smiled a little in approval and gave the boy a nod of his head in return. "Very good, Mr Knox. I do hope you sleep well tonight."

The little girl however gave you a curious grin and said. "Hi..." Her eyes was emerald fire like her mothers and few would think at first glance that she as her blond far more calm and slightly shy brother where twins.

"Hello there Ms Knox. You have a lovely first name, do you know what it means?" he asked.

Kristina said as she handed Eos her glass as well and gave you an apologetic look. "Sorry Mr Roth Hicks, these two little imps are all over the place lately...."Now what favor did you want to ask me Mr Roth Hicks? And would you like a cup of tea?"

He sighed as he watched them go to bed, then turned to the Verbena and followed to the living room. "They are lovely. I am the one who is sorry to have to interrupt you. No thank you to the tea, I've just had something. But as it seems you are one of the resident vampire specialists...well, I require some stakes and a mallet. And perhaps someone who is adept at using them. I'm not sure if I have time for a quick lesson. I've done it before, but it did not go as well as I would have liked. And there is another matter, as well, if this place is secure enough to speak?"

Devon:

The wounded man looks at you for a long while.
"Ah please forgive me my good man, but I have no reason to trust you with that information, like I said, I thank you for saving my life, but now I would like to take my leave of you."
He said his voice just a hint sharper than earlier.
"I also see no reason why knowing what I am will benefit you in any way Mr Devon."

Colin:

Colin frowned at his notes, tore out the page, crumpled it up and lobbed it neatly into Joakim's trashbin, "You're right... If I'm going to try to teach this to anyone, I'll need to adapt it to their specific paradigm, instead of going for something universal. A bridge of understanding can't be built only from one side of the chasm."

Joakim nodded at that.
"That seams wise Mr Wainwright, very few can understand Paradigms universally, I know I sure do not. Perhaps we should ask Mr Jennings if he can be of assistance once more time tonight."
The old war wizard suggested.

He pondered, "I think it may have been Adley's contact who mentioned it in reference to some disagreement with Nicolai's plans for a bride? Or am I misremembering?

"Hum...I was not present for all of that conversation so I would not know."
Joakim said and looked a bit shameful that he had just run out when Lisa's plans for the Aswadim she planned to summon was mentioned.
"But I guess we can always ask the good lady about it if we get the chance to talk with her again."

It could be I am thinking of something out of Anne Rice instead; either way, it would be a wise rule, what with how there's a certain... immaturity in children that would make them extremely dangerous to both Sleepers and vampire society..."

"Anne Rice? The horror romance author?"
Joakim asked confused then he nodded.
"I agree though, it would be a good rule to have, I can not imagine how horrible it must be to be a child vampire, it is not a fate I would wish on anyone."

Adley:

"Yes, you're right. I've heard it twice now. Though if it is a -law- or an unwritten rule of vampirism I can't quite recall. Obviously, it has happened before though, with Nicolai himself and his childer. Though a thousand year old might consider a teenager an adult but not a ten year old. The fact that the Prince is indulging him in order to make this deal though is the problem, it's true that he would not have gotten the chance if the Prince put his foot down on it," he agreed.

"Well yes the problem is this Prince that are allowing Nicolai to take a child bride, he is obviously willing to sacrifice decency for political power and that is the real issue."
Joakim said and sigh.
"Regardless on whatever or not Nicolai's actions are legal when their leader will not stand up against legality become a moot point."
He said and frowned angrily.

"I will talk to Mrs Knox about it, then."

"Very well, let me know what she say on whatever or not her husband can help with this matter, I would prefer not to keep that old Massassa a prisoner if I can avoid it."
The Security Chief said and nodded.

He nodded. "It's a problem when the inmates too far outnumber the guards, as they say."

"Yes and this Chantry was never meant for war, we have two shielded cells but they are most often used for our own people when they enter Quiet, we are not equipped to handle many, desperate prisoners and I do not want to give them to Umbra Gladii where Jack Devereux can get his hands on them."
Joakim said and sigh.
"They may be Nephandi but they deserve at least somewhat humane treatment."

Adley smiled a little in approval and gave the boy a nod of his head in return. "Very good, Mr Knox. I do hope you sleep well tonight."

"You to Sir."
The little boy said politely, his father was a cultured man of a forlorn time, he was raising his only son to be a gentleman. Olav gave you another nod then walked into what had to be the nursery, you saw pale blue wallpaper and a doll laying on the floor.

"Hello there Ms Knox. You have a lovely first name, do you know what it means?" he asked.

The little girl nodded and have you a big smile.
"Yes...she is the Goddess of the Morning Sun...I am dedicated to her...she spared my father's life when Mama summoned her...my father is allergic to sunlight...and he sleeps really deeply during the day, but when I jump on him a few times he wakes up...usually."
The little girl said there was just a flow of words coming out of her mouth, where her brother where formal and reserved this one was a talker.
"Eos do not jump on your father, and you can tell him I told you not to do it tomorrow when you see him."
Kristina said and sigh.
"My husband spoils the children."
She muttered halfway to herself.

He sighed as he watched them go to bed, then turned to the Verbena and followed to the living room. "They are lovely. I am the one who is sorry to have to interrupt you.

"Thank you, yes they are good kids...Eos will never sit still and will become quite the wild child I assume but they are good kids."
Kristina said and smiled proudly.
"Ah nothing to worry about, I do not mind."
She said.

No thank you to the tea, I've just had something.

"Very well."
Kristina said and nodded.

But as it seems you are one of the resident vampire specialists...well, I require some stakes and a mallet. And perhaps someone who is adept at using them.

The young Verbena raised an eyebrow.
"Are you going vampire hunting Mr Roth Hicks."
She said and she had now switched to speaking Greek.
"I do not know if you speak this language but many Hermetics do, I do not want my children to overhear this, they are four they can easily be concerned that something might one day happen to their father, let them go on to think he is invulnerable, just a little while longer."
Kristina said and she spoke well, she made a few mistakes here and there but where fluent in Greek.
"I would try Latin but both of the children speak that language as well as they do English and French."

I'm not sure if I have time for a quick lesson. I've done it before, but it did not go as well as I would have liked. And there is another matter, as well, if this place is secure enough to speak?"

"Hum...what kind of wood did you use Mr Roth Hicks? Often iron woods are your best bet as their density allow them to hold an edge fairly well, it makes the stake go in quicker and with less damage to the vampire's chest if that is a concern."
Kristina said then she added.
"I can help, but it depends on the situation, I do not hunt anymore...I will never forgive myself for those I killed when I worked for a member of Society of Leopold."
She said sadly and looked down shamefully, as if this was something that weighted heavily on her soul.
"I will not stake someone just because they are vampires but if...there is a good reason then I might be able to help, whatever that is by doing the deed or showing you how to do it properly."
She muttered then she sigh.
"Yes this apartment is fairly secure, the children might overhear, but if we use a language they do not know then it should be fine."
Kristina said and nodded.

"That's right, Eos is the name of a Greek goddess." He cocked his head to one side as he heard about the story of her naming and gave a thoughtful nod. "I see. It is a good name, though I'm not sure how much your father appreciates being jumped upon," he said, the last with a raised eyebrow at her. He glanced at Kristina, and then turned back to the girl with a smile. "Goodnight to you then, Ms Knox."

"Are you going vampire hunting Mr Roth Hicks." She said and she had now switched to speaking Greek. "I do not know if you speak this language but many Hermetics do, I do not want my children to overhear this, they are four they can easily be concerned that something might one day happen to their father, let them go on to think he is invulnerable, just a little while longer." "I would try Latin but both of the children speak that language as well as they do English and French."

"I am fluent in Greek," he returned in the same language and followed through with the rest of the conversation in it as easily if he were speaking in English. "I am going vampire hunting but not in the way you mean it."

"Hum...what kind of wood did you use Mr Roth Hicks? Often iron woods are your best bet as their density allow them to hold an edge fairly well, it makes the stake go in quicker and with less damage to the vampire's chest if that is a concern."

"I do not know what kind of wood it was, the stake was fashioned for me. I would welcome appropriate tools for the job, yes."

"I can help, but it depends on the situation, I do not hunt anymore...I will never forgive myself for those I killed when I worked for a member of Society of Leopold."

"You were a member? Hm...there was someone recently, a hedge wizard I heard was working with our enemies...perhaps you might have heard of them?" He wrote down Elizabeth Tarell's name for her to read and a description: tall, thin, blue eyes looks to be 40s, grey hair and wears business suits.

"I will not stake someone just because they are vampires but if...there is a good reason then I might be able to help, whatever that is by doing the deed or showing you how to do it properly."

"It is at their behest, they asked to be staked in return for protection. There is also another matter, concerning the Elder that your husband knows."

Colin grinned to Adley, "Well, I'm sure you're quite aware of how difficult it is to teach someone uninterested in learning."
He gave Joakim an almost embarassed smile, "Yes, that Anne Rice... I read the two first books in the hospital, between the fantasy novels I rather devoured. I'm afraid the homoerotic undertones ruined the series for me, though; it seemed like the author wanted to go there, but never quite dared. About as frustrating as sitting for four hours watching grass grow, because you've been promised a butterfly will appear, except it never does..."
He frowned, "Prisoner transport... Something might be arranged with Steelhaven in that regard, once the immediate crisis is over; Chief Morgan has acquired an Umbral shuttle with room for a few passengers, and I think a round trip to Chicago would make for an excellent training run. It would likely be easier to arrange a single prisoner transport with any captives from Chicago and any from Boston in one go, as opposed to making two trips. I can't make any promises on that, of course, but you might want to confer with Chief Morgan about the idea."

Colin grinned to Adley, "Well, I'm sure you're quite aware of how difficult it is to teach someone uninterested in learning."

"Unfortunately, in my case."

He looked at Colin, seemed about to say something, thought better of it or changed his mind and shut his mouth again. There was definitely not time for that sort of topic for conversation.

"That would make a very big target, Colin."

Devon:

The man looks at you for a moment then he gave a slight smile.
"I doubt you would be willing to do the things needed to heal me Sir, I stand a better chance of recovering on my own, I do thank you for your concern though."
He said and offered you a small bow and then he winced.

Adley:

"That's right, Eos is the name of a Greek goddess."

The little girl smiles and nods.

He cocked his head to one side as he heard about the story of her naming and gave a thoughtful nod. "I see. It is a good name, though I'm not sure how much your father appreciates being jumped upon," he said, the last with a raised eyebrow at her. He glanced at Kristina, and then turned back to the girl with a smile. "Goodnight to you then, Ms Knox."

"Thank you Sir."
Eos said when you praised her name then she smiles again.
"My father is very durable."
She protested and Kristina sigh.
"Well you still can not jump on him."
The Verbena scolded her daughter before she indicated that the child should go to bed. Eos sigh and nodded.
"Goodnight."
She replied with a big grin and went into the nursery.

"I am fluent in Greek," he returned in the same language and followed through with the rest of the conversation in it as easily if he were speaking in English. "I am going vampire hunting but not in the way you mean it."

"Thank you Mr Roth Hicks."
Kristina said to your agreement to take the conversation in Greek then she gave you a puzzled look.
"I see, now I am curious as to how you are going after vampires then."
She said.

"I do not know what kind of wood it was, the stake was fashioned for me. I would welcome appropriate tools for the job, yes."

"I see, the size was enough to club someone to death with to then I guess like a chair leg?"
Kristina asked she walked over to a cabinet and opened it and took a few items from it, she handed you two thin staked, the wood felt like touching velvet as it was polished to a perfect smoothness, the stakes where brown with a green hue and felt very hard to the touch and they are not much thicker than a man's finger.
"Using a stake in combat is ineffective, you are better off shooting them in the head a few times and then using something like this...or off course if you are staking someone who is not resisting then again something thin and made of ironwood should do."
Kristina said with a bit of sadness in her voice.

"I was never a member, they would have killed me just as quickly as they would a vampire."
Kristina said and sigh.
"I worked for a man named Sullivan Dane, he is just interested in vampires and when he found a kid that had just been kicked out into the world that she did not understand but with powers he could use, he did just that..."
She continued angrily then she nodded.
"I have once met the woman you speak of though, the Inquisition have it's own order of Hedge Wizards and Sullivan got a hold of one of them for me after my third or forth Paradox backlash, he thought she could teach me to control my magick but she could off course teach me nothing, I do not know her well though but she match your description and the name you mention...I might still have the phone number she used at the time but that is over ten years ago now, before I met my Mentor and joined the Traditions, but I could find it if you think it will help, but as I said she might have changed her number since then."

"It is at their behest, they asked to be staked in return for protection. There is also another matter, concerning the Elder that your husband knows."

"I see, so you want to have it done as humanely as possible."
The Verbena said and nodded.
"I can help you with it if I can get a babysitter, and I probably can, my Mentor's oldest son...ehm youngest he grew up in a time bubble, it is kind of a long story...I can ask him to care for the twins while I go with you...however you are aware that however way you stake a vampire they will suffer? They might come with a pause button built in but no matter how gently you press it they will be in allot of pain until you press play again."
She muttered then she nodded.
"Yes what about the Tremere Elder?"

Colin:

He gave Joakim an almost embarassed smile, "Yes, that Anne Rice... I read the two first books in the hospital, between the fantasy novels I rather devoured. I'm afraid the homoerotic undertones ruined the series for me, though; it seemed like the author wanted to go there, but never quite dared. About as frustrating as sitting for four hours watching grass grow, because you've been promised a butterfly will appear, except it never does..."

"I have never read the books myself but I think we have them up in the fiction library in the third floor. I can see your frustration though, nothing is worse to read though than a romance novel where the romance never happens."
The old war mage said and he did not seam like the person to be an expert on romance novels but then, you never knew about anyone really.

"It would be practical, then again as your Cabalmate just said Mr Wainwright it would make you a big target. Also if we capture the Nephandi girl that will put us at two Awakened prisoners we can not hold that many more so chances are if we capture several Nephandi, not likely as they are not that interested in being taken alive and tend to take their own lives if they can, understandably enough, but if we do then we might need to ship them of sooner...oh and I want to have room to take Abigail herself alive if possible, I do not want to have to deal with her again in a few years."
Joakim said and frowned.

Colin gave Adley a half-apologetic smile, noting the topic drift, "Always unpleasant when something implied is just left hanging unsaid, isn't it?"
He nodded thoughtfully, "It would make a big target, yes... Well, I suppose it depends a bit on how many wind up captured here - If there are only four or five live captures here in Chicago, I think that should be possible to fit into the shuttle with guards. Possibly two trips. If that could be arranged with a properly armoured and armed vessel from Horizon for a rendezvous in Boston, I don't think the shuttle or Steelhaven would necessarily become a significantly larger target for the duration. I'd presume Horizon has some better defended higher-capacity transport ships for such a purpose in any case. It's worth considering, at least, depending on the numbers."

"Well if I was a Nephandus then I would destroy that shuttle if I caught wind of it, sure it is problematic to loose half a dozen of my allies but far better to loose them and then get them back in the next incarnation than to loose them forever."
Joakim said and frowned.
"Is the shuttle well armed?"

If that could be arranged with a properly armoured and armed vessel from Horizon for a rendezvous in Boston, I don't think the shuttle or Steelhaven would necessarily become a significantly larger target for the duration.

"Perhaps, but if it is just the trip to Boston then I think a portal might be a safer option, then again that do cause the teleporter Paradox...I will discuss the matter with Master Morgan young man and we will see if he think it safe enough."

I'd presume Horizon has some better defended higher-capacity transport ships for such a purpose in any case. It's worth considering, at least, depending on the numbers."

"They have passenger and good transports and most of them are armored and armed yes, there is allot of things in the Umbra that a ship needs to be protected against."
The Security Chief said and nodded.

"I see, the size was enough to club someone to death with to then I guess like a chair leg?" Kristina asked she walked over to a cabinet and opened it and took a few items from it, she handed you two thin staked, the wood felt like touching velvet as it was polished to a perfect smoothness, the stakes where brown with a green hue and felt very hard to the touch and they are not much thicker than a man's finger.

"Not quite that bad," he said, taking them from her. "Seeing these though, they were bigger and not as smooth." He felt a touch bad for Lenoe as he compared them, as far as vampires went. Then again he still had no idea if Tobias would make it. He hoped so.

"Using a stake in combat is ineffective, you are better off shooting them in the head a few times and then using something like this...or off course if you are staking someone who is not resisting then again something thin and made of ironwood should do." "Hm...well, it could not hurt nor could anything you know about her abilities. We know that she has been active with the Nephandi, so there's something there...perhaps they've got her in a bind as well or something else. It's a loose end and I don't like it."

"I see, so you want to have it done as humanely as possible." The Verbena said and nodded.

"I would of course be grateful for your help, though you've already had a rather long night. And yes, I do know it hurts...it was not the only choice that was given but it was the one that they took," he spread his hands a bit. "It will not hopefully be for very long. As for the Elder, well...recall what we discussed in private before?" he said, reminding her of the conversation about using Carmon as a tass battery. "Afterward we might need a place. The Chief suggested that perhaps your husband could help with that, if it became necessary."

"You can never get wood as sharp as steel, or as hard so there will always be some size to a stake but at least these will not rip the poor creature's chest open."
Kristina said.

"I am not hoping to use them in combat but noted. Thin and ironwood."

"Yes, if you are going for something to use for combat you want something ticker and with a better grip, but it is tricky and will get you way to close for comfort, for all our powers Mr Roth Hicks we still have rather frail human bodies, getting to close to a physically superior creature is never to good an idea."
The Verbena said.
"Well let us hope you do not have to enter combat then."

"Hm...well, it could not hurt nor could anything you know about her abilities. We know that she has been active with the Nephandi, so there's something there...perhaps they've got her in a bind as well or something else. It's a loose end and I don't like it."

"Hum she is working with the Nephandi, it was probably a good thing then that she could teach me nothing."
Kristina said and she frowned before she continued.
"She is rather good at hiding at sneaking around and not being seen, I also saw her using quite effective healing abilities and she do seam to have some powers over spirits, that is all I know about her magical abilities though, I wish I could tell you more, those where the things she showed me. She is a Leopold hedge wizard so that means religious based rituals and prayers when it comes to her tools, or at least it was, but then again if she is working with the Fallen now who knows what she use for her magic...though off course it might be as you say, that she is being forced to work with them in some way."
The healer said as she stood and walked over to one of the cabinets and found and old note book and looked around in it for a bit until she found what she was looking for and then quickly wrote a number down on a piece of paper and handed it to you.
"I hope you can tie up those loose ends Mr Roth Hicks."
She said as she put the notebook away again.

"I would of course be grateful for your help, though you've already had a rather long night.

"Yes, well many of us have had a long night, but as long as there are things that needs doing I...will not be able to do the most impressive magickal tasks yet as all my reserves are still drained from the Post Office but taking care of staking a vampire that is not resiting, that I should be able to do..."

And yes, I do know it hurts...it was not the only choice that was given but it was the one that they took," he spread his hands a bit. "It will not hopefully be for very long.

The Verbena sigh.
"Well sometimes only bad options are available...well at least we can try to make the staking itself quick and if you try to keep them somewhere safe and make sure they have something to occupy their minds with, a radio, music, anything really, then they should be fine, though keep them in that condition to long or leave them in a place they feel exposed and you risk permanently damaging their minds."
She warned.

As for the Elder, well...recall what we discussed in private before?" he said, reminding her of the conversation about using Carmon as a tass battery. "Afterward we might need a place. The Chief suggested that perhaps your husband could help with that, if it became necessary."

"Yes I remember."
Kristina confirmed then she nodded.
"I see, well my husband's home is large and have guest rooms, I am sure he will be willing to offer the man shelter if he is freed, that should not be a big problem, and I am sure we can find some way to get him to France, if nothing else I will take him through the Umbra."

Colin gave Adley a half-apologetic smile, noting the topic drift, "Always unpleasant when something implied is just left hanging unsaid, isn't it?"

"Sorry, I just realised that I was about to comment on the romantic trysts of fictional vampires..." He shook his head. "Time better spent elsewhere."

He nodded thoughtfully, "It would make a big target, yes...It's worth considering, at least, depending on the numbers."

"I am sure you will get to fly that ship soon; I suppose technically you somewhat already have done," he said, shaking his head.

"Yes, if you are going for something to use for combat you want something ticker and with a better grip..."Well let us hope you do not have to enter combat then.

"I'd rather not have to fight a bunch of vampires...I suppose I should be prepared for the eventuality though," he said with a frown.

"Hum she is working with the Nephandi, it was probably a good thing then that she could teach me nothing." Kristina said and she frowned before she continued

"So it seems, though motivations as to why are not clear."

The healer said as she stood and walked over to one of the cabinets and found and old note book and looked around in it for a bit until she found what she was looking for and then quickly wrote a number down on a piece of paper and handed it to you. "I hope you can tie up those loose ends Mr Roth Hicks." She said as she put the notebook away again.

"Thanks," he said, taking the paper and reading it. "It's just that they tend to get snagged when you least expect them," he mused with a frown.

Yes, well many of us have had a long night, but as long as there are things that needs doing I...will not be able to do the most impressive magickal tasks yet as all my reserves are still drained from the Post Office but taking care of staking a vampire that is not resiting, that I should be able to do..."

"WI can't assure you that would be the whole of it. The way things are, one thing has led to another in rapid succession. Perhaps if we took some backup as the Chief said..."

"I'd rather not have to fight a bunch of vampires...I suppose I should be prepared for the eventuality though," he said with a frown.

"If you want to be prepared for that eventuality you want to use magick and prepare your rotes if you are at all able for they will not give you much time to respond, if your Paradigm is slow I suggest going for heavy, high caliber firearms that is your best bet of taking them down...for a while but they do heal."
Kristina warned you.
"And they can heal frighteningly fast. But yes if you can avoid such a fight that is preferable."

"So it seems, though motivations as to why are not clear."

"Indeed, then again young Orphans with no idea of what they are doing are a favorite target of the Fallen..."
Kristina said and frowned at the thought of her would be teacher working for the Nephandi.
"But yes the woman might have more benign motivations..."

"Thanks," he said, taking the paper and reading it. "It's just that they tend to get snagged when you least expect them," he mused with a frown.

"Well that is what loose ends do Mr Roth Hicks, that is why it is best to snip them or tie them up when you have the chance."

"WI can't assure you that would be the whole of it. The way things are, one thing has led to another in rapid succession. Perhaps if we took some backup as the Chief said..."

"Off course, no one can give any guarantees...hum...some back up might be a good idea, then again we might not want to risk scaring this vampire with bringing half and army to what must be a terrifying experience for him as it is."

"Very well, I will keep that in mind if we need to take that route. Thank you..."

"It is no great trouble for me, I go between here and our home in France rather often. I have considered transferring to a Chantry that is close to me and my husband's home but I like Morningstar so for now, let us just say it is an Umbral path I am well used to, bringing along a guest is no great hassle."
Kristina said and smiles.

Wounded. But i'm surprised she's even concious. She said maybe it's a good idea to sedate her, although if there was a way to block the nightmares, that would be great. he said taking her to the bed again.

And she's eating something. You too, not a question.

Saturday:
Ask any from our cabal to come cover me. I'll start as soon as your replacement comes.
And don't bother Master Telar or Master Nassa, they need sleeping. No, you know what? Tell them that i say they need to sleep, they get someone to cover them and they need sleeping like a person.

Ok Coawa, start doing flex and pour her a coffee. Yeah, that's about right.
